WWE Releases 6 Superstars, 1 Diva on Thursday

The WWE has reportedly been cleaning house as of Thursday, June 12, with a total of seven superstars or pro wrestling talents released by the company. Among them are mostly superstars who weren’t seen much recently on Raw, Smackdown or the pay-per-view events. However, WWE diva Aksana was featured recently as part of a divas match, but was let go by the company. Brodus Clay and former GM Teddy Long were also part of the releases.

6/12 Update: Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, known for their affiliation with 3MB, have both been released by WWE. Referee Marc Harris was also released, bringing the total to 10 as of Thursday afternoon.

6/12 Update: JTG has been released as of early Thursday evening, bringing the total to 11.

The full list of released superstars includes: Aksana, Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne, Camacho, Yoshi Tatsu, Curt Hawkins, and Teddy Long. Long served as GM for the Smackdown show as well as ECW/NXT for some time, and had recurring roles on Raw, as well as appearances on multiple pay-per-views. Of those named, Teddy Long appeared in the WWF/WWE since 1998, first debuting as a referee, giving him the longest tenure of anyone else let go.

Curt Hawkins is a former tag team champion along with Zack Ryder. Evan Bourne is also a former tag champion, holding the belt once along with Kofi Kingston. Bourne was sidelined by injury in March 2012 when a car accident resulted in a broken foot with five dislocated bones. Bourne was also suspended twice by WWE for failing their wellness policy testing.

As expected, WWE wished all of those released, “best of luck in their future endeavors.”

WWE NXT Results 03/07/12

Here are the latest WWE NXT Redemption results for the 3/7/12 episode on WWE.com.

Matt Striker started the show in the ring and introduced the new Match Coordinator, William Regal.  Regal spoke about wanting to deliver the best possible matches to the fans.  He was interrupted by Maxine who came to the ring.  She flirted with Regal saying she was looking forward to working underneath him.  Regal said he was looking forward to seeing her in action, against the daughter of the great Jimmy Snuka, Tamina.

Tamina Snuka def. Maxine by pinfall.  Tamina hit her Superfly Splash from the corner to win it.

Curt Hawins and Tyler Reks came down to the ring and started talking trash about William Regal being put in charge of the show.  Regal got fed up and stood up from the commentary area, pushing a mop bucket on wheels over.  He told them their job for the night would be to clean the toilets in Mohegan Sun, or else not show up next wee for NXT.  Hawkins and Reks reluctantly walked over and got the mop and bucket from Regal.

Johnny Curtis def. Yoshi Tatsu by pinfall.  Late in the match, Curtis went for a Superplex with Yoshi shoving him off the corner.  Yoshi went for his spinning side kick off the corner, but Curtis moved out of the way.  From there, Curtis followed with his finisher a suplex flapjack style move.

McGillicutty was backstage showing Matt Striker footage from their match last week and started telling Striker why Kidd's a loser.  Striker was reluctant to listen to him, and Kidd walked up.  Kidd told Matt to leave.  He told McGill he wants his rematch.  McGill laughed the idea off, so Kidd kneed him in the gut, and told him to give it a thought.

Backstage, Curtis was rubbing lotion on his body, when Maxine came walking up.  She told Curtis to play along and pulled him towards her so she could start pretending she was biting his ear.  Bateman came walking in from the outside and asked if it was an "NXT rerun."  He asked what they did to Kaitlyn since she wasn't there.  Curtis joked she got gingivitis after kissing Bateman.  Maxine said she hopes she shows up because next week they have a mixed tag match.  Maxine went to walk off and Curtis put his arm around her to go with her, then she shoved him off behind Bateman's back.

Bateman bumped into Reks who was mopping the floor with Hawkins.  He told Reks he stinks, then hit Hawkins in the gut before walking off.  Next Percy Watson came up and cracked jokes on how they looked like Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez.  As Percy walked away, Hawkins yelled "Loved you on Family Matters."

They showed the Raw Rebound covering John Cena and The Rock's latest encounter in Boston, MA.

Darren Young def. Jey Uso by pinfall.  Jimmy Uso was on commentary during the match with Regal and Matthews.  Late in the match, Jey had a comeback and started to rev the crowd up with the Us-O chant.  He went for the running hip check splash in the corner, but Young moved away.  From there, Young grabbed Jey's tights and yanked him down into a schoolboy pinfall.

