WWE releases Candice & Snuka

Today WWE released yet another member of its talent, but this time around it was one of its loveliest, veteran WWE Divas. On Friday June 19, 2009, WWE officially came to terms with the release of Candice Michelle, former WWE Womens Champion.

WWE's standard announcement via WWE.com:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Candice Michelle as of today, June 19, 2009. WWE wishes Candice the best in all future endeavors.

Candice hadn't seen much wrestling since sustaining an injury on WWE Raw. She was moved to the Smackdown roster during WWE's 2009 Supplemental draft, but never saw much, if any action on the show. Candice had notable feuds with the likes of Torrie Wilson and Melina, and also was one of several divas to appear nude in Playboy magazine.

Candice uses Twiter and back on June 3rd mentioned she was planning to return to the ring. Her latest update says "I'm free to grow!" which may be in reference to her release from WWE. You can follow Candice at Twitter here.

Best wishes to Candice with all of her future endeavors. Will TNA recruit yet another WWE Diva to its ranks, just like Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria)?

In other news, Sim Snuka formerly a member of Deuce and Domino was also released Friday. Snuka had also been part of the Raw storyline when Randy Orton was forming the Legacy stable, yet Snuka and Manu were ousted from the group and received a beatdown from Rhodes, Dibiase and Orton. That was about the last that was seen of Snuka. WWE.com release statement for Sim Snuka

Raw Preview 01.19.09

Tonight marks a major return for the WWE Raw program as the Chairman, Vincent Kennedy McMahon will make his presence felt. For weeks leading up to tonight, the show's been in a state of disarray with Mike Adamle in the GM spot, followed by a battle for power between Shane and Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie promptly rid the show of her brother, who told her she could see how Raw flops with her in the lead. Stephanie's been all business as the GM, but also made an enemy in Chris Jericho. Last week, tensions between the two boiled over. Jericho told Stephanie he refused to wrestle until it was for the World Heavyweight Title. He also let Steph know that nothing she said mattered since her father would be back to clean up her mess. Stephanie was pushed to the limit and told Jericho two words her father made famous, "Your'e Fired!" Jericho left the arena stunned. Now with Vince McMahon set to return on Raw, will the Chairman have a different opinion about the Jericho firing? Or will Jericho find he has "No Chance in Hell" of returning to Raw? What will Vince have to say about his daughter's job as GM?

Tonight will also be a special Raw for superstar CM Punk. Not only will Punk be wrestling in his home city of Chicago, Illinois, but he'll also be in his third and final match for the Intercontinental title. In his two previous attempts, Punk was on opposite ends of a DQ finish. Match one saw William Regal get disqualified to preserve his title. Match 2 had Punk disqualified for a low blow, which may have been more of an acting job by Regal. Stephanie McMahon informed Regal he would have to defend his title yet again, but tonight's match will be a No Disqualification contest. Will CM Punk be able to capture the title in his hometown? Or will William Regal continue to hold onto the belt in 2009?

Last week's Raw also saw the formation of Randy Orton's Legacy stable. At first it appeared that Ted Dibiase had returned and aligned himself with already-angry Manu and Snuka, who were looking for revenge on Orton. The 3 men stormed down to the ring ready to give Orton a beatdown, but Manu and Snuka found themselves ambushed as Rhodes, Orton and Dibiase all attacked them. The two were left layed out in the ring, as Orton, Dibiase and Rhodes proceeded up the ramp in all their glory. Will Snuka and Manu look for further retaliation on tonight's episode of Raw? What will be next for these superstars as the Royal Rumble approaches?

Raw Preview 01.12.09

Last week on Raw, CM Punk was ready to capture the Intercontinental Title from William Regal in their anticipated match. Due to the fact Regal put his hands on the referee to prevent CM Punk from completing the Go To Sleep, Regal was disqualified. Although Punk was technically the winner, he did not claim the title. Regal and girlfriend Layla celebrated the victory, but it was brief, as General Manager Stephanie McMahon appeared on the Titantron. Stephanie informed Regal he would be defending the title yet again versus CM Punk, however this time if he was disqualified, he would lose the Intercontinental Championship. How will Regal fare in tonight's title defense under Stephanie's stipulation? Will Raw see the crowning of its first new champion of the New Year?

