Raw Results 04/01/13

Raw Results from Washington, DC:

John Cena started off the show and was getting booed quite often as he made his speech about WM29 and The Rock.  He said this time around it's bigger than before because the WWE title is up for grabs.  He talked about how the WWE Universe may see a moment happen this year they never thought was possible.  Cena said he won't replace this new championship belt with his own design, because he wants to hold it as a symbol, that he's better than Rock.  He finishes with "The Champ, is Here!" before dropping the mic and drawing more boos.

Randy Orton, Big Show & Sheamus defeated Team 3MB via pinfall.  Sheamus hit an Irish Curse backbreaker before tagging in Big Show.  Show ran over Jinder and all of the competitors got involved before the faces picked up the win.  Post-match, The Shield comes into the crowd.  Ambrose gives them congratulations on the match, then tells them they'll be on their backs at WrestleMania.  Rollins and R oman each speak with Reigns saying the whole world will believe in Shield after WM29.

They had a promo from Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter recorded earlier in Washington, DC.  Swagger talked about how he'll win the title from Del Rio, then introduces the fans to his new America.

Striker interviewed Del Rio backstage with Del Rio talking about Colter and Swagger.  Del Rio will face Colter later on.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Daniel Bryan via pinfall.  Late in the match, Ziggler and Bryan traded near falls.  They collided in the air with cross body attempts.  AJ started to skip around Kane, and then Big E ran over Kane to knock him down.  Bryan saw it all and then hit Big E through the ropes.  The distraction allowed Bryan to roll up Bryan for the win.  Post-match, Big E got in the ring to knock down Bryan, then hit his finisher on him.  Ziggler started to taunt Bryan with Kane coming in to try to intervene.  He beat up on Ziggler and Big E, and went to chokeslam Big E.  E broke the grip and then hit his finisher on Kane.  Big E and Ziggler then posed with the tag team titles while AJ stood between them.

Shawn Michaels came out to the ring to speak about Triple H vs. Brock at WM29.  He talked about having his arm broken by Lesnar before and mentioned that he got real concerned when he heard the stipulation for the match, with HHH's career on the line.  Michaels said he has serious doubts and concerns.  That brought HHH's music and The Game comes to the ring.

HHH told HBK he knows what he's doing and thought they talked about this before.  He told HBK it's the same situation he was in.  HBK says the situations couldn't be more different.  HBK told Hunter that Lesnar respects no one, and only does this for money and to hurt others.  Triple H tells Shawn he won't be able to talk him out of this.  HBK says that's not why he came out, but because he will be in Triple H's corner at Mania.  Brock Lesnar's music hit and he came out with Paul Heyman.

Heyman spoke saying Lesnar will beat HHH into retirement this Sunday.  Heyman brought up all the people HHH will disappoint when he loses, but mentions he's probably used to disappointing his wife anyway.  Heyman asked Shawn if he really wants to be that close to Lesnar this Sunday.  HBK took off his shirt, ready to fight.  Heyman tells HHH he should have just walked away, because he'll have to crawl away with his tail between his legs after Sunday.  Heyman keeps on insulting The Game and talking up Lesnar, before saying HHH is committing professional suicide.  The two head backstage as Lesnar's music plays and HBK/HHH stare at them.

Wade Barrett defeated Zack Ryder via pinfall in a non-title match.  The Miz was on commentary.  Before the match they announced Miz will face Barrett for the IC title during the WM29 pre-show.  In the match, Ryder hit the Broski Boot late for a near fall, but Barrett came back after and hit his Bullhammer Elbow for the win.

Santino Marella payed a visit backstage to Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero.  Santino tells them he just saw Vince McMahon go storming out of the arena to his limo complaining he was upset about Vickie and Brad.  Santino walks off, then after a few moments returns to tell them it was an April Fool's joke.  Vickie isn't amused and told Santino to go to the ring because he's got a match next.

Mark Henry defeated Santino Marella via pinfall.  Santino joked around early on and kicked Henry in the leg, then kicked Henry in the head.  Henry got upset by it and grabbed Santino.  Santino threatened to use the Cobra.  Santino goes for it, but Henry runs him over, then hits World's Strongest Slam for the win.

Henry got on the mic telling Ryback he has no right to threaten him, then reminded Ryback of their no-contact clause before Mania.  Henry said only thing that will happen tonight is him smiling.  Henry tried to leave the ring, but Ryback grabbed Santino and used his body to knock Henry to the outside.  He then pressed Santino overhead and tossed him out onto Henry outside the ring.  The crowd started up a "Feed Me More" chant.

Matt Striker talked to CM Punk backstage.  Punk said he will do something nobody else has done before at WrestleMania.  He said he'll do whatever he has to in order to end The Streak.  Punk promises that every time anyone thinks about WrestleMania, they will think about Punk.  He has the urn and gives it a kiss to finish the promo interview.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Zeb Colter due to disqualification.  During the match, Del Rio kept taunting Colter and swiping at him as Colter stayed towards the ropes and the corner to avoid him.  Swagger began stalking Ricardo outside the ring and RR held up his crutch to wave at Swagger as a weapon.  Zeb reached out and grabbed the crutch then taunted Del Rio to come at him.  Just then, Swagger took down Ricardo on the outer floor.  ADR kicked Swagger down through the ropes, but as he went back in the ring, Zeb hit him with the crutch.  The ref called for the bell for a DQ on Colter.

