Wrestling Poll: Future WWE or Heavyweight Champ

We've seen the trend in the WWE over the recent years. With the exceptions of Sheamus and Jack Swagger, it's mostly been John Cena, Edge, Undertaker, Batista, Jericho holding onto those major championships. Whether it be the WWE Title or World Heavyweight, it seems that several rising stars look ready to capture the titles but simply fail to get the push.

Cases in point are Kofi Kingston who had a nice little push towards Randy Orton at one point. Another example was John Morrison who feuded a bit with CM Punk, and even battled Jeff Hardy in an outstanding match when those guys were World Champions. Still Morrison seemed to fade out of the picture.

We've got The Miz and Wade Barrett lingering around the WWE Title, and both have shots to be first time champs in the near future. However, what about the other guys? The ones who have held mid-card status and the IC or US title, but have yet to win the major prize. Vote in the latest wrestling poll over who might break into the major title picture first!

POLL: Is Chris Jericho leaving WWE?

The latest storyline with Chris Jericho has been about as mysterious as his formerly cryptic Matrix style return message. Not long ago on Raw, Jericho informed the WWE Universe if he doesn't win the WWE Title at Night of Champions in the Six Pack Challenge, he was done, for good with WWE. However, just this past week on Raw, Jericho was entered into a match by the anonymous Raw GM with the stipulation that if he lost the match, he also lost his spot in the Six Pack Challenge.

Jericho's opponent was John Morrison, who amazingly won the match, sending Jericho out of the Six Pack Challenge. A dejected and silent Jericho was shown backstage, leaving fans wondering, what's next? Is Jericho about to retire from pro-wrestling, following in the footsteps of legend Shawn Michaels? Or is this another elaborate storyline from WWE? Jericho has been talk before and warned he would leave, only to come back to further irritate the fans whom he calls "hypocrites."

They've yet to announce a replacement for Jericho in the Six Pack Challenge, meaning it's just a Five Pack Challenge now. Potential fill-ins could be the recently returning Darren Young (although he hasn't done much to earn it), John Morrison or even Evan Bourne who seems far out of contention too. There's always that lingering rumor that HHH returns too. Still the focus here is on Jericho's future, which we could learn more about on next week's Raw.

Wrestling Poll: Best Raw Host?

For this latest WWE wrestling poll, the topic is the guest host celebrities who have taken over Raw each for one night only. The celebs have included a rap star, a reverend, football player, former game show host, a longtime rock band, NBA & NFL players and various actors. The guest hosting should continue through 2009, as it was first started by Donald Trump several months ago when he bought Monday Night Raw for a night. Trump instituted the policy that each week a different celebrity would step in to serve as guest host since Raw had no General Manager. Trump made this decision right before selling the WWE Raw show back to Vince McMahon for a boatload of money.

Wrestling Poll: New ECW Superstars

ECW currently holds what could be several big wrestling stars of the future. Through both the WWE draft and the ECW Superstar Initiative, the SyFy show often serves as a minor league for Raw and Smackdown. Fans may be missing out if they skip watching ECW on SyFy, since it features some of the up and coming talent coupled with savvy ring veterans like Tommy Dreamer, Christian, Shelton Benjamin and William Regal.

For the latest wrestling poll question, let's vote who will be the first of the talent on ECW to win a WWE title. Poll: Raw Guest Hosts?

When Donald Trump purchased Raw he not only initiated a huge 15 superstar trade amongst Smackdown, Raw & ECW, but he also added in a new caveat for the Raw show. Each week the show would get a unique celebrity guest host, whether it be a beautiful model, an actor or actress, sports or music star. So far we've seen WWE wrestler Batista, former WWE wrestler The Million Dollar Man, actor Seth Green and rock band ZZ Top all take control of Raw, flipping the show upside down. Some weeks have been entertaining while others have flopped. On 7/27 Raw will be hosted by the always interesting NBA star, Shaquille O'Neal, and on 8/3 actor Jeremy Piven will take over.

