Raw Recap 11.30.09

Raw Recap from Baltimore, MD:

As Lawler and Cole welcomed fans to the show they said tonight Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston will finally fight one on one. Also, tonight's guest host is Verne Troyer of Austin Powers "Mini-Me" fame. JeriShow made their way to the ring in suits to start off the show.

Jericho said they were there to clear up some misconceptions, especially the fallacy that DX is the greatest tag team of all time. Jericho said they'd expose DX right now. Jericho cited the fact that JeriShow has been tag champs for over 4 months beating the best of the best tag teams, Legacy, Cryme Tyme, and even Brothers of Destruction. Jericho said DX has been around since 97' and never won the tag titles, but JeriShow has done it in much less time. Show said at TLC they'll destroy DX, making their merchandise useless and outdated like DX. Show said that Jericho and Show have held 42 titles during their careers, with Jericho the first ever undisputed champion and Show holding the WCW, WWE and ECW titles during his career. Jericho added that DX has never fought in a TLC match before.

D-Generation X decided to make their way out to challenge JeriShow's speech as they were still talking. HHH said they forgot Fact #32 that JeriShow is boring everyone to death. Hunter added that it doesn't matter if DX hasn't been champs yet. He added that DX has been part of every revolution for a decade in WWE history, and they've got a DX army of fans behind them. Michaels said in 2 weeks they will make history again, by being in their first ever TLC match, and by winning the unified tag titles for the first time ever. HHH added that when they win at TLC, they also will eliminate Jericho from Raw. Jericho taunted DX further, so HHH said he wanted Jericho tonight one-on-one. Show consulted with him briefly, then Jericho accepted on one condition. If Jericho loses he faces DX in a handicap match next week, but if Jericho wins, then HHH faces JeriShow in a handicap match. Jericho said he had four words for DX "I'm never leaving Raw".

WWE Slam of the Week showed last week's Mayflower Melee with the Divas from Raw & Smackdown, with Gobbledy Gooker at ringside. Melina, Mickie and Kelly won the match, but while Jerry Lawler was interviewing Melina in the ring, Gobbledy Gooker unmasked to reveal Maryse was back. She attacked Melina from behind bashing the turkey mask head on Melina repeatedly.

Gail Kim & Melina vs. Jillian & Maryse

Maryse & Jillian were walking backstage on their way to the match. Josh Matthews popped up to ask Maryse what caused her to attack Melina last week. Maryse said since Melina's walking around with her title there was only one thing to do. She said Melina proved to be the big turkey last week.

Late in the match, Gail tagged in Melina to come face Maryse. Melina used clotheslines and kicks to take Maryse down, before delivering double knees to her back and then a spear. Jillian came in but Melina whipped her into a clothesline by Gail. Those two went to the outside. Back in the ring, Maryse went at Melina in the corner. Melina jumped up and tried a Sunset Flip with Maryse holding the ropes. Melina came down hard on the back of her head, allowing Maryse to get her with her finishing DDT for the win.

Winners: Maryse & Jillian win via pinfall over Melina & Gail Kim.

Cole and Lawler discussed the impact Sheamus has had since arriving to Raw, as he defeated Finlay in serious fashion last week, then won the Breakthrough Battle Royal to become #1 Contender for John Cena's WWE Title. During the TLC contract signing, Sheamus gave Cena a beatdown, ultimately slamming him through a table in the ring.

Sheamus was shown walking backstage. Lawler said we'll hear from him next.

Santino Marella vs. Sheamus

Sheamus asked for the mic, so Justin Roberts dropped it and left the ring to avoid a beating. Sheamus said Cena should take him seriously now that he put him through a table last week. Sheamus said all he's got to do is slam Cena through a table to become champ. Sheamus said when he's the champion after TLC, Cena will take him serious.

Santino came to the ring and had a mic in hand as well. Santino asked Sheamus why he didn't mention him and just kept talking about Cena. Santino said Sheamus must be jealous of Santino's skin pigmentation. Santino said he's not after Sheamus' Lucky Charms. Santino said he's a 2 time IC champ and after TLC Sheamus will still have 0 titles.

Sheamus put an end to Santino's speech and began his attack with no bell. He stomped on Santino then rammed him hard in the corner before a short arm clothesline to level him. Another clothesline leveled Marella again. Sheamus looked down at him then picked up for a big boot off the ropes. Sheamus finished with his Razor's Edge throw move. Sheamus went to the outside and grabbed a table from under the ring. The ref left the ring as Sheamus got back in and leaned the table in the corner. He picked up Santino in a Bear Hug maneuver and did a running slam through the table with Santino.

Winner: No contest as match was never officially started.

Backstage, Show and Jericho were discussing their plan regarding DX with Jericho remarking how brilliant it was. They kept walking and stopped right next to Verne Troyer talking on a cell phone. He looked up and said hey to Show, then shook hands, saying Show looked good tonight. Jericho tried to get Troyer's attention but couldn't get it so he felt insulted by another Raw guest host.