Post-match, Del Rio managed to grab the crutch away but Swagger was in the ring and took down Del Rio from behind.  From there, Swagger and Colter kept bashing Del Rio with crutches until refs got them to leave.  Del Rio pulled himself up with the ropes and stared at them as they went up the ramp.

The Rock's music hit and he came out onto the stage with the WWE championship belt.  As he made his way to the ring, Cole plugged "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" movie as #1 in the entire world.  Cole told fans to use hashtag #ROCKvsCENA on Tout.com to talk about the upcoming match, and they'll use the touts on tonight's Raw.

Rock waited out crowd cheers and chants before speaking.  Rock talked about their monumental upcoming match, and eventually going to the White House, from President Barack to President The Rock.  He asked the people if he can count on their votes.  They roared with a "Yes" response.  Rock did his "Finally...The Rock has come back to Washington - D.C."

Rock said the match on Sunday won't be about redemption or Cena getting the torch.  Rock said only way Cena is getting the torch is if he lights the belt on fire and sticks it straight up Cena's candy ass.  He said on Sunday Cena can not deny the will of the people and he can not beat The Rock.  Rock finished up with his classic "If you smell, what The Rock...is cookin" before posing on the corner of the ring.

Chris Jericho defeated Antonio Cesaro via submission in a non-title match.  During the match, Cesaro gained control and went up on the corner ropes.  Jericho shook the side ropes and Cesaro fell to the seated position on the ropes.  Jericho climbed up and hit a hurricanrana to throw Cesaro to the mat.  Just then, Fandango's music hit and his dancer arrived out on stage.  Several moments later, Fandango arrived out and the two danced to his music with Jericho looking on before Raw went to break.  After break, they showed Jericho hitting an impressive kick move to send Cesaro to the outer floor and Fandango held up a "2" score card from the stage.

Towards the finish, Fandango and his dancer moved closer to the ring.  Fandango held up a score card and turned his back to the ring, so Jericho ran over and dropkicked him through the ropes. Moments later, Jericho finally got the Walls of Jericho locked in and Cesaro tapped out.

Post-match, Fandango rushed to the ring and got in to attack Jericho.  He beat him down, then went to the top rope for a huge leg drop on Jericho.  Two refs tried to get Fandango to get out, and he looked to be leaving, but then climbed to the top for another leg drop, this time on the back of Jericho's head.  From there, Fandango got right in Jericho's face then went and grabbed a mic to pronounce his name to everyone.

When Raw returned, Cole brought up how Trish Stratus tweeted on Twitter asking Stephanie McMahon will do the honors of inducting her into the Hall of Fame on Saturday.  Cole said moments later Stephanie tweeted back that it would be her honor to induct one of the greatest divas of all time.

They showed four different tout videos from fans saying who they think will win The Rock vs. Cena match at WM29.

The Bella Twins defeated Cameron & Naomi via pinfall.  During the match, chaos broke out at ringside with Clay, Tensai and Rhodes Scholars all getting into a brawl heading up the ramp.  In the ring, Cameron ran the ropes, then hit a crossbody on Nikki, but Nikki reversed the pin to steal the victory.

The Undertaker's music hit and he made his entrance to the ring.  Once in the ring, Taker got on the mic to talk about how long Punk's reign lasted as champion, but then said the pain he's going to feel will last an eternity.  He said since Punk made it personal, he will suffer.  Taker said defeating him at WrestleMania is not good enough, because the disrespect he showed Paul Bearer will cause him to pay the ultimate price.  Taker said the streak may come to an end on Sunday, but Punk will never live to talk about it.

Just then, ominous music hit and two druids came out from backstage carrying torches.  Six more druids came out and then lined up on the sides of the ramp as the music kept playing.  Cole talked about how strange the event was in our nation's capital.  All of a sudden, an eery voice mocking Paul Bearer said "Ohhhh yesss" and someone came to the stage dressed as Bearer holding the urn up.  Taker took off his robe and started up the ramp towards the fake Bearer.  Suddenly, he stopped as he realized he was surrounded by druids.  Taker grabbed several of them and threw them off the ramp, before one launched himself at Taker, revealing himself as Punk.

From there, Punk kept beating up Taker and took the urn from the fake Paul Bearer.  He smashed it into Taker's gut, then kept beating him down with it, taunting Taker to get back up.  With Taker on his back on the ramp, Punk opened up the urn, and then poured some ashes into his hand before throwing it in Taker's face.  Punk then dumped all of the ashes out onto Taker, before rubbing some over himself to further desecrate the urn and memory of Paul Bearer.  Raw ended with Taker down, covered in ashes and Punk rubbing ashes on himself.
