WWE Superstars Recap 10.29.09


Wrestlers from Raw, ECW & Smackdown brands once again wrestled in several interesting matches on the 10/29/09 episode of WWE Superstars. Tonight's show featured a six man tag match as the main event from Smackdown. Here's the full results for the 10/29/09 episode of WWE Superstars on WGN America.

The show opened as Michael Cole was doing commentary and Jack Swagger was headed to the ring. Michael Cole was joined by Jerry Lawler on commentary, and they reminded fans how Jack Swagger said he'll never lose. Tonight's main event is R-Truth and Cryme Tyme versus Mike Knox and Hart Dynasty.

Primo vs. Jack Swagger

Cole said he asked Swagger if losing at Bragging RIghts snapped his undefeated streak, with Swagger saying he wasn't the one pinned. Early on Primo was able to use his feet to toss Swagger across the ring, then ran and pounded on him in the corner. Swagger tried to grab Primo and come back, but Primo escaped to kick him down. Swagger took control when he whipped Primo to the corner then grabbed him on one shoulder to ram into the turnbuckle, then powerslam. Swagger hit his running splash move by using the corner ropes to launch down onto Primo.

Swagger used a chinklock to keep Primo grounded then started using a variety of moves including a legdrop. Primo was able to get up and drop Swagger's jaw down against his head, but Swagger came back by clubbing Primo down from behind. He waited for a bit before trying a leg drop, and Primo rolled away. In the corner, Primo avoided Swagger and then went off the side ropes for a springboard shot. Primo gained momentum with quick moves including dropkicks and a springboard cross body which he turned into a roll up pin. Primo used the ropes to come at Swagger, but ended up eating a clothesline, then fell victim to the Gutwrench Powerbomb.

Winner: Jack Swagger wins via pinfall over Primo.

Ask the Divas segment was shown next. One question asked what to be for Halloween. Kelly Kelly, Rosa Mendes, Bella Twins and Jillian Hall all said to dress up as them, while Eve Torres suggested being the "ultimate diva". Another question asked what their favorite Halloween memories are. Also featured was Maria & Natalya from Smackdown and Katie Lea from ECW.

Raw's diva Kelly Kelly was shown walking backstage on the way out for the next Superstars matchup.



Kelly Kelly vs. Alicia Fox

As the match started it was Fox with control as she yanked Kelly to the mat by her hair and put a wristlock on. Kelly fought out and got to the corner where she did a flip move off the turnbuckle into an armdrag. Kelly continued her flip moves around the ring and went for an early fall. She kept throwing forearms, but Alicia grabbed her for a slam across the knee and near falls.

Alicia went to slam Kelly who jumped over her back and turned it into a pinfall attempt. Alicia regained control as she knocked Kelly down, then sat on her back for a chinlock. Alicia threw Kelly over the top rope but she held on. As she came back Alicia kicker her to the apron. Kelly gained momentum with her spinning headscissors move, and a series of clotheslines followed by a takedown for a pin attempt. Kelly went for her handstand flip move towards Alicia in the corner. Alicia got her knees up to knock Kelly to the mat, then did her leg scissor kick move on the back of Kelly's head to win.

Winner: Alicia Fox wins via pinfall over Kelly Kelly.

Backstage, Natalya and Hart Dynasty were seen talking strategy with Mike Knox for their upcoming match.



Tyler Reks vs. Zack Ryder

The next match was from the ECW's roster. Josh Matthews and Byron Saxton were there for commentary. Reks had the advantage early as he held onto Ryder's wrist to clothesline him down. He kept the hold and continue to punish Ryder until the ref broke things in the corner and Ryder got a cheapshot in. Reks knocked Ryder to the outside then went for a slide dropkick. Ryder moved aside then kicked Reks down as he came outside. Back in the ring, Ryder was in control as he kicked away on Reks in the corner.

Ryder went for a pin after a lateral press, then slapped a headlock on Reks. Reks worked to get to his feet, but Ryder kneed him. Reks responded by slamming Ryder back. Back on his feet, Reks punched back at Ryder who kicked him and sent him to the ropes. Reks with a series of clotheslines and other moves followed by an innovative suplex move. Reks seemed to have control as he did a huge elbow drop, but Ryder managed to kick him from the corner and then hit Zack Attack to win it.

Winner: Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Tyler Reks.




As Superstars returned, A Big Show highlight video was shown. His equalizer is the knockout punch. Matt Striker and Todd Grisham were on hand for Smackdown commentary. The Bragging Rights PPV was highlighted with images and video shown from the seven on seven final best of 3 match. It came down to Kofi Kingston with momentum against Jericho. Show speared down Kane to remove him from the ring, and helped Kofi to the corner only to grab him and chokeslam him down. Triple H tried to come in, with Big Show delivering a knockout punch on him. Jericho took the winning pin on Kingston.




A highlight video for Wrestlemania showed that tickets for the 26th installment in 2010 are available in 9 days.

Cryme Tyme & R-Truth vs. The Hart Dynasty & Mike Knox

JTG started against Kidd, using an early headlock take down. Kidd got out and screamed at JTG. Kidd used shots to the back of JTG, but JTG escaped to come off the ropes and punch JTG from the mat. JTG had an early pinfall attempt then used a headlock to lock up Kidd. Kidd was able to tag out to Knox. JTG managed to get away from Knox' attempts to beat him up by holding against the side ropes and tagging in Shad.

Shad came in to punch away on the big man, then was whipped to the ropes where he hit a shoulder block. Knox caught him with a boot to the gut next time then threw him to the mat hard. Knox was able to toss Shad out of the ring, and Natalya moved away to avoid being fallen on. Superstars went to break.

When the show returned, it was shown that Knox tried to ram Shad into the ringpost outside, but instead Shad slipped off and sent Knox into the post. Shad was in control in the ring, but got backed to the corner where Smith tagged in. He and Knox doubleteamed Shad before Knox went to the apron. Shad fought back against Smith, but as the ref's attention was away, Kidd did a kick to Shad's back from the apron. Smith did a sit splash on Shad's back and then turned it into a submission like a Boston Crab. The heels started to work to isolate Shad and wear him down, making multiple tags. Knox went over to the apron to knock JTG off, leaving Truth there. Shad recovered and did a slam move to bring Knox down, so both men were on the mat. Shad finally made a hot tag to R-Truth as Kidd aslo got in.

Truth went on a rampage as he kept knocking Kidd around and punched Smith off the apron. Knox came in with a huge boot on Truth, prompting Shad to come in after Knox. Shad got clotheslined out by Knox, as JTG got back in to take Knox out. JTG ran to try to dive out but Smith booted him down. Smith went for R-Truth but Truth dropped down near the ropes and Smith spilled out. Truth and Kidd went for pinfalls but neither stuck. Truth finally hit his spinning corkscrew elbow to collect the pinfall win. The show ended with the heels up on the ramp and Cryme Tyme/R-Truth in the ring taunting.

Winners: Cryme Tyme & R-Truth win via pinfall over Mike Knox & Hart Dynasty.
