Raw Results 10/13/14


Raw Results from Atlanta, GA:

The show opened with Dean Ambrose coming to the ring to discuss how badly he wants to get inside the cell at Hell in a Cell with Seth Rollins. He said nothing Cena can do will stop him either. John Cena came out to interrupt, telling Ambrose he should prepare because in two weeks he’s got the match of his life and Cena is going to bring it. The two were about to throw down, when Triple H and Stephanie interrupted. They argued a bit about whether or not the two could co-exist on a tag team, with a bet being made. Eventually a match was booked with Cena and Ambrose against The Usos and Stardust and Goldust.

John Cena & Dan Ambrose defeated Goldust, Stardust and The Uso Brothers via pinfall in a non-title match. Cena scored the winning pinfall on Goldust after hitting an Attitude Adjustment. Post-match, HHH and Stephanie were back on stage and HHH paid Steph a dollar for losing their bet. He said why wait until Hell in a Cell, as Cena vs. Ambrose will fight in a Contract on a Pole match tonight on Raw instead.

AJ Lee & Layla defeated Paige & Alicia Fox via pinfall. At one point, Layla dropped off the ring apron when AJ wanted to tag her in. Eventually, AJ hit Fox with a Shining Wizard and then pinned her. Lee chased after Layla post-match then beat her up a bit before grabbing her title belt and smiling back at Paige and Fox.

Backstage, Randy Orton came up to talk to Stephanie and Triple H. He said Cena and Ambrose can both beat Rollins but they can’t beat him. He asked for a match with whoever loses the Cena vs. Ambrose matchup. The Authority agreed with Orton and said he would get his match as a Hell in a Cell Match at the PPV.

Randy Orton defeated Dolph Ziggler via pinfall in a non-title match. The match lasted nearly 20 minutes with plenty of exciting spots. During the match, Cesaro was on guest commentary talking about wanting an IC title rematch. Seth Rollins came out on stage and then down to ringside where he watched the match. Towards the end, Ziggler went for a Fameasser but instead Orton caught him and threw him into the air, then hit an RKO for the win. Post-match, Rollins got in the ring to hit a Curb Stomp on Ziggler before posing with the MITB briefcase.

Seth Rollins defeated Jack Swagger via pinfall. Rollins tried for his finisher late in this one, but Swagger avoided it to put the Patriot Lock on. Rollins managed to reach the ropes. Moments later, he got a roll up pinfall and secured Swagger’s tights for the win. Orton was at ringside and got in the ring to hit an RKO post-match, then trash talked with Rollins a bit.

Ambrose was interviewed by Renee Young backstage. Ambrose talked about how he’s not a nice guy and nobody should expect him to be one when he faces Cena tonight. He sang that Cena and Rollins were both on a highway to hell.

Todd Phillips spoke with Big Show backstage about how over 300 million Americans are counting on him against Rusev. Show said no disrespect to Mark Henry, but the weight of America is on his shoulders now. He said he’s going to show Rusev what he learned in sensitivity training now.

Rusev defeated Big Show due to disqualification. Lana and Rusev cut a promo pre-match to dis the Atlanta Braves fans in attendance and Americans. Rusev called out Show for knocking him out and said he will pay tonight. In the match, Show gained control of things late and set up for a KO punch. However, Rusev ducked the punch and kicked Show down so he could put on The Accolade. Mark Henry came down to ringside and yelled to encourage Big Show. Henry got up on the apron, so Rusev released the hold then knocked Henry off the apron. He put the hold back on Show, but Henry got in the ring and punched Rusev. The ref called for the bell. Post-match, Show and Henry argued a bit before Show apologized. The duo went to ringside and cornered Rusev. Rusev ran at Henry to trade strikes with him, but then turned and was hit by a KO punch from Big Show. Lana yelled at them for what happened.

They had Todd Chrisley from “Chrisley Knows Best” on USA at ringside. A preview was shown of the show ahead of its premiere episode. Todd Phillips was there to interview him and Chrisley said his son watches this stuff every day.

The Miz defeated Sheamus via count out in a non-title match. Damien Mizdow was ringside with Miz. Late in this one, The Miz and Mizdow both snuck underneath the ring. Sheamus attempted to grab both to pull them out and got involved in a fight with Mizdow. Meanwhile, The Miz got back into the ring to avoid the count out. Sheamus laughed about it and then tried to rush into the ring to go after Miz, but Miz escaped and went up on stage with Mizdow to laugh at Sheamus.

Backstage, Raw special guest star Nene Leakes of Real Housewives got into it with Cameron who was snotty to her. They got in one another faces then dismissed each other with Cameron walking off.

Brie Bella, Natalya, and Naomi defeated Nikki Bella, Summer Rae, and Cameron via pinfall. Rosa Mendes and Nene Leakes were ringside. Brie kicked Nikki late in the match, then hit a Facebuster to get the pinfall win. Rosa and Nene Leakes celebrated in the ring with the winning divas.

Cena was interviewed by Renee Young backstage and played up the fact that Atlanta hosted WrestleMania 27 before. He said the fans can see the same thing in Ambrose that others see: that he’s a wild card and the only guy with the guts to get in the ring with him. He said the pole match will be about brains and will feature the brightest young star going face-to-face with the man who runs the place.

A Wyatt Family promo video was shown. Bray said he used to be afraid but “she came and told him he’d never be alone because of the spirits at his sides.” Bray confused with “It’s coming” and was shown in his rocking chair as smoke filled up the area.

Dean Ambrose defeated John Cena in a Contract on a Pole match. The Authority came out ahead of the match as spectators. Rollins, Orton and Kane came out after Cena and Ambrose made entrances. During the match, Cena put an STF on Ambrose, but Dean bit Cena’s hand to break it. Cena yelled out in pain and went to the floor, with Ambrose going after him instead of getting the contract. Orton pointed out the contract on the pole to Ambrose, but Dean punched Randy down instead. Cena hit Ambrose from behind and attempted to go for the contract, but Orton got to the ring to stop him. Ambrose got back in the ring with Rollins and Kane following behind. Cena hit an AA on Kane. As Cena was busy, Ambrose was able to pull down the contract to win the match against Rollins at HIAC. Cena gave Ambrose some applause for the win. Post-match, Orton got on the ring apron and then made gestures to indicate they’d be facing off in a Hell in a Cell match.