Raw's main event last week saw Shawn Michaels ordered to team up with John Cena to face Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. The match was created by Stephanie McMahon in order to test Shawn Michaels' level of integrity. Michaels displayed integrity in the win, by delivering a Superkick to both Orton and Jericho to win the match. John Cena wisely stayed on the outside of the ring to avoid Michaels attacking him after the victory. Meanwhile backstage, JBL informed Todd Grisham that he had made a deal with Stephanie McMahon. For tonight's Raw, Shawn Michaels will face John Cena in a one-on-one bout. In Shawn's corner will be his current boss, JBL, sho happens to be the #1 Contender for Cena's World Heavyweight title. What part will JBL play in the match as Shawn Michaels faces John Cena in the main event? Will Michaels do everything his employer orders him to, or will he display integrity yet again?

Last week also saw the division of Randy Orton's "Legacy" stable. Orton had informed Sim Snuka, Cody Rhodes and Manu that they would each have to win a match in week 1 to remain qualified for Legacy. Everyone won their match except for Manu, who Orton was quick to dismiss from the group. On last week's Raw, Orton had Rhodes & Snuka in a tag team match. The tag team won their match, with Rhodes taking the pinfall. Backstage, Orton informed Rhodes he was in, and Snuka was out, due to the fact Rhodes technically won the tag team match. Orton and Rhodes left the scene, now leaving Snuka and Manu out of the stable. Will Snuka and Manu seek revenge on Orton and Rhodes? What will be next for Orton's Legacy group?

Raw Preview 01.05.09

Last week saw an interesting ending to WWE Raw with JBL ordering his employee Shawn Michaels to simply lay down for the pinfall. Michaels just couldn't bring himself to lose like that, and instead allowed JBL to level him with a vicious clothesline. JBL took the pin in the Fatal Fourway matchup, and now becomes the #1 Contender for John Cena's World Heavyweight title at the Royal Rumble. Michaels was close to a title shot, if not for the orders of his employer. Now the businessman JBL prepares to face John Cena, a foe he's quite familiar with. What will JBL have to say regarding Cena and Shawn Michaels? How will Cena and Michaels react?

Last week's Fatal Fourway saw Chris Jericho and Randy Orton both eliminated from #1 Contender status. Orton has aligned himself with Team Priceless and formed a stable known as "Legacy". On last week's show he informed Manu, Cody Rhodes and Sim Snuka they would need to win their singles matches to be included in the group. Snuka and Rhodes managed to get wins over their opponents, but Manu lost his match to Matt Hardy. What will Orton have to say to Manu regarding his consideration for the team? Also, it was revealed that Kelly Kelly's mystery lover was Randy Orton. Orton told Kelly it was a one time thing and he didn't have time to deal with her. Kane is of course hellbent on finding that individual to take out his frustrations. Will Kane target Orton on Raw? Will Kelly align herself with either superstar? What will Raw's WWE divas have to say regarding Kelly's hookup?

Tonight's Raw will also feature the Intercontinental title on the line as CM Punk has earned a shot at King Regal's title. Regal will be accompanied by his girlfriend WWE Diva Layla and will attempt to successfully defend the title he's held for weeks now. Punk looks to get his New Year off to a great start by winning a title he's never held before, adding to his already impressive resume. Will Punk be able to overcome Regal as well as the distractions from his ringside valet, Layla? Or will Regal start of 2009 with a successful win to continue his reign?

The 2009 Royal Rumble is just a few weeks away! Which superstars from Raw be named to the match? Catch all the action of Raw at 9PM EST on USA!

Raw Races to the Rumble...

Monday Night Raw produced some interesting revelations and results which seem to carry implications not only for the 2009 Royal Rumble, but also Wrestlemania 25. The final match of the night, the Fatal Fourway produced a surprising victor and finish, as Shawn Michaels simply allowed JBL to deliver a clothesline and then pin him, after minutes of non-action. In this situation the fans may be punished twice, because it appears we are heading towards Shawn Michaels vs. JBL at Wrestlemania 25. Not the most entertaining show for the Showstopper, and having JBL as Cena's opponent is also a case of "been there done that". The buildup of JBL's character within the Raw ranks hasn't been done well enough to warrant this situation. With Batista out of action (he seemed the likely opponent for Cena), you might think that Randy Orton would be next in line for a title shot, after Jericho. Instead, the WWE threw a slight curveball, but only momentarily. Expect Shawn Michaels to somehow cost JBL the title, and to escalate a feud for Wrestlemania 25. JBL is deifnitely playing a similar role to the Million Dollar Man of years ago who tried to buy the WWE title from Andre the Giant.

