Raw Results 08/22/11
Here's the latest quick results from WWE's Monday Night Raw, held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Monday, August 22nd, 2011.
The show began with Alberto Del Rio in the ring about to speak. Cena interrupted and came to the ring to call him out for a rematch. CM Punk arrived to confront them both saying he was able to defeat Cena twice for the title, so he gets the rematch. All three guys argued over that and whether or not Triple H is working with Del Rio and Nash. Triple H came out to confront all three, saying he didn't send a text to Nash. He told Del Rio he's got a match next. He told Cena and Punk that the winner between them tonight faces Del Rio at Night of Champions.
Post-match, Del Rio put the armbreaker on again for more damage to Morrison.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio wins due to submission by John Morrison.
In this match, Nikki had control for a bit before Eve made her big comeback. Even went to the corner top rope for her moonsault with Nikki crotching her. Eve was able to comeback from that and hit a spike DDT to get the pinfall win.
Post-match, Natalya and Beth arrived out on stage to mockingly clap for Eve. Kelly held up her Divas championship belt so they could see she's champ.
Winner: Eve Torres wins via pinfall over Nikki Bella.
During the match, Dolph Ziggler arrived down the ramp in a suit. At one point, Vickie Guerrero was knocked down at ringside as Swagger and Riley were fighting. Swagger went to the outside and started arguing with Ziggler. Eventually, Swagger got back in the ring, where Riley rolled him up for a quick three count. Ziggler and Vickie were seen arguing up the ramp post-match.
Winner: Alex Riley wins via pinfall over Jack Swagger.
Triple H came to the ring to call out Kevin Nash so they could clear up the Summerslam texting incident and attack on CM Punk. Nash arrived out and said he thought it was Hunter who sent the text. He said he'd apologize to CM Punk but not after last week. Triple H suggested Nash take it up with Punk somewhere else like a bar outside the arena, since Nash isn't working for WWE. CM Punk arrived to the ring saying he's going to kick Nash's ass for what he did. Hunter got in between them, but Nash hit Punk with a right hand. HHH pulled Nash away, and they left the ring with Punk holding his jaw in the ring.
Later backstage, Nash and HHH were still taking over what happened. HHH told Nash he can't be putting his hands on superstars like that. Nash suggested that maybe HHH has gone soft in the suit. HHH told him to leave and Nash said it's clear Hunter's changed.
Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston vs. David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty
In the latter part of the match, Evan Bourne tagged in. The action broke down, with Kofi going to the outside with McGillicutty. On the ring apron, Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on Otunga. Bourne followed that by hitting Air Bourne from the corner turnbuckle for the win, giving Kofi and Evan the tag team championships.
Winners: Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston defeat David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty by pinfall to win the WWE Tag Team Championships.
Josh Matthews interviewed the new tag champs backstage. Kofi said this is a great feeling since he and Evan have considered teaming up for some time now. Zack Ryder started a champagne celebration for the new champs. NXT stars Titus O'Neil and Derrick Bateman were backstage with some other people to party it up with the champions.
In another area backstage, an out-of-breath John Laurinaitis came rushing up to Triple H. He told him that Nash was in a car crash. He gave HHH some info about where to go check on Nash. Triple H left the building, which seems to leave Raw in the hands of John Laurinaitis for the remainder of the show.
Santino Marella was in the ring for a match, but it never happened. The Miz rushed to the ring to give Santino a beatdown with R-Truth coming to join in on the fun. Eventually refs had to check out Santino. Truth amd Miz talked about the big conspiracy group of the WWE including HHH, Nash, Stephanie, Punk and Cena. Miz and Truth said they're not waiting around for opportunities any more, they'll just take them. Truth said sooner or later "people are gonna get got!" Truth added "that's the whole truth and nothing but the truth" with Miz adding "And it's Awesome!" There was new R-Truth theme music playing with Truth and Miz yelling "You suck!" at the crowd instead of "What's Up?"
A split screen showed John Cena and CM Punk each on their way out for the main event.
Late in the match, John Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment. However, Punk managed to kick out of the pinfall. Punk hit a series of headbutts and tried for a crossbody splash, but Cena rolled through and picked him up for another AA attempt. Punk countered that for a sunset flip pinfall with Cena escaping at two. Punk hit a huge kick to bring both guys down to the mat. Punk regained his composure and signaled for the Go to Sleep. Before he could complete it, he heard Kevin Nash's voice. Nash came walking out on stage with a mic in hand. He said "this isn't over yet."
Nash started to go to ringside, with Punk running at Cena. Cena grabbed Punk and hit the AA. Kevin Nash left the scene and Cena made a pinfall cover for the win to become new #1 contender for the WWE Championship.
Post-match, Alberto Del Rio rushed into the ring and attacked Cena, laying him out on the mat. John Laurinaitis got into the ring to pull Del Rio off Cena. Del Rio broke away and attacked Cena more, bringing him outside the ring and running him into a guardrail. Laurinaitis continued to try to calm Del Rio down. The show ended with Del Rio looking enraged and Cena beaten down.
Winner: John Cena wins via pinfall over CM Punk to become #1 contender for the WWE Championship.

John Morrison vs. Alberto Del Rio
Morrison faced Del Rio in a non-title matchup. Late in the match, JMo hit his flying chuck kick to knock Del Rio to the mat. Morrison went for Starship Pain off the corner, but Del Rio moved, then rammed JMo into the corner ringpost. Del Rio recomposed himself, then slapped on the Cross armbreaker submission. Morrison had to tap out to the move.Post-match, Del Rio put the armbreaker on again for more damage to Morrison.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio wins due to submission by John Morrison.
Eve Torres vs. Brie Bella
Eve had Kelly Kelly ringside, while Nikki was ringside for her sister Brie.In this match, Nikki had control for a bit before Eve made her big comeback.
