Smackdown now has its main event set for the upcoming Royal Rumble in less than 2 weeks. With last week's brutal steel cage match, Rey Mysterio managed to outsmart The Animal Batista en route to escaping the steel structure. With the victory, Mysterio will move on to face The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight title at Royal Rumble 2010 in Atlanta. Mysterio has faced Undertaker before and was making his way towards another possible title victory, but it was Batista interrupting their match. Now it appears Mysterio has his shot to once again become the World Champion. How will Mysterio prepare for his upcoming title match? What will Batista have to say regarding last week's cage match?
Meanwhile, The Undertaker may have the challenge issued by Shawn Michaels on his mind. Michaels from WWE Raw wants The Undertaker in a Wrestlemania rematch from last year. The Heartbreak Kid has stated he can beat the Undertaker, as last year he took him to the brink of his first loss at Wrestlemania 25. Undertaker told Michaels that he failed in his attempt so he would not grant the rematch. However, there is a possibility for Michaels; should he win the 2010 Royal Rumble and if Undertaker is still World Champion, HBK can take his shot at the Undertaker. Will there be any more discussion of this potential blockbuster match on tonight's Smackdown? Will Undertaker have any more to say about it, or will we hear from HBK again?
Speaking of the Royal Rumble, Smackdown already has several of its stars including Dolph Ziggler, Chris Jericho and CM Punk as participants in the match. So far over half of the field of 30 has been announced. The superstars of Smackdown will look to prepare themselves for the huge battle royal at the upcoming Pay-Per-View. Also, more superstars will look to qualify and get their chance at a ticket to Wrestlemania 26. Will more participants be announced on tonight's show? How will the current participants prepare themselves for the match?