WWE Raw also saw crazed super-fan Rosa rush out of the audience to push Melina off Beth Phoenix tonight. Security hauled her out of the arena promptly with Santino marella pretending he'd never seen her before. This angle is looking a lot like the way Mickie James got her start, as the crazed fan of Trish Stratus. Possibly Rosa sticks her nose in at the Rumble match, either costing Beth the title or helping her preserve it?

More interesting moments came with Randy Orton's proposed "Legacy" stable, and his telling Manu, Cody Rhodes & Sim Snuka they needed to win tonight or would be tossed out of the group. Rhodes won due to countout, check. Snuka wins by pinfall over Haas impersonating the senior Snuka. But Manu got the toughest draw of the night in ECW Champ Matt Hardy. Manu comes up on the losing end, but then again so did Randy Orton in the Fatal Fourway. Will Orton really have any ground to stand on for tossing Manu out of this new stable?

And Orton wasn't just part of the Fourway and this stable situation, but was also revealed as Kelly Kelly's love interest. Definitely a surprise here, and this looks to set up Kane going after Orton in the Rumble, and maybe the two of them fighting at Wrestlemania? Interesting developments on Raw, but note to the Creative Team: Find a new opponent for John Cena, soon.

Raw Recap 12.15.08

Raw Recap from Pittsburgh, PA:

As Raw opened, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler discussed the surprises of last night's Armageddon. A picture was shown of Jeff Hardy wearing the WWE Title after winning the Triple Threat match. Also, last night it was discovered that Shawn Michaels is broke, and now will be an employee for JBL. Over the weekend, The Miz & John Morrison won the World Tag Team titles by defeating CM Punk & Kofi Kingston in Ontario, Canada.

Kelly Kelly & Melina vs. Jillian Hall & Beth Phoenix

The WWE Divas were out to open WWE Raw. Michael Cole mentioned a Santa's Little Helpers divas match from Armageddon that Lawler enjoyed. Santino accompanied Beth to the ring. As they got towards the ring, they spotted a female fan with a "Beth Phoenix is Hot" poster. The woman asked for a photo, and Santino rushed over to stand by her. The woman then motioned that she wanted a pic with Beth not Santino. Beth went over and then threw the camera to Santino to snap the picture.

During the match, Cole noted that Kelly Kelly was named "Hardest Hitting Diva" in WWE magazine. Kelly started the match and was able to do an impressive backflip when Jillian grabbed her foot. As Kelly got to the ropes though, Beth grabbed her hair and yanked her down to the mat. Jillian continued to punish Kelly, kneeing her. Kelly tried to flip out of a slam move, but fell to the mat. She tried to stretch over for a tag to Melina, but Jillian saw it and rushed over to hit Melina off the apron. Just then, Kelly grabbed Jillian and rolled her up for a winning pinfall.

As Kelly celebrated the win, Jillian hit her down from behind. Beth rushed over to attack Melina, and then the two divas started to kick Kelly on the mat. Just then, pyro erupted from backstage, and Kane made his way out from backstage to the ring. Kane chased Jillian and Beth out of the ring. Kane stood over Kelly who started to back away in fear of the Big Red Monster. Kane backed her into a corner staring in her face, then offered his hand. Kelly rolled out of the ring, then started to back up the ramp, but Kane followed her all the way backstage.

Winners: Kelly Kelly & Melina win via pinfall over Jillian Hall & Beth Phoenix.

Raw returned with a replay of Kane stalking Kelly up the ramp. Footage was then shown backstage, with a fearful Kelly in a hallway, looking over her shoulder. She kept moving forward and bumped into Jamie Noble. He asked if she was alright and Kelly continued going. As Noble turned he tried to stand in front of Kane, but Kane shoved him to the wall. Kane found Kelly hiding around a corner then walked up to her. Kane got in Kelly's face and said they need to talk.

