WWE Draft & Collapse of Million Dollar Mania
On this past Monday viewers of WWE Raw witnessed the collapse of Raw's set on top of WWE chairman Vince McMahon, which appears to have ended the money giveaway. According to WWE.com, registration for Million Dollar Mania has officially ended. There is now a clickable banner up allowing fans to be a part of "WWE Universe", which is of course WWE Fan Nation. Fan Nation allows for WWE fans to create their own profiles and blogs, share & view videos, join groups, post to forums and much more. The question still remains about Vince McMahon's condition, and what exactly happened to cause such an accident. Was a wrestler responsible? Was it former GM of Raw Eric Bischoff, or someone else behind the collapse? About a year ago we witnessed Mr. McMahon get into a limo which exploded, so quite possibly this is yet another Vince setup job, to see if fans appreciate him. Another possibility is that the man Vince helped fire, William Regal, had a hand in this. Regal's motives would be clear: to take over again as the most powerful entity in the WWE. Time will tell, but at least 15 or so WWE fans are $2 to $500,000 richer after it all abruptly ended.
The WWE draft has also come and gone, moving several names to new rosters. ECW has just one diva left with Kely Kelly now as Layla has moved on to Smackdown. As we all know, it seems all wrestlers appear on all of the shows already, but the moves of the ECW title holder Kane and WWE title holder Triple H are very interesting. With Kane's move does it signal a loss at Night of Champions? With Triple H's move does it also signal a title loss or a possible showdown between he and Edge? Maybe a unification of the WWE title and World Heavyweight title is on the way. Night of Champions could see the ECW, WWE and World Heavyweight titles all change shows too.
Raw will definitely miss the services of Jim Ross, who fans mostly love hearing call the matches every Monday night. Michael Cole is not Mike Adamle, but he's far from good ol' JR's league. In addition, Raw has now added one of Smackdown's biggest stars in Batista and ECW's big star in CM Punk. Punk still holds the Money in the Bank briefcase, and you'd have to wonder if his title cash-in is approaching.
All in all, the draft offered many surprises and shifts by various mainstay wrestlers. Some bigger surprises just might be in the works.
