Smackdown Preview 11.27.09

Coming off this Sunday's Survivor Series and the special 3-hour edition of Raw should make for an interesting edition of Smackdown on Friday night. At the Survivor Series 2009, Batista and Rey Mysterio squared off in a match which saw Mysterio sent out on a stretcher. The Animal had promised to hurt anyone who got in the way of him getting the World Heavyweight Title, and Mysterio was the first casualty. Batista made an appearance on Raw to explain himself further, adding that Mysterio embarassed him, so in return the Animal humiliated his former friend. Batista then threatened anyone else from the Smackdown roster who might try to embarass him. To his surprise, the Big Red Machine emerged from backstage to challenge that notion. Kane asked for Batista to try to make an example of him, but the Animal wisely backed out of the ring. Now, Smackdown's GM Teddy Long has arranged for Kane and Batista to settle things in the squared circle Friday night. Will Batista make an example of one of WWE's most monstrous stars? Or will Kane be the next superstar to embarass the Animal?

Also at Survivor Series, the Undertaker was victorious in his World Heavyweight Title defense against two of Smackdown's biggest contenders. The Unified Tag team champions Chris Jericho and Big Show failed in their quest to obtain the ultimate prize, despite giving it their all. Now the JeriShow tag team will look to defend their tag titles in 3 weeks against one of WWE's greatest tag teams, D-Generation X. On this past Monday's Raw it was announced that DX will face JeriShow in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match at TLC Pay-Per-View. With that in mind, JeriShow will need to be prepared mentally and physically to face one of their toughest challenges yet. How will Big Show and Jericho prepare for the event? What will the status be of their team following Survivor Series?

Several other Smackdown stars were victorious at the Survivor Series PPV. In the divas traditional elimination match, it was Raw's Melina and Smackdown's Mickie James as the remaining divas, standing tall over Michelle McCool. Mickie seems to be in line for a shot at McCool's Women's title, but will she be given that opportunity? Also, in another traditional elimination match, Drew McIntyre was a survivor for Team Miz along with Miz and Sheamus. As seen on Raw, Sheamus is now in the WWE title picture. The Miz is the current US Champion. What will be in store for Drew McIntyre?