Percy Watson def. Titus O'Neil .  Late in the match, Titus had a headlock on Percy.  He released it and went for a pinfall, then put the headlock back on.  The crowd tried to get Percy motivated, and he managed to break the hold.  Percy made a big comeback including a huge dropkick and his Showtime Splash for a near fall.  He hit the Percycution finisher and got the win by pinfall.

Post-match, as Percy was celebrating up on the corner, Hawkins and Reks rushed down to the ring with their mops and brooms.  They attacked Percy and tossed him to the mat, then out of the ring.  Hawkins and Reks got on the mic to tell Regal they cleaned up his mess and they're just getting started.  NXT closed with them backing up the ramp and Regal with a strange look on his face.

Kelly eventually managed to get the hot tag and started to take it to the legal Bella in the ring. Kelly did her leg scissors airplane spin move to throw the Bella to the corner, then did her booty to the face move. Kelly hit her finisher the K2 for the pinfall win. Alicia rushed in just in case the illegal Bella tried to interfere, then celebrated with Kelly.

Winners: Alicia Fox & Kelly Kelly win via pinfall over The Bella Twins.

That allowed Swagger to gain control, hitting a Swagger Bomb and then locking in a hold.

In the match's finish, Swagger went for another Swagger Bomb, but this time Truth got his feet up to block. Swagger transitioned that into an attempted Ankle Lock. Truth was able to kick Swagger off of him and then hit the Lil' Jimmy for the win.

WWE NXT Results 01/18/12

WWE NXT Season 5 results from Las Vegas, NV:

The show opened with a video package of the whole Derrick Bateman and Maxine saga involving their relationship.  It ended up with Maxine saying she and Johnny will get married in Vegas, but Bateman discovering that Curtis hacked his cell phone email.

Matthews welcomed fans to the historic milestone 100th episode of NXT.  Tonight will be the wedding ceremony of Johnny Curtis and Maxine.  Lillian Garcia welcomed back "the original voice of NXT" Michael Cole to work commentary with Matthews.  Cole complained that he had to be there, with Matthews claiming he lost a bet last night requiring him to be there.

Titus O'Neil defeated Darren Young by pinfall in a No DQ match.  Late in the match, Young hit his Gut Check finisher, but Titus kicked out of the pinfall.  Young went for it again, but this time Titus fought out of it and hit the "Clash of the Titus" for the win.

Post-match, Titus thanked the fans "for absolutely nothing" and got them booing.  He said he's the star of the show, and competing in these silly NXT challenges has meant nothing.  Titus tells them to get their popcorn ready because he's about to make it a win.

Percy Watson defeated Heath Slater by pinfall.  Towads the end, Slater delivered a huge boot kick to Percy's face.  However, Percy regains composure and hits his finisher, the Percycution to get the pinfall win.

Backstage, Maxine is freaking out about the wedding, with Curtis trying to comfort her.  Maxine leaves, as Kaitlyn is walking by.  Curtis suggests they can get weird if Kaitlyn has some spare time, since he never had his bachelor party.  Kaitlyn whispers no way to him.

Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins defeated Yoshi Tatsu & Trent Baretta by pinfall.  Late in the match, Barreta hit a corner splash on Tyler Reks.  He had a near fall, then ended up taking out Reks from the apron.  Barreta hit a Corkscrew Moonsault for a two count, but Hawkins comes in to break it up.  The ref went over and held Yoshi back from getting into the ring, allowing Hawkins to hit Barreta with his cane.  From there, Reks hits the Burning Hammer finisher for the win.

In the main event segment, the ring had white decorations on the ring corners.  Cole made fun of it saying it looked like toilet paper hanging on trees for Halloween.  Matt Striker came out dressed as Elvis the guy presiding over the ceremony.  He introduced the groom, Johnny Curtis, who brought some random guy to the ring as his best man.  Next out was Maxine in a white short dress covered by some fishnet.  Cole called this "like the white trash wedding."

Maxine asked who the guy was with Curtis was and Curtis tried to remember his name.  Maxine was irked but Striker started the ceremony up.  He asked if anyone objected to the marriage, and Bateman came out.  He told Maxine that Curtis sabotaged things and sent a fake email to her from his iPad.  Maxine slapped Curtis after Bateman had security camera footage shown.

The ceremony ended with Maxine and Bateman beating up Curtis.  Bateman hit some sort of Bulldog/DDT move to leave Curtis layed out on the mat.  Bateman said he always wanted Maxine on top and got ready to leave the ring.  Maxine stopped him, slapped him in the face then started kissing him as the wedding music played.  Cole complained that he just wasted an hour of his life for all of this.

