2008 Judgment Day Results

WWE's 2008 Judgment Day Pay-Per-View has officially ended! On the card there were 4 titles up for grabs including WWE title, World Heavyweight, WWE Tag team titles and the Women's title. Here's match by match recaps and results from the big Pay-Per-View:

JBL vs. John Cena

This contest saw two former champions battling it out, based on JBL's grudge with Cena after the Fatal Fourway at Backlash. JBL seemed to really be taking it out on Cena as he gave him the clothesline from Hell, followed by a ton of elbow drops! JBL continued the attack, taunting Cena then whipped Cena to the ropes. As Cena came back at JBL he was able to hit the FU finisher and take the pin! Afterwards, GM William Regal was shown looking not too happy in a luxury suite box at the arena.

Winner: John Cena wins via pinfall over JBL.

WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison vs. ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk

In this one the WWE tag champs put their titles on the line against ECW champ Kane and CM Punk. Punk seemed in control of Morrison until Miz tripped him from the outside. While Punk and Morrison were the legal wrestlers in the ring, Kane went to handle The Miz outside the ring. As Kane chokeslammed Miz and Punk looked on, John Morrison delivered his finisher just as Punk turned around. The tag champs successfully defend the WWE tag titles!

Winners: The Miz & John Morrison win via pinfall over Kane & CM Punk to retain the WWE Tag Team titles.

Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels

There was no love lost between these two in what turned out to be an exciting match down to the wire! In this recent feud based on Shawn Michaels faking a knee injury, Chris Jericho and HBK gave it their all in the ring. Jericho went for a Lionsault towards the end, with HBK using his knees to block. Jericho countered to try for the Walls of Jericho, but Michaels was able to surprisingly roll him up for a pinfall! HBK wins in a non-title bout! After Michaels had his hand raised as victor, Jericho and he exchanged handshakes over a great match! Later backstage, the Animal Batista reminded HBK that he is going to hurt him at some time in the future for lying about the leg injury.

Winner: Shawn Michaels wins via pinfall over Chris Jericho.

Women's Champion Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Melina (Triple Threat Match)

In this battle of lovely lady wrestlers, Mickie James put her Women's title on the line. The Glamazon was hungry to regain the title that she once wore. Towards the end, Mickie was able to dropkick Beth out of the picture. Melina tried to gain an advantage beating up Mickie in the corner. Beth came over and hit an impressive double backbreaker on both Mickie and Melina! However after the move, Beth ended up towards the back of the ring, so Mickie quickly hit her finisher on Melina to gain the pinfall victory!

Winner: Mickie James wins via pinfall over Melina to retain the WWE Women's title.

Undertaker vs. Edge (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

This match was all set to decide the next World Heavyweight champion after Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero stripped Undertaker of his title. Edge and Taker battled it out, Undertaker managed to hit a chokeslam on Edge but the Rated-R Superstar kicked out of the pin. Both men went to the outside, where Taker clotheslined Edge over the crowd barrier. The ref continued counting both wrestlers out as they rushed to get back in the ring. Undertaker got back into the ring at 9, with Edge on the outside. Undertaker appeared to be your new World Heavyweight Champ, however Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero came to the ramp. Vickie informs Taker he can't win the title on a countout! Undertaker responds with a vicious tombstone on Edge.

Winner: Undertaker wins due to countout of Edge. World Heavyweight title is still vacant.

Jeff Hardy vs. MVP

Prior to the main event, MVP came down to the ring to call out US Champ Matt Hardy. Matt showed up in street clothes, then told MVP he's already shown he can beat him. Matt introduced someone else who is better than MVP, and his brother Jeff Hardy came to the ring for the fight. In the unscheduled Judgment Day match, MVP and Jeff battled in an inter-brand contest. MVP had Jeff set up for the Playmaker, but Jeff countered. The two exchanged punches, then Jeff clotheslined MVP to the mat. Jeff attempted the Swanton, but MVP moved away. MVP went to finish off Jeff, but again Jeff escaped then hit Whisper in the Wind to collect the pinfall victory!

Winner: Jeff Hardy wins via pinfall over MVP.

WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton (Steel Cage Match)

In a brutal steel cage match for the WWE title, Randy Orton vowed he would reign supreme on Judgment Day and return the "Age of Orton". With the current King and GM William Regal looking on, Triple H and Orton put it all on the line inside the cage. A steel chair even came into play, with both men using the weapon on one another. Orton went for several escapes from the structure as well, with the champ Triple H able to prevent him from leaving. It finally came down to Triple H able to avoid a kick to his head from Orton, then smash him with the chair. After hitting his trademark Pedigree, Triple H scores the pin and keeps the WWE title around his waist!

Winner: Triple H wins via pinfall over Randy Orton to retain the WWE title.

This made for one exciting Pay-Per-View with some surprising match outcomes! Congrats to all of tonight's Judgment Day winners. Three of the titles stayed with their owners. There's still no wrestler holding the World Heavyweight title. We should also have an interesting episode of Monday Night Raw coming on the heels of Sunday night's PPV! Be sure to tune in at 9PM EST on USA to catch all the action!
