Extreme Rules 2010 PPV results
Welcome to the Extreme Rules 2010 results page provided by WWE Characters the Blog. Starting at 8PM EST and until 11PM EST you'll find the latest updated results here as matches are completed. WWE's Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View will be live from 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. There's three titles on the line and each match involves special rules or stipulations listed below. This year's title defenses will have WWE Champ John Cena defending against Batista in a Last Man Standing Match, Jack Swagger defending the World Heavyweight title against Randy Orton in a Extreme Rules match, and Womens Champion Michelle McCool defending against Beth Phoenix in an Extreme Makeover match. And that's just three of the seven matches on the 2010 Extreme Rules card!

Triple H's music came on to start off the Extreme Rules PPV, but The Game didn't show up. The cameras revealed the scene backstage where Sheamus was beating up Triple H. He eventually layed HHH out cold with the steel pipe. The commentators say they'll continue to monitor the situation backstage.
The Miz and Big Show arrive to the ring. Miz says Bret Hart will honor his word on tomorrow's Raw to call MizShow greatest tag team ever. Smackdown GM Teddy Long arrives out to the ramp and says tonight ShowMiz will be in a three tag team gauntlet match. They start with R-Truth & John Morrison.
R-Truth & John Morrison vs. ShowMiz
During the match, John Morrison avoided a near chokeslam from Big Show. Morrison countered and wrapped his legs around Show for a Triangle choke submission hold. Morrison put Show into the ropes for the hold. The ref began to count warning Morrison to break it up. Morrison wouldn't release the hold so the ref called for the bell giving ShowMiz the win via DQ.
Winners: ShowMiz wins due to DQ over R-Truth & John Morrison.
MVP & Mark Henry vs. ShowMiz
Raw's Henry & MVP arrived to the ring next. MVP made a quick cover on Show who was still down from the submission hold. Show kicked out. The ref became distracted in under two minutes with MVP hitting the Playmaker on Miz. Big Show delivered a KO punch to knock MVP down. Miz took the winning pinfall.
Winners: MizShow wins via pinfall over MVP & Mark Henry.
Hart Dynasty vs. ShowMiz
The Hart Dynasty was the third and final team out along with Bret Hart and Natalya. They made extremely quick work of ShowMiz. Kidd and Smith did their doubleteam move The Hart Attack on Miz and took the cover for the win in about ten seconds after hitting the ring.
Winners: Hart Dynasty wins via pinfall over ShowMiz.
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk
Rey Mysterio had several near falls on Punk during the bout, but couldn't put him away. Late in the match, both men exchanged submission holds. Suddenly, a random man came out and rolled a chair into the ring. He also managed to grab Rey and drop him face first onto the floor. The mystery man was wearing a hoodie and Timberland boots. CM Punk smirked about it all, collected Rey from outside the ring and rolled him back in. He hit the GTS and collected the pinfall win over Mysterio, saving his hair for another day.
Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over Rey Mysterio. CM Punk saves his hair from being shaved off.
JTG vs. Shad Gaspard
JTG and Shad were tied to opposite ends of the leater strap. The rules here were to touch all four ring corners in succession before your opponent did. Late in the match, JTG used a sneaky strategy as Shad put JTG up on his back to touch the corners. Shad touched three of them, but didn't realize JTG was touching them behind his back as Shad turned to go the other way. Before Shad could get to corner four, JTG hit him with the box cutter backbreaker move, then jumped over to slap corner #4 for the win.
Winner: JTG wins the Strap match against Shad Gaspard.
Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger (C)
Late in the match, Orton managed to smash a trashcan on Swagger's head multiple times. Orton whipped Swagger into the steel steps, then stomped on his head on the steps. Orton rolled Swagger back into the ring. As Randy went to get back in, Swagger was able to cut him off. Swagger went out and got a chair to bring in the ring. As Swagger was trying to get in through the apron/ropes, Orton won the fight there and did his trademark DDT with Swagger. Orton got ready for the RKO by dropping down on the mat. Orton put a steel chair in the middle of the ring. Orton tried for a running RKO with Swagger onto the chair, but Swagger hit a backdrop on Orton causing him to land back first on the chair. Swagger then used his might to deliver the Gutwrench Powerbomb for the win.