Rey Mysterio vs. Deuce (Sim Snuka)

Cody Rhodes and Manu were at ringside to watch the matchup. After Lilian introduced Deuce, he took the mic from her. Deuce said from now on he wants to be introduced by his real name, Sim Snuka, since he's the son of WWE Hall of Famer, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.

During the match, Sim Snuka displayed impressive power against Mysterio, impressing Manu and Rhodes. Snuka used knees to Mysterio's back on the mat, then wore him down with a chin lock. Snuka tried for a knee drop splash move off the ropes, but Mysterio avoided it, then dropkicked Snuka. Rey ducked a clothesline and started to fight back, using a headscissors to flip Snuka to the mat. Rey tried to whip Snuka to the ropes, but Snuka came back with a high knee to Rey's face. Snuka couldn't capture the pinfall, and Rey started to gain momentum.

Off the corner, Rey jumped at Snuka. Snuka caught him in mid air, but Rey turned it into a headscissors and tossed Snuka to the ropes. Rey ran across the ring to come at him for a 619, but Snuka rolled out. Snuka turned to acknowledge Manu and Rhodes, but Rey jumped off the apron onto Snuka. The momentum caused Rey to go into Rhodes slightly. Rhodes took exception and shoved Mysterio, then Rey came back to push him down. Manu came over to knock down Mysterio. Mysterio got back in the ring and rushed out toward the bottom of the ramp as Manu and Rhodes tried to go after him. Just then, Mike Knox came running up behind Mysterio and attacked him. Knox grabbed Rey and used his finisher to twist slam Rey into the ground.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via disqualification when Manu & Rhodes attacked him.

A D-Generation X advertisement for WWE Shop was shown. Products highlighted included the DX Sweatshirt, DX T-Shirt, and then bear stuffed animals representing Triple H and Shawn Michaels. HHH joked how the Michaels bear had hair just like Shawn's, and if you push the button on it, all the hair falls out.

Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole discussed how it was revealed at Armageddon that Shawn Michaels is near bankrupt, so he has decided to become JBL's employee.

Kane ordered Kelly to sit down in a dark back room. He talked to Kelly about how she looked him in he eye as they presented a Slammy and told him "Love is a wonderful thing". Kane asked if she was trying to tell him something. Kelly said they were presenting an away. Kane asked Kelly if she was leading him on, then told her that many people have hurt him and take advantage of. Kane opened the door and told Kelly she could leave right now. Kelly got up to go, but Kane slammed the door. As Kelly sat back down, Kane said he knew she felt something.

Todd Grisham talked to Randy Orton backstage. Grisham asked Orton what he has to say, after demanding to speak. Orton said earlier he challenged Batista to a rematch and hasn't heard any reply. Orton said it's because Batista is a coward. Just then, Batista was there in Orton's face. He said if Orton wants his answer, he's got it. Orton slapped Batista in the face. An enraged Batista chased Orton backstage and out to the ramp. Orton lured Batista towards him, and just then Manu and Rhodes came rushing out from backstage, knocking Batista down. All three men began to beat up Batista down the ramp. All of a sudden, John Cena came rushing out from backstage. Cena knocked down Manu and punched Rhodes away. Orton quickly headed to the top of the ramp. He and Cena stared at one another, as Manu and Rhodes recovered up near Orton.

Batista thanked Cena for saving him earlier. Cena said no problem because he told himself once he finished with Jericho he was going after Orton, Rhodes & Manu next. Batista started to ask Cena about his rematch with Jericho. Todd Grisham came up to Cena and Batista to let them know that Stephanie McMahon scheduled a match for later. It will be a 3 on 2 handicap match with Rhodes, Manu & Orton facing Cena and Batista. Batista told Cena they'd finish their conversation later.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho came out from backstage walking down the ramp in a suit, not dressed for the match. Duggan, Lilian and the ref looked puzzled as he got into the ring. Jericho took the mic from Lilian then said he's refusing to wrestle tonight. Jericho reminded everyone he's the 2008 Superstar of the Year and has been carrying Raw for the whole year. Jericho said it's insulting he should have to compete against someone like Duggan after all that. Jericho said he's the best in the world at what he does. Jericho announced he won't enter the ring again until he's given a championship match or match worthy of the Superstar of the Year. Duggan looked dejected by the comments as Jericho left the ring and walked backstage arrogantly.

