Raw Results 12/20/10

WWE Raw Results from University of TX:

Justin Roberts introduced The Miz who is still WWE Champ after last night's TLC PPV. Miz defeated Orton in a Tables Match. CM Punk and Jerry Lawler were on commentary, with Punk defending Miz's defense of the title last night.

In ring, Miz boasted about still being the WWE Champion. He said he knows the crowd was expecting to hear "the new WWE Champion...Randy Orton." Miz was interrupted during his speech by Alex Riley who came out dressed in a gray cloak and chains as "The Ghost of Christmas Past." Riley said he was there to show Miz the error of his ways. Miz had them show footage from 3 weeks ago when Miz defended his title against Lawler in the TLC match.

Miz said he doesn't regret that moment or any of the things he's done in the past. Just then, he was interrupted again. This time it was "The Ghost of Christmas Present," with Michael Cole dressed in all black cloak, hat and chains. Cole said Miz should be ashamed of himself after last night's TLC PPV title defense. Miz said the actions of a champion are defined by one sentence only: "Are they still WWE Champion after the match?" Cole and Riley both joined Miz in the ring for his speech.

Miz held up the WWE belt saying Miz can put this image on his Christmas cards. Just then, the ominous music hit again, but this time a picture of the demonic Miz girl appeared on the Titantron. Her lips started moving, saying she was Ghost of Christmas Future. She warned Miz about his future match against new #1 contender, John Morrison. Miz said he is the future and the face of the company right now.

John Morrison arrived out to confront Miz in the ring. Morrison reminded Miz that he's the #1 contender now. He said he's beat Miz in the past and present, and knows he can beat him in the future to become new WWE Champion. Alex Riley got into Morrison's face and shoved him. Morrison rushed over and decked Riley, then jumped on him to attack. Miz exited the ring quick. Sheamus rushed to the ring and attacked Morrison, working over his leg after last night.

Chaos broke out as Lawler punched down Riley when he and Miz came near the commentators table. The Raw GM sent forth another email which Michael Cole read. The GM booked a mach involving the ghosts of Miz's past present and future. It'll be a six man tag match: Miz, Riley and Sheamus vs Morrison, Lawler and Orton. Miz had backed all the way up the ramp, but Orton came out from backstage to knock him down before a commercial break.

They showed a video clip from last night's TLC PPV where John Cena pulled down a string of about 10 chairs onto a table on top of Wade Barrett in their Chairs Match. Cena will be back on Raw tonight.

Eve vs. Melina vs. Alicia Fox
Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match

WWE Divas Champ Natalya joined the commentators for the match to provide guest commentary.

There were several traded pinfalls in the match. Melina got up on the corner and tried to use her legs to kick Alicia. Alicia grabbed Melina and Powerbombed her to the mat. Eve took contro of Alicia Fox and hit a stannding moonsault for a near fall. Michael Cole kept taunting Natalya during the match, saying she had 18 chances to win the Divas title.

In an impressive spot, Alicia was lifting Melina up on her shoulders. Eve was on the other corner and went for a flying bodypress at Melina. Melina shifted her weight into a pinfall, causing Eve to miss on the bodypress. Melina grabbed the winning pin.

Post-match, Natalya went into the ring to congratulate Melina. Natalya reached a hand out for Melina to shake. Melina looked at her then slapped Natalya in the face before walking out of the ring and up the ramp.

Winner: Melina wins via pinfall over Alicia Fox to become #1 Contender for the WWE Divas Championship.

Backstage, the Bellas were arguing about who Daniel Bryan likes more. Daniel Bryan came walking up to them, and each Bella took an arm to lead him out to the ring. Cole asked what these two women see in this nerd.

When Raw returned, Cole said they've learned Nexus probably won't be around tonight. Punk said he wouldn't show up after how barbaric Cena was towards them last night. Cena will be there live tonight.

Daniel Bryan vs. William Regal

The Bella Twins escorted Bryan to the ring for the match. CM Punk noted that Regal had a hand in training Daniel Bryan. At one point in the match, Bryan tried to slam Regal, but Regal countered it and turned it into a takedown.

Regal whipped Bryan hard to the corner then rushed at him to clothesline him down for a near fall. Regal started to wear Bryan down with a full nelson, but Bryan got to his feet to escape it. Regal got Bryan down to the mat for the Regal stretch, but Bryan managed to block. Moments later, Regal tried to use another slam move, but Bryan blocked that and then forced Regal into the LeBell Lock. Regal tapped out quick.

Post-match, Regal gave Bryan a round of applause. The Bella Twins joined Bryan in the ring with each planting kisses on him. Bryan stumbled around seeming dizzy after that.

