Smackdown Recap from Los Angeles, CA:

Smackdown opened with highlights of One Night Stand's Tables, Ladders & Chairs match between Undertaker and Edge. Up for grabs was the World Heavyweight title, and Undertaker's career was also on the line. Taker seemed to have Edge down, but La Familia got into the ring to interfere. Taker fought off Chavo, Bam Neely, Ryder & Hawkins then began to climb the ladder towards the belt. Edge got up in the ring and pushed the ladder over against the top rope, causing Undertaker to fall off and crash through several tables outside the ring. Edge then climbed the ladder to grab the World Heavyweight title and end Undertaker's career.

All of La Familia except Edge were in the ring to start Smackdown. Vickie Guerrero was introduced as Smackdown GM who kept attempting to speak but the loud crowd booed and chanted to interrupt. Vickie then introduced the man responsible for banishing Undertaker from WWE, and the new World Heavyweight champion, Edge. Vickie held up a glass of champagne in the ring with the rest of La Familia as Edge made his way proudly down the ramp. Edge gave a long kiss to Vickie in the ring before addressing the fans. Edge thanked all of La Familia for their help and support and then told Vickie "You Complete me" in an ode to the movie Jerry MaGuire. Edge also congratulated himself for ending Undertaker's career this past Sunday, as fans booed.

Edge made a toast to "The Deadman" saying "may he rest in peace", but just then the lights in the arena went out. As the lights came back, Edge screamed out "Got ya!" as if he pulled a prank of the fans. Edge then said as one thing dies, something else blossoms. Vickie then announced that on July 11th, Edge & herself will get married on Smackdown. All of La Familia toased the news as the fans kept booing. Edge was getting drenched with champagne in the ring, but just then Batista's music came on.

The Animal came to the ramp with a mic and asked why he wasn't invited to their party. Batista then said he hopes Edge & Vickie make each other miserable. Batista then issued a challenge to Edge for the title. Vickie made the announcement that Batista has to earn a title shot. Tonight Batista will be in an 8 Man Tag match. Batista will have 3 partners of Vickie's choosing to face Edge, Chavo, Ryder & Hawkins. Edge added if Batista doesn't prove himself he'll never get a title shot against Edge again.

Smackdown Rewind showed highlights of last week's match between Finlay and Chuck Palumbo. The action went to the outside with Chuck going after Hornswoggle under the ring. Finlay came out to stop him, but Chuck ended up knocking Finlay down, then used a chain off his motorcycle to punch Finlay down. The match ended with a DQ on Chuck Palumbo, setting up tonight's Belfast Brawl.

Finlay was accompanied to the ring by Hornswoggle, who scurried under the ring. As Chuck Palumbo rode around the ring on his motorcycle, Hornswoggle came back out and got on the back of Chuck's chopper. Palumbo became upset, so Hornswoggle jumped off and ran back under the ring to hide. Finlay was able to use the distraction to dropkick Chuck through the ropes as the bell sounded.

The Belfast Brawl was fought under No DQ rules, allowing both men to use weapons and fight anywhere in the arena. Chuck continued to try to use a trashcan, but it backfired on him, as Finlay dropkicked it into him, or tripped him onto it. At one point in the match, Chuck went to the outside to grab the chain from his motorcycle as a weapon. Chuck re-entered the ring with Finlay down, preparing to use the chain. Hornswoggle got into the ring behind Chuck and pushed him. Chuck turned around and shoved Hornswoggle to the mat. As Chuck was about to go after the leprechaun, Finlay grabbed the chain and was able to punch Chuck as he turned around. Finlay took the pinfall victory, then did an Irish Jig with Hornswoggle in the ring. MVP was shown sitting up in a skybox afterwards, watching the match.

Winner: Finlay wins the Belfast Brawl by pinfall over Chuck Palumbo.

Big Show made his way down to the ring, all smiles. Show still had a visibly beaten up eye from his Singapore Cane match at One Night Stand. Show got in the ring and reminded fans he won the match and is now #1 contender for the ECW title. Show had highlights from the match shown up on the Titantron. Show said he's now preparing for the next big challenge, Kane. Just then, Mark Henry's music hit and the World's Strongest Man came to the top of the ramp.

