Raw Preview 02.09.09

Tonight's episode of Raw features two of the biggest names in professional wrestling both making an appearance on the show to handle Raw superstars. The first wrestler epitomizes greatness as he stepped away from the ring just about a year ago at Wrestlemania 24. WWE Hall of Famer, The Nature Boy Ric Flair, makes his return to the WWE on Raw to address comments made by the cocky and arrogant Chris Jericho over the past few weeks. Jericho's comments stemmed from Flair's praise of Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler" movie, claiming that the movie depicts wrestlers like Flair; "has-beens who will do anything for the spotlight". Flair will definitely have the spotlight on Monday Night, but what will he have to say regarding the Jericho-Rourke situation? Will Flair be stepping back into the ring at Wrestlemania, or does he have something else in mind?

The second big name appearance on tonight's Raw will be the legendary Undertaker from Smackdown. Undertaker's appearance is thanks to a call from his brother and a deal from GM Stephanie McMahon. Just last week, Randy Orton went on yet another violent rampage as he and Legacy brutally attacked Shane McMahon backstage. During the ambush, Shane was knocked into Stephanie McMahon and both she and Shane hit the floor. Orton and his team beat down Shane and Randy prepared for his Punt Kick to take out another McMahon. However, Orton noticed Stephanie also down and turned his focus to take out Raw's GM. Just as Orton ran towards her to kick, Shane jumped into his path, taking a kick to the back. Due to the brutal incident, Stephanie made a deal with Kane whereby he contacted Undertaker to come to Raw and square off against Randy Orton. Kane was awarded the final spot in the Elimination Chamber, while Stephanie hopes the Undertaker will avenge Orton's attacks on both Shane and Vince McMahon. Will Undertaker be able to shut down the frontman for Legacy? Or will the heel stable have another tactic up their sleeve to prevent the beatdown?

The Intercontinental Title will also be back on the line on tonight's edition of Raw. It was just weeks ago that CM Punk finally was able to gain a victory over William Regal after 2 consecutive matches ending in disqualifications. Punk gained the IC belt in front of his hometown Chicago fans making for a great title win to start the new year off. Losing the title left a sour taste in William Regal's mouth, and just last week he and his Queen, Layla, took on CM Punk and Mickie James in mixed tag action. Regal and Layla got the better of the champ and Mickie, as Regal hit Punk in the back of the head to knock him down and gain the pinfall. With Regal's win, he's now more ready than ever to regain his recently lost title and add it to his kingdom. Will CM Punk be able to outdo the current King of the Ring and hold onto his Intercontinental Championship, or will Regal regain his gold?