Winner: Match never officially started, and Chris Jericho left the ring.

Kelly Kelly was shown backstage in a dark room sitting and shivering as Kane intimidated her. Kane asked Kelly if she wanted to get to know him better, and Kelly said no. Kane asked if there was someone else and Kelly shook her head yes. Kane screamed at her asking who it is. Kane told Kelly she will tell him whether she wants to or not.

CM Punk & Kofi Kingston vs. John Morrison & The Miz
World Tag Team Title Match

Slideshow pics from a live event two days ago in Ontario, Canada were shown, where Miz and Morrison captured the World Tag titles against Punk and Kingston. Tonight, they gave the former champs a rematch on Raw.

As the match went on, Miz & Morrison began to isolate CM Punk, doubleteaming him. Morrison picked up Punk on his shoulders and tagged Miz, so Miz could get on the turnbuckle. With Punk still on his shoulders, Morrison moved towards the corner. Punk was able to get to the corner, kick Morrison away, then suplexed Miz down. This move allowed Punk the opportunity to crawl over and tag in Kingston. Miz barely managed to tag in Morrison. Kofi went on a rampage as he knocked Morrison down then did a double leg drop on him.

Kofi had a near pinfall but Miz was in to break things up. Punk rushed in and knocked Miz out of the ring then dove over the rope onto him. Kingston tried to roll up Morrison for the win, but Morrison kicked out. Morrison whipped Kofi to the corner, but Kofi attempted to jump back at him off the corner. Morrison moved away then jumped off the rope to spin kick Kofi down. Morrison had a winning pin, but Punk rushed into the ring to stop it. Miz was back in and beat up Punk across the ring and back to the outside. As Kofi turned his attention to them, Morrison took advantage by kicking Kingston in the gut, then hitting the Moonlight Drive to win it.

Winners: John Morrison & The Miz win via pinfall over Kofi Kingston & CM Punk to retain the World Tag Team titles.

After the tag team title match, Miz and Morrison started to celebrate in the ring, but suddenly pyro exploded up near the ramp. Kane emerged from backstage, then stared at Regal who had been sitting in a throne at the top of the ramp. Kane got into the ring with Punk, Kingston, Miz and Morrison. Kane looked at Punk briefly, then turned and grabbed Miz with a hand on his throat. Morrison tried to attack but Kane booted him down, then Chokeslammed The Miz to the mat. Lawler speculated that Kelly must have said The Miz is her current interest, prompting Kane's attack. Kane hit Miz with a Tombstone Pliedriver then looked down menacingly at him.

Members of the Pittsburgh Steelers were shown clowning around in the Raw live audience.

JBL made his way out from backstage to the top of the ramp with a mic in hand. JBL invited everyone to watch the comments made by his newest employee last night, Shawn Michaels. Footage was shown from Armageddon, with HBK and JBL in the ring. Michaels informed everyone he was hurting financially. HBK let everyone know he lived the lavish life when he was in his 20's buying all sorts of luxury items. He said after marrying his wife and having kids, Michaels had an investment service invest in stocks for him, and then he began to give charitably to everyone he wanted to. Shawn said but now that the recession has hit, it's hit him too. Michaels said he needed to make the best move for he and his family, by becoming JBL's employee. HBK said JBL isn't the most likable person there is, but he's good financially and can help him. The fans began chanting things like "You sold out". JBL and Michaels shook hands to seal the deal, with fans still booing. JBL left the ring with Michaels looking dejected in the ring. As the replay footage ended, JBL smiled at the top of the ramp.

Backstage, WWE Divas Candice Michelle & Mickie James rushed into a locker room to ask Kelly if she was ok. Kelly said she was fine and that Kane didn't hurt her. The girls asked Kelly about the Miz saying she never told them about anything with him. Kelly became upset that they would think she's with Miz. then rushed out. Candice and Mickie followed her out asking if she needed their help.