Winner: Daniel Bryan wins via submission over William Regal.

John Morrison was in the locker room backstage getting ready. Orton told Morrison it was a good win for him last night. Orton warned Morrison that if he happens to win the WWE title, he's coming after him. Morrison said he'll be ready and he trusts Orton will too. Orton said that's his first mistake, don't trust him.

Santino was seen backstage getting a massage. They showed Tamina walking on Santino's back to massage him. Just then, Maryse walked in and began to taunt Tamina saying she and Dibiase will beat them later tonight. Maryse and Tamina got in a shoving match with both divas standing on Santino's back. Vlad Kozlov came in to grab Tamina off Santino, while Dibiase pulled Maryse off Santino. Santino was stuck on the ground.

Mark Henry was backstage talking with Gail Kim about how the air is so much fresher around there. Gail said it's because it's the first time in six months that Nexus hasn't been on Raw. Just then, Vickie Guerrero and Dolph came walking past with Vickie letting out an "Excuse me!" Henry said "I take that back the air is not fresher around here."

Santino Marella & Tamina vs. Ted Dibiase & Maryse

Early on, Santino needed Tamina to crack his back from behind. He went at Dibiase, threatening him with the Cobra then tossing Dibiase down. Dibiase came right back with a punch to the face to drop Santino.

Later on, Santino did his drop down split and followed with a diving punch on Dibiase. He was prepared to hit the Cobra, but Maryse tagged in when he wasn't looking. Maryse turned the Cobra fist around and hit it into Santino's face. Tamina was able to tag in though and delivered a Superkick to Maryse's face. From there, Tamina pulled Maryse over to the corner area and got up on the corner. Santino rushed across the ring to try to use the Cobra on Dibiase. Dibiase pulled the ropes down so Santino went to the floor. Tamina measured, then jumped off the corner for the Superfly Splash to win it.

Post-match, Tamina picked up Santino on her shoulder and carried him backstage.

Winners: Santino Marella & Tamina win via pinfall over Ted Dibiase & Maryse.

John Cena was shown walking backstage. A male WWE staff handed him a holiday poinsetta plant. Cena thanked him then walked up to a female staff member and gave her the plant. He drank some of the drink sitting on a table next to her then continued walking.

CM Punk thanked My Chemical Romance for "Na Na Na" the official theme song of 2010 TLC PPV.

John Cena made his way to the ring to the applause of the University of Texas crowd. Cena said tonight would be monumental and he was going to do something he's never done before. Cena rushed out of the ring and hugged a guy in the front row. He got back in the ring saying he just hugged it out with "an I Hate Cena fan." The camera showed the guy's shirt which said "I Hate Cena." From there, Cena did the Dougie, then sang "Deep in the Heart of Texas" with the fans, then showed footage of last night's Chairs match when he let about 10 chairs drop on Wade Barrett. Cena had the footage shown from two other angles and then in slow-mo. CM Punk kept berating Cena saying how he thinks this must be cute and it's not. Cena then talked about how he got to each and every member of Nexus last night. Cena said he now plans to win the Royal Rumble and going on to Wrestlemania.

Just then, Vickie Guerrero came out with her "Excuse Me" bit several times. Vickie Guerrero said Cena was not the only one who won a match last night. Cena said there's so much hatred in the air he can't hear what Vickie's saying. Cena kept cracking up because the crowd kept drowning out Vickie's talking. It went on for several minutes including "You suck" chants as well. Cena finally let Cena talk near his ear. She said Dolph won last night too and is still IC champ. Vickie said she had a clip to show, but instead it was the clip of Lawler making jokes about Vickie during The Slammys.

Vickie started demanding an apology from Lawler, saying Dolph will beat him up if he doesn't. Instead, Lawler and Cena began to trade fat jokes about Vickie. Eventually, it lead to Dolph Ziggler getting into Cena's face in the ring. The Raw GM sent an email saying if Vickie wants to threaten that her boyfriend will beat people up, he can try right now. The GM booked Ziggler versus Cena in a match, right now.

John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler

The match started up after a commercial break. The two broke apart several times early on with Vickie on the outside yelling at Ziggler for encouragement. Ziggler came over and hammered Cena down to take an early advantage.

Cena finally gained some energy after taking a beating from Ziggler. He slammed Dolph to the mat and crawled over, but Ziggler kicked out at two. Cena nearly scored the AA moments later, but Ziggler countered and hit Cena with a face plant. Ziggler had the near fall with Cena barely escaping before a commercial break.

