Smackdown Preview 10.03.08
Tonight will mark the season premiere and debut of Smackdown on MyNetworkTV! To get Smackdown's new season going and the season started off with a bang, the show will feature a series of Champions matches. In the main event it will be a Triple Threat Champions match as WWE champ Triple H faces ECW champ Matt Hardy and World Heavyweight champ, Chris Jericho. All three men have tough matches coming up at No Mercy, and this Triple Threat may take a lot out of them. Which champ will reign supreme over the others in this match? Will there be any outside interference during the contest?
The Intercontinental champ will also battle the United States champ on Smackdown. Santino Marella has been continually running his mouth about taking down the all time streak of former IC champ Honky Tonk Man. Santino has over 50 weeks left to accomplish the feat. Tonight he'll be in a non-title match against the Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin. Shelton has had his hands full on Smackdown with R-Truth lately. Which of these champions will be able to outdo the other in tonight's match? Will it be Santino or Shelton who has bragging rights after this match?
Two members of Smackdown who will face off at No Mercy are Big Show and Undertaker. The feud came about as Undertaker tried to take Vickie Guerrero's soul at Unforgiven weeks ago. Big Show was already in the ring, but instead of holding Vickie for Undertaker, he punched Taker down. Show repeatedly beat up the Deadman, then allowed Vickie Guerrero to further humiliate him. Now, Show has aligned himself with the Smackdown GM, who claims Undertaker will soon apologize or be sorry. Meanwhile, Undertaker has made his presence felt on Smackdown by attacking Chavo Guerrero one week, and then delivering a Tombstone Piledriver to Vickie Guerrero in the ring last week. What will Vickie's condition be as Smackdown premieres? Will she be back at the helm, or missing in action? How will Undertaker and Big Show prepare for their big match at No Mercy?
It's going to a be a big open house of the WWE Divas and Superstars this Friday! Tune in to Smackdown on its brand new home channel, MyNetworkTV at 8PM EST this Friday night!
