Raw Results 05/09/11

Raw Results from Memphis, TN:

The show opened with Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio arriving out to the ring one after the other. Each made early cases for why they should be #1 contender for the WWE Championship. Rey challenged Del Rio to a match. Next, The Miz arrived to the ring with Alex Riley making a case for why he deserves a rematch against Cena because of Riley's incompetence last week during the match. Finally, R-Truth came to the ring and argued that he's done waiting in line for a championship shot. He insulted each of the other 3 guys, but then the Raw GM sent an email.

The Raw GM said that three of them deserved a chance at the WWE Championship: The Miz, Del Rio and Rey Mysterio. Truth got upset and in Rey's face, but Mysterio told him he agrees with the GM because Truth doesn't deserve a title shot, and that's "What's Up!" Truth angrily left the ring. Riley attacked Del Rio. Ricardo Rodriguez dropkicked Riley down, but then Miz clotheslined Ricardo down. Del Rio rushed Miz and took him over the top rope. Rey came running over and jumped out on Del Rio to take him down near the ramp. Mysterio rushed back in the ring and celebrated before the crowd.

Eve Torres & Kelly Kelly vs. The Bella Twins

Josh Matthews brought up that the latest issue of Maxim magazine hits newsstands tomorrow and that Kelly Kelly is featured as part of their Hot 100 for 2011. Late in the divas tag match, Kelly gained serious momentum. She did her handstand move and smashed into one of the Bellas in the corner. After a bulldog, one of the Bellas on the outside tried to pull her twin out. Kelly held onto the one in the ring, and Eve rushed over with a baseball slide dropkick into the other on the outside. In the ring, the legal Bella tried a small package rollup pinfall. Kelly reversed it to capture the winning pinfall.

Post-match, Kelly and Eve celebrated in the ring until Kharma's music hit. As Kharma made her way to the ring, the Bellas ducked down behind the ring, then ran up the ramp after Kharma got in the ring. Kelly managed to escape the ring. Eve tried to rush and attack Kharma who smashed her down to the mat. Kharma saw Kelly on the outside and slid out to stalk her. Kelly ran up the ramp in fear. Kharma turned her attention back to the ring, getting in and grabbing Eve to hit the Implant Buster before leaving.

Winner: Eve Torres & Kelly Kelly win via pinfall over The Bella Twins.

Tag team champions The Big Show and Kane were shown walking backstage.

Kane vs. Mason Ryan

CM Punk and Big Show were ringside to support their allies. Kane went on a rampage late in the match. He was on the apron where Ryan tried to ram into him through the ropes. Kane avoided it then kicked Ryan. As Kane was getting back in the ring, CM Punk was able to take advantage of a distracted ref and kicked Kane in the leg. However, Kane still booted Ryan down. Big Show saw Punk hiding behind the ring and rushed around the ring. He tapped Punk on the shoulder then layed him out with a KO punch. Meanwhile, Kane knocked Ryan out of the ring.

McGillicutty and Otunga rushed into the ring to attack Kane, causing a DQ. Kane and Show fought them both off and out of the ring. They both grabbed Mason Ryan for the double chokeslam to finish the segment before Kane made his ring corner pyro explode.

Winner: Kane wins due to disqualification of Mason Ryan.

Santino Marella vs. Dolph Ziggler

Vickie Guerrero arrived out to introduce business associate Dolph Ziggler. Michael Cole called Ziggler the future of Monday Night Raw.

Dolph had control for most of the match, but Santino got the advantage late. He set up for The Cobra, but Ziggler got a huge dropkick on him. As Santino staggered to his feet, Ziggler was ready to drop him with the Zig Zag for the big win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall over Santino Marella.

They showed the Smackdown Rebound to let fans know that Christian lost his championship to Randy Orton in a main event match this past Friday. Lawler and Matthews talked over the aftermath, saying they'll see what the fallout is on Friday's Smackdown episode.

R-Truth was walking backstage wearing a pair of headphones, mouthing words. Lawler said "he's talking to himself." Scott Stanford walked up to R-Truth to interview him. Truth started mocking parents saying they're asking him to start singing and dancing again. Truth said Miz, Del Rio and Mysterio are going to got, but on his terms. He said that's "What's up!" Truth walked off, with Stanford starting to talk about what Truth just said to the fans. Truth got back in his face threatening Stanford to say it, "What's up." Stanford said "What's up?" and Truth told him to say hi to little Ronny for him.

John Cena was shown backstage in a hallway doing a fist pump move in the air with Zack Ryder. He walked off leaving Ryder behind still doing the fist pump. Cena glanced back to see him doing it and smirked.

They showed a replay of how Miz had his decision reversed against Cena in his championship rematch last week on Raw. Backstage in the locker room, Miz was pacing back and forth. Riley tried to explain what he did to help him win. He told Miz it wasn't his fault the ref reversed the decision. Miz asked him "how stupid do you get?" Miz chastised him for raising his hand with the WWE Championship belt. Riley apologized for it. Miz called him the lowest form of life, an amoeba. Riley apologized numerous times and Miz said he doesn't know why he allows him in his presence. Riley said he'll make it up to him, then said "watch this" and left the locker room.

The camera showed Riley walking down the hallways backstage. He got into the arena garage area still walking purposefully and then out to the arena. The fans started wildly booing him as he headed down the ramp. Riley got in the ring and on the mic saying the only person he cares about is The Miz. He said he'll prove it right now because he's challenging John Cena to a match. Riley got back on the mic asking if Cena can hear him. The crowd started up a "Cena, Cena!" chant. Riley demanded Cena get out there, then threw the mic up the ramp. Finally, Cena's music hit.

John Cena vs Alex Riley

Riley showed some momentum at one point, hitting a huge clothesline to take down Cena. He stayed in control for a bit, until Cena went on his tear, with shoulder take downs and then the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena set up Attitude Adjustment just as The Miz came out to watch the match. He hit the move, but then to deliver a message, hit it again on Riley. He slapped on the STF, staring up the ramp at Miz as Riley tapped out.

Winner: John Cena wins due to submission by Alex Riley.

Michael Cole was in the ring to announce his retirement from in-ring competition. Cole said he's one of the only undefeated superstars in WWE history and loved by the fans. Cole said he wants to go into the Hall of Fame as a dual entrant for broadcasting and wrestling. Lawler got up to interrupt him. He got in the ring as Cole reminded him that the GM said Lawler can't lay a finger on him or he's fired. Lawler reminded him about The Rock's handshake last week, then had the footage shown of Rock hitting Rock Bottom and People's Elbow.

Lawler said if Cole ever gets in the WWE HOF, life as we know it will cease to exist. Lawler suggested that if Cole can defeat him in another match, he will personally induct him into the Hall of Fame and give him his HOF ring. Cole smirked asking if Lawler was serious. Cole said "I don't think so" and left the ring, then got into his Coal Miner box. Cole stood up on his desk to taunt Lawler from there. He said Jerry had to steal the spotlight again. Cole talked about how he had dinner with his mom for Mother's Day and they watched his Wrestlemania 27 match where he defeated Lawler. Cole brought up how it was great to spend the day with his mother, then asked Lawler what he did for Mother's day. Cole then pretended to have forgot, saying "how insensitive of me, I forgot your mother passed away in February."

Lawler was furious and rushed out of the ring. He tried to jump up and grab Cole, but Cole backed into his box. Lawler pounded at the front of the box. Suddenly, Jack Swagger rushed down and attacked Lawler from behind. He tossed Lawler into the ringpost, leaving him layed out on the floor. Swagger went over to Cole and they both kept yelling about Lawler.

Kofi Kingston vs Jack Swagger

Cole talked up Swagger's accomplishments, saying he'll dominate on Raw now after being drafted. Cole said this is his first step towards taking the US Title from Kofi.

