Smackdown Preview 10.02.09
With Hell in a Cell PPV just two days way, tonight's Smackdown will feature several superstars looking to gain the advantage heading into the Pay-Per-View. Perhaps even more importantly, tonight's show will celebrate a decade of Smackdown, commemorating ten years of great WWE sports entertainment for the show. To celebrate, the superstars and divas of Raw, ECW and Smackdown will all participate in the show. In the main event, there will be a huge 8-man tag team contest, featuring John Cena, D-Generation X and The Undertaker as they battle Randy Orton, Legacy, and CM Punk. All eight of these superstars are involved in individual battles all of which are Hell in a Cell matches this Sunday. Which team or superstars will be standing tall at the end of the show?
Another set of superstars who will be facing off at Hell in a Cell are Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison. Morrison is the current Intercontinental champion, with Ziggler still trying to win the gold for his first reign. Recently, the two appeared on the Abraham Washington show on ECW. Morrison was the invited guest, while Ziggler showed up uninvited. The two ended up in a staredown confrontation after Morrison once again called his opponent "Mr. Ziggles". Luckily, Tony Atlas and Abe Washington were able to prevent any trouble on the set, but Ziggler was clearly not happy being unable to speak on the show. He also faces current issues with his girlfriend Maria and the scandalous photos she saw involving him and Michelle McCool. Will Ziggler be able to shake all this off and be focused enough heading into Hell in a Cell to win the title?
And finally, the Unified Tag Team champions Big Show and Chris Jericho were involved in two matches this past Monday on Raw. The duo was forced to defend their titles in the opening bout against former foes MVP & Mark Henry. Thanks to Big Show's usual assistance from outside the ring, Jericho managed to score the victory pinfall. With the titles preserved, the two went on later that night to be part of the 3-on-1 Gauntlet match against John Cena. Jericho locked in a Walls of Jericho and refused to break it, trying to break Cena apart. With Cena winning by DQ, Big Show entered the ring for the next match. The match ended in another DQ with Jericho getting involved. The champs are clearly on top of their game, but at Hell in a Cell they will be defending the titles against two well known champions: Batista and Rey Mysterio. Although Mysterio has been out for about a month, and Batista is just back from injury they look to score the titles at Hell in a Cell. Will they be able to effectively fight the "well oiled machine" that is Jeri-Show?