On Raw, he battled Cena to the outside parking area/loading dock, and escaped after tossing Cena into a pile of trash. Later on, Kane's music hit and the arena got dark as Eve was in the ring for her divas match.

Kane didn't show up, but Ryder rushed down to get Eve out of there. Back in the parking area, Zack found out his rental car had a flat tire. Eve told him to hurry up, but Kane attacked Ryder, and eventually tossed him off the loading dock onto a palette. Cena left his match to go back and try to save Ryder, but ended up getting knocked out by Kane.

Kelly responded with a leg scissor lock around Brie's neck as she hung over the ropes. Nikki got on the apron to comfort her sister, with Kelly rushing over to knock Nikki off.

Brie gained the advantage and had a near fall, then started choking Eve on the ropes. She worked over her left arm a bit, with Nikki yanking on it as Brie distracted the ref.

The ref pulled Kelly away as she kept kicking Brie in the corner. Nikki made the switch with Brie, then managed to steal a pin on Kelly, yanking Kelly by the tights into the corner, then using the ropes for leverage.

Post-match, the Bellas celebrated up the ramp with Kelly yelling at them from the ring.

Later in the match, Mahal escaped the Torture Rack and was able to shove Jackson shoulder-first into the corner ringpost. From there, Jinder sat on Jackson's back and put on the Camel Clutch submission. Jackson tried to withstand it but was ultimately forced to tap out.

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Tyson Kidd

Matthews noted that Kidd loves making fun of Yoshi on Twitter all the time. Striker said that Yoshi got the complete collection of Biggie Smalls music for Christmas. He added that Yoshi will be in Times Square for New Year's Eve.

Late in the match, Yoshi had a near fall after a Shining Wizard style move. Yoshi got ready for a roundhouse kick, but Kidd escaped it and hit a Dangerous Buster on Yoshi. Yoshi kicked out of the pinfall. The close saw Kidd go for the Superplex but Yoshi headbutted him off the corner, then hit his flying spin kick for the pinfall win.

Winner: Yoshi Tatsu wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd.

Trent Barreta vs. Darren Young

Striker said something about Barreta just rubs him the wrong way, as if he's "too happy." Striker also talked about how Barreta needs to be more of a jerk and develop an edge. Barreta nearly got the win after a reverse flip/moonsault onto Young from the corner. Young managed to kick out though.

Late in the match, Darren Young crotched Trent on the corner, then went up to fight. Barreta got the upperhand for a bit, but Young managed to get Trent onto his shoulders, then jumped off the corner to hit the Gutcheck for the win.

Winner: Darren Young wins via pinfall over Trent Barreta.

Alex Riley vs. JTG

JTG was accompanied by Tamina to the ring, while Stanford made jokes about JTG having a degree in "Fly-onomics" with a minor in "Chillin' Like a Villain." Early on JTG, shoved A-Ry in the face, prompting Riley to tackle him down and start an attack. Moments later, Riley got booted thanks to a distraction from Tamina at ringside.

Late in the match, JTG worked a headlock on Riley, but A-Ry fought to his feet and escaped it. JTG managed to elbow A-Ry out through the ropes, but as JTG poked his head out, A-Ry kicked him in the head. Riley got back in the ring and the ref counted as both guys struggled to get to their feet. Riley got the control back with punches and a few takedowns. He landed the huge Spinebuster on JTG , then hit the Final Score for the pinfall win. Stanford said Riley's working on another win streak now on Superstars.

They showed the Raw Rebound highlights which featured John Laurinaitis setting up a series of 3 Gauntlet matches for CM Punk. JL said if any of the opponents in the Gauntlet defeated Punk, they'd get a WWE title shot next week on Raw. Punk asked for a match against Laurinaitis if he won them all, to which JL accepted.

Punk's opponents were Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, and then Mark Henry. Punk defeated Swagger in the first match, but lost the second to Ziggler.  Interference from Swagger and a distraction from Laurinaitis helped Ziggler to win. Ziggler gets a WWE title match against Punk next week on Raw.

Air Boom vs. Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks

Stanford said he spoke to Air Boom earlier about the new crop of tag teams going at them and they said "bring on all comers." During the match, Reks and Hawkins worked on Bourne to wear him down, keeping him from tagging Kofi in.

