WWE Superstars Results 07/15/10

WWE Superstars results 07/15/10:

Todd Grisham opened the show reminding fans that we're just 3 days away from Money in the Bank 2010 PPV. Smackdown's JTG arrived out for the opening contest, followed by Chavo Guerrero. Striker and Grisham talked about the buzz over Money in the Bank.

JTG vs. Chavo Guerrero

They reviewed what happened in Smackdown's Triple Threat match involving Chavo, MVP and Dolph Ziggler. Vickie Guerrero was at ringside and the plan was for Chavo to help Ziggler win, but Chavo got greedy at one point and went for the pin. Vickie was furious. Dolph eventually won.

In the late stages of this first match, Chavo had the upperhand as he smashed JTG into the corner turnbuckle. Chavo kept punching away until the ref pulled him away. When Chavo went back at JTG he got a clothesline. JTG set up for his corner move, but when he went to jump, Chavo dropped him face first on the turnbuckle. With JTG down on the mat, Chavo went out to the apron then onto the top rope for the Frogsplash.

Winner: Chavo Guerrero wins via pinfall over JTG.

Striker talked about WWE.com's exclusive look at the 39 total WWE Champions over the history of the WWE title. Sheamus is now enjoying the 100th title reign.

Jamin Canceco & Matt Cross vs. Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer

At one point, Canceo escaped from Archer and tagged Matt Cross. Cross began to run down the apron but got punched off by Vance Archer. At one point, Cross also had a sneaky rollup pinfall on Archer. Archer was upset over it and leveled the guy with a clothesline. From there, it was time for his inverted DDT finisher followed by Hawkins' elbow drop off the corner.

Winner: Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer win via pinfall over Jamin Canceco & Matt Cross.

They rolled highlights from Tuesday's NXT on SyFy. Percy Showtime Watson got his own in-ring talk show and had MVP as the guest. He had all the rookies join him in the ring, so MVP had the Pros come down. Striker came out saying it appeared the rookies are testing the Pros. Striker suggested a battle royal. Nexus was there and decided to join in. The six Nexus guys got the upperhand in the Battle Royal, beating down John Morrison, Kofi Kingston and Cody Rhodes to win it.

The Bella Twins were shown backstage heading out for the next match.

The Bella Twins vs. Jillian & Maryse

Jillian broke out in a song before the match dedicated to Bella Twins "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better".

At one point in this match, Maryse was knocked face down on the mat. The ref became distracted trying to keep the Bellas at bay. Jillian rushed into the ring and rolled Maryse out, then layed down in her spot, trying to pull a Bella Twins fake out. The ref spotted the move though and told Jillian to get back on the apron.

Later, Maryse gained the upperhand on the Bella, then tagged Jillian. The two heels kicked away on the legal Bella in the corner. Maryse finally went back to the apron. Jillian picked up her Bella twin and did a Samoan drop, then pounded away on her. The ref backed her off and was distracted. While he dealt with Jillian, the Bellas pulled another switcharoo move. As Jillian went back at the Bella on the mat, she was surprised with a pinfall.

Jillian sold disbelief in the ring as Maryse had seen it all from the apron but was unable to warn her partner.

Winners: The Bella Twins win via pinfall over Jillian & Maryse.

Superstars came back with highlights from 2005's Money in the Bank match which Edge won. He didn't cash in the briefcase until 10 months later at New Year's Revolution when he defeated John Cena for the WWE Title. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talked about the upcoming MITB PPV, then shifted focus to what Nexus did on Raw. They showed how they defeated John Cena in the 6-on-1 handicap match for the main event. After the match, they went for more punishment on Cena. Cena responded by going and getting a steel chair. He was soon joined by Sheamus who also had a steel chair. Cole and Lawler ran down the MITB matches for Sunday.

Chris Jericho was introduced for the Superstars main event.

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Chris Jericho

Yoshi gained control early on after knocking Jericho to the outside of the ring. He hit the baseball slide dropkick then went out to bring Jericho back into the ring. As Yoshi went to the corner ropes for a move, Jericho was back to his feet and shoved Yoshi off. Tatsu landed hard outside and Superstars went to break.

After break, Jericho continued to strike away. He kneed Yoshi with his kneepad catching Yoshi in the forehead to cause bleeding. As Jericho tossed Yoshi out of the ring, the ref and a WWE trainer went to check on him. Jericho layed on the corner, then got a chair to take a seat in the ring as the match was paused.

The ref allowed the match to continue as the cut was covered up to stop bleeding. Jericho continued his attack. He missed on a running knee move and landed groin first on the ropes. Yoshi had momentum and delivered kicks and chops. After the two traded offense for several more moments, Jericho threw Tatsu to the outside. Yoshi held the bottom rope and pulled himself back in. He started kicking away on Jericho, then hit a roundhouse kick to KO Jericho. Instead of taking the pin, Yoshi went to the corner for a finisher.

Jericho avoided getting hit by Yoshi flying off the corner. From there, Jericho slapped Walls of Jericho on. Tatsu tried to withstand it and crawl towards the bottom rope. Jericho pulled him back in and locked the move tighter to make him tap.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins via submission over Yoshi Tatsu.
