Main Event Results 01/29/14

Main Event results from Toledo, OH:

Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth via pinfall.  Xavier Woods was ringside with Truth for the match.  After a break, Del Rio was working over Truth's neck.  Truth finally got his feet up to stop Del Rio on a charge move in the corner.  Del Rio hit an armbreaker drop and continued to control it.  Later in the match, Truth escaped the Cross Armbreaker.  Truth went for the superplex moments later, but Del Rio pushed him off to hanging in a tree of woe.  Del Rio hit a double stomp on Truth and scored the pinfall win.

They had a backstage segment where Aksana and Alicia Fox were hyping up Tamina.  The Bella Twins and Natalya showed up to brag about a recent victory they had.  There was some arguing for a bit before Natalya said "may the best diva win."  The heel divas called Natalya "old" and Natalya implied that Tamina was manly in nature.

Natalya defeated Tamina via pinfall.  Tamina had control of things early, working over Nat's legs.  Tamina tried for a Superkick late, but Natalya rolled underneath her then scored a rollup pinfall to win it.  AJ was on commentary during the match and helped attack Natalya post match.  The Funkadactyls rushed down and helped out Natalya, forcing AJ to flee.

Big E Langston & The Uso Brothers defeated 3MB via pinfall.  The match lasted approximately ten minutes of TV time.  Late in the match, the heels kept working on Jimmy, but he escaped and made a hot tag to Big E.  Langston did various power moves to knock down the opponents.  Later, the Uso Brothers hit a double superkick on Mahal and McIntyre, then each got on a ring corner.  Langston hit the Big Ending while The Usos both hit Superfly Splashes so all three guys could get pinfalls.

SmackDown Results 01/17/14

SmackDown results from Worcester, MA:

The New Age Outlaws defeated The Rhodes Bros. via pinfall in a non-title match.  Towards the end of this one, Vickie Guerrero came out and interrupted, reminding everyone of the upcoming Royal Rumble and how it will be everyone for himself including "brother vs. brother."  Cody was distracted in the ring by her speech allowing Billy Gunn to roll him up for the win.

Backstage, Renee Young spoke to CM Punk asking if the rumor he was going to call out The Shield tonight was true.  Punk said it was confirmed, then walked off.  Paul Heyman was shown backstage.

Paul Heyman came out to the ring to remind everyone that his client was the #1 contender for the WWE World championship.  He talked about how Big Show attacked his client at last Raw, but they won't be intimidated. Heyman said Lesnar will be on the next Raw.  Big Show came out to interrupt the speech and Heyman took off into the crowd.  Show said he knows they're scared of him, and told Heyman to deliver a message to Lesnar: at Royal Rumble he's going to knock him out.

Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto Del Rio via pinfall.  Late in the match, Del Rio went for the arm breaker, but Mysterio rolled through to escape.  Moments later he hit 619, but on the splash attempt, Del Rio put his knees up.  Del Rio later went for a kick to the head on a kneeling Mysterio, but Rey avoided it and rolled up Del Rio for the win.  Post-match, Del Rio kicked Mysterio in his back and then put on the arm breaker, until referees forced him to break the hold.

Naomi defeated Tamina via pinfall.  AJ and Cameron were both ringside.  At one point, Naomi landed badly on her chest on a backdrop from Tamina.  Later, Naomi got back into the match hitting a heel kick on Tamina.  She finished things off later with a split-legged Moonsault onto Tamina for the win.

They showed a career tribute video package for the late Mae Young.

The Wyatt Family made their entrance to the ring where Bray Wyatt cut a speech about having to sacrifice himself to be reborn.  He talked about how he always tried to appease his father, and his father never trusted him with his kingdom, but instead cast him out to walk among the sheep.  He brought up Daniel Bryan attacking him, and said Bryan was given every chance to walk with the reapers, but now he must die with the saints.

Renee Young was with CM Punk backstage and asked if he was calling out New Age Outlaws or The Shield tonight?  Punk said both, and that he was giving the Authority exactly what they want, an opportunity to shut him up, so that one day he can get what he wants.