The final moments of the match saw Hawkins miss on a flying chop at Bourne in the corner. Bourne crawled over and finally made the hot tag to Kofi, just as Reks tagged in. Kofi did a tomahawk chop to take down Reks, then knocked Hawkins off the apron. Kofi nearly had the pinfall win, but Hawkins rushed in to break it up. Bourne came in to knock down Hawkins, then delivered a big kick on Reks to knock him down. Moments later, Kofi connected on Trouble in Paradise. He tagged Bourne in, who went onto the top rope and hit Air Bourne for the win.

Maxine said they're trying to plan a wedding. Bateman said he's busy debuting on Smackdown to make a better future for them. Maxine said that Teddy Long asked for Batemax, the power couple, not just him. Maxine told Bateman to get his priorities straight, because there will be no play time until he does.

Maxine left Bateman as he slammed his hands on a nearby cart. Curtis came up to taunt Bateman, suggesting the relationship is in the dumps. Bateman told Curtis to keep his hands and eyes off Maxine or else. He walked off. Curtis said "yeah I got it, and now I'm gonna get her."

They explained what uso means and how it stands for people you love. They had the chant do a "Us-o" response chant.

JTG's music hit and he arrived out with Tamina to the stage. JTG said his baby wants to talk so he handed a mic to Tamina. Tamina said she's got a man now who looks good and has style and who is going to beat Jimmy tonight.

Early on, Jimmy punched JTG out through the ropes, then went out after him. Tamina got in the way allowing JTG to slip back in the ring. Jimmy got right back in and took control again. JTG managed to get his feet up on a charging move in the corner before hitting a dropkick to Jimmy's back.

Jey rallied his brother to a comeback by leading the crowd in a "Us - o" chant. Jimmy hit a hip splash on JTG who was seated in the corner. Moments later, Jimmy landed a superkick to KO JTG on the mat. He followed with the superfly splash for the win.

Percy leapt over the top rope to crash down onto them all before an NXT break.

Percy became the beatdown target for the heels. Reks managed to get a cheapshot move in behind the ref's back, allowing Young to try a couple near falls. WWE NXT Results 10/26/11

WWE NXT Results from Houston, TX:

Jack Korpela opened the show alongside William Regal. Host Matt Striker was in the ring with Titus O'Neil and Derrick Bateman, the two remaining rookies in the redemption season. Bateman had JTG and Maxine with him. Titus had Percy Watson with him. Bateman tried to thank JTG and lock lips with Maxine, but Titus interrupted saying if they wanted to see "Dolphin Tales" they'd go to the movies. He said they don't want to see that, they'd rather see the next breakout star, Titus O'Neil.

Striker intervened and said tonight's challenge is actually "Talk the Talk" and gave each rookie a chance to talk about his opponent. Bateman insulted the local fans telling them to go up the road to see Dallas if they want to see real football. Bateman said he doesn't cater to the WWE Universe like Titus, he caters to a universe of one. He pulled Maxine forward for another kiss.

Titus said he's wearing pink trunks tonight because of losing grandmothers to breast cancer, so he's supporting the cause. That got a big pop from the crowd. Titus kept up his talk and then had the crowd do his dog chant in support of him. Striker had the crowd vote and Titus clearly had their support. Titus got back on the mic to talk more trash about Maxine looking like a fish. Percy Watson dissed JTG's outfit and grandmother chain. That got JTG to punch Percy. Striker intervened in the brawl in the ring, then arranged two matches: Titus vs. Bateman, and Percy vs. JTG, now.

Percy Watson vs. JTG

After a commercial break, JTG managed to knock Percy off the apron. JTG went out of the ring and got down, waited for Percy to stand up and clotheslined him down hard before tossing him back into the ring. A pinfall attempt failed by JTG so he began choking Percy against the ropes.

Later, JTG went for a move off the corner, but Percy got up and hit JTG face-first into his knee to counter. Percy began to strike away on JTg and then dropkicked him down, before a huge clothesline. Percy did his huge splash move for a near fall. He finished JTG with "The Persecution" flapjack slam for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Percy Watson wins via pinfall over JTG.

Backstage, Curt Hawkins was complaining to Tyson Kidd. Apparently, Hawkins was suspended for coming over to "hijack Raw." Matt Striker was there to explain it to him, saying he seems like a smart guy and to just stay cool for a week. Kidd told Striker he might want to be smarter about what he says to a guy with a big stick as Hawkins lifted up a cane he had in hand. Striker told Kidd he's got a match next against one of the Uso's.

