Smackdown Preview 02.19.10
On tonight's episode of Smackdown, the Rated-R Superstar Edge is set to return to action. That's the good news for Edge and his fans, with the bad news being he has to face a bizarre yet destructive opponent in the form of Batista. The Animal's last promo on Smackdown was done in all silence, simply pacing around the ring, allowing the fans to boo his silence, and then leaving backstage. He finally made his remarks on WWE Raw this past Monday by telling John Cena he'll arrive to Raw next week. This comes in response to the attack Batista made on Cena weeks ago on Raw. In Batista's last match, he left the ring to get counted out against CM Punk, losing his shot at the Elimination Chamber and Heavyweight title. Will Batista have a repeat performance against Edge? Will The Animal even step inside the ring tonight?
With the Elimination Chamber PPV on the horizon for Sunday, all six of the involved competitors will look to gain some momentum. R-Truth, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and John Morrison would all like to win the Undertaker's title this Sunday. For Jericho, Mysterio and Punk it would be another title reign to add to their resumes, while for R-Truth or Morrison it would be historic as their first. Recently, as R-Truth and John Morrison competed in a tune-up match for the Chamber, Morrison appeared to twist his ankle. The injury caused the referee to call the match, with Morrison requiring assistance to get on his feet and backstage. Will Morrison be healthy for the upcoming Pay-Per-View event?
And finally, it appears that the Mickie James-Team LayCool feud is not yet over. On the last episode of Smackdown, Mickie accidentally splattered a bowl of cottage cheese all over Smackdown consultant Vickie Guerrero. This sent Guerrero into a rage and she set up a handicap match to punish Mickie for the act. Mickie was left to fend for herself in the ring against Michelle McCool and Layla. Although the current Womens Champ looked good in the earlygoing, she didn't have enough to hold off both heel divas. Team LayCool soon had control of the match, and after a Faitbreaker by McCool it was all over. What will be next between these WWE Divas as McCool looks to try to regain her title?
