Smackdown Results from Cincinnati, OH:

Smackdown opened with the highlights from last Friday's show involving The Corre, Teddy Long being attacked by unknown assailant(s), and then Justin Gabriel facing Edge in the main event. The Corre interfered while the ref was distracted, helping Gabriel win the contest. After the match, they dismantled Edge in the ring while Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler watched from ringside area.

Josh Matthews welcomed fans to the latest Smackdown, just before Vickie Guerrero started her "Excuse Me" bit in the ring. Vickie said due to injuries suffered last week, Teddy Long won't be there tonight, and she is the acting GM for Smackdown. Vickie continued speaking about the Royal Rumble, but was interrupted by "The Viper" Randy Orton.

Orton said he came out to show his appreciation for being invited to Smackdown. Orton talked to Vickie about how she'll have to excuse him for what he'll do to her boyfriend in the ring later on, and Miz will have to excuse him for taking the WWE title on Sunday. He said as for Vickie, there is no excuse. Vickie cringed away, which brought Dolph Ziggler out to the rescue.

Dolph told Orton he'll show him respect, because he's the guy who will be World Champion on Sunday. Ziggler said never again will he disrespect him and his girlfriend, especially after tonight and Sunday. Orton told him around there, he has to earn the respect, then Randy hit the RKO with fury. Vickie was livid over what just happened and checked on her boyfriend on the mat as Orton posed on the corner.

Kaitlyn & Kelly Kelly vs. Team Lay-Cool

As Layla and Michelle were making their way down the ramp, Kaitlyn and Kelly attacked from behind, then beat them up all the way to the ring. The match finally got started with Kaitlyn and Michelle in the ring.

Kaitlyn had her way with Michelle for a bit, but as she went against the ropes, Layla grabbed her leg from the outside. Kaitlyn turned around and pulled Layla up to the apron and through the ropes a bit. Layla pulled away and dropped down outside. Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Cody Rhodes, except Rhodes had his back to the camera. Grisham asked if he could face the camera, but Rhodes said no. He talked about how Rey Mysterio destroyed his face in the match last week and now he'll need reconstructive surgery. Rhodes said he's also been told he can't participate in the Royal Rumble match due to all of this. Rhodes said the icing on the cake was a little kid looked at him and said he's not Dashing anymore.

Del Rio told the crowd he's found 39 wrestlers from all over the world. Seth Allen was the first opponent to arrive to the ring and was eliminated quickly. Next out was Mike Stevens who got a quick dropkick in the gut as he entered the ring. The countdown timer went off just as Del Rio was able to toss Stevens out. However, the pyro exploded up near the ramp and Kane walked out from backstage as the next opponent.

Del Rio asked Kane what he was doing there which resulted in Kane slapping Del Rio. Del Rio avoided a charging Kane in the corner, then did his jumping kick to the back of his head. Kane was able to get Del Rio in a chokeslam hold and tried to push him out over the ropes, but Kofi Kingston arrived to the ring next. He rushed over and grabbed Kane's leg to push Kane and Del Rio both out of the ring.

Kofi celebrated the double elimination but the heels rushed back in to try to attack 2-on-1. Suddenly, Mysterio's music hit and Rey arrived to backup Kofi in the ring. The heels and faces were about to face-off, but Vickie Guerrero came out and said they would fight in a tag match instead.

Jackson was able to powerslam Big Show in the ring. Show talked about how people don't want any part of him when he's angry. He kept talking about the Royal Rumble, but The Corre's theme music hit and the four men walked to ringside where they surrouned the ring. Show kept talking though and challenged each guy to step into the ring and take him on. It seemed nobody wanted a piece of Show, but Heath Slater rushed into the ring and attacked Show from behind. Ziggler got in the ring then both he and Miz posed on the ring corners as Smackdown went to break.

Randy Orton & Edge vs. The Miz & Dolph Ziggler

During the match, Orton finally got his hands on The Miz, and managed to hit a huge scoop slam to put him on the mat prior to the commercial break. Orton got down and began stalking The Miz during break, but Ziggler yanked him out of the ring and tossed Orton into the barrier.

However, when Smackdown returned Dolph Ziggler was in control of Orton. The Miz got into the match to continue punishing Orton more. Miz went for his big running clothesline on Orton in the corner, but Orton blasted him with one instead. Orton and Miz both were able to make the hot tags, but Edge came in hotter and had momentum.

Post-match, Vickie Guerrero grabbed a mic and made the announcement that Edge's Spear is banned for this Sunday's World Heavyweight Championship match. Vickie said if Edge does the move he is DQ'd and automatically loses his championship. The news caused Edge to flip out. He rushed at Ziggler who was on the apron and rammed him hard off the apron. Edge hit another Spear on the outside. Ziggler staggered to his feet with Vickie standing in front of him. Edge got a crazy look in his eyes and went for a third Spear. Vickie moved away and Edge hit Ziggler yet again before Smackdown ended.