Jey Uso vs. Tyson Kidd

The Uso's did their native preparatory dance and chant up on the stage before heading to the ring area. Kidd came out accompanied by Hawkins who was walking with a limp and using his cane down the ramp.

Early on, Kidd took control with a huge kick to take down Jey for a near fall. He followed up with a knee to the throat in the corner area. Kidd kept up the attack with a huge elbow to Jey's face. Jimmy started pounding the mat to rally Jey with the crowd. Jey fought to his feet only for Kidd to throw him down.

Jey hit a huge superkick to knock Kidd down before heading to the apron and up onto the corner. Curt Hawkins went over and hit his cane against the ropes but it didn't really do anything. Jey jumped off the corner for the Splash but Kidd got both knees up. The ref yelled at Hawkins who said he was just watching. Meanwhile as Jey got up still stumbling around, Kidd grabbed him for the Fishermen's neckbreaker move to win it.

Post-match, Hawkins and Kidd tried to make a beatdown/attack. Yoshi Tatsu rushed out to make a big save. The heels backed up the ramp grinning and pointing to the injured Uso's in the ring.

Winner: Tyson Kidd wins via pinfall over Jey Uso.

William Regal gave thanks to Flo Rida for "Good Feeling" the official theme song for 2011 Survivor Series, now available on iTunes.

From there, they launched into Raw Rebound. It covered the events of Monday's Raw where Cena told John Laurinaitis he wanted a match with Miz and Truth because they keep messing with him and he's sick of it. Laurinaitis picked Cena's partner, Zack Ryder, who got beat up backstage by Miz and Truth during his interview. The main event still went forth as a 2-on-1 handicap match, Truth and Miz versus Cena. Truth and Miz tried to attack Cena using steel chairs, but Laurinaitis came down to the ring and told them to leave at once. He granted Cena the choice of his partner for Survivor Series to face Miz and Truth. Cena said he chooses someone who can bring it "The Rock."

Backstage, AJ and Kaitlyn were talking in the locker room. AJ said there is plenty of tension and drama around there. Kaitlyn said she can handle it and she's going to take out Tamina without her seeing it coming tonight. Tamina had walked into the locker room and was behind Kaitlyn. AJ sort of pointed and Kaitlyn turned around to see Tamina. Tamina said she's going to smash Kaitlyn's face all over the ring tonight.

Kaitlyn vs. Tamina

Tamina took control early using power moves to dominate. She put a chinlock on Kaitlyn on the mat with Kaitlyn fighting to get loose. Kaitlyn tried a surprise roll up pinfall but Tamina kicked out then clotheslined her down. Kaitlyn kept trying to fight back with Tamina punching her back down. Tamina went for a big move with Kaitlyn on her shoulders. Kaitlyn countered to turn it into a sunset flip pinfall for the win. Regal called it a full double leg nelson for the pinfall.

Winner: Kaitlyn wins by pinfall over Tamina.

Titus O'Neil vs. Derrick Bateman

Titus got an early start with several slams on Bateman and beat on him in the corner. AJ and Maxine started having a bit of a verbal war with Maxine bringing up AJ's relationship with Titus and Hornswoggle. Bateman escaped the ring and went over towards Maxine to recover. Bateman managed to regain the match once he got back in the ring, knocking Titus off the apron and then jumped off the apron to dropkick him down.

Titus picked up Bateman and slammed him against his knee then used multiple shoulder blocks and punches. He clotheslined Bateman down before getting riled up and doing his dog barking. Titus went for a huge move off the corner, with Bateman avoiding it and slamming Titus to the mat. Bateman then got a quick rollup pinfall for the win.

Post-match, Maxine got in the ring Bateman who called this "the greatest day of my entire life." He said he conquered his biggest foe tonight. Bateman started saying he's always known he loved Maxine and everything he does is for her. Bateman said he had an important question for her, then got down on one knee to ask her to marry him.

Maxine thought about it for a moment than slapped him hard. Bateman was taken back by it. Maxine went over and started to kiss him passionately as they started stumbling around the ring. Bateman stumbled back and yelled out "she said yes!" As Bateman was hugging Maxine she had a weird look on her face like she didn't know what was going on or made a mistake. Meanwhile, Titus and AJ were ringside shaking their heads over it all.

Winner: Derrick Bateman wins via pinfall over Titus O'Neil.