Santa Claas vs. Dolph Ziggler

Charlie Haas emerged from backstage in a Santa costume, carrying a red bag of gifts. Santa handed apfew presents to various people in the audience, before getting into the ring. Santa Haas handed a gift box to Ziggler who put his hand out to shake, but Ziggler threw the box down to the mat. Ziggler began attacking Santa Haas as the match started, yelling that he is Dolph Ziggler. Santa escaped Ziggler in the corner, but Ziggler was quick to regain control, using a series of elbow drops on Claas. Ziggler went for a quick pin, but Santa kicked out. Ziggler started using a side headlock, but Claas got to his feet and used elbows to break the hold. Ziggler yanked him back down to the mat, then started kicking and taunting Haas. Santa Claas eventually regained control and started with a series of punches on Ziggler. Santa whipped Ziggler to the corner, but as he rushed him, Ziggler avoided the charge. Ziggler jumped up behind Claas, grabbed him around the neck and slammed him down to the mat to win it.

After the victory, Ziggler tore the suit and beard off Haas. Finally the ref restrained Ziggler and told him to leave the ring.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall over Santa Claas.

Behind the scenes footage was shown for Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia, starring Mr. Kennedy. Various cast and crew discussed Kennedy's acting skills in the movie, saying he's a good actor and tremendously courageous. Kennedy said his character in the movie is a lot like Mr. Kennedy. Behind Enemy Lines Colombia arrives on DVD, January 6, 2009.

Michael Cole discussed the emotional story developing out of Armageddon last night, with Jeff Hardy winning the WWE title finally. Cole said on Friday night, Jeff Hardy will make his first appearance ever as the WWE Champion.

Backstage, a dejected Hacksaw Jim Duggan was sitting on a box. Cryme Tyme came up to him and told him "it's time". The three walked off together.

Stephanie McMahon spoke to Chris Jericho in her office. Steph asked about the stunt Jericho pulled out in the ring refusing to wrestle. Jericho questioned why someone of his caliber should wrestle Hacksaw. Steph said she's Jericho's boss and he dances when she says to. Jericho then told her Batista's rematch clause for the World Heavyweight title has expired. Steph says she knows and so next week there will be a series of 4 matches with former champions to determine competitors for a Fatal Fourway on the next Raw after that. She told Jericho that Hacksaw was a warmup match, but Jericho said he didn't need one. Steph told Jericho if he chooses to defy her orders more, she'll make sure he never gets another match worthy of Superstar of the Year. Jericho glared at her then left the office.

Backstage, Orton came up to yell at Manu & Rhodes. Orton said they've failed twice now to take out Batista. Orton said they need to be 100% successful in all they do, or this group and legacy is over. Batista made his entrance to the ring for the main event as Raw went to commercial break.

Batista & John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes, Manu and Randy Orton
3 on 2 Handicap Match

Cole and Lawler reviisted the earlier attack by Orton, Rhodes and Manu on Batista. John Cena rushed in for the save, setting up the main event tag match.

Early on Batista and Cena were both involved in the match. After a commercial break, Orton, Manu and Rhodes all began to tripleteam Batista in their corner of the ring, trying to keep him from the tag. Batista fought back and punched down each man, but Manu, the legal man, quickly knocked him down. Orton tagged in and started to stomp on Batista on the mat, followed by a knee drop on Batista. Manu was back in and continued the punishment on The Animal. Orton started putting a headlock on Batista, but Batista stood up and dropped Orton back to the mat. Both men managed to make tags, with Cena coming in on a tear against Manu. Cena knocked Manu down several times, then hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle with Orton and Rhodes watching. As Cena prepared for the FU with Manu up, Orton distracted the ref on the apron. Rhodes rushed in to knock Cena down, preventing the FU.

Rhodes tagged in and went to work on Cena briefly, before Orton returned to the ring. During the match, Lawler announced the 4 matches for next week's Raw involving former champions to set up the Fatal Fourway. The matches with be Shawn Michaels vs. Kane, Rey Mysterio vs. JBL, Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk, and Batista vs. Randy Orton. The four winners go on to a Fatal Fourway, and the winner of that is the #1 Contender.

Team Priceless managed to gain the upperhand on Cena, again triple teaming him. Manu hit a huge splash on him in the corner, then one from off the ropes. Rhodes and Manu continued to target the neck of John Cena. Rhodes hit a knee drop to Cena's forehead, but was unable to score the pinfall. Rhodes backed up to a corner of the ring to measure Cena for another knee drop, but this time Cena rolled out of the way. Batista tagged in and went wild, slamming Rhodes around the ring, then clotheslining Manu down and knocking Orton off the apron. After a huge Spinebuster on Rhodes, Batista was ready for a Batista Bomb. Orton was back in the ring with Manu and shoved him into Batista's back. Orton hit a huge RKO on Batista. Orton then ordered Manu and Rhodes to go beat up Cena on the outside.

