Raw Preview 07/17/11

With the conclusion of the 2011 Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View (see results), fans are wondering about the fate of John Cena and the WWE Championship. On Sunday night, Punk managed to capture the WWE Championship due to Mr. McMahon trying to get involved in deciding the match winner. After hitting Go To Sleep on Cena for the pin, Punk became champion. An outraged Vince McMahon tried to get the Money in the Bank winner, Alberto Del Rio, to come to the ring and cash in for the WWE Championship. However, Punk punched his way out of the ring and escaped through the crowd as the WWE Champion. Does this mean the end of John Cena and the WWE Championship? Will this be the last the WWE Universe sees of CM Punk?

As mentioned above, Alberto Del Rio was able to become Mr. Money in the Bank by winning the Raw MITB ladder match. Del Rio was able to defeat Rey Mysterio in the final moments of the match, and pulled down the red briefcase. Later in the night, Del Rio nearly cashed in to win the WWE Championship. However, CM Punk headed him off before the ref could even call for the bell to signal the match. Now that the WWE Championship has been hijacked, it would seem that Del Rio's destiny may be in jeopardy. Will Del Rio ever get a shot at the WWE Championship?

Also at MITB, the battle of behemoths went down as Mark Henry defeated Big Show. Henry showed himself to be the bigger of the two beasts in the ring, using several World's Strongest Slams and a few splashes to defeated Show. Henry also worked over that injured leg that was run over by Alberto Del Rio's car weeks ago. At the conclusion of the match, Henry further damaged Show's leg with a steel chair, resulting in Show being helped backstage by medical staff. What will be the health condition of Big Show when Raw goes live on Monday? Will Show be able to return to action in the ring sooner, or later?
