Mr. Kennedy Released by WWE

Shocking news from World Wrestling Entertainment involving WWE Raw Superstar, Mr. Kennedy. According to WWE.com, Kennedy was released Friday, May 29, 2009. WWE released the following brief statement on its website:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Mr. Kennedy (Ken Kennedy) as of today, May, 29 2009. WWE wishes Ken the best in all future endeavors.

Kennedy had just recently made a surprise return to WWE Raw where he was the 5th mystery tag team partner in a 10 man All-Star tag match. Kennedy was on the "good guy" Lakers side along with John Cena, Batista, Jerry Lawler and MVP, and looked good in the ring. His team won as MVP scored the winning pinfall. Earlier in the night, Kennedy interrupted WWE Champ Randy Orton and threw his name into possible future title contenders.

Kennedy's a former United States Champion and winner of the 2007 Money in the Bank contest at Wrestlemania. Unfortunately he was injury-plagued since then, and never officially got the big push for a major title. It seemed Monday as if that push was right around the corner. Now it comes as quite a shock to see the release of Kennedy, a popular WWE star associated with the 'Mr Kennneeedddyyy... Kennedy' double name announcement who was famous for cutting promos with a mic that dropped down from up above.

As of now, there's no word on why Kennedy was released in less than a week after his surprise return, but speculation running rampant. He was suspended once under WWE's Wellness policy yet claimed he received an outdated prescription from a man he thought was a doctor. He's also been in hot water with WWE for discussing how he felt the Policy was too severe when it came to preventing steroid use. The injury bug may be the ultimate reason for Kennedy's release. He was out for nine months with a dislocated shoulder, and apparently suffered a wrist injury this past Monday on Raw. Expect WWE's main competitor, TNA, to snatch up this highly marketable and entertaining wrestling superstar.

WWE Superstar Hornswoggle

hornswoggle wwe little bastard
The meaning of "Hornswoggle" is to swindle, cheat, hoodwink or hoax.

Hornswoggle's real name is Dylan Mark Postl, born May 29, 1986 in Wisconsin. He stands just 4 foot 10 and weighs in at 127 lbs. In 2005, he made several appearances with NWA Wisconsin where he won its X Division Championship. He also appeared several times in 2005 for AWA Wisconsin's wrestling league. He eventually went on to sign a WWE contract in 2006. His favorite food appears the popular breakfast cereal of Lucky Charms, and he's no stranger to Looney Tunes type antics around the ring and backstage.

After signing with WWE, he made his debut as Hornswoggle on May 26, 2006 during a Finlay match against Paul Burchill. Hornswoggle appeared from under the ring and attacked Burchill, then scurried back under the ring. He continued doing this for many weeks after, many times with Finlay trying to stop him from attacking opponents. Eventually he was named "Little Bastard" at first by commentator, Michael Cole. Finlay eventually corrected him, informing Cole his name was Hornswoggle.

WWE Superstar Hornswoggle became involved in Wrestlemania 23, when he climbed the ladder in the Money in the Bank Match. Mr. Kennedy climbed up the ladder and slammed the Leprechaun off, eventually capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase. This set up a brief feud between Kennedy and Finlay, until Kennedy apologized for hurting Hornswoggle.

On July 22, 2007 at The Great American Bash Hornswoggle won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship after he competed in the Cruiserweight Open; the other participants and the referee were unaware that he was even wrestling in the match. Hornswaggle entered by scurrying across the ring before the match even began. He is listed within the acceptable weight range to compete for the title. Winning this title made him the first person with dwarfism to win a Championship in WWE history.

Notes: Hornswoggle was forced to give up his Cruiserweight title sadly on a 2007 episode of Smackdown. Acting GM Vickie Guerrero informed him it was too dangerous for him to continue as champ. This came not long after it was announced he was the bastard child of Chairman Vince McMahon.

