Smackdown Results from New Orleans, LA:

Josh Matthews opened the show on commentary, days ahead of the TLC PPV 2010. Also on hand were Matt Striker and Michael Cole. Todd Grisham was not there. Edge arrived to the ring to start off the show.

Edge talked about how bizarre things have been between him, Paul Bearer and Kane. Edge said he couldn't put things into words, so he had a video montage put together. The video showed all the various scenarios with dummies and the real Paul Bearer that Edge put Kane through, ending with Kane pushing the real Bearer over the ledge.

Edge reminded the fans that Kane terrorized the entire Smackdown roster after Undertaker was hurt. Edge said Kane also turned Bearer against Taker so they could bury Taker alive. Edge said it was time for someone to face Kane at his own game. Edge said finally the master of the mind games has been "one-upped." Edge said it will all be worth it Sunday at TLC in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Edge vowed to become a ten-time Champion when it was all said and done Sunday.

Michael Cole said The Miz will make an appearance on Smackdown tonight, fresh off his Jimmy Kimmel interview this past week. Kimmel discussed how Miz isn't one of the most popular superstars, and showed the still shot of the demon girl's face in the Raw crowd after Miz beat Orton. Tonight on Smackdown Miz goes against Rey Mysterio.

Edge went to meet with Teddy Long in his office backstage. Teddy asked Edge why he's out there provoking Kane. Long said he's not even sure if Kane will show up on Sunday because he's so distrought. Edge asked Long what he's going to do then, because he doesn't want to win the title by forfeit Sunday. Both Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio entered the office too, saying they deserved title shots. Long decided if Kane doesn't show up Sunday, it's a Triple Threat TLC match between these three for the title. If Kane shows, it's a Fatal Fourway TLC match.

Kaval & Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler

They showed highlights of how Jack Swagger rushed to the ring last Friday to intervene in the Kofi vs Ziggler IC title match. The ref ruled it a DQ, then Swagger put the Anklelock on Kofi outside the ring. On Sunday, Ziggler defends the IC title against Kofi and Swagger in a Ladder match.

In tonight's match, Kaval and Swagger were both down on the mat late. Kaval finally managed to leap over to tag Kofi, while Swagger tagged in Ziggler. Kofi had numerous take downs on Ziggler, then got riled up to hit the double leg drop. Kofi began to signal the Trouble in Paradise, but Ziggler ducked it. Kofi managed to use a unique takedown pinfall. Swagger rushed in to break it up, but then Kaval took Swagger out over the ropes. Kofi was distracted looking out of the ring and Ziggler went for a schoolboy pinfall. Kofi escaped then hit Trouble in Paradise for the win.

Post-match, Swagger looked like he was helping Ziggler stand up. Instead, Swagger punched Ziggler back down. Vickie got in the ring screaming at Swagger, who stared at her then left to back up the ramp.

Winners: Kofi Kingston & Kaval win via pinfall over Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler.

Jack Korbela interviewed WWE Champion The Miz backstage. Alex Riley was also standing by. Miz said the reason he's on Smackdown is because he's the most "Must See" Champion in WWE history. Miz talked about all of his events from the past week, and said tonight he'll beat Mysterio again. Miz said Saturday is Tribute to the Troops and Sunday he'll retain his title by putting Orton through a table.

They had a new segment "Straight Outta Brooklyn with JTG." JTG tried to give jokes and one-liners about various stars like Miz, Alberto Del Rio and celebrities. They had piped in laughter after the jokes.

They showed a video recorded earlier. NXT Season 3 winner Kaitlyn was telling Kelly that what Tyson Kidd said to her on Slammys was uncalled for and that she looked really good. Kelly thanked her. Just then, Drew McIntyre walked in and Kaitlyn took off. Drew told Kelly if he was there when Kidd made those comments that Kidd would still be paying for it now. Kelly asked when Drew became her friend, and he said "how about now?" Kelly was hesitant saying she's seen how Drew is in the ring and around WWE. Drew tried to convince her he's different outside the ring and asked "how about tonight?" Kaitlyn re-entered and got between them saying tonight Kelly has plans because it's girl's night. Drew said maybe another time and walked out.