Late in the match, Jerry Lawler came out from backstage onto the ramp, distracting Swagger. Kofi capitalized and hit the Trouble in Paradise kick to finish him off. From there, Lawler grabbed Swagger pulled him out of the ring and tossed him into the crowd. Lawler rushed over to the Cole Mine box and tossed a chair into there behind Cole. He reached through one of the holes in the front and grabbed Cole's tie. Lawler began to yank on the tie, causing Cole's head to bash against the box wall repeatedly.

Refs came over to finally stop him. Swagger came over to open the box and got Cole out of there. Swagger got on the mic screaming that Cole finally did it, he's fired. Lawler said he never touched Cole, just his tie. Swagger got on the mic saying "on behalf of Michael Cole, he accepts." Cole gave a frustrated look to Swagger as if he didn't want the match. Lawler got up on the announce table to celebrate as Matthews said "Lawler has suckered Cole into a match."

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Jack Swagger.

Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio vs The Miz
#1 Contender's Triple Threat Match

Late in the match, The Miz was knocked out of the ring, leaving Mysterio and Del Rio to battle in the ring. Del Rio had control, and was about to powerbomb Rey. Alex Riley got on the apron to try to distract Del Rio. Rey did a headscissors and threw Del Rio into the ropes, knocking Riley off the apron. Rey completed the 619, then got to the apron to climb for a move. Miz tried to grab him but got kicked down. Rey did his diving splash from the corner and took the pin. Riley was back over on the side and yanked Del Rio out of the pin. Rey looked out of the ring at what was going on, as The Miz rushed in behind him and stole a schoolboy pin.

Post-match, Riley and Miz raised their arms together on the ramp. Rey was frustrated in the ring. John Cena's music hit, and the champ walked out behind Miz and Riley. He announced that their match will have no excuses, no DQ's, no countouts, no submissions and not even pinfalls. Cena said to win the championship Miz will have to make him say "I Quit." Cena said they'll fight in an "I Quit" match at WWE Over the Limit. Cena headed backstage. After several moments, Miz and Riley walked backstage, as Del Rio was being helped up the ramp by refs.

Meanwhile in the ring, Rey was still there annoyed about his loss. Suddenly, R-Truth rushed in and grabbed him to hit his finisher, leaving Rey on the mat. Raw ended after Truth exclaimed "Now that's what's up!"

Raw Results 04/18/11

Raw Results from London, UK:

With Extreme Rules just two weeks away, Raw kicked off in England at the famous O2 arena. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler were also on commentary. R-Truth arrived out to deliver an opening promo. Cole yelled at JR and Lawler to wake up because they're on live television and this isn't the 90's.

Truth talked about being happy to be a #1 contender for the championship at Extreme Rules. He vowed to leave the PPV as WWE Champion and to be the most-fighting champion in the history of champions. John Morrison arrived out to interject.

Morrison talked about how luck aided Truth in making it through 3 guys during the gauntlet match. JMo had them show footage of Truth sitting in the corner of the ring last week and getting water as John Cena was arriving for the match. JMo kept joking about Truth not being in his best shape. He said he looks great for a guy that smokes though.

Morrison announced that the WWE Draft is next week. Morrison suggested they wrestle for Truth's spot in the Triple Threat at Extreme Rules. JMo baited Truth enough into giving him a match for the contender's spot. Truth joked around asking for a bottled water, then a cigarette. Morrison said he forgot to ask for "luck."

John Morrison vs. R-Truth

On the line was Truth's #1 contender spot for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules. Cole kept taunting JR and Lawler throughout the match, getting on their commentating. Lawler and Cole traded jabs.

Late in the match, R-Truth went for a finisher. Morrison grabbed the ropes and Truth fell to the mat. JMo followed up with the Starship Pain to finish things off with a pinfall. That gives Morrison the #1 contender spot at Extreme Rules.

Post-match, Truth sat in the corner. Morrison offered a handshake but Truth wasn't having it. JMo celebrated up in the corner, so Truth went over and yanked him off hard. He followed with a running knee to Morrison's head, then left the ring. Truth turned and delivered another running knee into Morrison at the barrier.

He went over and said he was sorry to Morrison, then helped him up. Truth shoved Morrison to the floor, then walked over to the commentators table to get a bottled water. He smashed it across Morrison's face before the crowd let out an "R Truth sucks" chant. Truth helped Morrison up again and looked at him saying "You did this John" before hitting his finisher. Someone in the crowd gave Truth a pack of cigarettes, so he lit one up in front of the crowd. The crowd chanted "That's illegal" meaning inside the arena. Someone in the crowd yelled "think of the children."

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over R-Truth to become a #1 contender for the WWE Championship.

Ross and Lawler talked about Truth snapping moments earlier. Evan Bourne was in the ring when Vickie Guerrero arrived out to interrupt with her "Excuse Me's." She intro'd her business associate, new and improved Dolph Ziggler for the match. Ziggler came out with a slick new haircut with short darker hair.

Evan Bourne vs. Dolph Ziggler

Vickie got in the ring in Bourne's face insulting and yelling at him. Ziggler had an impressive counter dropkick on Bourne as he came off the corner early on.

For the finish, Bourne had Ziggler down on the mat and went for Air Bourne. Ziggler rolled out of the way with Bourne landing on his feet. Ziggler rushed from behind and hit Zig Zag for the win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall over Evan Bourne.

They did a plug for WWE All-Stars video game while showing the simulated match of The Rock vs John Cena. Michael Cole said tonight he will be knighted by the queen for his civic duties.

WWE Rewind showed footage of Sin Cara's debuts when he arrived to the ring on Raw to beat up Sheamus and Smackdown to beat up Jack Swagger. His debut match was last week when he defeated Primo in the ring.

Jim Ross talked about the emotional week created once Edge announced his retirement. They showed highlights from his speech on Raw including highlights from his legendary career. They played the Nickleback song "When You're Young" as part of the video.

They announced that Alberto Del Rio will be throwing a retirement party for Edge on this Friday's Smackdown.

The Miz accompanied Alex Riley to the ring for his match. Miz got a good bit of applause and respect from the UK crowd. Miz talked in the ring about preparing for the past week for a Triple Threat match against John Cena and R-Truth. He said Truth made an illogical, disrespectful decision tonight though. He said now he has to face John Cena and John Morrison, inside a steel cage.

Miz said he won't leave the ring until the Raw GM makes this right. He told Riley to bring him a chair in the ring to sit in. Raw went to commercial with Miz sitting in the ring waiting for the Raw GM to email.

After commercial break, Miz was still seated in the chair in the ring talking. He stared his "I'm the Miz" catch phrase, but Sin Cara arrived out to interrupt it. Miz got up from his chair and went outside the ring. Sin Cara did his running jump and flip over the top rope into the ring.

Sin Cara vs. Alex Riley

Sin Cara got in the ring with Miz and Riley both walking towards him. All of a sudden, Cena's music hit and he rushed to the ring to make sure they didn't attack Sin Cara. The Raw GM sent an email making it a tag match.

Winner: Match was changed to tag match.

Sin Cara & John Cena vs. Alex Riley & The Miz

Cena went for the quick attack taking it to Riley early after the bell, hitting a bulldog. Riley left the ring, where Miz regrouped with him as Raw went to break.

After break, Miz avoided the AA to hit a huge side slam on Cena to take control. Cole talked about the draft next week. Lawler asked Cole what he'd do if he was drafted to Smackdown, even though Cole later mentioned he's on both shows anyways.

Cena continued to take punishment from Miz and Riley, but pulled off a huge suplex and finally made a hot tag to Sin Cara. Sin Cara came in against The Miz. Sin Cara was on a tear with a variety of moves including using Miz's hand for ballance on the ropes to fling himself onto Riley for the headscissors flip. Moments later, Sin Cara hit a mule kick on Miz from the apron. He tried to jump to the top rope but Riley yanked his feet and Sin Cara fell outside. Miz took control in the ring. Riley and Miz kept attacking Sin Cara.