Hornswoggle has since been involved in the famous "Bastard Child of Vince McMahon" story. Hornswoggle has caused all sorts of mayhem and was involved in "Tough Love" matches. Vince McMahon even put him in a mini Royal rumble battle royal type match on Raw, featuring mini versions of wwe kane, batista and mankind. It was later revealed Hornswoggle was the son of WWE Superstar Finlay.

WrestleMania 23 Press Conference

Notes from the WrestleMania 23 Press Conference, March 28, 2007, at 12 PM EST, held Live from Trump Tower in New York City: (via WWE.com live feed)

Coach kicked off the press conference to crowd chants of "You Suck" as he announced that the biggest Wrestlemania event ever kicks off in just 4 days. Coach announced there will be an exclusive premiere at the Fox theater in Detroit this Friday of the new Stone Cold film "The Condemned". Coach said Saturday would have the 2007 Hall of Fame class induction ceremony, and then Sunday would have the biggest Wrestlemania ever, taking place in Detroit.

1st guest, John Cena - the WWE champ came out to a mixed crowd reaction, holding his spinner title belt proudly on his shoulder. Cena noted that the packed rafters full of fans today at Trump Tower are what makes WWE and Wrestlemania great. Cena said he won't make any Sunday predictions, but he will be at his best on Sunday. Cena said to the fans they are on the verge of something great and historic, Wrestlemania 23. Cena said he remembers watching Wrestlemania 3 as a kid at his father's home, where Hulk Hogan slammed Andrew the Giant. Cena said he is proud to be a part of this event and making history this Sunday.

2nd guest, Shawn Michaels -
HBK came out to a great crowd reaction and chants of HBK, donning a business suit and black shades. HBK said not John Cena, Donald Trump or Vince McMahon will come out today in a nicer suit. HBK said he is indeed "the Showstopper". HBK said he and Cena won't make a music cd because he can't sing, or a movie because he can't act. HBK said he has performed his butt off at every single Wrestlemania, more than any other wrestler. HBK said in just a couple days he is going to make John Cena famous.

3rd guest, Melina - Melina came to the podium and held her Women's title high above her head for all to see. Melina said Wrestlemania is the day where every superstar gives their all, but she doesn't think Ashley has the strength or determination to win her title. Melina said all the fans will be a part of her 1st Wrestlemania, where she will enter and leave as the Women's champion.

4th guest, Ashley - Ashley came out to cheering fans and said shes thrilled to even share the stage with all these superstars and be a part of Sunday's Wrestlemania 23. Ashley said Melina wants to underestimate her, but that Ashley will bring every bit of blood, sweat and tears to give Melina the fight of her life this Sunday.

5th guest, Batista - Batista stepped to the podium and took off his suit jacket to reveal a tank top, throwing his suit coat to the ground. After raising his title high, the fans chanted "We Want Taker", and Batista then spoke from the podium. Batista said he would make this short and sweet because honestly he has his "game face on and doesn't feel like talking". Batista said there are just 4 days til Wrestlemania 23 when he puts his title on the line against the Deadman. Batista mentioned Taker's 14-0 Wrestlemania winstreak, and said Sunday won't get here fast enough. Batista said he would sit there now and think of ways to dismantle the Undertaker at Sunday's Wrestlemania.

Coach introduced the crowd to Rachel Smith, the new Miss USA, who came out to a warm crowd reception. Rachel took a seat in the front row.

6th guest, Mr. Vince McMahon, Chairman of WWE - Vince told the yelling fans to "Shutup!" before speaking. Vince said this is the Superbowl, World Series, & Oscars of the Wrestling world. Vince said Wrestlemania is the most different type of event they will see, as fans chanted "What?" to each comment Vince made. Vince said fans will see all sorts of things this Sunday. Vince said he wondered if this Trump Tower building was for sale. A fan yelled "you can't afford it" and Vince retorted "the hell I can't son". Vince said he can't stand people like Donald Trump, who's rich and always surrounded by beautiful women. Vince said the world wants to see Trump bald. Vince then showed the fans a barber chair on stage. Vince sat in the chair to show fans the surprised look Trump will have on his face. Vince said Trump will then beg him not to shave his head. Vince took a set of electric clippers and let the sound of them go over the mic. Vince said he will embarass Trump like he's never been embarassed before. Vince then introduced Umaga, his wrestler representative for the match.