Time for a Dashing Cody Rhodes grooming tip. This time Rhodes talked about hairstyle and using products. Dashing said the smart decision is to use a blow dryer that feels comfortable in your hand. They showed Rey Mysterio walking backstage on his way out to face The Miz.

Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz

Michael Cole continued to hype up The Miz as the match got started, saying why he thought Miz should have won the Superstar of the Year Slammy Award. At one point early on, Mysterio tried to jump up on the corner, but Miz swiped his leg out and Rey fell to the mat. Alex Riley was able to get a cheap shot in on Mysterio from the outside.

Later in the match, Rey dropkicked Miz against the middle rope and was preparing for the 619. Riley jumped on the apron to distract the ref. As Rey ran against the ropes for the 619, Alberto Del Rio had arrived ringside and snagged his legs to trip him. Miz tried to steal a pinfall, but Rey kicked out of it, then ran across the ring and dropkicked Alberto Del Rio on the outside. From there, Rey tried to do his dive off the top rope onto Miz, but Miz got both knees up and stole the pinfall victory.

Post-match, Del Rio got involved beating up on Rey. Edge ran down to try to make a save, but Miz decided to get into it as well. Finally, Smackdown GM Teddy Long came out and said later tonight all four will compete in a tag match.

They showed footage from Raw where the anonymous Raw GM booked a Tables match involving Beth Phoenix and Natalya versus LayCool.

They started to insult the crowd saying nobody out there knows what diva is. Michelle and Layla said the Tables match is off for Sunday. Just then, Natalya and Beth arrived out carrying a table wrapped in Christmas paper. They set it up against the ropes.

LayCool kept insulting Natalya and Beth saying maybe they should join the men's division. Finally, Natalya told Beth to do the honors. Beth pulled the wrapping paper off the table. It was a completely painted pink table with mock pictures of Michelle and Layla with "LayFool" and "Flawed" on their hats. LayCool got upset and rushed over to try to attack Beth and Natalya. Michelle ended up escaping the ring, while Beth and Natalya went for a double suplex on Layla through the table. Michelle managed to get into the ring and save Layla from being put through the table.

Backstage, the tag champs Santino Marella and Vlad Kozlov were shown walking down the hall.

Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella vs. Chavo Guerrero & Tyler Reks

The commentators talked about how Chavo had a shot at the tag titles last week with not much success. Striker discussed how Chavo made a great choice in Tyler Reks. Early on Reks managed to get the upperhand on Santino, prompting Santino to go over and tag in Vlad. Reks got the upperhand on him as well, showing off his strength. At one point, Chavo slapped Reks in the back to tag in, surprising Reks.

Kozlov took control against Chavo, ramming him into the corner, as Santino tagged back in. Santino missed on the diving headbutt, so Chavo started to take control of thigs, beating on Santino. The commentators ran down the lineup for Sunday's TLC including a possible Fatal 4-Way for the World Heavyweight Title involving Mysterio, Del Rio, Edge and Kane.

Ricardo Rodriguez was introduced so he could introduce Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio made his way to the ring for the main event tag match prior to a commercial break.

Edge & Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio & The Miz

Early on after Miz got the advantage on Mysterio, Del Rio tagged in to punish Mysterio more. Del Rio settled into a reverse chinlock to try to wear Rey down on the mat. Rey got to his feet and elbowed out of it, but Del Rio hammeredh im back down. Del Rio tossed Mysterio out under the bottom rope to the outside floor.

Rey managed to make a brief comeback as he used kicks from the ropes to try to escape Miz. Miz used a drop toehold to trip Rey down before he could make a tag to Edge. Edge finally made the tag in and gained momentum against Miz, taking him down numerous times. Edge started to prepare for the Spear, but Alex Riley grabbed Edge's leg from the outside. Edge still managed to DDT Miz to the mat for a pinfall, with Del Rio rushing into the ring to break it up.

Meanwhile they showed camera footage backstage of all sorts of WWE personell and staff laid out on the floor. Kane was seen smashing a door open on his way to the arena.
