2015 WWE Battleground Results Coverage (Updated)
Welcome to 2015 WWE Battleground results coverage from WWE Characters the Blog! This latest pay-per-view was held on Sunday, July 19th from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Among the high profile matches on the card were Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Kevin Owens vs. John Cena for the WWE United States Championship. All results and brief match recaps for the winners and losers are recorded in the sections below!

The pay-per-view will feature a special pre-show ahead of the main card. On this Kickoff Show will be a match featuring R-Truth versus King Barrett for Barrett's official crown. The pre-show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EST on Sunday night via WWE website and WWE Network.
Winner: King Barrett won via pinfall over R-Truth.
Winner: Randy Orton won via pinfall over Sheamus.
Stephanie did an interview backstage with Jo Jo. She said there would be a Divas Triple Threat match tonight and suggested each of the three teams choose their representative well, because tonight continues the new WWE Diva Revolution.
New Day vs. Prime Time Players (c)
Woods interfered on the apron late causing Kofi to be able to DDT Titus down for a near fall. Kofi went to the top rope and jumped at Titus, who connected on his gut with a strike. D-Young tagged in and started to clean house against the New Day including a backdrop on the side apron to take down Woods. Young came back in the ring from the outside and Kofi hit a spin kick. New Day tried for a double team move and Young escaped it, then connected on a Gut Check with his knees on Kofi. Big E came in as Young tagged Titus in. Titus hit his sit out Powerslam for the win.
Winners: The Prime Time Players won via pinfall over New Day to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships.
Paige was backstage and hyped up Becky Lynch and Charlotte about tonight's big match. Becky said they will tear the division down and rebuild it brick by brick. Charlotte said they'd do it with "Flair" as the three divas locked pinkies in union and smiled.
Winner: Bray Wyatt defeated Roman Reigns via pinfall

R-Truth vs. King Barrett
This matchup was held on the Battleground Kickoff special. The pre-show panel sent it to ringside for Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler to call the match. Truth came out and revved up the crowed with a bunch of “What’s Up” call outs. Barrett was out next with his official crown, scepter and cape. At one point during the match, Barrett escaped to the outside for a break, but Truth launched himself over the top rope to jump on him. Two near finishes came early as Truth hit a scissor kick and Barrett hit Winds of Change. Truth avoided Bull Hammer once and tried for Lie Detector, but Barrett held the ropes and dropped Truth. He blasted back with the Bull Hammer to put Truth down for the pin.Winner: King Barrett won via pinfall over R-Truth.
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
The two continued countering each others’ moves throughout. Orton managed to kick out of White Noise late in the contest. Sheamus went to the top rope for a move but Orton got up and crotched him on the corner. Orton climbed up and hit the Superplex and made a slow cover, with Sheamus kicking out at 2-1/2. Orton went for the RKO after hitting the DDT from the ropes. Sheamus avoided it and went for a rollup, with Orton kicking out. Sheamus blasted him with the Brogue Kick, then dragged Orton to center ring to put the Clover Leaf on. Orton nearly grabbed the bottom rope but Sheamus pulled him back. Orton used his remaining strength and got to the rope. Sheamus went to pick up Orton for a move, but Orton avoided it and hit a surprise RKO for the win.

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt
Reigns knocked Wyatt to the outside early but as he went to grab him through the ropes, Wyatt blasted him with a huge shot to the head. Back in the ring, Wyatt took control of things with more strikes, but Reigns soon recovered and hit him down with a clothesline. Wyatt went out of the ring but Reigns went out and tossed him into the barricade. Later, Reigns charged at Wyatt near the steel steps. Wyatt moved aside and Reigns crashed shoulder first into the steps, falling to the floor. At one point, Reigns went for the driveby with Wyatt near the apron. Wyatt got up and chopped him down to counter it, then hit a senton bomb on the outside floor. Wyatt went for Sister Abigail later, and Reigns countered hitting a Superman Punch for a near fall.
At one point, Reigns hit about 10 clotheslines in the corner on Wyatt. Wyatt rolled to the outside. He eventually recovered and grabbed two steel chairs at ringside. Reigns came out of the ring and punched him down. He looked at the chairs and started to toss them into the ring. With Wyatt rolled back in the ring, a figure in a hooded sweatshirt suddenly attacked Reigns from behind, shoving him into the ringpost. Wyatt came over and hit Sister Abigail on Reigns on the side apron. He followed with another in the ring for the win. Post-match, the hooded figure got in the ring and revealed it was Luke Harper.
Winner: Bray Wyatt defeated Roman Reigns via pinfall
Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Brie Bella - Triple Threat Divas Match
NXT Champion Sasha Banks and former NXT champ Charlotte decided to represent their respective teams. Nikki seemed to be entering the match for Team Bella, but she taunted the other two divas a bit then went to the outside to send Brie in instead. At one point, Sasha put Charlotte and Brie each across different corner ropes and then jumped on top of both. Later, Brie went to the outside and recovered near Nikki and Alicia Fox. Paige and Becky went on one side while Tamina and Noami went to the other. Nikki and Alicia tried to send Brie back in the ring, but Sasha came flying out on top of all the divas. Moments later, Charlotte jumped over the top rope to land on Tamina and Naomi. Nikki got knocked from the corner to the floor. Sasha gained control and put the Banks Statement submission on Charlotte. Nikki crawled back over to break things up and tossed Sasha outside. Charlotte managed to grab Nikki and put on the Figure 8 submission to make her tap out.
Winner: Charlotte won via submission over Brie Bella.
Kevin Owens vs. John Cena (c)
Winner: John Cena defeated Kevin Owens via pinfall to retain the WWE United States Championship.
Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins (c)
Winner: Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar ended in a no-contest/unannounced finish when The Undertaker interfered.

Kevin Owens vs. John Cena (c)
WWE United States Championship Match
Late in the match, Cena hit the AA off the middle rope and went for the pin, but Owens kicked out at the last moment. Cena was shocked he couldn’t put him away. He went to pick up Owens but got caught in the small package. Xena kicked out and put on the STF. Owens managed to get towards the ropes, but Cena was able to pull him back to center of the ring. Eventually, Owens tapped out giving Cena the victory.
Winner: John Cena defeated Kevin Owens via pinfall to retain the WWE United States Championship.
Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins (c)
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Lesnar dominated from the onset with Rollins doing a lot of attempting to run away. Lesnar hit multiple German Suplexes on Rollins. Rollins eventually gained some control and hit a series of kicks and then three super kicks. Rollins set up for the Pedigree, but Lesnar escaped and got Rollins up for an F5. Rollins slipped out and kneed Lesnar in the back, then sent him to ringside. Rollins hit several suicide dives. Back in the ring, Brock recovered and hit the seventh suplex. Moments later, he hit the F5 and went for the pin. The ref got to two but then the lights went out and the gong was heard.
The lights came back on with Undertaker standing in the ring and Rollins gone. Lesnar and Heyman looked shocked. Undertaker got out of an F5 attempt and kicked Lesnar below the belt, then chokeslammed Lesnar. Taker hit a Tombstone Piledriver. Moments later, he hit a second Piledriver. The fans chanted “One More Time,” but Taker dropped down to one knee and stuck out his tongue to pose as his music played. Taker left the ring to go up the ramp. He eventually looked back towards Lesnar, then put his fist up to end the show.
Winner: Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar ended in a no-contest/unannounced finish when The Undertaker interfered.