Umaga came out with his Intercontinental title and stared fiercely at the crowd. Umaga stared down Miss USA in the front row and Vince said he was staring at her like a "ham sandwich". Vince thanked Umaga and told him catering is off to the right.

7th guest, Donald Trump, president and chairman of Trump Organization - Trump came out and waved to fans before taking the podium. Trump looked around at the fans and then asked "good looking building isn't it?". Trump said this morning a major TV station asked this AM "Are you and Vince McMahon friends?" Trump said they used to be, but now Trump doesn't like him one bit because he treats people and the fans like crap. Trump said he's taller, better looking, richer and stronger than Vince. Trump said he has someone who is really, really strong to wrestle Vince's wrestler, Umaga. Trump said after researching it and speaking to other wrestlers, Trump chose ECW champion, Bobby Lashley.

8th guest, Bobby Lashley came out and held his ECW title up, then shook hands with Donald Trump. Lashley took the podium to speak as fans chanted "E C Dub". Lashley said he keeps using the letters, ILMD - I'm Living My Dream. Lashley thanked Trump for picking him and he won't let him down. Lashley turned to tell Vince for the past month and a half he has made his life a living hell. Lashley guaranteed that Vince will leave the arena this Sunday at Wrestlemaia 23 bald.

9th guest, Stone Cold Steve Austin - The Texas Rattlesnake came out and pointed to the fans up in the rafters, then took a look at the clippers sitting on the barber's chair. Austin picked up the clippers and looked over at Vince McMahon, then checked his own bald head out in the handheld mirror. Austin said he was pissed off to hear VInce underselling Wrestlemania 23, because its bigger than the World Series, Tour De France and even the Olympics. Austin said as special referee, its his rules in the ring, looking over at Lashley. Austin said this match has big egos but he will call it right down the middle and there will be a winner, loser and bald billionaire after. Austin asked Vince and Trump to come to the podium for one last photo op before one of them is bald. Austin posed with Trump and Vince for several pics.

Vince then taunted Trump by touching his suit and playing with his tie, and Trump responded by slapping Vince in the face. Vince charged at Trump but security held him back and Vince fell to the floor. Vince got back up angrily, and Stone Cold held him back. Just then, Bobby Lashley stood up and grabbed Vince and slammed him against a table. Vince got back up holding his head and charged offstage as the press conferenced ended.

Wrestlemania: The Matches & Predictions

Wrestlemania is now under 1 week away! The major notion is that most titles do change hands at the "Superbowl of Wrestlemanias". Here are my predictions for the majority of matches, excluding the ECW tag match. I would be picking that match blindly at this point.

MVP vs. Chris Benoit (US Championship) -
It just might be time for MVP to finally claim a title in the WWE and back up all that talk he's done since entering the Smackdown roster.

Prediction: Benoit retains the title with his fierce in-ring style. MVP has yet to prove he has much more than cheap tactics, but hasn't shown much in terms of his wrestling abilities yet

Ashley vs. Melina - Smackdown hasn't seen the Women's title yet, but I don't expect this one to change hands just yet. This match is more to promote Ashley's Playboy Cover, but Melina is one tough cookie. With DIVAS surrounding the ring, its tough to imagine that it will be an unfair fight, but that also gives more reason to believe someone will interfere in the outcome.