Sin Cara avoided Miz's running clothesline in the corner, bringing Cena and Riley in. The finish saw Cena gain major momentum against Riley, eventually hitting Five Knuckle Shuffle and Attitude Adjustment. Sin Cara tagged in for a springboard moonsault to pin Riley.

Winners: John Cena & Sin Cara win via pinfall over Alex Riley & The Miz.

They had an official ceremony to knight Michael Cole. He wore a regal robe in the ring which was decorated in all red. Jack Swagger was there with him as they had a fake queen arrive to the ring. Cole knelt on a padded stool before her.

The queen asked if he would uphold the nobility of the knighthood of the United Kingdom, to which Cole said "I do." She used a sword to tap both shoulders. Cole planted a big kiss on the "queen" after his knighting.

Cole grabbed a mic and asked for a big round of applause - for himself. He tried to get a "Sir Michael Cole" chant going but the crowd wasn't having it and said "Sucks!" after it each time. Cole called everyone in the crowd his peasants. He told the peasants, JR and Lawler, to get in the ring and kiss his feet. Cole removed his shoe and put his foot up on the stool.

Lawler and Ross went to the ring. When they got there, Swagger attacked Lawler, tossing him into the corner, then out of the ring. JR was left alone. Swagger got in and grabbed him then put the Ankle Lock, forcing him down to kiss Cole's exposed foot as Cole yelled "Kiss it, you peasant!" They did the Swagger laps around the ring.

Raw had no commentators but revealed a graphic on screen that Randy Orton will face CM Punk in a rematch tonight.

Josh Matthews was now on commentary since Lawler and Ross were both attacked in the last segment. He chastised Cole for what he just did, and Cole showed off his bare foot saying he has athlete's foot, hence the fungus on his foot.

Santino Marella vs. Sheamus

Sheamus said last time they were in England, Santino embarassed him with a tea party skit. He said tonight the champion of the US is going to embarass him.

Sheamus got the early advantage, knocking Santino down flat on the mat. Santino tried to fight back from a submission hold on the mat.

Santino dodged a corner move later on, and got ready for The Cobra, but was too worn out. Sheamus capitalized with the Brogh kick to finish him off.

Winner: Sheamus wins via pinfall over Santino Marella.

Matthews and Cole reviewed R-Truth snapping earlier in the night, attacking John Morrison post-match, then smoking a cigarette over him.

They showed a split screen for CM Punk and Randy Orton headed to the ring for their rematch.

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

Punk arrived out to the ring first. They showed footage of Nexus costing Orton the gauntlet match on last week's Raw. They had a 3-on-1 attack on Orton with Mason Ryan hitting a huge powerbomb to leave Orton on the mat.

Orton arrived to the ring as Matthews plugged the new WWE film "That's What I Am." They locked up in the corner as the crowd traded CM Punk and Randy Orton chants. Orton gained the advantage to start hitting forearm uppercuts in the corner. Punk eventually took over though and kicked Orton down in the corner, before whipping him to the opposite. Orton exploded back with a clothesline and eventually the scoop slam.

Orton went for the RKO, but Punk shoved him away to barely avoid it. Orton clutched the back of his head as Raw went to commercial. Raw returned with Punk in control in the ring. He put a side headlock on to try to wear Orton down more. Punk stayed on the offensive outside the ring. The crowd exchanged "GTS" and "RKO" chants with Punk about to hit a suplex in the ring. Orton countered into a small package near fall. Punk settled into a headscissors on Orton on the mat.

Orton made his comeback with a backbreaker. Punk rolled onto the apron. Orton went after him but got yanked throat first against the top rope. Punk got on the corner, but Orton got up and fought him to hit a huge superplex for the near fall.

Punk went for the GTS late in this one, with Orton able to grab the top rope to prevent it. As they hit the mat, Orton ducked a move by Punk, then did a surprise schoolboy pinfall for the win.

Post-match, new Nexus members, Ryan, Otunga and McGillicutty all attacked Orton in the ring as Punk recovered in the corner. Once again, Mason Ryan hit a huge move to smash Orton to the mat. McGill and Otunga both went to go after Orton, but Ryan shoved them both away saying "he's mine." Ryan backed up for the punt kick, but CM Punk got up and stopped him. Punk said "he's mine," but Ryan wasn't hearing it. Punk stopped him again and showed him the Nexus patch on his arm.

Punk went for the running punt kick, but Orton sprang to life and hit the RKO on him, then escaped the ring to stagger up the ramp as his music played. Raw ended with Nexus fuming in the ring as Orton staggered backstage.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over CM Punk.

Raw Preview 03/21/11 - Wrestlemania 27 Countdown Continues

As Jim Ross might say, "business is pickin' up" prior to Wrestlemania which is less than two weeks away! There's plenty of feuds and superstars looking to build momentum ahead of the big event. That includes John Cena and The Miz, both of whom will be competing on the grandest stage of them all. After last week's attack from The Miz on John Cena, it seems Miz really does have Cena's number. Meanwhile, both Cena and Miz are trying to trash talk the Rock, who will be the guest host of WM27. What will be next in the war of words and will Cena ever get his hands on Miz prior to their match?

Also looking to get his hands on his opponent is The Viper, Randy Orton. Orton has been picking off members of Nexus each week and has now eliminated all of CM Punk's henchmen. That leaves just Punk for their one-on-one match at the big Pay-Per-View. Last week on Raw, Orton delivered the final Punt Kick to knock Mason Ryan out of action. From there, Orton dropped to the mat to stare Punk in his face with fury in his eyes. Punk saw the look and it was enough to drive him off. However, fans have to wonder if CM Punk has another plan in mind with two Raws before Wrestlemania.

Finally, last week saw Michael Cole once again get the best of Jerry Lawler. Cole had the help of Jack Swagger once again, but this time they also made former commentator, Jim Ross, a victim. Swagger ordered Cole to put the Ankle lock on JR, while Jack did one on Lawler. It seems as if Cole is being trained to be one vicious in-ring competitor. Will Jerry "The King" Lawler be present for tonight's Raw? If So, what will go down next between these future opponents?

Check out WWE's Monday Night Raw, tonight at 9PM EST on USA!

Raw Preview 03/14/11

On tonight's episode of Raw, Jersey Shore star "Snooki" will be the special guest. For months, various WWE stars have tried to send tweet messages to Snooki, including Maryse and John Cena. Finally, it seems that WWE has been able to get Snooki as part of its special guests for the Raw TV show. While Snooki won't be hosting, it should be interesting to see what sort of role she'll play on the Monday night show, just weeks ahead of Wrestlemania 27.

Speaking of that, it's quite likely that John Cena will want a piece of The Miz on tonight's show. Last week, Cena delivered what he called the "Final Knockout" against The Rock in their ongoing war of words. Cena finished off his battle rap, but was suddenly attacked by WWE Champion The Miz. After Miz hit the Skullcrushing Finale, he delivered a mock promo aimed at The Rock. Miz also did "The People's Elbow" on Cena before once again proclaiming himself "Awesome!" Will The Rock or Cena be first to respond to Miz's antics on last week's Raw?

Finally, it's down to just one member of Nexus for Randy Orton to take out before he can get CM Punk 1-on-1 at Wrestlemania 27. In the past two weeks, Orton has been able to defeat Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga. He followed up his victories with Punt kicks for good measure, knocking both Nexus members out of the picture. CM Punk is down to 1 member of his crew now, the newcomer Mason Ryan. Will Orton be able to defeat the powerful new superstar in the ring so he can get a straight-up 1-on-1 match against Punk at Wrestlemania? Or will Punk have a new plan in mind to stop Orton?

Check out tonight's Monday Night Raw at 9PM EST on USA!

