New Breaking Point PPV Matches
Due to the recent developments with Smackdown, two new matches have been added to the 2009 Breaking Point Pay-Per-View card. On the 9/4/09 Smackdown, fans were informed of these matches which come due to Rey Mysterio's Intercontinental title loss, and the current Kane versus Great Khali feud that's been going on for weeks.
The 9/4/09 Smackdown show saw WWE Superstar John Morrison defeat Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title. This will be Morrison's third reign as IC champion, as he previously held the title under his former alias "Johnny Nitro" on RAW. The win also puts Morrison onto the Breaking Point 2009 card where he will defend the belt against Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler came close to beating Mysterio at the last two Pay-Per-View events, with a near pinfall win at Summerslam 2009. It should be a great matchup between two of Smackdown's bright young stars.
The second new match that Todd Grisham and Jim Ross announced on Smackdown will be Kane versus The Great Khali in a Singapore Cane match. This comes in response to their ongoing feud which recently saw Ranjin Singh held captive by Kane in his arena dungeon area. Khali rescued his friend, and following a PPV match, Khali and Singh rushed to the ring on Smackdown to attack Kane with the Singapore Cane. Now the two monsters will be able to use this devastating weapon against each other to inflict major damage!
Earlier in the week, another Raw matchup was added to the Breaking Point 2009 card. In a rematch from Summerslam, D-Generation X (Triple H, Shawn Michaels) will face off with Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase). This time around it will be a "Submissions Count Anywhere" match, very similar to falls count anywhere, only that submission holds will be the only way to win.