Henry got on the mic and began to taunt Show about his recent Extreme Rules match, saying Show doesn't look like championship material with his eye swollen. Show said even with a bad eye he can see that Henry's full of it. Show challenged Henry to come face him in the ring, and Henry walked down to the apron. Henry went to get in but then backed off laughing. Henry backed up the ramp, with Show in the ring ready to throw punches.

Backstage, Cousin Sal from the Jimmy Kimmel Show was shown with Roddy Piper, preparing for his match. Piper challenged Sal to slap him in the face a few times.

Michael Cole introduced footage about the WWE recently receiving the Corporate Patriot Award at a Film Festival. The award was given to the WWE's devotion to the US troops. Ric Flair accepted the award for WWE and was present to speak about the WWE's efforts.

The Great Khali vs. Deuce & Domino
2 on 1 Handicap Match

Music producer Rick Rubin of Beastie Boys fame was shown in the audience before the match. Cole noted that Khali hasn't fought on Smackdown since Undertaker used his Triangle Choke submission on him in the ring. Deuce went at Khali early on with several punches, but Khali shoved him away. Khali grabbed Deuce's skull off the ropes then shoved him down hard to the mat. Deuce crawled over to tag in Domino, who tried to go at Khali fast. Khali delivered a huge boot to knock Domino down then started to beat him up in the corner. Khali lifted Domino up with both hards and used the Khali Bomb to slam him to the mat. Khali did the same thing to Deuce, leaving both men down, then took the pin on Domino.

Winner: The Great Khali wins via pinfall over Deuce & Domino.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero called in all of the Smackdown & ECW divas. Vickie told the divas that Smackdown needs a Women's Champion crowned. Vickie said since they are in Los Angeles, they're in the place where dreams come true. Vickie said tonight will be a "Golden Dreams Match". The winner of that match will be one of the competitors in the first ever "WWE Divas Championship".

Highlights were replayed of the Cousin Sal and Santino Marella feud which started weeks ago on the Jimmy Kimmel Late Night Show. In consecutive weeks, Cousin Sal smashed a birthday cake in Santino's face. On Raw, Santino was enraged and challenged Sal to a wrestling match. Roddy Piper accepted on Sal's behalf, then helped Sal start training for the event.

Cousin Sal vs. Santino Marella

Cousin Sal was accompanied to the ring by Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy Kimmel's girlfriend Sarah Silverman was shown in the audience as well. Sal wore a kilt to the match but then took it off to reveal an official blue and yellow wrestling uniform.

Santino offered a handshake but then pulled it away as a joke to taunt Sal. Santino picked up Sal then slammed him to the mat early on. Santino grappled with Sal down on the mat, but Sal was able to counter and flip him over. The two got to their feet again, and Sal put Santino in a strong side headlock. Santino began to argue with the ref allowing Sal to punch him, then pick him up on his shoulders for an airplane spin. Sal was able to deliver a suplex in the ring and went for a quick pin, with Santino kicking out. Piper got up on the apron to distract the referee. Santino went to charge against the ropes, but Jimmy Kimmel grabbed his foot. Santino turned to confront Kimmel, allowing Sal to grab his leg and roll him up for a pinfall victory.

After the match, Jimmy Kimmel got in the ring to celebrate with Sal. Santino got up and shoved Sal down then went at Kimmel. Rowdy Roddy Piper got into the ring behind Santino. As Santino turned, Roddy delivered a right hand punch to level Santino who rolled out of the ring.

Winner: Cousin Sal wins via pinfall over Santino Marella.

As Smackdown returned from commercial, MVP was shown talking on his cellphone up in a box seat in the arena. A replay was shown of Cousin Sal's victory over Santino Marella, as well as the in-ring aftermath.

Back in the locker room, WWE Diva Eve came in to interview Cousin Sal who was holding ice on his shoulder. Eve keep trying to interview Sal, but Jimmy Kimmel grabbed the mic to answer his questions. Kimmel said he already booked the next opponent for Sal, and in walked the Big Show. Sal immediately put Jimmy Kimmel into a headlock and took him down. Big Show picked up Sal and started to beat him up off camera, with Jimmy Kimmel shouting "you'll be fine Sal!"