In the ring- Punk spoke about how The Nexus has expanded just as the Royal Rumble has this year. Punk introduced the newest member of Nexus, Mason Ryan, then handed him the mic. Mason said he has just one thing to say, "Faith." Punk brought up Cena and how Nexus will unite Sunday night to make sure CM Punk wins the 2011 Rumble.

As Punk was still speaking, he was interrupted as The Corre arrived out from backstage. Barrett, Slater, Gabriel and Jackson all came down to the ring to stare down Nexus. Wade said The Corre is nothing like Nexus, because they will all stand as equals in the Rumble. Jackson started speaking said they will have a common goal to eliminate Punk. Ryan stepped forward and got in Jackson's face. As they had a stare down, the Raw GM sent forth another email. The GM said there will be a one-on-one match later: CM Punk vs Wade Barrett. The loser and his group's entire team is out of the Rumble match. There will also be a special referee: John Cena.

John Morrison & Mark Henry vs. Sheamus & Alberto Del Rio

During the match they showed former Nexus member, Michael Tarver, watching this match on a flat screen backstage. Lawler said he's seen Tarver hanging around backstage quite a bit lately.

The action broke down late in this one, with Henry headbutting Sheamus down, then tossing him into the corner. Henry prepared to rush Sheamus but Del Rio attacked. Henry ate a huge boot from Sheamus. Morrison was back in and did his kick from off the ropes to bring Sheamus down. Sheamus rolled to the outside, then Morrison leapt over the top rope onto him outside the ring. JMo appeared to have a bit of a bad fall on his leg.

Back inside the ring, Del Rio got the advantage as he quickly subdued Henry and locked on the Cross armbreaker for the tap out.

Winners: Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus win via submission over Mark Henry & John Morrison.

Cole said WWE.com has a Top 10 Rumble moments feature right now.

Melina vs. Natalya
WWE Divas Championship

Melina got the early advantage with a tackle of Natalya through the ropes, followed by slapping her down. Melina had an early near fall in the ring as well.

Towards the end of things, Melina countered a move to take down Natalya, then stomped on her. Melina went for a leg drop on Natalya's crotch, but Natalya caught her leg before it could hit. Natalya reversed it by putting Melina into the Sharpshooter. She wrenched it down even tighter than usual, making Melina tap out.

Natalya's celebration was cut short as Team LayCool came out to inform Natalya they've got a title shot at 2011 Royal Rumble.

Winner: Natalya wins via submission over Melina to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

After a replay of what happened to Cena last week, they showed Otunga, Harris and McGillicutty huddled in the locker room talking about how Punk has to win his match tonight. Punk arrived in with Mason Ryan to say sometimes they need to make a sacrifice, and he defeated John Cena due to DQ. Punk talked about how each of them will need to make a sacrifice on Sunday for Punk to win so he can go to Wrestlemania 27. Harris asked what if Punk is #1 to got to the Rumble and gets eliminated before Nexus gets there. Ryan said that won't happen. McGillicutty asked what about Cena as special ref? Punk said the better man will win toight.

Josh Matthews interviewed John Cena backstage about tonight's special referee assignment. Cena said if Punk wins tonight, he has faith he'll personally eliminate each member of The Nexus. The Miz and Alex Riley arrived backstage to interrupt Cena's interview. Miz said every superstar needs to realize what will happen if they choose him after winning the Rumble. Miz asked Cena if he saw what he did to Orton last week. Miz said he's going to give Edge the worst beating ever in his life later. Cena dared Miz to give him a beating now, but Miz said not yet. Cena suggested that Miz might lose at the Rumble and lose his rematch, thereby losing a trip to Wrestlemania.

Cole and Lawler reviewed footage of how Miz and Riley destroyed Orton last week at ringside.

Edge vs. The Miz

Edge and Miz faced off in a non-title "Champion vs Champion" matchup. Before things started, Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero arrived to ringside to do guest commentary. Jerry Lawler made wisecracks towards Vickie but had to battle on commentary with Cole, Vickie & Dolph.

Late in the match, Miz ripped off the tape on Edge's ribs and exploited the injury. Edge was able to knock Riley off the apron, and then countered Miz's face plant with a DDT. Edge set up for the Spear to finish things, but Ziggler left the commentary position and grabbed Edge's leg from outside the ring to drop him. The ref called for the bell.

Post-match saw Ziggler attacking Edge with Miz and Riley. Orton rushed to the ring to go after Miz, but Ziggler and Riley held him back. Orton fought them all off. He was able to hit the RKO on Riley, then Ziggler. Miz rushed into the ring and used his briefcase to hit Orton in the back of his leg. Miz rushed out of the ring and up the ramp with his WWE belt.

Winner: Edge wins due to disqualification against The Miz.

Backstage, Matthews interviewed The Corre leader, Wade Barrett. Barrett talked about how he was obsessed when he was the leader of Nexus. Obsessed with obtaining the WWE title and with taking down Cnea. Barrett said The Corre consists of four equals. Matthews asked about Teddy Long and the speculation that The Corre was involved. Barrett said he hopes for a speedy recovery for Long. Barrett said he hopes in time Cena respect him, much like he respects Cena.

Daniel Bryan & Bella Twins vs. Maryse, Alicia Fox & Ted Dibiase
Mixed Gender Tag Match

Dibiase and Bryan were resetting in the ring but Dibiase was close to the corner where Maryse slapped his back for a tag. Maryse went in to face one of the Bellas. Meanwhile, the other Bella was trying to get Bryan to kiss her on the apron. The distraction allowed Maryse to rollup the legal Bella Twin for the pinfall victory. Post-match, The Bellas argued as Bryan tried to get them to stop.

Winners: Maryse, Alicia Fox & Ted Dibiase win via pinfall over Daniel Bryan & The Bella Twins.

The Bella Twins were backstage arguing over what just happened during their match. They started to fight about Daniel Bryan and then tried to go to his dressing room. They opened the door to find Bryan kissing Gail Kim on a couch. The Bellas confronted him over what was going on. Bryan said Gail's his girlfriend and the Bellas asked if he was stringing them along all this time. Gail told the Bellas that Bryan felt sorry for them because there weren't any more Raw guest hosts to escort to the ring. The Bellas took exception to it and called Gail an afterthought who gets no TV time any more. Gail slapped one of The Bellas and the catfight began. Eventually some referees showed up to get The Bellas out of there, as Bryan pulled Gail back to the couch.

The New Nexus members arrived to the ring for the upcoming match.

Cole announced that Edge and Orton team up to face Miz and Ziggler on Smackdown this Friday.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Michael McGillicutty & Husky Harris

Late in the match, Santino was going for a tag to Kozlov, but Harris got up and rushed over to knock Vlad off the apron. Santino regained control against Harris, then prepared for the Cobra. McGill stepped in to the ring then back to the apron, causing Santino to rush after him. The distraction allowed Harris to clobber Santino with a clothesline and then hit a spinning DDT face plant move for the win.

Post-match, Otunga and Ryan got in the ring to kick Santino out to the floor. They all raised arms together, then Otunga got on the mic. He introduced CM Punk for the next match. All of the Nexus members in the ring raised their arms up as Punk came out to the ramp.

Winners: Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty win via pinfall over Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov.

CM Punk vs. Wade Barrett

The loser of this match would find himself and his entire team out of the 2011 Royal Rumble. With Punk and New Nexus in the ring, The Corre arrived to the ring next to stare down Nexus. Finally, Cena arrived to the ring, tore off his shirt and revealed a referee's shirt.

Before the match could even start, Cena pointed to the Nexus guys outside the ring and ordered them to leave ringside. After a bit of a stir, they finally did so. Cena did the same thing to The Corre guys on the outside, leaving just Punk and Barrett in the ring. Punk stopped them yet again and then shoved Punk down. Punk bounced back up and was going to hit Cena, but Cena held out the WWE patch on his ref's shirt to remind him he's in charge. Cena turned around and slapped Barrett in the face.