Big E Langston defeated Fandango via pinfall in a non-title match.  Late in this one, Big E hit a belly-to-belly suplex and then a big splash.  He went for the Big Ending, but Fandango escaped it.  Moments later, Big E hit a big clothesline and then put on the Big Ending for good.

Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Shield about their Rumble plans.  They talked about being a "well oiled machine" but each also teased eliminating their teammates if necessary.  Reigns said he'd throw both Ambrose and Rollins out and they'd still be The Shield after it.

They talked about and showed clips of Randy Orton attacking John Cena's dad at ringside on Raw.  Cole said Triple H is now conducting an investigation into Orton's behavior just like any other sports organization would if an athlete attacked a fan in attendance.

The Real Americans came out on stage with Zeb Colter in a wheelchair. Colter talked about Big Show being a bully.  Colter said he hopes Brock Lesnar treats him in the same way, "We the people."

The Usos defeated the Real Americans via pinfall.  Late in the match, Cesaro broke up a pinfall attempt by Jey.  Swagger put a Patriot Lock on Jey, but Jimmy landed a Superkick to break that up.  On the outside, Cesaro used Zeb in the wheelchair to trip up Jimmy.  Jimmy then took Zeb and the wheelchair and ran it into Cesaro.  Inside the ring, Jey hit an electric chair on Swagger from the top rope.  Jimmy tagged in and hit the Samoan Splash for the win.

CM Punk came out to the ring for the final segment of the night.  He said he came out there because he's not a coward and doesn't need to have other people do his dirty week.  Punk said he could call out the Outlaws, Shield, Inlaws, Ultimate Warrior, Road Warrior - it doesn't matter.  He said The Authority will always do what they can to shut him up.  Punk said "The Authority" mainly refers to Triple H, a man who lucked into his job and uses it to further a personal agenda while hiding behind his wife and The Shield.

Shield made their ring entrance and New Age Outlaws followed.  All of them surrounded the ring, with Punk ready for a fight.  Next, Kane arrived out.  He told everyone to calm down and stop it.  He said this isn't what The Authority wants.  He told Punk his anger is misplaced, and his paranoia is getting the best of him.  He said Punk's in the Rumble because they want him to main event Mania.  Kane said he will make sure he is treated justly and given the respect he deserves.

Kane told Punk he has his word that this will happen.  Punk told him his word means nothing, since he's a 7-foot tall sellout and suckup.  Kane listened to a "you sold out chant" from the crowd, before ordering the five men "get him boys."  They surrounded the ring again, distracting Punk.  Kane snuck in the ring behind Punk and then hit a chokeslam on him.  The show closed out with Kane standing over Punk on the mat.

Big Show vs. Randy Orton (c) for WWE Title

Randy Orton defeated Big Show via pinfall to retain the WWE Championship.  During the match, a steel chair was involved but Show punched it out of Orton's hands.  He tossed Orton over the guardrail into the stands.  Back over the rail, Show hit a KO punch on Orton to knock him out.  Show rolled Orton back into the ring to go for the cover, but Triple H's music hit to interrupt.  HHH walked out on stage with Kane and Stephanie to watch from the top of the ramp area.  Show teased the KO punch as he looked out at HHH, then turned around and was hit Orton's RKO.  Next up, Orton measured up show then did the running punt kick before taking the pinfall.

After break, Kofi tried to run at Fandango in the corner with Fandango dumping him over the side.  Kofi hit his arm against the steel steps, hurting it.  Fandango targeted the hurt arm in the ring as Miz and Matthews talked about the new IC title holder, Big E Langston, who will defend against Curtis Axel in a rematch at Survivor Series on Sunday.  Kofi made a late rally with some of his quick-paced offensive attacks including the double leg Boom drop.