As Rhodes and Manu beat up Cena near the crowd barrier, Orton shoved the ref aside in the ring then did a running Punt Kick into Batista's head. Cena was able to break free and rush into the ring to defend Batista from any further attack. Orton, Rhodes & Manu backed up the ramp then raised their hands in unison after the attack.

Winners: Referee called for the bell when match got out of control. No clear winners announced.

Knox whipped Finlay to the corner at one point, but then Finlay avoided him on the charge. Finlay was able to get the Celtic Cross on Knox, but Swagger was back in the ring to break it up.

Tommy Dreamer got back up and ran across the ring to take Swagger to the outside. As the ref was over yelling at Dreamer and Swagger outside the ring, Hornswoggle was able to hit a Tadpole Splash off the corner. Teddy said there's no way that would happen. Henry said he'd settle for Noble instead. Noble agreed to it and Long said the match would go down, next.

A brief promo was shown to announce the Boogeyman is coming back to ECW.

Matt Striker discussed voting for one of the matches at Cyber Sunday. Fans can text either PIPER, GOLDUST or HONKY to 44993 to vote for who Santino Marella will face at Cyber Sunday. Votes cost just 99 cents per.

Noble tried to fight back as he punched Henry several times. Henry stumbled back and Noble went to jump at him. Henry caught Noble in mid air, then held him before hitting the World's Strongest Slam.

After the victory, Henry did two more World's Strongest Slams. All of a sudden, Matt Hardy came rushing down to the ring to intervene. Hardy began to fight Henry off, then took on Atlas who came at him. Hardy hit a Twist of Fate on Atlas, but as he turned and went back at Henry, Henry picked him and hit the World's Strongest Slam. Henry did two huge splashes down onto Matt Hardy, leaving him down next to Noble in the ring.

Winner: Mark Henry wins via pinfall over Jamie Noble.

This time Jericho was special guest referee and he added William Regal as guest timekeeper and Randy Orton as guest commentator.

Despite the odds being against him, Batista delivered a double Spear to Y2J & JBL. GM Mike Adamle emerged from backstage and ordered a new reft to head to the ring. Batista was able to deliver a Spinebuster and win the #1 Contender spot yet again. After the win, GM Adamle came back out to say Batista will face Jericho at Cyber Sunday. The fans can vote who the special guest ref will be from choices Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WWE Extreme Rewind showed Monday Night Raw's match between Kofi Kingston and Ted Dibiase. Cody Rhodes distracted Kofi by getting on the side apron. At ringside, CM Punk ran over to take down Rhodes, but the distraction allowed Dibiase to get a version of the Million Dollar Dream then a Russian Legsweep to defeat Kofi.

Manu accompanied Rhodes & Dibiase to the ring for the match. Towards the end of the match, the heels effectively kept Bourne away from a tag, beating on him in their corner and tagging one another in and out. Bourne finally escaped when he was able to roll Miz into a pinfall. Miz kicked out of the pin and ran to tag Morrison. Morrison ran in and kneed Bourne down then knocked Kofi off the apron. Bourne managed to stretch out for a tag as Morrison grabbed his leg.

In came CM Punk to the crowd's excitement. Punk began to gain the edge against Morrison, delivering a spinning kick followed by a running knee in the corner. Dibiase ran over on the apron to interfere, but Punk knocked him off. Soon, all of the competitors got involved in the ring at once. Rhodes and Miz were on the outside and Ricky Ortiz leapt over the top rope to crash down onto them. Then, Kofi did a springboard off the top rope to also land on top of them.

Meanwhile in the ring, Punk was on fire against Morrison. As Punk had Morrison up in the GTS, Manu got up on the apron to distract him and Punk ran at him to knock him away. As the ref was distracted, Dibiase got up on the other apron and grabbed Punk then snapped him against the top rope. Punk was flung towards Morrison who delivered the Moonlight Drive to slam Punk to the mat for the pinfall.

ECW ended with Manu, Rhodes and Dibiase celebrating up the ramp as Bourne, Ortiz and Kofi checked on Punk in the ring.