The official theme song for TLC is "Bullet Soul" by Switchfoot, available now on the album Hello Hurricane (MP3 album).

Justin Roberts introduced TV and movie start, tonight's guest host, Verne Troyer, who was seated on a stool up on the ramp. Verne said after seeing Seth Green host Raw he had to try it himself. He said he enjoyed himself at WWE's Summerslam in LA, but one superstar was a real irritating jerk, The Miz. Verne kept talking until Miz' music hit and he came out from backstage. Miz started looking around over Troyer like he couldn't see him. Miz said he didn't remember seeing Verne at Summerslam. Miz began mocking the Mini-me character with lines from Austin Powers, then said maybe one day he'll become "Mini-Miz". Troyer said he's a better actor than Miz, and Summerslam showed he's better with women. Miz threatened to kick Troyer all the way through the ringposts.

Mark Henry came out to save Troyer and stood behind him. Miz called him "Fat Bastard" and continued mocking Austin Powers movie lines. Miz told Mark Henry to get off stage, because nobody will remember him. Miz did his "I'm awesome" line. Henry said something to Troyer, so then he announced a Miz versus Henry match for later on.

Also tonight, HHH versus Jericho one on one. The loser will compete in a handicap match next week. Up next, Kofi Kingston and Orton get their fight on.

Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton

Kingston was on his way down the ramp, but Cody Rhodes ambushed him from behind to whip him into the steel steps. Three refs came out to back Rhodes away. A ref looked at Kofi who was still down near the steps. Kofi was having trouble getting up and holding the ropes/apron for stability. He got up in the ring though, and Kofi agreed to do the match anyways. Orton's music hit and The Viper didn't appear from backstage. Instead, Ted Dibiase attacked Kofi from behind and started to work on the left leg repeatedly. Kofi was down now, holding his leg and pounding the mat in pain with his fist. Kofi pulled himself up by the ropes, as they showed a replay of the latest Legacy attack.

The ref asked Kofi if he still wanted to go, and Kofi said yes, despite falling onto the mat clutching his leg. Orton came out now ready to strike. The ref called for the bell and it was on. Orton immediately went after the hurt leg to ground Kofi, then kept attacking. The match was one-sided due to Legacy's pre-match ambush attacks allowing Orton to get the best of Kofi.

Kofi started to gain momentum as he punched away at Orton from the corner, and the crowd got behind him. But that was shortlived as Orton quickly hit an RKO to put Kofi down for the pin.

Post match, Orton stood Kofi up and then sat him up on the corner for a DDT to the mat. Kofi was left laying face down with his leg draped on the bottom rope as if he was comatose. Replays showed the results of the match and Orton's vicious attack.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Kofi Kingston.

Michael Cole discussed the latest feature on WWE.com involving Jake the Snake, Bobby Heenan and Million Dollar Man.

Backstage, Verne Troyer was in the VIP Lounge on a leather couch playing Xbox 360 version of Smackdown vs Raw 2010. Mark Henry walked in as they were talking trash at one another. Mark was worried about Miz saying he has no personality. Jillian came in to sing a song and said she is bursting with personality while Henry has none. MVP said Henry's all business in the ring, but he can bust a move in the clubs. He asked Jillian to sing so Henry could show off dance moves. Henry started grinding behind Jillian as she sang Beyonce's Single Ladies, then Henry suddenly fell on top of her, crushing her. She was motionless on the floor, so MVP and Henry left to prepare for the match with Miz. Troyer said "hey guys I think she's dead", then went back to playing Xbox.

Lawler and Cole ran down the lineup for the TLC PPV matches with the big Pay-Per-View in 2 weeks. The matches so far are Christian versus Shelton (Ladder), DX vs JeriShow (TLC), Batista vs Undertaker (Chairs) and Sheamus vs Cena (Tables). TLC PPV is sponsored by WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010 video game.

A red sports car came pulling into the garage backstage. John Cena got out and looked all business with the WWE belt draped across his shoulder.

WWE Champ John Cena made his way to the ring as the crowd went wild. Cena got on the mic and began talking about Sheamus' statement last week. Cena said Sheamus has yet to win and Cena is still champion. Cena said he gets a rematch if Sheamus wins and he'll use that at TLC. Cena said there's no more waiting, and tonight is his turn to make a statement. Cena said tonight it will be John Cena vs Sheamus for the WWE title. Instead of Sheamus arriving out, Carlito came out from backstage to make his return to Raw. Carlito said he doesn't like Sheamus, but likes what he represents. Carlito said all the Raw, ECW and Smackdown rosters want to see Cena lose at TLC because they're tired of him hogging the spotlight. Carlito said Sheamus will do to Cena what every other superstar wants to do, put him through a table and win the WWE title. Carlito said Cena's reign as champ will end at TLC.