Prediction: Melina keeps the title somehow, possibly there is interference by one of the other Playboy cover girls outside the ring, either Candice or Torrie Wilson.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match - You'd have to think this is Randy Orton's time to shine. This is by far the toughest of the matches to predict, as it has 8 contenders and it could go any way. Orton seems to want this one badly though, to prove to Edge he's not as good as he thinks. According to the poll running on the WWE Characters site now, Jeff Hardy is the favorite but is very closely followed by Randy Orton. Keep in mind also Edge is undefeated in Wrestlemanias and a Ladder Match veteran.

Prediction: Edge and Orton seem like the most likely WWE title contenders here, with King Booker a 3rd. Orton beats out Edge in a close one. I hate to make a second choice, but it would be hard to overlook CM Punk as well.

Battle of the Billionaires - Umaga vs. Bobby Lashley - Give the edge to Lashley here, the extreme champ. He's overcome many odds and beaten some great competitors. While the Samoan bulldozer is no slouch either, he has been defeated twice by John Cena, and Lashley is another tough champ.

Prediction: Lashley out muscles the Samoan and Mr. McMahon gets stunned by Stone Cold, then strapped into the chair and shaved bald.

HBK vs John Cena (WWE Championship) - The big titles almost always change hands at Wrestlemania. It would be surprising if this one doesn't go to HBK. He's due a win and it will set up an interesting scenario; HBK and Cena will still hold the tag belts, but the heavyweight title will change hands. Also, keep in mind, HHH is set to return to the WWE in several months.

Prediction: HBK wins the WWE championship and sets up a potential feud with HHH when he returns in several months.

Undertaker vs Batista (World Heavyweight Championship) - This one seems like a no-brainer. Undertaker is undefeated in Wrestlemania and it would be hard to believe that streak will end here. While Batista is a great champ and overall powerhouse competitor, the Undertaker is the ring veteran here.

Prediction: Undertaker takes the title once again, going down as 15-0 in Wrestlemania history.

Kane vs The Great Khali -
This one should be a vicious battle. It's tough to see Khali losing, because he has such a size advantage, despite Kane's maniacal style.

Prediction: These 2 giants wont see the end of each other here..maybe a disqualification or countout, possibly a draw.

The title matches this year are some of the best in recent history on paper. If HHH was still around, I think HHH vs Cena would be even more of a classic than HBK vs Cena, but fans are still backing the DX star all the way. Seeing the undefeated Undertaker go for Batista's gold is also going to be something to see!

If I had to choose one match I would pay to see of them all, it is by far the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. These matches offer a ton of excitement and action and with those 8 competitors I think fans are in for a real treat. The Hardy's are high fliers, as is Edge who is undefeated at Wrestlemania. Then we get to see guys like Randy Orton, CM Punk and Mr Kennedy who have yet to be involved in this style of match.

In addition, fans may be treated to a shaved Vince McMahon and at least two new WWE title holders...

Battle of the Billionaires..

Last night on Monday Night RAW, in dramatic fashion, it was announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin would be special guest referee for Wrestlemania 23's "Battle of the Billionaires". Not so much announced in words, but in dramatic fashion as Stone Cold burst out from backstage onto the ramp, and stormed down into the ring. He then proceeded to drink several beers, bashing them high above his head in a toast to the crowd and fans. In the process Vince and Shane were both sprayed with beer, Vince especially so, leaving McMahon looking disgusted. Once again, Vince's worst nightmare has become true, with his arch-enemy Austin back to see to it that McMahon is humiliated.

In the Battle of the Billionaires, Vince's wrestler, Umaga, will battle Donald Trump's representative, Lashley. If Trump's man wins, Vince will be shaved bald, and vice versa. Trump appeared last week on the popular "Imus" radio show and TV show on MSNBC. During the interview, Imus spoke about how because wrestling is "staged" that it's hard to believe Trump will lose this one, because Trump wouldn't go bald. Trump explained how the whole match came about, when Vince contacted Trump and offered to donate a very large amount of money to charity. Trump agreed to it and they also arranged the contest for Wrestlemania. Trump spoke about how Vince is a very generous and smart businessman as well.