Things eventually went to the outside, where Kofi tried to jump over the top rope out onto Fandango but Fandango moved away.  Moments later, Kofi caught up to Fandango who tried to throw him, but Kofi reversed it and whipped Fandango out on Miz in his chair.  Kofi rolled Fandango back into the ring and prepared to do a move from the apron but Miz came over and distracted him.  Kofi dropkicked Miz through the ropes, and then Fandango grabbed Kofi from behind for the quick rollup pin.

Alberto Del Rio came to the ring with a Mexican Flag to call himself better than the audience members and John Cena.  He talked about Cena stealing his World Heavyweight Title at Hell in a Cell saying Del Rio was sick and hurt that night but wrestled due to pride.  John Cena came out to make some jokes about not sending a card to Del Rio when he was sick.  Cena told Del Rio he'd give him his championship match right now, tonight.  Del Rio asked for a ref and doctor, promising to send Cena to the hospital. Vickie Guerrero arrived out and told them they won't have a title rematch tonight.  She said it will happen at Survivor Series, because that is best for business.  She told them she booked them each in separate matches tonight.  Cena will face Ryback and Del Rio will face  Great Khali, right now.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Great Khali via submission.  The match lasted over five minutes.  Khali hit several chops on Del Rio towards the end of this one, including one sending him out of the ring.  Del Rio managed to grab one of Khali's arms and put the cross armbreaker on him with the ropes.  Khali slammed Del Rio into the apron to break the hold. Del Rio hit an enziguiri kick then put the hold back on Khali in the ring to get the submission victory.

Daniel Bryan defeated Luke Harper due to disqualification.  Harper hit a sit-out powerbomb late in this one for a near fall.  Harper tried to pick up Bryan after, but Bryan grabbed his arm instead and put the Yes Lock on him.  Immediately Rowan came in to kick Bryan, causing the DQ.  After the bell, Rowan and Harper kept up the attack on Bryan.  Bray Wyatt started to go towards the ring apron.  CM Punk came rushing down the ramp and then he and Bryan cleared the Wyatt Family out.

They showed what happened at the end of this week's Raw involving Big Show, The McMahon's, Shield, Randy Orton and Kane.  A promo for the new Total Divas on E! also was shown.

They showed the WWE.com interview that Triple H did announcing Kane is now part of his staff, and that he trusts him.  He said in time the WWE Universe will find out that Kane isn't the one-dimensional monster they thought he was.  After the clip, John Cena made his entrance to the arena.

John Cena defeated Ryback via pinfall in a non-title match.  Cena had several attempted AA's on Ryback in the late stages of the match.  Ryback went for a Meathook clothesline at one point, with Cena hitting a drop toehold to get him down into the STF.  Ryback was able to eventually grab the ropes to break it.  Cena tried to run against the ropes with Ryback taking him down with a Spear.  Ryback prepared to Powerbomb Cena, but Cena slipped off then turned a full nelson into a neckbreaker.  Cena hit a crossbody from the top, but Ryback soon regained the match.  He picked up Cena for a running powerslam and connected.  Ryback tried to follow with Shell Shocked only for Cena to reverse it and hit the AA for the win.

Post-match, Alberto Del Rio came in to attack Cena, stomping him on the mat.  He put Cena's arm around the ringpost and kicked it to try to injur the arm Cena had surgery on.  As Del Rio got into the ring for more, Cena turned the tables on him, so Del Rio fled the ring to back up the ramp as SmackDown ended.

2013 WWE Hell in a Cell Results Coverage

The 2013 WWE Hell in a Cell results will arrive on Sunday, October. 27th from American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.  The latest WWE pay-per-view features multiple championships on the line, including a fight to determine who will hold the WWE Championship, as well as the return of superstar John Cena.  At least two of the matches will be fought inside Hell in a Cell cage structures, with other matches in the ring.  A Triple Threat Tag team title match highlights the undercard as well as a grudge match with CM Punk taking on Ryback and Paul Heyman in a 2-on-1 handicap match inside the cell.

