WWE NXT Results 08/09/11

NXT Results from Sacramento, CA:

The show opened with Matt Striker in ring for the latest challenging involving some eggs or golf balls and spoons. Darren Young arrived out from backstage to interrupt. He got in the ring with Striker saying he's the host and just trying to do his job. Young said he's main evented at Summerslam and that Striker is a has been who never made it as a wrestler so he's trying to stay in the spotlight. Young eventually got upset by Striker's comments towards him, so he punched Striker down. Young backed up the ramp and challenged Striker to a match tonight saying he'll show him why he's winning NXT Season 5.

Tyson Kidd appeared on camera from backstage talking about the lineage he comes from including the Dungeon which includes Davey Boy Smith and Bret Hart. He said tonight he'll show Justin Gabriel how it's done in the ring.

Justin Gabriel vs. Tyson Kidd

Late in the match, Tyson Kidd put a single-leg Boston Crab submission on Gabriel. Gabriel countered and turned it into his own pinfall move. Kidd kicked out, so Gabriel hit a modified STO. He climbed up the corner for the 450 Splash and after setting up, connected on his finisher for the win.

Winner: Justin Gabriel wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd.

Matt Striker vs. Darren Young

During this match, Striker got busted open after a belly-to-belly suplex from Young. Striker was bleeding heavily from the nose, but the match continued. Striker hit The Playmaker, MVP's former finisher, with Young kicking out of a pinfall attempt. The ref eventually checked to make sure Striker was ok to continue with all the bleeding. Young eventually managed to hit a gutbuster across his knees with Striker, leading to the winning pinfall.

Winner: Darren Young wins via pinfall over Matt Striker.

Daniel Bryan found Derrick Bateman backstage playing video games. He shut the game off and said it's time they talk. Bryan said he hasn't been with him for support lately because Bateman's been making a fool out of himself. Bryan said until Bateman can figure himself out, he's on his own. Daniel Bryan walked off leaving Bateman to think it over.

Titus O'Neil vs. Derrick Bateman

Late in the match, Titus escaped a reverse chinlock by Bateman. Bateman cut off his comeback attempt with a chopblock, then went for a sunset flip pinfall. Instead, Titus sat on Bateman's shoulders and held him there for the 3 count, surprising everyone at the strange finish out of nowhere.

Post-match, Titus celebrated in the ring with AJ and Hornswoggle, similar to last week's celebration.

Winner: Titus O'Neil wins via pinfall over Derrick Bateman.
