WWE Diva Ashley Massaro

The WWE Diva Search has produced several winners, some of whom ended up leaving WWE for other ventures. One winning contestant who has stuck around to become a fan favorite, is WWE Diva Ashley Massaro. Here's more info on Ashley.

Ashely became a WWE Diva thanks to the 2005 WWE Diva Search. In the contest she won $250,000 and a one-year contract with WWE. She started on the August 21, 2005 edition of Heat as a reporter covering pre-Summerslam interviews. Later on during the Pay Per View she helped other divas wash Mr. McMahon's limo wearing bikinis. Ashley received her wrestling training from the likes of Finlay, Ricky Steamboat and Trish Stratus. She first was a manager and then partner/protege for diva Trish Stratus on Raw. She left the show and eventually became a valet for Paul London and Brian Kendrick, while also becoming part of the Smackdown roster. The tag team won the WWE Tag Team titles while under Ashley's management. During her wrestling career on Smackdown she suffered two injuries in 2006, a fractured fibula and a broken knuckle.

Ashley had another injury on the April 13, 2007 edition of Smackdown, requiring a procedure to re-insert a screw in her previously hurt ankle. This came during an attack from Jillian Hall. She sought revenge on Jillian Hall when she returned, but Ashley was "fired" by Mr. McMahon on the June 8, 2007 Smackdown. This came after Ashley bumped into Vince and spilled coffee on him.

Not only did winning the diva search introduce Ashley to wrestling, it also got her into Playboy magazine. In March 2007, Ashley became the latest in a line of divas (Chyna, Sable, Torrie Wilson) to make the cover and get a photo shoot. Ashley also appeared on the hit reality TV series, Survivor in 2007. The show was a special celebrity superstar edition set in China. Ashley was voted off early on in the series but appeared on the live Finale in late December. For her personal life she has dated wrestlers Matt Hardy and Paul London.

Ashley's original WWE theme music was "Be Yourself" by Audioslave, also the theme song for WWE 2005 Diva Search. Her current theme music is "Light a Fire" by Nuts in a Blender, found on WWE the Music Vol. 7.
