Smackdown Preview 08.08.08

Last week Smackdown saw an episode of the Cutting Edge turn violent as Edge turned on his in-ring guest. Moments after Edge had invited commentator Mick Foley to come speak about facing the Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, Edge was inspired to show he has what it takes. Foley gave an inspirational speech about digging down within himself to find the former Edge, not the one who was in love with Vickie Guerrero. Edge dug down and found that "former self" and proceeded to beat up Foley in and out of the ring, before smashing him through a table in the ring. Edge looks prepared for Hell in a Cell which is a few weeks at Summerslam. But will his opponent the Undertaker have something to say on tonight's show? Will Taker's presence be felt at Smackdown?

On Saturday Night's Main Event, Jeff Hardy faced Edge in the main event match. Hardy and Edge battled back and forth for the contest, with Hardy seeming to gain control and escape several Spear attempts. However, it was the appearance of an angry MVP who came out of nowhere to smack Hardy in the head. With Hardy out of it, Edge was finally able to score a Spear and win the matchup. Now Jeff will prepare to face MVP in a grudge match at Summerslam. What will each of these superstars have in store for Smackdown?

And Triple H also is preparing for his biggest match yet at Summerslam, as he will the gigantic Great Khali. Triple H has been on a roll and was able to last defend his title against Edge at the Great American Bash. Khali continues to display impressive strength and power in the ring as he disposes of opponents. Which star will have the upperhand as we head towards Summerslam?