Cena told Carlito he picked the wrong guy on the wrong night. Cena challenged Carlito to step up now if he doesn't like him or how he does things. Cena layed down the belt and told Carlito to do something. Carlito took a bite of his apple but before he could spit it in Cena's face, Cena clocked him. Carlito slumped against the ropes and then Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment before tossing Carlito out of the ring. Sheamus' music hit and the Celtic Warrior appeared on the ramp. Cena got on the mic and told him if he wants some to come get some. Cena was fired up, and Sheamus looked to the ring at him for a bit before heading backstage.

Backstage, Miz was walking cockily with the US Title belt on his shoulder. His match with Mark Henry is next.

Guest host Verne Troyer was back out on stage on his stool. Troyer introduced his two homies MVP and Mark Henry who came out for the next match. Both men had mics in hand. MVP told the fans to prepare themselves for an epic moment to show Henry's personality off. MVP said Henry was going to rock the mic for Baltimore and the WWE Universe. A beat started up with MVP playing the role of hype man. Mark Henry did some rapping which was off beat, but Verne Troyer and the fans kept clapping anyways. Raw went to break with the rap performance still going on.

Mark Henry vs. The Miz

Verne Troyer was still seated up on the stage watching the match. Miz tried to jump on Henry from behind, with Henry flinging him off. Miz tried to mount offense in the corner with Henry knocking him down. Miz managed to clip Henry's leg to bring him down to the mat for a near fall. From there it was a sleeper attempt with Henry backing him into the corner to break it. Miz kept attacking and had Henry slumped near the ropes.

Miz stayed in control and jumped off the corner at Henry who caught him in mid-air and hit the World's Strongest Slam to pin the US champ (non-title).

Verne said it was time to celebrate and called the ladies out. Eve, The Bella Twins and Kelly Kelly came out from backstage to dance with Verne Troyer and Mark Henry. Henry put Troyer up on his shoulder as the celebrating continued.

Winner: Mark Henry wins via pinfall over The Miz.

Chris Jericho was walking backstage, on his way out for the main event match versus HHH.

Raw will be hosted by outspoken billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, next week.

Shawn Michaels and Triple H were backstage discussing "Little People's Court". HHH said he had a dream that a little man came in and told them they had to go to People's Court. HBK said he had the same dream. Just then, Hornswoggle was there and speaking in jibberish, with subtitles saying he had no other choice than to take legal action. HBK told Hornswoggle he's got nothing on them, and then DX left. Verne Troyer came riding in on a scooter, then told Horney he needs to sue them for everything they've got. Horney nodded and gave a fist bump to Troyer.

Triple H vs. Chris Jericho

In the Raw main event if Chris Jericho loses, he is forced to face DX in a handicap match next week on Raw. If Jericho wins, then Triple H must face JeriShow in a handicap match. Jericho arrived to the ring on his own, while HHH was accompanied by Shawn Michaels who joined Lawler/Cole on commentary.

As the match was underway, Show's music hit and Big Show made his way down to the ring. The distraction allowed Jericho to kick HHH off the apron to the outside. Big Show walked by him smiling as HBK got up from his commentator's seat. Raw went to commercial break.

When Raw returned, Jericho was in control inside the ring, eventually tossing Hunter to the corner. HHH flipped over and to the outside floor. Big Show had joined the commentary team at the other end of the table. Jericho whipped HHH hard into the steel steps as Show praised his partner's work. Jericho continued wearing HHH down. HBK and Show talked trash at the commentary table while HHH made his comeback using a facebuster to the knee to put Jericho down. Jericho rolled through a Spinebuster attempt and almost had Walls of Jericho locked in. He came back to kick HHH in the back of the head and had a nearfall. Jericho with the bulldog, then tried a Lionsault only to get HHH's knees in his gut. HHH went for a Pedigree with Jericho countering for a pinfall attempt. The two men began punching away at one another, and finally HHH put Jericho down with a clothesline for a 2 count.

HHH with another Pedigree attempt, but this time Jericho turned it into a DDT for a near fall. HHH hit a Spinebuster for a near fall of his own. Big Show stood up and walked towards the ring. Michaels got up and in his face, so Show shoved Michaels into the apron. The ref was distracted looking to see if HBK was ok. Show walked by and clocked Hunter with the KO punch. The ref looked over and threw Show out from ringside. As the ref was turned away, Michaels hit Sweet Chin music in the ring on Jericho. HBK was leaving the apron as the ref saw him and threw him out from ringside too. HHH and Jericho were flat on the mat as Michaels left the ringside area. The ref made his count with both guys down. Both guys got up at 9. Jericho went for Codebreaker, HHH turned it into a Pedigree. Jericho turned that into Walls of Jericho, but HHH shoved him hard to the corner. Jericho bounced back, and HHH rolled him up for the surprise pinfall to win. Jericho will now face DX 2 on 1 next week on Raw.

HHH and HBK were on the ramp as Jericho was collecting himself in the ring. Michaels got on the mic to tell Jericho next week's his final Raw, and if he's not down with that...

Winner: Triple H wins via pinfall over Chris Jericho.