The event officially starts at 8 p.m. EST on pay-per-view, but a 7:30 p.m. EST Live Online Kickoff show will help to get fans ready for the PPV.  More details are below, along with the latest results from tonight's PPV coverage:

2013 Hell in a Cell Kickoff Show Match:

A breaking news story occurred on Sunday, Oct. 27 as WWE announced Curtis Axel was injured and would be unable to compete at Hell in a Cell.  Due to the injury, the IC title match vs. Big E Langston was removed from the live stream "Kick off show" at 7:30 p.m. EST, and replaced with Kofi Kingston vs. Damien Sandow instead.

Tonight's PPV panel for the kickoff show consisted of Josh Matthews, Dolph Ziggler, Kaitlyn and R-Truth.  Big E Langston eventually came to join them as well.  They had a backstage segment with The Shield complaining about how Big Show cost them the tag titles, and saying they deserve a straight tag team title match rather than Triple Threat.  Big E Langston and Dean Ambrose got into it a bit, with Big E eventually challenging Ambrose for his US Title.

There was a backstage segment involving The Miz trying to talk Vickie Guerrero into giving him a match with Bray Wyatt.  Vickie told him he's not medically cleared, so Miz said he'll make it a fight on his own, leaving Vickie behind.

Kofi Kingston vs. Damien Sandow (Kickoff pre-show Match)

Damien Sandow defeated Kofi Kingston via pinfall.  Late in the match, Kofi made a comeback hitting a springboard cross-body splash on Sandow.  However, Sandow was able to overcome the comeback attempt and hit his finisher, “You’re Welcome,” for the win.  The commentators discussed the possibility of Sandow cashing in MITB during tonight’s PPV at the World Title match.

2013 WWE Hell in a Cell Results:

Triple Threat Tag Team Championship Match

Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated The Shield via pinfall to retain the Tag Team championship.  Late in this one, Jimmy Uso went up to the top rope for the big splash move.  Seth Rollins crotched Jimmy on the ropes, and then Cody tagged himself in to take over against Rollins.  Rollins went for a superplex later on, with Cody blocking it and then superplexing Rollins onto the other four guys outside the ring.  Back in the ring, various finishers were hit, with Rollins blocking Cross Rhodes.  Goldust punched Rollins and then sent him back towards Cody who hit Cross Rhodes for the win.

The Miz came out to the ring looking for The Wyatt Family.  In particular, he called out Bray for a fight.  Bray appeared on the Titantron asking Miz if he knows what he's asking for.  Bray suggests he'll "see the monster inside."  The lights go out and when they come back on, Rowan and Harper are in the ring to attack Miz.  They punched on Miz several times then hit a big clothesline.  Suddenly, pyro exploded and Kane made his surprise return.  He rushed to the ring and knocked Rowan out of the ring before picking up Harper and throwing him to the outside.  Kane finished by chokeslamming The Miz and setting the ring pyro off from the ringposts.

Fandango & Summer Rae vs. Great Khali & Natalya

Fandango & Summer Rae defeated Great Khali and Natalya via pinfall in a mixed gender tag match.  Khali was about to go for his "chokebomb" finisher on Fandango, but Fandango managed to quickly make a tag out to Summer Rae.  Summer Rae danced around Khali to distract and taunt him.  Natalya came in and knocked Summer down, eventually getting the advantage.  She went for a Sharpshooter but Summer snapped Natalya's head against the ropes and then rolled her up into a pinfall for the win.

Big E Langston vs. Dean Ambrose (US Championship)

Big E Langston defeated Dean Ambrose due to countout.  Late in this one, Ambrose went for a tackle on Langston in the corner, but missed and hit into the ringpost.  Langston speared him off the apron, and Ambrose couldn't get back into the ring to beat the referee's count.  Ambrose got his championship belt and went to leave, but Big E grabbed him and tossed him back into the ring, then hit The Big Ending on him before raising up the title belt.