The Battle of the Billionaires will take place on April 1, 2007 at Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit, Michigan. Trump is set to appear on next week's Monday Night RAW in Washington, DC for the contract signing for this huge matchup.

Undertaker's Wrestlemania Legacy

The Undertaker is the sole owner of some major Wrestlemania history. Standing tall at 14-0, the Deadman is unmatched in terms of his undefeated record at the "Super Bowl" of Wrestling. So just who has the Undertaker defeated in his 14 wins? Here's a look at the list:

The Undertaker's 14 Wrestlemania Victories:

1) Wrestlemania 7 (LA Sports Arena; Los Angeles, CA 3/24/91) -
The Undertaker's debut, he pinned Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

2)WrestleMania 8 (Hoosier Dome; Indianapolis, IN 4/5/92) -
Undertaker defeated Jake the Snake Roberts

3)WrestleMania 9 (Caesar’s Palace; Las Vegas, NV 4/4/93) -
Undertaker defeated Giant Gonzalez (by DQ)

4)WrestleMania 11 (Hartford Civic Center; Hartford, CT 4/2/95) -
Undertaker beat King Kong Bundy

5)WrestleMania 12 (Arrowhead Pond; Anaheim, CA 3/31/96) -
The Undertaker pinned Diesel

6)WrestleMania 13
(Rosemont Horizon; Chicago, IL 3/23/97)
WWF Title: Undertaker beat Sid to become WWF Champion

7)WrestleMania 14 (Fleet Center; Boston, MA 3/29/98)
Undertaker beat Kane

8)WrestleMania 15 (First Union Center; Philadelphia, PA 3/28/99)
Hell in a Cell: Undertaker beat The Big Bossman

9)WrestleMania 17
(Astrodome; Houston, TX 4/1/01)
Undertaker beat Triple H

10)WrestleMania 18
– Skydome; Toronto, Ontario 3/17/02
Undertaker beat Ric Flair

11)WrestleMania 19 (Safeco Field; Seattle, WA 3/30/03)
Undertaker beat The Big Show & A-Train

12)WrestleMania 20 (Madison Square Garden, New York, NY 3/14/04)
Undertaker beat Kane

13)WrestleMania 21 (Staples Center; Los Angeles, CA 4/3/05)
Undertaker beat Randy Orton

14)WrestleMania 22 (Allstate Arena; Chicago, IL 4/2/06)
Casket Match: The Undertaker beat Mark Henry

An impressive resume of victories with a who's who of Hall of Famers and current WWE stars. Especially impressive is that Taker has defeated his own brother, the monster Kane in 2 different Wrestlemanias. In addition the Undertaker has overcome odds to win a casket match, hell in the cell and a 2 on 1 handicap match vs. Big A-Train and Big Show. Will Taker make it 15-0 against one of his toughest opponents yet, Batista??

Undertaker vs Batista: The Match

Undertaker, the Deadman, and Last Man Standing after the ring was cleared of 30 competitors. He received the right to choose any champion from 3 to face at Wrestlemania. Logic and instinct took him into Batista's path, after their paths had crossed many times..After losing a shot to go up against Batista at Royal Rumble, thanks to Batista's interference, Undertaker got his necessary revenge on the current champ at No Way Out, leaving Batista solo vs Michaels and Cena. Batista, handicapped against 2 powerhouses, lost the tag match.

Batista will look to defend his honor and his WWE gold vs the Deadman at Wrestlemania 23. Batista faces tough odds. Taker is 14-0 at Wrestlemania and its hard to believe that his legacy will end. The Undertaker is legend, and watch for that legend will continue. Prediction for Wrestlemania is that Taker successfully defeats Batista earning the WWE title once again. Batista is no easy win, so don't expect a quick victory for Taker. This will be a battle of 2 imposing forces from the WWE and is sure to cause one exciting contest. Both men will give it all they have and put it all on the line until one man is left standing, and that will be The Undertaker.