Winners: Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibise, John Morrison & The Miz win via pinfall over CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Ricky Ortiz & Evan Bourne.

Raw Preview 09.15.08

Tonight's Raw will feature an explosive main event as the World Heavyweight title will be on the line. The recent champion, Chris Jericho, won the title due to CM Punk's concussion suffered at Unforgiven. Jericho was a last minute replacement for the Championship Scramble and managed to take advantage of a golden opportunity, winning the belt by scoring the final pinfall. Since Punk was unable to defend his title, he has now been given a rematch opportunity on Raw. Punk and Jericho will lock up inside a steel cage with the World Heavyweight title on the line. Which superstar will prevail? Will there be any outside interference, or will the cage keep outsiders away from the match?

Punk received his concussion due to the attack suffered backstage at Unforgiven. Behind the attack were Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes and Manu, as they attacked Punk right after Orton slapped him in the face. Orton claimed responsibility for taking Punk out, but the new three-man alliance of second-generation superstars had a bone to pick over that. Orton ended up slapping Ted Dibiase in the ring on last week's Raw, prompting a heated moment. It appeared all 4 men might have been headed towards a stronger alliance of 2nd generation stars. What will Dibiase, Rhodes and Manu's response be to Orton's actions? Will the 4 men be able to get along?

Finally, the WWE Divas of Raw have a familiar face back in the picture. More specifically, Beth Phoenix the Glamazon has a new #1 contender for the Women's title. That diva is Candice Michelle, who has finally returned from injury. Her injury was a broken clavicle suffered during her match against Beth Phoenix. Now Candice will head into Unforgiven and have a shot to regain the title Beth took from her. How will these divas prepare mentally for their future fight? Will Beth continue to dominate her diva opponents, or will she be distracted by Candice?

Wrestling Poll: New Stars & Titles

The WWE has added several new superstars over the past few months. Starting off there is the Russian Vladimir Kozlov who completely dominates and brutalizes opponents in the ring. Then there's Ricky Ortiz, an ECW newcomer who uses power moves in the ring as well as the support of fans waving his Ricky Ortiz rally towels in the crowd. ECW also has a high-flyer in the exciting Evan Bourne who does a beautiful Shooting Starpress off the turnbuckle to splash down on his opponents. There's also Smackdown's R-Truth, who has a hip-hop vibe and kicks positivity, but in the ring is all business, using impressive spin moves and flying kicks. And don't forget the newest of the bunch, a 2nd generation star named Manu, who is the song of legendary Wild Samoan, Afa.

Now the question is with all these promising new talents in the WWE, which of them will be the first to strike WWE gold? Vote in the latest poll here at WWE Characters the Blog below, or use the poll on the lower right sidebar!

Raw Preview 09.08.08

Last night's Unforgiven Pay-Per-View saw the biggest surprise of the night in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble match. The surprise was that CM Punk, was not even a participant. JBL, Batista, Rey Mysterio and Kane still battled for the title, with Chris Jericho being Punk's replacement. Jericho had been badly beaten earlier in the night by Shawn Michaels in their match, but Y2J capitalized on a fallen Kane to score the final pinfall of the match. Jericho's golden opportunity now has given him the World Heavyweight title. What will Jericho have to say regarding his title victory? What will CM Punk's response be to the way his title was lost?

CM Punk was taken out of the Championship Scramble by GM Mike Adamle after Punk was attacked backstage. Punk was declared ineligible to compete due to injuries. The attack came from the World Tag team champs and their new "helper". It now appears a new stable has formed with Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes aligning themselves with the Legend Killer, Randy Orton, and a fourth wrestler named "Manu". What will the brand new alliance have in store for the rest of Raw's roster? Will Kofi Kingston and CM Punk respond to their attackers?

Shawn Michaels also displayed anything but forgiveness at Unforgiven. Michaels gave Chris Jericho an unmerciful beatdown in their Unsanctioned Match, finally causing the ref to call for the bell. The ruthlessness displayed by Michaels was something that hasn't been seen from the Heartbreak Kid in some time. What will Michaels' next move be with WWE? Is Michaels now done wrestling, or does the Showstopper have more in store?

Find out the answers to all these questions on Monday Night Raw, 9PM EST on USA!
