Raw Preview 10.05.09

As Raw opens tonight, Randy Orton will begin yet another reign as the WWE Champion. At last night's, Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View (See WWE Hell in a Cell results here)
, Orton was able to find a way to defeat Cena inside the solid steel structure known as Hell in a Cell. Cena had several near wins, including Orton tapping out to the STF. However, with the referee knocked out of the ring prior to the submission, he was unable to give Cena the win. Orton was able to diabolically dismantle Cena inside the Cell, and eventually hit the running punt kick on Cena. After a 3 count, Orton was proclaimed WWE Champ once again. In what was billed as his last chance at the title, Orton made good on the promise to win the battle. Although no blood was drawn, both men surely had their limits tested. Cena will get his rematch at some point, but when will that occur? What will Orton and Cena have to say after their grueling match?

In other Hell in a Cell action, Mickie James retained the Divas title, while the United States Championship. In the closing match of the night, it was D-Generation X battling Legacy inside the Hell in a Cell cage. Legacy tried for the numbers game early on as they knocked out HHH on the ramp and then locked the cage shut with them and Michaels inside. However, their plan backfired when the game was able to bust open the door to save Michaels after he took a beating. Eventually, Ted Dibiase was removed from the equation, and the Hell in a Cell, allowing DX to score a major beatdown on Rhodes involving the Sweet Chin Music and a sledgehammer. Rhodes was on the receiving end of the damage and the pin. Dibiase also got his just desserts as he was greeted by Sweet Chin Music in the ring to close the PPV. Now with Legacy KO'd by DX, what will be next for each of these Raw tag teams?

Raw's special guest host tonight will be 2-time Superbowl Champion, Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben has promised to bring his entire offensive line with him to the show in Wilkes Barre, PA. This will be the second athletic to host the show, with Shaquille O'Neal being the first sports star to take the role. Will Big Ben be able to follow in the successful footsteps of Shaq as guest host? What will the NFL quarterback have in store for the Raw roster?

Catch all of the action of Monday Night Raw tonight at 9PM EST on USA!
