Smackdown Preview 07.04.08
Just a week ago Smackdown's roster had two major champions with Triple H and Edge. As of this past Monday night, everything changed, as Edge was defeated for the World Heavyweight title by CM Punk on Raw. Triple H will now be a guest on MVP's in-ring talk show the VIP Lounge. What will The Game have to say regarding his championship and Edge's loss? Will a superstar challenge Triple H in anticipation of the Great American Bash?
Coming off his recent loss of the World Heavyweight title, the Rated-R Superstar, Edge is sure to be at least slightly angry. Edge also has an upcoming wedding in about a week to his current love interest and Smackdown GM, Vickie Guerrero. Will the focus shift to the lovestruck couple's wedding, or will Edge's focus be on regaining a title?
One title which will be on the line on the special July 4th episode of Smackdown is the United States Championship. Brand new ECW member Matt Hardy will put his title up for grabs in a Fatal Fourway. Hardy's other opponents will be Shelton Benjamin, Mr. Kennedy and Chavo Guerrero. Will Hardy be able to successfully defend his title or will Smackdown see a new United States Champion crowned?
There's also the divas championship still to be decided between Natalya and an opponent to be determined. Will Vickie Guerrero make a decision on tonight's show over Natalya's opponent? When will the divas championship match go down?
