3 More WWE Superstars Released

This past week saw the release of several superstars including Super Crazy, Paul London and Chuck Palumbo. Today World Wrestling Entertainment released three more of its superstars. Two of them came from ECW while one from Smackdown's roster.

From WWE.com:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Kenny Dykstra and ECW's Elijah Burke and Lena Yada as of Nov. 10, 2008. WWE wishes them the best in all future endeavors.

Might not be many suprises with these, although Burke had been competing at a championship level in ECW, but had disappeared off the show recently. Dykstra was involved in recent Smackdown stories, mainly bragging he was the top star of the show. Dykstra was moved over to Smackdown via the draft in 2008, and had matches with the likes of Chuck Palumbo mostly. He had a marquee match against Triple H, and also was packed up and moved out by Jesse & Festus, as Smackdown moved to MyNetworkTV. Dykstra is also well known for being part of the Spirit Squad, who at one time on Raw held the tag team champions.

As for Lena Yada, she was a runner up to Eve Torres in the WWE Divas search, and mostly worked as a backstage correspondent/reporter for ECW. She was a part of the 16-diva tag match on Raw's 800th episode, but not really involved in the wrestling action.

WWE Characters the Blog wishes all 3 success in their future careers, even if they choose to cross the line to the other pro wrestling league.

Kelly Kelly vs. Layla

Kelly had Layla down in a headlock early, but Layla reversed it to put Kelly into a headscissors. Layla choked Kell around the neck with her legs. Lena Yada was at ringside to watch Layla. Kelly managed to kncok Layla to the mat and jump off the ropes to clothesline Layla. Layla regained control and threw Kelly across the ring, then choked her near the ropes.

Layla used a series of legdrops on Kelly's arm, then targeted it by pulling on Kelly's arm. Kelly elbowed her way out, but Layla clotheslined her right down, then started stomping on Kelly's arm. Layla went for a suplex, but Kelly reversed to suplex Layla. Kelly jumped off the ropes to splash onto Layla then tried for the pin. Layla kicked out, so Kelly used a second finisher move by putting her leg on the back of Layla's head, then slamming her face first for a pin.

Winner: Kelly Kelly wins via pinfall over Layla.

Mike Knox vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi's first match against a non-amateur with Mike Knox. Kofi was able to use quickness to elude Knox in the corner, and avoid a boot to the face. Kingston tried to run at Knox off the ropes but was knocked down. Kofi was able to do a flip move wit his feet to toss Knox onto the mat. Knox grabbed Kofi at one point and tripped him face first into the turnbuckle. Knox began to beat Kofi around the ring. Knox kept Kofi down in a headlock for a while til Kingston escaped and tossed him to the ropes. Kingston used a standing dropkick and a buzzsaw like kick to Knox' head to finish him off.

Tommy Dreamer vs. John Morrison

Morrison came to the ring accompanied by fellow tag champ, The Miz. Prior to the match Morrison and Miz bragged on the mic about being chick magnets and the tag champs. Dreamer came to the ring with his new pal, Colin Delaney.

Dreamer took control early on as he slammed Morrison back then clotheslined him over the top ropes. Outside the ring Miz helped Morrison regain control to beat up Dreamer. Morrison brought him back in the ring to kick and then put into a submission hold on the mat. Miz provided some distraction by climbing on the apron when Dreamer was down. Dreamer managed to land several moves and kicked Dreamer from off the ropes. Despite Morrison seeming to have the upperhand, Dreamer managed to get in a DDT and then pinfall on him.

After the win, Miz entered the ring to knock down Dreamer and Delaney. Miz tossed Dreamer out of the ring, then he and Morrison proceeded to beat the crap out of Delaney in the ring.

Winner: Tommy Dreamer wins via pinfall over John Morrison.

Backstage Mark Henry yelled at a WWE staff member about the upcoming match before he started to walk off for the ring.

CM Punk vs. Mark Henry

Chavo Guerrero came out prior to the contest to watch the match from ringside. Punk went on the offensive early but when he jumped at Henry off the ropes, the massive Silverback just knocked him to the mat. Henry continued to maul Punk and tossed him out of the ring. Henry picked up Punk in a bearhug then rammed him against the ringpost.

It was when Henry refuse to break a choke hold on Punk that the referee awarded the match to Punk for the DQ. Chavo got into the ring afterwards to try to attack Punk, but CM gave Chavo the GTS.

Winner: CM Punk wins due to disqualification of Mark Henry.

New WWE Diva, Lena Yada

wwe diva lena yada

We all know that being a runner-up in the WWE diva search doesn't mean you've lost, and you still have a shot to be a part of the show. Former search "losers" included Maria and Candice Michelle, and both are enjoying success now as WWE Divas. A runner up in the 2007 WWE Diva Search, Lena Yada, is now working with WWE. WWE hired her for now as the Smackdown reporter backstage, and she may move on to wrestling at some point. Lena appeared on last Friday's Smackdown show as she interviewed Chavo Guerrero about his recent return and actions.

According to WWE.com, Lena is 28 years of age and hails from Honolulu, Hawaii. She's a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic model, and also had a bit of a role in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Her self-proclaimed nickname is "Asian sensation" and she admits to the fact sometimes she just wants to stay home with a beer and pizza. As for her choice in men, he has to be tall first and foremost. She also wants a guy who is comfortable in all sorts of situations and willing to try new things.

Check out WWE.com for a pictorial of the latest diva, Lena.

Also see this unconfirmed Myspace page of Lena. It features several pictures of her from Hooters, bikini modeling and more!
