Smackdown Results 04/11/14

Smackdown results from Lafayette, LA:

John Cena came out to start the show off and talked about the busy week for Wrestlemania last week. He brought up all that happened including Rock, Hogan and Stone Cold all getting in the ring at once. He talked about The Undertaker’s streak coming to an end and Daniel Bryan winning the championship. Cena brought up some of the NXT newcomers such as Rusev, Bo Dallas, Paige and Adam Rose, saying the future is now with promising superstars. He said he’s not the one, the viper or the boss, but a “measuring stick” for newcomers to go through.

The Wyatt Family sound effect went off and a Wyatt promo started with Harper saying “time heals all wounds but in their case it gives them more time to hurt Cena with.” Bray came on talking about how he may have lost at Wrestlemania but is still smiling because he saw a glimpse of the monster Cena can be. He said he was close to bringing it all out, but will have to go to extremes to do it. Wyatt finished by singing “He’s got the whole world in his hands” as the promo went off screen.

Cesaro defeated The Big Show via disqualification. Late in the match, Cesaro had a sleeper on Show, but Show fell backward to escape it. Show went for an elbow drop moments later but Cesaro avoided it. He set up for a Cesaro Swing, but Jack Swagger ran in and put the Patriot Lock on Cesaro. Post-match, Show sent Swagger to the outside. Cesaro then attacked Show in the ring, hitting him with a European uppercut from the second rope. He followed with the Neutralizer to lay out Show.

Ryback and Curtis Axel defeated Los Matadores via pinfall. The match lasted over five minutes and saw El Torito get involved on the outside, jumping up on Ryback. Ryback was going to throw Torito into the crowd, but Diego broke things up. The outside distraction helped Axel capitalize and hit his finisher on Fernando for the win.

Rob Van Dam defeated Damien Sandow via pinfall. During the late part of the match, Sandow hit multiple elbow drops on RVD and then put on a rear chin lock. Sandow went for a superplex off the corner moments later, with RVD able to fight him off and push him down to the mat. RVD set up for and hit the Five Star Frog Splash for the win.
Bad News Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston

Hulk Hogan came out to the ring to talk up Wrestlemania and how it became “YestleMania” when Daniel Bryan won the WWE championship last Sunday. He called Bryan down to the ring and got the crowd fired up. Bryan said “Let me tell you something Hulkster!” and talked about it being the greatest week of his life. Bryan noted he’s getting married, main evented Wrestlemania and is back on Smackdown after 5 weeks. He talked about growing up as a Hulkamaniac, and eventually asked Hogan to indulge him for a moment. The segment closed out with Hogan’s music playing on as Bryan and Hulkster did Hulk’s trademark crowd taunts.

Bad News Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston via pinfall. Late in the match, Kofi gained control hitting a clothesline and then a Boom leg drop. Kofi went for Trouble in Paradise, but Barrett avoided it and rolled out of the ring. Later, back in the ring, Barrett avoided Trouble in Paradise again and connected with a Bull Hammer elbow for the win.

Fandango defeated Santino Marella via pinfall. Layla was now Fandango’s ringside valet instead of Summer Rae, who broke up with Fandango on Twitter. Emma was also ringside for Santino. Late in the match, Santino went for a Cobra strike, but Layla stole his sock puppet. That allowed Fandango to roll up Santino for the win.

Daniel Bryan & The Usos vs. Kane, Batista and Randy Orton ended as a no contest. Late into the match, Bryan managed to knock Orton and Batista off the apron, before he started to work on Kane. Bryan kicked Kane in the chest a few times then went to kick him in the head, but Kane ducked it. Bryan managed to knock Kane out of the ring, then hit a suicide dive on him. Moments later, The Usos hit their running dives out onto Batista and Orton. The superstars continued their brawl on the outside with the ref eventually calling the match.

Post-match, Batista and Orton hit an RKO and Batista Bomb on The Usos. Kane went for a chokeslam on Bryan on the announce table, but Seth Rollins appeared to interrupt it. The other Shield members came to chase off Batista and Orton. Shield celebrated in the ring with Kane trying to bring a chair in to hit them with. Daniel Bryan made the save with a running knee to take down Kane, then Shield hit their Triple Powerbomb on him. Bryan and Shield stood tall in the ring as Smackdown closed.
