Smackdown Preview 10.16.09

For tonight's episode of Smackdown, General Manager Theodore Long has reportedly been forced to book a match between two friends who are major superstars on the roster. Tonight will see the master of the 619, Rey Mysterio, as he is forced to battle his good friend, Batista in the ring. Rey and The Animal most recently were tag team partners at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View, where they lost in a Unified Tag Team Title match to Chris Jericho & Big Show. Despite the loss, the two wrestlers continue to be friends, but soon learned they would be part of a Fatal Fourway at the Bragging Rights Pay-Per-View next Sunday. Batista and Rey know what's on the line then, but as for tonight they will need to put aside their friendship and focus on winning a match to gain momentum. Will Rey Mysterio or Batista come out victorious after tonight's match?

Also, Team Smackdown currently needs 6 more members to complete its team for Bragging Rights where they will battle Team Raw. Chris Jericho is the team captain, and on Raw he saw his partner, The Big Show, decide to side with the Raw brand. Show fought in a qualifying match against Jericho to earn his spot on the team as well. The Raw team is currently ready to go, with Big Show joing D-Generation X's Shawn Michaels and Triple H who are serving as the team captains. Three more wrestlers qualified as well, with Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger and all winning their matches on Raw. Mark Henry was victorious on last night's WWE Superstars to complete the Raw team of 7 wrestlers. On tonight's Smackdown which superstars will qualify to represent Smackdown at Bragging Rights?

We also learned on Raw that current United States Champion, The Miz, will do battle with Smackdown's current Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison. Tonight, the two former partners will be part of a new episode of their former show "The Dirt Sheet". What sort of mayhem will occur as these two attempt to co-exist in the same ring? Also, with the recent divas trade between Raw, ECW & Smackdown, there will be several new divas on Smackdown's roster. Mickie James & Beth Phoenix were both sent to the Smackdown brand, while Eve Torres and Melina are now part of Raw. Will Mickie or Beth be the first to challenge Womens Champion Michelle McCool?
