Smackdown Preview 07.11.08

After last week, Smackdown appears to be in turmoil for its once ruling couple. After a series of arguments, Edge informed his fiancee and Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero that their July 11th wedding was officially off. Now not only is the wedding off, but the major power behind Smackdown's chaos is off. Edge now claims he will make a run at Triple H's WWE title on his own. What will go down on tonight's show with the couple at odds? Will there be any chance for reconciliation? Was the arguing for real, or really a ploy by the powerful duo?

There's also a new title to be decided with the WWE Divas Championship. Weeks ago, diva Natayla won a Golden Dreams match to become one contender for the match. Natalya awaited her opponent for several more weeks, and then saw Michelle McCool win the next Golden Dream match last week. Now Smackdown's top-voted diva Michelle will do battle with Natalya for the newest belt. Which diva will reign supreme, the All-American McCool, or the latest Neidhart, Natalya?

Two superstars who recently were moved via the WWE draft are Matt Hardy and Umaga. Umaga had a successful debut last week on his new show, Smackdown. The Samoan Bulldozer looks hungrier than ever, but will any other Smackdown star be able to stop him? There's also Matt Hardy, who was once a Smackdown star, and now finds himself on the ECW roster. Matt appeared in the main event last week to successfully defend his US championship against Chavo Guerrero, Shelton Benjamin and Mr. Kennedy. Will Matt continue his winning ways as an ECW star and United States Champion?