Winner: Jack Swagger wins via pinfall over Randy Orton to retain the World Heavyweight title.
Triple H vs. Sheamus
Sheamus came out to the ring and said to raise his arm up if HHH can't make it out for the fight. Backstage they showed HHH shove Todd Grisham aside and begin to stagger on his way out, despite what they said was nerve damage to his arm. In the late stages of the match, Sheamus managed to smash HHH in the face with his steel pipe. The Game recovered though and was able to use a Kendo stick to beat on The Celtic Warrior. Despite that, Sheamus hit a vicious series of boot pump kicks on Triple H both outside and inside the ring. At least three kicks were scored and Sheamus eventually took the pinfall win over The Game who gave a valiant effort. Medical staff checked on HHH after the match and were going to put him on a stretcher, but he tried to get up the ramp without it. Sheamus came and caught him with yet another kick to the head. That was enough to cause HHH to have to be taken away on a stretcher with a neck brace on.
Winner: Sheamus wins the Street Fight via pinfall over Triple H.
Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool (C)
The Extreme Makeover match involved a ringside table full of makeup products as well as an ironing board and other weapons. At one point, McCool choked Beth in the ring with an object. Later Beth was able to spray hairspray in McCool's face to disrupt her attack. Layla and Vickie Guerrero tried to offer support for McCool from ringside. In the end though, Beth withstood all of Michelle's various attacks and hit the Glam Slam on her for the win. Beth becomes the new WWE Womens Champion.
Winner: Beth Phoenix wins via pinfall over Michelle McCool to become new WWE Womens Champion.
Edge vs. Chris Jericho
Late in this match, Jericho managed to hit the Codebreaker just moments after Edge had a near fall. From there, Jericho was able to scale the cage wall and got onto the other side. Edge was able to go up and retrieve him. He grabbed Jericho by the neck and brought him back into the cage. Jericho quickly scrambled up the wall again, but Edge got him again. The two got into a battle up on top of the cage wall, with Jericho getting knocked down to the mat. Edge was seated on the top rope, and Jericho quickly got up and hit a Codebreaker on him.
Jericho had a near fall from that point, with Edge managing to kick out. Jericho screamed at him to stay down, then got a steel chair. Edge avoided getting hit by the chair and tossed Jericho face first into the cage wall. Jericho tried to use the situation to climb the wall, but Edge smashed him face first into the wall. Instead of escaping up the wall, Edge climbed back down into the ring.
Jericho did his best to crawl over to the cage door to escape. Edge got over there to kick him, then smashed the door on Jericho's ankle and leg. Edge twisted Jericho's ankle for further injury. Jericho was able to start crawling towards the cage door again, but this time Edge was able to get the Spear on him center ring and then scored the winning pinfall.
Winner: Edge wins the steel cage match over Chris Jericho via pinfall.
Batista vs. John Cena (C)
Late in the match, The Animal started to ferociously take control. He was able to whip the champ hard into the barrier near the timekeeper and bell, causing it to break apart. The referee got the count as high as 8, with Cena finally getting to his feet. An enraged Animal started tearing up the commentators' table, throwing monitors around. Batista brought Cena up on the table and prepared the Batista Bomb, but Cena countered and hit the Attitude Adjustment on the table. Cena got back in the ring as the ref began his count on the fallen Batista. However to Cena's shock, The Animal returned to his feet before 10.
Cena set up a table inside the ring then retrieved Batista. Batista was able to counter and reverse Cena's move in the ring to hit a spinebuster, smashing Cena through the table. Cena was able to get to his feet during the next ref count, but Batista hit him with a Batista Bomb. Cena got to his feet just before 10. Batista went outside frustrated and kicked the steps, then tossed part of them into the ring. As he got back in though, Cena applied the STF submission. Despite Batista's tapping the mat, the match had to continue. With Batista down the ref counted on him. The Animal got up at 9. Cena was outside the ring and yanked Batista into the ringpost against his crotch. From there, Cena grabbed some duct tape. He duct taped Batista's legs together so he couldn't stand up. Cena kept wrapping the tape around Batista's legs to get the clever win. Cena did his "You Can't See Me" hand taunt to Batista s the ref counted him down.
Winner: John Cena wins the Last Man Standing match against Batista to retain the WWE Title.
