Raw's New GM: Mike Adamle?
The shocking revelation came Monday night that Raw finally had itself a new General Manager. During the show, fans may have second guessed WWE thinking it was William Regal, JBL, Shane McMahon (who made several appearances on the show) or even Stone Cold Steve Austin. William Regal had a match against CM Punk and seemed a likely candidate for a return to his position. Jim Ross was on hand and for a while it actually looked like maybe good ol' JR had somehow been named GM, extracting revenge on Michael Cole by putting him in a tag match. However, it was none of the above and at the end of the show we had a shocker, and a lackluster reception for Raw's new GM. Mike Adamle now owns the show and calls the shots, but with his delivery this past Monday you've got to wonder, will it be successful?
Up until Monday, Adamle was the commentary partner for "The Tazz" on ECW Tuesday nights. Adamle was the laughing stock of the show, stumbling through lines, messing up names and making strange statements regarding what was going on. Even Monday night he confused Jillian Hall the diva wrestler with Lillian Garcia the announcer. Both are beauties and both sing, but only one sings well. Adamle had been criticized by fans and wrestlers alike, but now he's in charge, and quite possibly looking for revenge. When he was in the ring for the surprise finale of Raw with Cena and Batista, he delivered the news that they would be in a match at Summerslam. Fans didn't seem to have much enthusiasm at the announcement of Adamle as GM. There were not as many cheers or boos heard, and it was if may fans were quietly thinking a Stone Cold Steve Austin "What?" about the news.
Adamle will work only if he's able to improve his delivery and really find ways to irritate the fans. Of course the WWE superstars can help with this. It's also possible fans will get their own taste of revenge if Adamle plays heel GM and starts getting finishing moves done on him. Either way, Adamle is the brand new GM until Vince McMahon gives him a "You're Fired!"

I have to admit that I was stunned by that announcement. That was one I never saw coming, which is rare. I can't quite figure out, though, how it'll all work. Adamle really has no history with the WWE; at least Vicki Guerrero was a known name, even if she wasn't with WWE until later on.
Should be interesting, but based on the matches we saw Monday night, I think he's going to be a heel, and man, it just makes me miss Teddy Long on Smackdown even more.
