WWE NXT Results 07/13/10

NXT Results from :

The show opened with highlights of The Nexus attacking various superstars on Raw. Tonight, the NXT Season 1 crew is going to be on NXT, but what will they want?

Matt Striker and Ashley Valence were in the ring to start off the show. They introduced the WWE Pros one-by-one. When The Miz arrived out, Mark Henry tried to go after him because of what Miz did to him on Raw last night. Several of the other pros held Henry back. Next, The Nexus was introduced and got seats up on the stage across from where the Pros were.

Wade Barrett made a quick speech saying how great it was to be there one night after destroying Cena on Raw. He said they were going to enjoy themselves so he hopes the Pros won't try anything funny. Barrett also wished the season 2 stars the best of luck. Striker

Mark Henry & Lucky Cannon vs. The Miz & Alex Riley

Before a commercial break, Lucky Cannon had knocked Riley out of the ring. Cannon jumped over the ropes at Riley and ended up hitting the steel steps with his face. Cannon grabbed his face as Henry and the ref checked on him before break.

When NXT returned, The Miz was finally into the ring and had control against Cannon. He hit the running clothesline in the corner on Cannon. Cannon finally escaped from The Miz and Henry came in to level him. Henry pressed Miz overhead and let him drop. He yanked Miz off the ropes, then Miz rolled over to his corner for a quick tag to Riley. As Miz scurried out of the ring, Riley slapped Henry from behind. Henry grabbed him off the apron and carried Riley to center ring, then hit World's Strongest Slam for the win.

Henry went to the outside of the ring and Miz took off for the ramp. Henry grabbed a full trash can to bring into the ring and dumped garage all over Riley on the mat.

Winners: Mark Henry and Lucky Cannon win via pinfall over The Miz & Alex Riley.

Josh Matthews introduced a video about Alex Riley with the Pros giving their thoughts on the rookie. Morrison said Riley's alot like Miz, they're both annoying. Cody Rhodes said Riley's playing a character and he'd rather him be a character. Miz said he thinks his rookie will be the next breakout star.

When NXT returned Josh Matthews mentioned the theme song for Money in the Bank 2010, "Money" by I Fight Dragons. They took a look at Wrestlemania 26's Money in the Bank ladder match. Jack Swagger won it by clocking Christian in the head with the briefcase, then grabbing the MITB case. Five days later, Swagger took advantage of Jericho being speared down by Edge. Swagger rushed to the ring to hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb and win the World Title.

Cole and Matthews talked about the MITB PPV with the Raw and Smackdown versions of the matches. There's also the title matches: Swagger vs Mysterio for the World Title and Cena vs Sheamus for the WWE Title.

They showed highlights of The Nexus in a 6-on-1 handicap match against Cena last night. Sheffield made a blind tag in to the match, then leveled Cena. Next, Otunga hit his finisher and then tagged in Justin Gabriel for the 450 Splash. After Nexus won the match, they prepared for a further beatdown. Cena got up and punched Barrett then rushed out of the ring to get a chair. The Nexus went outside to regroup, then surrounded the ring. Suddenly, Sheamus rushed to the ring with a steel chair to help Cena chase off Nexus.

The Showtime Percy Watson Show

Watson got to do his own in-ring talk show based on winning last week's "talk the talk" challenge. He called out his guest for the night his mentor, MVP. Percy joked asking MVP if he could borrow $20. Percy talked about how much he appreciated MVP's help and guidance so far. MVP said it's all good and if he listens he'll go a long way.

Percy then talked about how MVP told him to always seize opportunities. Percy said he decided he'd do that now. He stood up and looked up the ramp. His fellow NXT rookies came down to the ring, and MVP realized what was up. He told Percy he thought they connected but guess not. MVP said he never rolls solo and the other WWE Pros came down to the ring. MVP said it's time to start the party now as the Pros joined him in the ring.

Matt Striker came out from backstage telling them to hold up. He suggested they settle this challenge with an over-the-top battle royal. The pros and rookies seemed down for that. Wade Barrett stood up to give his 2 cents. Barrett said it's only right if Nexus is also part of this so they can prove themselves. He said in the end it will be the same guy who won NXT Season 1 winning tonight, Wade Barrett.

20 Man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal

The WWE Pros, NXT Season 2 Rookies and six members of Nexus (no Darren Young) were involved in this Battle Royal.

As the match started, all of the Nexus guys went to the outside under the ropes. Mark Henry was eliminated by a bunch of the rookies together. The Nexus started to attack Mark Henry and tossed him into a ringpost. Eli Cottonwood was out next and got clotheslined down by Sheffield.

MVP got tossed out and was able to back himself against the steel steps ready to fight Nexus. Kofi Kingston and Morrison came to the outside to fight off Nexus, allowing MVP to back up the ramp. Morrison and Kofi got back inside the ring as NXT went to break.

After a commercial break, Nexus was now in the ring. Cole said that Cody Rhodes and several other guys in the ring attacked Morrison, Kofi and others, allowing Nexus to get in. Mike McGillicutty was eliminated next. Miz, Kofi, Morrison and Cody Rhodes were left against the Nexus. Miz tried for some sort of truce with the Nexus saying he helped them all on Season 1. They weren't having it, and gave Miz the staredown. Miz rushed over and jumped out of the ring eliminating himself.

Morrison, Kofi and Rhodes talked strategy to go after Nexus. However when time came to attack, Rhodes went over and sat up on the corner watching Nexus beat down Morrison and Kofi. Kofi and Morrison tried to make a comeback but the numbers were too much. Eventually both were eliminated, leaving Cody Rhodes and Nexus. Nexus turned around to see Rhodes in the corner of the ring. Rhodes tried to play it off and offer a handshake to Justin Gabriel. Again Nexus just stared at him then began to beat him down unmercifully. After they tossed out Rhodes, the bell rang and the winner was announced as "Nexus".

After the match, they gave Rhodes, Kofi and Morrison even more of a beatdown. Matt Striker got into the ring afterwords to ask Wade Barrett how he feels that the WWE Universe doesn't approve of them. Barrett warned Striker to back off because being in the ring with them isn't smart.

Barrett gave a speech about how Nexus has an ultimate goal and doesn't care what everyone else thinks. He said they formed Nexus to prove they accomplish things regardless of being labeled rookies. Striker got a mic and asked Barrett if he's proud of what they did to John Cena on Monday Night Raw. Barrett said he's proud of everything he's done in this ring and proud of the men who are with him. He said "you're either Nexus or you're against us."

After a replay of the beatdown Nexus gave on tonight's NXT, Michael Cole reminded fans of this Sunday's PPV despite the fact Nexus is looming over WWE.

Winner: The Nexus wins the over-the-top Battle Royal.
