The show opened with GM Teddy Long bringing new champion Randy Orton to the ring. Orton assures the fans there will be no whining from Christian tonight since Christian isn't there. Long says tonight they'll find a new #1 contender by a 20 man Battle Royal. Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase come out to interrupt, with Rhodes promising he'll win the Battle Royal and eventually take away Orton's title. Orton hits the RKO on Dibiase, prompting Rhodes and Orton to stare at one another, before Orton leaves the ring.

Cody asks Teddy Long to do something about Orton, and Long jokes about making Orton stand in the corner and write 100 times "I will not RKO Ted Dibiase." Long books Cody Rhodes in an IC title rematch against Ezekiel Jackson, next.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes
Intercontinental Title Match

Late in the match, after tossing Rhodes over the steel steps, Jackson trips when walking up the stairs, causing him to limp in the ring. Rhodes took advantage by stomping on Zeke's leg after escaping the Torture Rack. Rhodes taunted Zeke with a slap to the back of his head, then hits Beautiful Disaster and Cross Rhodes for the win.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins via pinfall over Ezekiel Jackson to retain the Intercontinental Championship.

Backstage, Teddy Long is with assistant Zack Ryder who says he invited Alberto Del Rio over to Smackdown tonight. Long complains he said to invite the WWE champ if it was CM Punk. Zack says he feels good tonight and will shock the world by winning the battle royal. Zack leaves, but Aksana comes in and asks Teddy to watch the Battle Royal with her tonight. Teddy contemplates it, then says no.

Justin Gabriel vs. Tyson Kidd

Late in the match, Gabriel avoids Kidd charging him in the corner, so Kidd hits face first into the turnbuckle. Gabriel hits a springboard cross body on Kidd, but Kidd almost turns it into a submission. Justin reverses that and hits a victory roll pin for a near fall. Kidd tries to run at Gabriel, with Justin hitting the STO. Gabriel goes onto the top rope, with Kidd climbing up to try to superplex. Gabriel fights him off, causing Kidd to fall to the mat, allowing Justin to hit the 450 Splash for the win.

Winner: Justin Gabriel wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd.

Backstage, Great Khali says some words in his native language, with Mahal translating it as Khali vowing to win the Battle Royal tonight. Mahal says he'll be the one to win the Battle Royal.

Alberto Del Rio showed up on Smackdown. He had a replay of his win over Rey Mysterio on Raw shown. Del Rio says he is a champion willing to face anyone, so he made an open challenge to the back. Smackdown MITB winner Daniel Bryan comes out and tells Del Rio what he did is nothing special.

Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio

Late in the match, Del Rio managed to escape the guillotine choke hold by Bryan. Del Rio puts on the Cross Armbreaker forcing Daniel Bryan to tap out.

Post-match, Del Rio kept attacking Bryan. Eventually, Sin Cara rushes to the ring to make a save, hitting a headscissors on Del Rio followed by a body press from the top rope.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio wins via pinfall over Daniel Bryan.

Kelly Kelly & AJ vs. Alicia Fox & Natalya

Late in this one, Kelly hit a Bulldog and then a Stinkface on Alicia in the corner. After, Kelly managed to get a hurricanrana pinfall on Alicia, but Natalya rushed in to break it up. That brought AJ in, with AJ and Natalya eventually fighting on the outside. With Kelly isolated in the ring, Alicia goes for the scissors kick. Kelly avoids it and hits her K2 leg finisher for the pin.

Post-match, Kelly and AJ head backstage. In the ring, Natalya and AJ have an argument with one another over the loss. Alicia goes to leave the ring, but Natalya attacks her from behind, and sends her to the floor. Natty eventually puts the Sharpshooter on Alicia for a while before break.

Winners: Kelly Kelly & AJ win via pinfall over Alicia Fox & Natalya.

Randy Orton comes out to ringside to watch the main event Battle Royal.

20-Man Battle Royal to Determine #1 Contender

The Battle Royal would determine the new #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Competing in the match were: Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jinder Mahal, The Great Khali, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Tyson Kidd, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, William Regal, Zack Ryder, Mark Henry, Johnny Curtis, Sin Cara, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Yoshi Tatsu, Trent Baretta.

Mark Henry eliminated Trent Barretta & Yoshi Tatsu.

Wade Barrett eliminated Johnny Curtis.

Sin Cara eliminated Zack Ryder.

Ezekiel Jackson eliminated Cody Rhodes.

The Great Khali eliminated Ezekiel Jackson.

Mark Henry eliminated the Great Khali.

Sheamus eliminated Heath Slater.

William Regal eliminated during break.

Sin Cara eliminated Justin Gabriel.

Sheamus eliminated The Usos.

Mark Henry eliminated Jinder Mahal & Ted Dibiase.

Sin Cara eliminated Tyson Kidd

Sheamus eliminated Wade Barrett.

Mark Henry eliminated Sheamus.

In the final moments, Sin Cara had some momentum against the World's Strongest Man. Ultimately though, Sin Cara went for a springboard cross body and Henry caught him. He hit the World's Strongest Slam, then pressed Sin Cara overhead to toss him out of the ring.

Winner: Mark Henry wins the 20-Man Battle Royal to become new #1 contender for World Heavyweight Championship.

The show closed with Mark Henry staring out of the ring at Randy Orton saying he can smell Orton's fear.