After the break, Cena and Ziggler collided in the ring, falling to the mat. Vickie looked worried on the outside. Mike Chioda started a count on both guys as they got up. Ziggler hit a drop down neck breaker on Cena for another near fall. Ziggler waited for Cena to stand up then dropkicked him in the chin for another near fall. Moments later he tried again, but Cena avoided it. Cena was back up and gained serious momentum, eventually hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle after taunting Vickie.

Cena went for the AA, but Ziggler elbowed out of it. Ziggler put a sleeper hold on Cena, but Cena flipped him over and then put the STF on. Ziggler was struggling not to tap. Vickie got on the apron to distract the ref, just as Ziggler tapped out. Cena got up thinking he won, then saw Vickie yelling at the ref. Cena went over to complain. Ziggler rushed Cena and hit the ZigZag then took a pinfall which Cena still kicked out of.

The finish saw Ziggler take the corner turnbuckle off, and even try to use the IC belt to smash down Cena. Cena ducked the belt shot, and got Ziggler in the AA to finally win it.

Post-match, Cena was celebrating on the corner. CM Punk left the commentator spot and got in the ring with a chair to smash Cena down. Punk left the ring looking angry, then stormed up the ramp backstage. Cena got up fuming, staring up the ramp about what just happened.

Winner: John Cena wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler.

They showed a replay of the finish, with Cena winning by Attitude Adjustment. When Cena was celebrating, CM Punk got in the ring and smashed Cena down with a steel chair.

Outside in the parking lot, Josh Matthews caught up with CM Punk was he was getting into his car. Matthews asked what that was all about. Punk said Cena only understands aggression, so he gave him a taste of his own medicine with a chair tonight.

Backstage in the locker room, Jerry Lawler was getting ready. King Sheamus came in and told Lawler he's the only king around there. Lawler said he's been the king for years. Sheamus said the king will be dead after tonight's tag match then yelled out "Long Live the King!"

Backstage, Vickie was yelling at Dolph Ziggler for not getting her an apology. Dolph said he wants a rematch against Cena on tomorrow's Smackdown to make Cena pay. Vickie said she'll make that happen, then said she'll make it a handicap match, her and Ziggler versus Cena.

Alex Riley and The Miz were introduced for the next match, the six man tag match. Raw went to commercial break.

Jerry Lawler, John Morrison & Randy Orton vs. Alex Riley, The Miz & King Sheamus

They showed footage of Miz on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The Roots played Miz's theme song and Miz joked about being on the cover of Smackdown vs Raw 2011.

John Morrison was introduced, then Lawler and finally Orton who got a huge pop from the University of TX crowd. Josh Matthews was now on commentary with Cole to cover the match since CM Punk left earlier. Morrison got an early advantage on Alex Riley, kicking him into the corner, then tagging in Jerry Lawler to kick Riley in the gut. Lawler hit a huge dropkick to take down Riley.

Lawler eventually got his hands on Miz and gained control, then made a tag to Orton. Miz quickly retreated out of the ring with Orton chasing him around. Miz slid back in and rushed over to tag Sheamus in. Raw went to commercial. The show returned with Sheamus keeping the heels in control of Jerry Lawler.

Lawler finally made a hot tag after escaping Sheamus. Morrison rushed in and began to take it to Sheamus, but JMo was favoring his hurt knee from last night and earlier tonight. Sheamus tried to charge Morrison in the corner, but JMo avoided it then did the heel kick off the corner. JMo was going to go for Starship Pain, but Sheamus swiped his leg and Morrison hit his head on the mat. The Miz tagged in and went to work on Morrison including the hurt leg.

The heels continued to punish Morrison, not allowing him to make a tag out, and working over his hurt knee. Morrison managed to counter a move by Miz near the ropes and tossed Miz out of the ring. Miz was quick to get back in and prevented the tag though.

Morrison eventually escaped, making the tag to The Viper. Orton came in and finally got his hands on The Miz. He hit a variety of moves including a DDT from the middle ropes. Orton had the pinfall, but Sheamus rushed in to make the save. Morrison came in and took Sheamus out of the ring over the ropes. Orton got down preparing for the RKO. Alex Riley rushed in to try to prevent it, but Orton hit the RKO on him instead.

Orton ended up back in the corner after Miz countered him. Lawler slapped Orton's back and came in. Lawler took his wrestling straps down and started to punch away on Miz. Miz grabbed Lawler though to prepare for the Skullcrushing Finale. Orton was back up and rushed over for the RKO on Miz. The ref was busy with Riley, then turned to see Lawler pinning Miz for the win.

Winners:

Lawler and Orton were celebrating in the ring post-match. All of a sudden the lights flashed and email sound chimed. Cole got up to read the email which reminded fans Smackdown airs on USA Tuesday night at 9PM EST.