Stay tuned for Wrestlemania melee as we countdown to April 1, 2007!

HBK vs. Cena: the Match

April 1, 2007, at Wrestlemania 23, two of WWE's most powerful forces meet, in Shawn Michaels the Heartbreak Kid vs current WWE Champion John Cena. This should provide for 1 entertaining match featuring two differing styles and 2 overall great wrestling talents..

Michaels has been an icon, a showstopper and a legend for years now, holding the WWE title several times during his storied career. He has also most recently been a part of the newly formed "D-Generation X" with partner in crime, Triple H. Representing DX, Michaels was one of the final two competitors in the Royal Rumble, until he met up with another legend, the Undertaker!

Despite placing 2nd at the Rumble, Michaels put his name in the hat for a Wrestlemania title shot, and won a triple threat match on RAW against Rated RKO to earn the title shot. This will be an epic match at Wrestlemania! Cena has held the title several times now in the past several years, after losing it to Edge, RVD and regaining it. Cena is a perennial fan favorite and displays an intense power and energy in the ring that is hard to combat. Cena looks to defend his title as he has done against the likes of Umaga and Edge now for many months..However he has yet to battle a true legend such as his current tag team title partner, Shawn Michaels..

My pick for this match as of now is Shawn Michaels. We have seen the trend in WWE history, where both the big titles change hands at Wrestlemania. That would make it seem perfect for HBK to reclaim this glory, just a few months before he sees the return of his Champion partner, Triple H. It's hard to believe that Triple H is not at Wrestlemania, but had he been around, I believe we would see DX as tag champs right now. Instead, Michaels will capture the title, and cause a bit of a rift with his partner and friend, HHH once he returns back..

The countdown is on to April 1, 2007!

Wrestlemania Thoughts & Rumours..

With Wrestlemania coming at us full speed, here's some thoughts and possibilities for the upcoming huge event..

- The main even title matches. The trend seems to be for both titles to change hands at Wrestlemania. We saw it happen in previous Wrestlemanias, so smart money might be on Shawn Michaels and Undertaker to both win. It makes sense, Taker is undefeated in Wrestlemania and possibly reaching his career's end. Now WWE did "screw" Bret Hart in his final title match, but Taker is 14-0. Last thing WWE wants to do is ruin that legacy. In addition, Shawn Michaels is one half of DX. Doesn't it make sense he scores the heavyweight title and then HHH returns to see this? A feud between DX when HHH returns if HBK has the belt?

- In a follow up to the whole Michaels and Cena thing, these guys currently hold the tag team titles. Makes sense that they wont be involved in two matches at Wrestlemania, so they most likely lose the tag belts right before Wrestlemania. Question is, to who? RKO's seems to be co-existing, but theres also Cryme Time and possibly the Hardyz waiting in the wings..

- Some rumours kicking around are that Mick Foley may return for a Wrestlemania match as Catcus Jack to face Umaga. This might even be the Trump vs McMahon match. But who wouldn't like to see The Rock, Stone Cold and Hulk Hogan part of this huge event? There's been rumours that Chris Jericho will return as well. And of course, we hear from Rey Mysterio on Smackdown next Friday..Could make for a very good bunch of returning wrestlers for Wrestlemania..

- For the whole Trump vs McMahon challenge, it makes more sense that since we see Vince on a weekly basis, he'll be getting his head shaved. Great publicity for both "billionaires" either way..

- With this Sunday's No Way Out, the main event is one of the toughest to predict, so kudos to WWE on setting this match up. It also seems best to guess this match ends up a draw when both tag teams end up feuding internally with each other. Both teams looked strong this past week, but if its a draw, I can see Michaels and Cena blaming each other, and Taker and Batista blaming each other, setting the stage for their big title matches..