Finally things started up, but Cena continued to clown around. He tossed Punk out of the ring at one point, and at another point left the ring to sign autographs at ringside. He rushed back in apologizing to Barrett for forgetting the match was going. Barrett and Punk collided on a double clothesline move. Cena motioned to the timekeeper area to ring the bell. Cena went over and told Justin Roberts it's a double DQ for excessive profanity. Justin announced that neither man won won neither team would be in the Rumble. Cena smirked as he walked away up the ramp.

Winner: Double disqualification ruled by John Cena.

The Raw GM sent through an email much to the dismay of John Cena. The GM said that the decision of the match can't be changed, but the consequences can be. The GM said both Nexus and The Corre will be competing in Sunday's Rumble. GM added that if Cena didn't go to the ring and apologize to Barrett and Punk, Cena's out of the RR.

Cena arrived back to the ring, after taking off his shirt and apologized to each man, but then started to beat on them one-by-one. Nexus and Corre members soon rushed the ring, but Cena wisely escaped. However, a slew of Raw and Smackdown superstars all rushed to the ring, giving an early preview of the 2011 Royal Rumble. Big Show, Mark Henry, R-Truth and Yoshi Tatsu were just a few of the individuals fighting when Raw went off the air.

Raw Preview 01/23/11

On tonight's episode of Raw, John Cena will certainly be looking for answers. Last week's show concluded with Cena receiving a starting slam to the mat from a mysterious new Nexus member. The huge new competitor even kicked down CM Punk, disqualifying him in the match. It was an odd sequence of events which eventually finished with Punk putting a Nexus armband around the new member's arm. Now, The Nexus appears even stronger than before as Punk leads Harris, McGillicutty, Otunga and the new mystery wrestler in a quest to destroy Cena and dominate the 2011 Royal Rumble. Will the identity of the new Nexus member be revealed, and will Cena strike back?

Also, John Morrison is on quite the win streak, after a huge victory over US Champion Daniel Bryan, in a non-title matchup. Morrison went toe-to-toe with WWE Champion, The Miz, weeks before, and also defeated Sheamus in a #1 contender ladder match at TLC. It appears that the momentum is carrying Morrison towards another title match, possibly the United States title? Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan will have his hands full as the Bella Twins have put a friendly wager on who can seduce the superstar first. Which Bella will win, and will it cost Bryan his US Title in the process?

And finally, the 2011 Royal Rumble will be arriving less than a week from Monday. Randy Orton and The Miz are preparing for yet another major battle over the WWE Championship. In the past matches, The Miz has managed to win thanks to help from Michael Cole and Alex Riley. This latest match will be a regular one-on-one contest, but how will The Viper, and The Miz prepare for one another? Also, how will the superstars of the Raw roster get ready for the Rumble?

Find out on tonight's exciting edition of WWE Raw airing at 9PM EST on USA!

WWE Royal Rumble 2011 has 40 Participants

The WWE announced earlier in the week that this year's Royal Rumble will feature not 30, but 40 participants. That's a 10 wrestler increase from the usual format, making many wonder why?

Just looking at the two Nexus factions, Wade Barrett's group on Smackdown, and CM Punk's on Raw, that's almost 1/4th of the Rumble. It seems like having all of these men as part of the match will stories more than produce a winning participant.

Having 40 wrestlers in the match also makes it a strong possibility that someone from one of the championship matches will end up entering the Rumble. It's possible that either Dolph Ziggler or Randy Orton loses their match, then gets into the Rumble somehow to get the big win.

There's also the possibility that a Superstar makes a surprise return to the Rumble. This could be Triple H or The Undertaker at this point. Either one could win the match and go on to a headlining match at WM27.

Or it could be to give the winner the ultimate in bragging rights after the win. Someone like Alberto Del Rio could continually claim that he won the biggest Rumble ever, a match featuring 39 other superstars. It would be similar to the claim that Chris Jericho could hold about defeating The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night.

Either way, January 30th, 2011 is going to offer one interesting Royal Rumble match!

Raw Results 01/17/11

Raw Results from Little Rock, AR:

Tonight's WWE Raw opened with a video to pay tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. with sound clips from his "I Have a Dream" speech included. Michael Cole welcomed viewers to Little Rock just before John Cena's theme music hit to bring out the superstar to a cheering crowd. They showed highlights of the new Nexus attacking Cena in the ring 3 weeks ago.

Cena talked about the beating, and said this is his first time in a WWE ring in 2011. Cena says he has a list of New Year's Resolutions including take care of CM Punk tonight and go on to Wrestlemania to become the new WWE Champion. Cena called Punk to come out, but instead he got The Miz and Alex Riley, both dressed in suits. Miz questioned if Cena really thinks he'll win back the WWE title at Wrestlemania. Miz and Riley came to the ring with Miz still talking.

The Miz told Cena that this year's Rumble will have 40 men competing instead of the usual 30 and whoever wins gets to choose which title they fight for at Wrestlemania, either the WWE or World Championship. Miz told whoever wins the Rumble not to come after him, because they'll suffer the same fate as Randy Orton at their title match in two weeks; they'll lose. Cena said if it wasn't for Cole, Jerry Lawler would be champion, and if not for Alex Riley, Randy Orton would be the champ now.

Cena made jokes about Riley, Cole and Miz. Miz told Cena he can fight with the best brawlers in WWE history, and everyone knows it. Cena said Miz won't make it past the Rumble and go on to Wrestlemania as the champion. Cena asked Miz if his corny jokes had gotten under his skin, then told him to do something about it. Cena stared Miz down, but just then CM Punk and the Nexus arrived to the stage.

After Miz and Riley left the ring, Punk talked about the fact 40 guys are in the Rumble and Punk is in it with the three other Nexus members. Punk said each of the Nexus guys in the Rumble has the sole job of making sure Cena's chances of winning are 0%. Punk sent Otunga, Harris and McGillicutty to the ring to take down Cena. They started to try the beatdown, but Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov showed up to spoil the party, chasing them off to save Cena. Nexus regrouped with Punk, so he walked to the ring with them saying "see how you do with these odds."

An email from the Raw GM came through, asking what the odds are of CM Punk beating John Cena one-on-one tonight if Nexus is banned from ringside. The GM said if any Nexus member gets involved they will be officially out of the Royal Rumble match.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. The Usos
WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Tamina was on the apron with the tag champs as they were introduced. In the match, Kozlov hit a huge powerslam for a near fall, but Jey Uso arrived in to break things up. Kozlov tossed Jey out of the ring, then went to fight Jimmy. Jimmy kicked Kozlov into the corner and tried to jump at him, but Kozlov batted him down. Santino tagged in and then hit the Cobra for the win.

Winners: Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov win via pinfall over The Usos to retain the WWE tag titles.

Backstage, Otunga, Harris and McGillicutty were all arguing about what to do now that they're banned from ringside. CM Punk came in and they all shut up. Punk stared at McGillicutty for a while, then turned to Harris and Otunga and said "Faith" with a big smile. Punk stood there for a bit then walked off. Cole said he doesn't seem concerned about having to face Cena on his own.

John Morrison was walking backstage and came up to Daniel Bryan. The Bella Twins soon came up to Bryan and kissed him, then escorted him down the hall. Morrison stood there then took off his glasses and chuckled.

They showed highlights of John Morrison's big win over Sheamus last week.

Daniel Bryan vs. John Morrison

After JMo got to the ring they showed a video highlight clip of Morrison's various daredevil ring antics. Daniel Bryan and the Bellas arrived to the ring next.

In the late stages of this one, Bryan and JMo traded pinfall reversals. Bryan tried for the Lebell Lock but Morrison kept him from locking it on, then turned it into a catapult to send Bryan to the corner. Morrison hit the mule kick from the ropes, then came from against the ropes to deliver the big knee to Bryan's head for the pinfall win.