The Miz and Morrison were shown somewhere in the arena taunting Hornswoggle. The two played Keep Away with his green hat. for a while, then Miz put it on and started to make fun of Hornswoggle. All of a sudden, Finlay appeared behind Miz and grabbed the hat. Miz and Morrison told Finlay they really need to get going. Hornswoggle showed up with a Super Soaker and sprayed both of them. The angry tag team champs stormed off glaring at Finlay & Hornswoggle.

Edge was shown talking strategy to La Familia backstage in an office. Edge cleared out everyone except Chavo, then asked if he'd be Edge's best man at he & Vickie's wedding. Edge gave Chavo a hug with Chavo looking confused.

Golden Dreams Match

The rules here stated the first diva to climb up the and grab a Golden Star off a pole in the ring corner wins. Competing in the match were Kelly Kelly, Layla, Maryse, Cherry, Natalya, Victoria & Michelle McCool.

Maryse went for the star as soon as the bell rang, but several divas pulled her down from the corner. Cherry was able to toss Maryse over the ropes. Several divas kept trying to climb the corner, but were taken down. The ring eventually saw just Michelle & Natalya. Michelle knocked Natalya down then kicked her out of the ring. Michelle started to make the climb, but Maryse came in to stop her. Michelle was able to eventually get to the apron and hit Maryse with several kicks, knocking her down. Michelle went to climb for the star again, but Victoria went at her. The two divas began to fight up on the corner. Out of nowhere, Natalya came into the ring and grabbed Victoria's legs. Natalya was able to slam both Victoria and Michelle down from the corner, then climbed to grab the Golden Star.

Winner: Natalya wins the Golden Dreams match and will be 1 of the competitors for the Diva Championship match.

Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Vladimir Kozlov

Yang went for a quick kick then tried to grab Kozlov by the leg. Kozlov put him into a hold then shoved him to the mat. Off the ropes, Yang tried to kick Kozlov. Kozlov ducked Yang's spin kick then delivered a huge boot to take Yang down. Kozlov applied a Half Boston Crab submission, but Yang crawled to the bottom rope. Yang was able to roll away from an elbow drop, then kicked Kozlov to the back of his head. Yang went to the corner ropes and tried to Moonsault onto Kozlov. Kozlov avoided it, while Yang landed on his feet. Yang seemed to hurt his leg and Kozlov ran into him head down to knock Yang down. Kozlov finished Yang off with a belly to belly throw to win it.

Winner: Vladimir Kozlov wins via pinfall over Jimmy Wang Yang.

Backstage, Eve asked Batista about his upcoming tag team matchup. Batista said he's not worried about his partners, and if he gets his hand on Edge, he'll get his.

Batista, Funaki, Nunzio & Colin Delaney vs. Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Ryder & Hawkins

La Familia wheeled Vickie Guerrero down to ringside to watch the match. MVP was shown again up in a box seat watching the event. Batista's three partners were handpicked by Vickie Guerrero. Batista looked to be in disbelief, shaking his head as his three partners were introduced.

Batista seemed to be in control early until he tagged in Colin Delaney. La Familia took control by ganging up on Nunzio, Colin Delaney & then Funaki. Edge was taking it to Funaki, then tagged in Ryder. Ryder started to punch and kick Funaki hard in the corner. Funaki eventually escaped a charging Ryder who ran into the ringpost. Funaki crawled over & tagged Batista in. The Animal went wild and began to attack Ryder. After a clothesline and slam of Ryder, Batista ran over and punched Chavo, Edge & Hawkins off the apron. Batista used a spinebuster on Ryder then prepared for a Batista Bomb. Edge ran in and attacked The Animal from behind. All of the wrestlers got into the ring, but La Familia took the upperhand, knocking down Delaney, Nunzio and Funaki. Batista unloaded with a huge double spear on Hawkins & Chavo, then a Spinebuster on Edge. Ryder went to jump at Batista from the corner as he turned, but Batista kicked him, then set up a Batista Bomb. Batista slammed Ryder down hard then took the pinfall victory!

Winners: Batista, Funaki, Colin Delaney & Nunzio win via pinfall over Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Ryder & Hawkins.