CM Punk vs. Ryback & Paul Heyman (Hell in a Cell Handicap Match)

CM Punk defeated Ryback & Paul Heyman via pinfall in a Hell in a Cell handicap match.  Punk and Ryback made their ring entrances, and then Paul Heyman arrived out on electric scaffolding.  He raised himself up to the top of the cell saying he was "Satan" and he would stand over and watch Ryback destroy Punk during the match.  Late in the match, Punk was able to set up a table, but Ryback went to powerbomb Punk on it.  Punk countered that with Ryback crotching him on the corner of the table.  Heyman laughed as he watched above, but moments later, Punk hit a low blow on Ryback and then rolled him onto the table before going to the corner and flying off with an elbow drop on Ryback through the table.  Punk finished off Ryback with the Go To Sleep.

Post-match, Punk grabs a kendo stick and heads up to the top of the cell where Heyman was.  Punk grabbed Heyman by the shirt, then hit him in the stomach.  He followed with shots to the back and legs with the kendo stick, before hitting GTS on Heyman.  Punk looked down at Heyman laying on top of the cage and then celebrated with the live crowd.

Los Matadores vs. Real Americans

Los Matadores defeated Real Americans via pinfall.  Late in the match, Cesaro hit the Giant Swing on Diego and had a near fall.  Fernando rushed in to break things up.  Diego hit an enziguiri then tagged in Fernando who rushed in to hit Swagger with a springboard forearm and DDT.  Cesaro broke up a pin attempt, but Diego dropkicked him to the outside.  Moments later, Cesaro tried to pull the ropes back, but Fernando kicked Swagger into Cesaro.  Diego tagged in and the team hit a double backbreaker to get the pinfall win.

John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio (World Heavyweight Title)

John Cena defeated Alberto Del Rio via pinfall to become new World Heavyweight Champion.  Late in the match, Alberto had a near fall on Cena after a backbreaker, then rushed at him in the corner.  Cena avoided it and Del Rio hit into the ringpost instead.  Cena went up top and hit a crossbody for a near fall, then went for the STF.  Alberto managed to get his hands to the ropes and got up, then hit a superkick on Cena for a near fall of his own.  The finish saw Cena go for the AA but Alberto countered, going for the Cross Armbreaker.  Cena countered that and hit Attitude Adjustment for the win to become new champion.

Brie Bella vs. A.J. Lee (Divas Championship)

AJ Lee defeated Brie Bella via submission to retain the Divas Championship.  Late in the match, Brie whipped AJ to the corner, then ran at her, but AJ got both knees up.  AJ went for Black Widow but Brie blocked it and went for a quick rollup pin.  AJ kicked out, so Brie rolled it into the half crab submission.  Tamina got on the apron to run interference, with Nikki yanking her off there.  The two got into it on the outside.  Brie ran the ropes and tried to kick AJ in the face but hit Nikki instead.  AJ capitalized on the distraction and put Brie in the Black Widow to make her tap out.

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship Hell in a Cell Match)

Randy Orton defeated Daniel Bryan via pinfall to become new WWE Champion.  During the match, Triple H came down to ringside to yell at Shawn Michaels about his officiating work.  Orton yelled at Michaels to pay attention to the match in the ring.  Bryan went for the YES lock but Orton blocked it, then connected on a hangman's DDT.  Orton went for the RKO, but Bryan shoved him away.  Orton accidentally hit into Shawn in the corner and knocked him down, so HHH asked the refs to open the cage door so they could check on Michaels.

Daniel Bryan tried to help review Shawn, but HHH shoved Bryan away.  Bryan got upset and hit the double knees to the face on HHH, before starting up a Yes chant.  Michaels got up and instantly connected on Sweet Chin Music on Bryan to lay him out.  Michaels looked down to see HHH on the mat.  Orton made the pinfall cover on Bryan and Michaels counted the 1-2-3 to award Orton the win.

Tonight's final results will be available here on the blog at approximately 11 p.m. EST.  Stay tuned for the latest coverage as well as all the fallout and followup on Monday's episode of Raw!