Post-match, Morrison posed for the crowd then he and Bryan shook hands center ring. All of a sudden King Sheamus came out to the stage with a mic in hand. Sheamus claimed that he made Morrison as good as he is, but then said neither JMo or Bryan are in his league. Sheamus said he's going to concquer 39 other WWE stars to win the Royal Rumble, because it's a match designed for a king. Sheamus promised to eliminate Bryan and Morrison as well.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over Daniel Bryan.

Highlights were shown from last Monday's match involving Orton/Lawler versus Miz/Riley. Orton hit the RKO on Riley, then stared down Miz. After Lawler tagged in, Orton kept staring at Miz to prevent him from interfering. Lawler scored the winning pinfall on Riley.

Raw returned with a report on the Mashable Awards 2010. Cole thanked the WWE Universe for standing up for WWE.

The Bella Twins were walking backstage talking about how great John Morrison looked tonight. The topic turned to who would be Daniel Bryan's first. Nikki and Brie ended up making a wager over who Bryan would fall prey to first, saying "may the best Bella win."

Justin Roberts introduced Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero who came to the ring without a mic, then took one from Justin Roberts. Vickie Guerrero gave the introduction for Dolph Ziggler as the man who will beat Edge at the Royal Rumble PPV in two weeks.

Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler

Late in the match, Ziggler hit the Zig Zag to take down Orton for the pin. Orton managed to kick out at the last moment. Moments later, Ziggler jumped on Randy's back to lock a sleeper hold on. He brought him down to the mat, with Orton rolling towards the ropes. Orton finally managed to get to his feet and to the ropes to break it. For the finish, Ziggler went for yet another Zig Zag, but Orton was ready with the RKO to take him down from the air and got the winning pinfall.

Post-match, Miz and Riley hit the ring fast to give Orton a stompdown. They took Orton to the outside for more. Miz pulled the cover off the announcers table, but Lawler got up to intervene. Riley tried to attack, but Lawler punched him down. Miz grabbed Lawler and tossed him over the crowd barrier. Miz and Riley overwhelmed Orton, shoving him into the ringpost and throwing him through the barrier in front of the timekeeper's area. Miz grabbed a mic, crouched down near Orton and whispered his catch phrase.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler.

They replayed what just happened with Miz and Riley attacking Orton after his win against Ziggler.

Backstage, CM Punk was on one knee giving a speech to the Nexus guys. Punk told them "Faith" and that one must be willing to sacrifice their all to bow before the temptations of the blood-thirsty. Punk talked about the qualities of loyalty which they must all possess.

Natalya vs. Maryse

Melina and Eve joined Michael Cole on commentary for the match. Melina wouldn't respond to any of Cole's comments or questions, but Eve talked about how Natalya helped her get to where she is. Late in the match, Natalya put Maryse into the Sharpshooter. Maryse tried to crawl towards the bottom rope, but Natalya pulled her back to center ring. Maryse tapped out.

Post-match, Maryse went ballistic. She got out of the ring and started to yell at Cole. Eve got up from her chair, went over and shoved Maryse then walked off. Maryse kept yelling at Cole, until finally Dibiase arrived to ringside. Maryse told him he's making her lose now. Dibiase got a mic and questioned whether Maryse or anyone else there thinks he can win the Royal Rumble. Dibiase issued an open challenge to anyone backstage that he'll toss them over the top rope right now.

Winner: Natalya wins due to submission over Maryse.

Mark Henry vs. Ted Dibiase
Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge

After a commercial break, Mark Henry came to the ring to answer Dibiase's challenge. The ref rolled out of the ring for this open challenge fight from Dibiase. Dibiase tried to knock Henry off balance with a dropkick, but Henry got in a few power moves, then simply tossed Dibiase out of the ring.

William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu and Tyson Kidd all got in the ring to try to eliminate Henry. Zack Ryder, Primo, DH Smith, Darren Young and R-Truth all got involved as well. Regal got tossed out, then Primo and Tyso Kidd eliminated each other. Henry pressed Mark Henry overhead, but Sheamus rushed into the ring and clipped Henry. Sheamus then eliminated everyone else except Henry. Henry dumped Sheamus over the top rope, but Sheamus held on and climbed back into the ring. Sheamus tried to beat on Henry, but Henry got him in a Bear Hug and tossed him out of the ring.

Post-match, Alberto Del Rio drove out next to the crowd in a 2008 Bentley worth $200k. Del Rio talked about it being his destiny to win the Royal Rumble and go on to be at Wrestlemania competing for the championship.

Winner: Mark Henry wins the over-the-top-rope challenge against Ted Dibiase.

Derrick Bateman of WWE NXT Season 4 had an infomercial for a World's Strongest Man musk. Mark Henry gave some warning indications about it. Cole and Lawler just stared at the camera after it was over with Cole saying Bateman can be seen tomorrow night on WWE.com.

They introduced a "by the numbers" video clip about Royal Rumble which has 24 different winners over the years. Since 1998, 656 superstars have tried to win the Rumble but lost. Shawn Michaels has the most eliminations over the years. 183,932 pounds is the astronomical mass of humanity to have competed in the Rumble. Two females have competed in the Rumble ever. Kane has competed in the most consecutive matches at 13. Rey Mysterio has the record for longest stay in the match, while Santino has the record for the shortest at just 1 second. Stone Cold Steve Austin has 3 Rumble wins, the most by any superstar. The #1 and #30 spots have produced the same number of winners. The video closed with the "Living in a Dream" theme song playing as various WWE Superstars were shown.

Cole talked about the title matches for the Rumble, then said next week it will be Champion versus Champion as Edge competes against The Miz on Raw, a week ahead of the Rumble.

The Nexus members tried to follow Punk out to the ring, but Punk stopped them on stage then walked down the ramp backwards. The Nexus guys held their arms up to salute their leader, then went backstage. Cole and Lawler reviewed the initiations each of the Nexus guys endured by each other and CM Punk last week. Lawler said Slater and Gabriel had the brains to walk away last week.

John Cena vs. CM Punk

Late in the match, Punk sent Cena into the corner, then hit the running knee in his face. Punk followed with the bulldog on Cena to slam him face first to the mat. Punk signaled for GTS, but Cena grabbed Punk's knee and brought him down to the mat for the STF. Punk managed to crawl to the ropes to break the hold. Later in the match, Punk was able to avoid the AA by getting to the ropes and then the apron. He did a springboard clothesline off the top rope to take down Cena for another near fall.

Later in the match, Cena went for AA again, but Punk battled out, then planted Cena face first into the mat. Punk locked his submission hold on Cena, causing Cena's face to start going purple. Cena used his power though and crawled over to grab the ropes and break it. Things went to the outside of the ring, where Punk tried to jump over the ropes onto Cena. Cena caught him and slammed Punk into the ringpost.

All of a sudden, an unidentified man arrived to the ring and got on the apron. Cena got to his feet and stared at the guy, but CM Punk rushed Cena and kicked him down from behind. The man climbed over the top rope and eyed CM Punk. Punk stood up smirking, then walked over to the guy and extended his arms. The man ran against the ropes then kicked Punk down to the mat. The ref called for the DQ immediately. The man started huffing and puffing, then grabbed Cena and hit a huge one-arm slam.

Raw ended with the man getting down on one knee before Punk and the apron. Punk took off his Nexus armband and presented it to their newest member. All five men stood in the ring and raised their arms up in unison.

Winner: No contest due to a double disqualification when an unidentified superstar interfered.

Raw Preview 01/10/11

The headline "Will We See Cena?" stands out on the WWE.com Raw preview page as the WWE Universe questions John Cena and his injury status. Cena was not only attacked by The Nexus and new leader CM Punk, but also was injured by former Nexus leader Wade Barrett at a WWE live event in late 2010. Due to that, Cena was not part of last week's episode of Raw as he recovered from his hip injury. However, there is speculation that John Cena will be on Raw's live episode tonight. Will Cena show up and will he go after CM Punk and The Nexus?

