Raw Preview 07/26/10
With tonight's episode of Raw, the road to Summerslam 2010 continues! Just last week, the WWE Universe learned of John Cena's backup plan to take out The Nexus. Cena had been secretly assembling his own team of six other wrestlers, to challenge the 7 man faction known as Nexus. As of the end of last week's show, the team was revealed to include Edge, Chris Jericho, R-Truth, John Morrison, The Great Khali, and Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. Along with Cena they'll challenge Nexus at Summerslam in a 7-on-7 tag team battle. With the team able to chase Nexus out of the arena, what will be next in the confrontations between these two teams?
Last week's show also saw Mr. Money in the Bank from Raw, The Miz, put the current champion on notice and nearly cash in for the title! While Sheamus had been in-ring boasting about his truce with The Nexus and letting Randy Orton know he'd be defeated just like John Cena, The Miz showed up with a reminder; the MITB briefcase! Miz told Sheamus that it's him who controls the fate of the WWE title, because he can cash in whenever he wants. From there, the anonymous GM flashed the lights and sent forth an email, ordering Sheamus to participate in a match against Evan Bourne. The Miz watched intently from ringside, and although Sheamus defeated Bourne, The Miz was in the ring after to bash Sheamus down with the briefcase. He even hit a Skullcrushing Finale driving Sheamus face-first into the briefcase. Almost about to cash in, The Miz was moments away from becoming new WWE Champ. That is until R-Truth showed up to spoil the party. Miz escaped with the briefcase and will wait for another opportunity. What will happen next between The Miz and R-Truth though?
And finally, the WWE Universe is still in the dark as to who is calling the shots on Raw. For several weeks now there's been an anonymous GM sending emails to Michael Cole. The GM has issued orders, demanded truces and set up matches including title shots. Still, the fans have no clue who this 'mystery GM' is that's running Raw. While many have speculated that it could be Stone Cold Steve Austin, Roddy Piper or even good ol' Jim Ross, there's still been no official word. Will the anonymous GM finally reveal him or herself tonight?