Also on Raw, Randy Orton managed to win a Triple Threat steel cage match to become #1 Contender for The Miz's WWE Championship. Now The Viper will face Miz at Royal Rumble as he attempts to regain the WWE title. The Miz has shown he has the ability to withstand intense competition, as he defeated John Morrison in a Falls Count Anywhere match on last week's Raw. However, many feel that Alex Riley is part of the reason Miz continues to hold onto the title. The Miz and Randy Orton currently rank at #2 and #3 on WWE's "Power 25." What will be in store for The Miz and his challenger, Randy Orton, on tonight's show?

With the Royal Rumble approaching in less than three weeks, the Superstars and Divas of Raw will be looking to gain momentum. Natalya currently holds the Divas Championship but it seems Melina is in line for a title shot. Also, Tyson Kidd has had his eye on Daniel Bryan's United States Championship. Many of the superstars on the Raw roster will also want a spot in the famous Royal Rumble match so they can get a shot at headlining Wrestlemania 27. Will more of the Rumble competitors be announced on tonight's show?

Check out Monday Night Raw tonight at 9PM EST on USA!

Raw Preview 01/03/11

On tonight's episode of WWE Raw, John Morrison will attempt to start the year off with gold. That's because Morrison gets his shot at The Miz and the WWE Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The two former tag team partners and tag champs will do battle with Morrison looking to score big and bring home his first major title. However, The Miz seems to have a slight edge due to the fact he's got Alex Riley and possibly Michael Cole helping him out! Who will prevail in tonight's big battle over the WWE Championship belt?

Also, with the WWE Royal Rumble 2011 approaching fast, many of the Raw superstars are looking to gain entry into the big match. Last year's winner was Edge as he made his return from injury to shock everyone and win the event, eventually getting himself a main event match at Wrestlemania 27. Competitors like Randy Orton, John Cena and Sheamus would all like to win that match, so they will be looking for momentum as they start off the new year.

Speaking of John Cena, it's very likely that he'll want answers from CM Punk, as will the WWE Universe. Last week it was learned that Punk is in fact in charge of The Nexus now. After Nexus attacked John Cena (without Wade Barrett as leader), their new management arrived to the ring, CM Punk. It appears Punk has taken issue with WWE's top star and is going to make Cena's life hell on Raw. What's in store next for Punk and Nexus? Will Punk reveal his plans and why he decided to join The Nexus?

CM Punk joins Nexus, Orton & Sheamus Match

Monday's episode of Raw ended the year with a bang for many, especially John Cena who was once again the victim of CM Punk's attack. This time Punk talked about some of the reasons for his attacks, and it wasn't that spilled diet soda, even though Cena joked about it.

In fact, Punk said it was Cena's dishonesty over being fired, and his barbaric treatment of other wrestlers including Punk's friend Dave Bautista. Punk also cited Cena's chair on a string attack of Wade Barrett at TLC. These all make good sense for Punk's attack. He didn't really mention the fact he and Cena were in a match months ago on Raw when Nexus attacked both of them. Cena got the worst of it, but Punk was attacked on the outside of the ring.

Fast forward to the end of Monday's Raw, and we learn that Nexus has new management. After David Otunga offered John Cena a truce (which Cena turned down), Nexus attacked Cena 5-on-1. Missing was their leader Wade Barrett, who Cena apparently destroyed beyond belief at TLC. We also learned that Nexus' new management appears to be CM Punk, as he donned the Nexus armband then gave an arm raise salute to the other five members.

Is this a good idea, or simply WWE creative staff failing to come up with something better? It seems that CM Punk needs a crew to help him get over. Recall his days as the Straight Edge leader. It's quite possible he'll resume that act with Nexus, or formulate a new agenda.

Can't say I was totally impressed with the story as it involved Cena and Nexus, again. It probably has grown old for many fans. It does raise the interesting question of what will be next for Wade Barrett? Will he return to join Nexus and follow Punk's rule? Or will Barrett turn face or be a solo heel? Maybe he'll return to Smackdown. It seems anyone can just go to whatever show they want anyways (Ezekiel Jackson did).

The other thing that was intriguing about Monday's show was Orton defeating Sheamus. It's not to say Orton isn't capable, but I thought for sure we'd see Sheamus in a major attack on Orton to prompt the return of Triple H. Maybe that's still to come. Sheamus has now lost matches to John Morrison and Orton, making his reign as King seem less mighty.

John Morrison was able to win a match on Raw against Alex Riley- surprise, surprise, which gave JMo the right to choose the time and place of his championship match with The Miz as well as stipulation. Morrison made the choice of Falls Count Anywhere. Knowing that Miz has Alex Riley and Michael Cole on his side, why would Morrison choose that? It almost seems like it will set up another title match for the Royal Rumble, or maybe WWE decided they don't want that as their title match.

So with Raw we got some interesting scenarios set up and others which seem to make less sense. What is in store for Randy Orton? Is The Viper getting a push towards the WWE Title again? What is going on with Sheamus? If he's going to be in a feud with Triple H, shouldn't Sheamus be getting wins?

It seems as if the WWE Title might be lost in a Triple Threat, Fatal Fourway or Six pack challenge. At this point it just doesn't look like Miz will lose it outright to someone else.

What are your thoughts on the latest developments for WWE Raw? Is CM Punk as Nexus leader a good move by WWE? What's next for Wade Barrett, Sheamus and Randy Orton? Does Morrison have a chance to become WWE Champion or is that just a filler until Miz is defeated by someone else?

The Slammy Award went to The Debut of Nexus. Nexus leader Wade Barrett arrived out by himself to accept the award for Shocker of the Year. Barrett bragged about Nexus' power and his own power to bring back John Cena. He reminded fans of the ultimatum from last week that he must rehire Cena or be excommunicated from the group. Wade said he'll make a decision on that before the evening ends. Wade thanked everyone and went to leave but the lights flashed to signal an email from the Raw GM. Punk asked to read it, but Cole got up. The Raw GM said Barrett can give the WWE Universe another shocking moment in a match right now against this man...the Big Show arrived out from backstage and walked up, then took Barrett's Slammy trophy from him before heading to the ring.

Big Show vs. Wade Barrett

Big Show got the upperhand eventually after Wade tried to leave the ring multiple times. On the outside, Show chest slapped Barrett multiple times. Finally Barrett had enough, he left the ring and grabbed his Slammy Trophy then walked up the ramp to leave the match.

Cole said fans will vote on 2010 Slammy for Superstar of the Year. Up for the award are John Cena, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Kane, The Miz and Edge.

CM Punk won and ecstatically jumped up from his seat slapping hands with Cole. Punk made his acceptance speech about working hard and believing in yourself to make all your dreams come true. Punk said he did what he did to Mysterio because he wronged him. Punk said right now backstage there's another individual who has wronged him, and there will come a day when he gets even. Punk said if they think what he did to Mysterio is despicable they haven't seen anything yet.

Just then, Kofi Kingston arrived out as Punk was hoisting up his Slammy Trophy.

Daniel Bryan & Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler & Ted Dibiase

Bryan was accompanied out by both Bella Twins for this Raw/Smackdown tag match. Vickie Guerrero arrived out with IC champ Dolph Ziggler, while Maryse arrived out on Dibiase's arm.

Bryan had been dominated by the heels but finally broke away from them to make the hot tag to Kofi. Kofi came in against Ziggler, with multiple take downs and the boom boom leg drop. He began to rev the crowd up for Trouble in paradise. As Ziggler stood up, Kofi connected on it. He pinned Ziggler, with Dibiase getting back in the ring to try to make a save but he couldn't. The Bellas got in the ring to raise the arms of Bryan and Kofi. Maryse and Vickie showed disgust outside the ring.

Winners: Daniel Bryan & Kofi Kingston win via pinfall over Ziggler & Dibiase.

The WWE Tag champions Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella arrived out in street clothes to present the nominees for Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year: Mike Tyson, Pee Wee Herman, Wayne Brady and William Shatner. The winner of the award was Pee Wee Herman, but he wasn't there live to accept so they had pre-recorded video comments on the Titantron from Pee Wee.

They showed Wade Barrett backstage putting the Slammy Trophy up on a shelf in the locker room when the rest of Nexus walked in. Otunga asked what his decision is. Wade didn't say anything. Otunga said the fact Barrett walked out on his match against Show doesn't make his singles career look so promising. Barrett chuckled about it, then thanked Otunga saying he just made up his mind.

Mark Henry vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes

Cody took exception to Henry smushing him in the face, so he got him with a dropkick low to the legs. From there, Rhodes focused his attack on the grounded Henry.

Late in the match, Henry hip splashed into Rhodes in the corner. On the second charge, Rhodes moved out of the corner, then did his kick from off the ropes to Henry's head. He kicked Henry in the leg to ground him, then delivered a knee drop to the back of Henry's spine. Rhodes followed with a big pinfall for the victory.

Winner: Dashing Cody Rhodes wins via pinfall over Mark Henry.

Jerry "The King" Lawler and Vickie Guerrero arrived out to present nominees for the Slammy: "Holy $%(@%)@ Move of the Year." Lawler cracked a joke about being up all night due to his lizard's vet visit. Vickie asked what was wrong and Lawler joked "Reptile dysfunction." Vickie joked that Holy $(%)%)! was her reaction when Michael Cole cost Lawler the WWE Title. Lawler joked it's Ziggler's reaction whenever Vickie tries to model new lingerie, or when the waiter brings her a menu and she says "I'll take it."

Nominees for the "Holy $%@%)@ Move" award were Morrison off the stage scaffolding onto 2 men, Kofi Kingston off a ladder to crash down on a guy through a table, Cena hitting Attitude Adjustment with Batista up on the stage from a car roof, Evan Bourne going for Air Bourne but Orton getting him with the RKO mid-air. Just then, Wade Barrett came out from backstage to interrupt. He took the Trophy from Lawler and said if Cena wants it he can come get it. Barrett headed to the ring saying the world is awaiting his decision on whether or not to re-hire Cena. In the ring, Wade said his decision was..he hesitated several times, drawing more heat and Cena chants from the fans. Wade finally said he won't make his decision unless Cena comes to the ring now to face him.

After several moments, John Cena appeared in the crowd. He made his way to the ring hugging fans and slapping their hands. He finally got into the ring with Barrett telling him to keep his distance. Barrett said he's had to think long and hard over the decision, because it affects him, Cena and The Nexus. The rest of Nexus arrived from backstage to circle the ring. Cena tore off his shirt and wristband to get ready for a fight. Barrett said Cena's officially re-hired, but on two conditions: 1)he agrees to face him Sunday at TLC in a Chair match and 2)he agrees to go one-on-one tonight against David Otunga.

Barrett then got out of the ring as the rest of Nexus went in and ganged up on Cena, beating him down. Barrett returned with a steel chair. As Cena started to get up, Barrett smashed a steel chair down on him multiple times. Nexus stood over Cena looking down at him, then left the ring.

When Raw returned they showed a replay of what just happened with Nexus and John Cena in the ring, ending with the chair bashing by Wade Barrett. Michael Cole reminded fans of the Slammy Winners so far tonight including Wade Barrett, CM Punk and Pee Wee Herman.

Miz got down on one knee saying how beautiful Kailey looked, then asked to hold her Slammy Award. The girl gave him the look again before leaving backstage. Miz walked down to the ring with his WWE Title, as Riley hoisted up the Slammy. Arquette walked down there with them to ringside. Miz told people to tune into TLC on Sunday to see him put Orton through a table. Miz kept ranting until the lights flashed for an email from the Raw GM. The GM said both Miz and Orton will be in action tonight, facing former champions. Miz would face a former World Champ, right now...Rey Mysterio arrived out to the crowd cheers.

Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz

After a commercial break, Mysterio was in control of the match. He managed to get Miz against the ropes and was setting up for the 619, but all of a sudden Alberto Del Rio's music hit. Del Rio arrived out to cause a distraction from the ramp. Miz slipped out of the ring. Mysterio slid out over Miz and was about to go up the ramp, then turned to go back after Miz. Miz grabbed Mysterio and dropped him face first onto the apron to gain the upperhand in the match.

Later after Miz had some offense on Mysterio for a while, Rey tripped Miz into the ropes for another 619 attempt. Del Rio got up on the apron so Mysterio got in his face. Miz tried to hit Mysterio from behind, but Rey ducked it and Miz punched Del Rio off the apron. Moments later, Alex Riley distracted the ref on another 619 attempt. Del Rio tripped Mysterio from the outside of the ring. Miz went over and got him into the small package pin which the ref counted for Miz's win.

Post-match, Arquette and Riley got in the ring to celebrate with Miz after Rey chased Del Rio backstage. The lights flashed to signal another email from the Raw GM. He said Miz just faced a former champion in Mysterio. Later tonight Orton will have a handicap match against Alex Riley and his partner, former World Champion, David Arquette. Edge said after all these years one thing is still true - "Michael Cole is a massive tool." Cole started to have a meltdown of his own.

John Morrison vs. King Sheamus

Sheamus arrived out in a black and gold cape with a crown and sceptre. As soon as the bell rang, Sheamus went at Morrison in the corner. The ref held Sheamus back but he still got some shots in. Finally, the Raw GM sent an email as multiple refs got in the ring to pull Morrison and Sheamus apart. The Raw GM said their issue hasn't been resolved tonight, but it will be at TLC. The Raw GM ordered the two will compete at TLC in a #1 Contender's Ladder Match. The winner becomes #1 Contender for the WWE Title. Sheamus rushed over to knock Morrison down again, then got out of the ring to yell at Cole. Sheamus grabbed a ladder that was standing outside the ring and as Morrison came over towards the ropes, Sheamus rammed him in the gut with the ladder. Sheamus got back in the ring to further beat up Morrison. He picked up Morrison on his shoulders and threw him over the top rope onto the ladder outside the ring.

Arquette saw it and backed away fast to tag Riley back in.

Later in the match, the ref was distracted by Riley as Arquette choked Orton in the corner. Not long after that Orton regained control and hit the RKO on Riley for the win. Post-match, Miz snuck in with his MITB briefcase and bashed Orton down from behind. Miz told Arquette to get in the ring, as Miz slid out and grabbed a table from ringside. He brought it back into the ring to set up. Arquette and Miz went for the double suplex on Orton, but Orton blocked it. Orton shoved Arquette to the corner, then tried to grab Miz.

Arquette was back up and hit Orton from behind, allowing Miz to escape the ring. Arquette saw Orton stare him down and tried to rush out of the ring. Barrett had them roll footage from earlier when Nexus beat down Cena and then Barrett smashed a chair down on him.

After the replay, Barrett went and lined up on stage with the rest of Nexus. Otunga went down the line and banged forearms with the other Nexus guys. He stopped at Barrett who didn't bang forearms with him. David gave him a nod, then headed down to the ring. When Otunga got up on the apron, Barrett gave the Nexus guys looks and they each headed backstage one by one. Barrett went backstage leaving Otunga out there alone to face Cena, just like Otunga had the Nexus guys do to Barrett last week.

Cena immediately threw Otunga into the ring and started the beatdown, taking out his pent-up frustration on Otunga. Cena smashed Otunga face first into the corner, then whipped him to the opposite. Cena charged at him, but Otunga moved out of the way then gained the upperhand as he kicked away on Cena. Otunga continued to control the match and had a near fall with Cena kicking out.