Poll: Best 2009 WWE Draft Move

We're now one week past the 2009 WWE Draft and almost a week past the supplemental draft which sent all sorts of wrestlers to new rosters in WWE. Notably, the WWE Champion Triple H was drafted to Raw, giving the show two major title holders, since John Cena has the World Heavyweight title on Raw as well. The WWE Womens Champion Melina moved to Smackdown, basically trading places as the Divas champion Maryse was drafted to Raw. United States Champion MVP and Intercontinental Title holder Rey Mysterio also swapped shows. Top heels Chris Jericho and Kane moved over to Smackdown giving that show even more star power. Poll: Wrestlemania 25 Matches

Wrestlemania 25 had a full slate of matches producing some interesting and perhaps surprising results. A "Miss Wrestlemania" was crowned after winning a divas battle royal, but in fact it was Santino Marella in disguise. Rey Mysterio defeated JBL for the Intercontinental title in near record time. John Cena overcame a giant and an ultimate opportunist to become new World Heavyweight champ. The Hardys showed the world just what Extreme means in their grueling match. Chris Jericho eliminated 3 WWE legends, despite an amazing performance by Ricky Steamboat. And Triple H finally gained some revenge by pulverizing the Legend Killer Randy Orton in the ring.

WWE Poll: Royal Rumble Surprises?

2009 Royal Rumble is now in the books and involved several situations which may have had the element of surprise to them. In this latest WWE wrestling poll, we'll examine which incident at the Rumble surprised fans the most. Possibly it was Randy Orton winning the Royal Rumble, despite his vicious attack on Mr. McMahon. He was clearly a marked man going into the match but outlasted the best of the field for nearly 50 minutes. There was also Shawn Michaels, choosing to deliver a Superkick to both his employer JBL, and JBL's opponent, John Cena. Michaels did his best to place JBL over Cena and left for backstage, hoping it would achieve the result of giving JBL the title. However, Cena managed to escape the pinfall as a new ref rushed in to count it.

There was also a surprise return to the Royal Rumble which may indicate a return to one of the rosters. Former champion, Rob Van Dam showed up and entered into the mix of the Rumble, engaging in a feud with Chris Jericho in the ring. The always dominant and powerful Beth Phoenix was defeated in a title match by Melina, crowning a new Womens Champion. And then there was the surprising betrayal by Matt Hardy on his own brother, Jeff, which ended up costing Jeff his WWE title.

Poll: Which Champ Loses 1st in 2009?

It's a brand new year for World Wrestling Entertainment and several superstars are carrying titles into the New Year. Some are brand new to that particular title, others have longstanding reigns or are returning champs.

John Cena's no stranger to holding the prized belt on Raw, only this time he heads into 09' with the World Heavyweight instead of the WWE title. Jeff Hardy owns the distinction of WWE Champion with his first reign ever, kicking his 2009 off to a great start. Then there's superstars such as Shelton Benjamin and WWE Diva Beth Phoenix. Each has held their respective title, the United States title and Womens Championship for quite some time and seem to be dominating their competitors. The tag belts belong to the teams of ECW's The Miz and John Morrison and the Colons on Smackdown. Matt Hardy's been looking strong on ECW, but Jack Swagger continues his meteoric rise from rookie to superstar #1 contender. And then there's William Regal, reigning King of the Ring 2008 and the Intercontinental Champion. Many may feel he's about due to lose his belt with a hungry CM Punk winning a tournament to become #1 Contender. The two face off early in 2009 on Raw.

Wrestling Poll: New Stars & Titles

The WWE has added several new superstars over the past few months. Starting off there is the Russian Vladimir Kozlov who completely dominates and brutalizes opponents in the ring. Then there's Ricky Ortiz, an ECW newcomer who uses power moves in the ring as well as the support of fans waving his Ricky Ortiz rally towels in the crowd. ECW also has a high-flyer in the exciting Evan Bourne who does a beautiful Shooting Starpress off the turnbuckle to splash down on his opponents. There's also Smackdown's R-Truth, who has a hip-hop vibe and kicks positivity, but in the ring is all business, using impressive spin moves and flying kicks. And don't forget the newest of the bunch, a 2nd generation star named Manu, who is the song of legendary Wild Samoan, Afa.

WWE Poll: Title Changes at Unforgiven?

With the Unforgiven Pay-Per-View, fans will experience not 1, not 2, but 3 of the new "Championship Scramble" match. Each match will feature 5 superstars from the respective brand, ECW, Raw and Smackdown, including that show's major champion. In one match, Raw's World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk defends against JBL, Kane, Rey Mysterio and Batista. In Smackdown's version, it will be WWE champion Triple H defending against Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Jeff Hardy and The Brian Kendrick. And for ECW, the current champion Mark Henry defends against Finlay, Chavo Guerrero, Matt Hardy and The Miz.

WWE Poll: Who Wins the 1st Scramble?

Unforgiven will see CM Punk's World Heavyweight title contested in a first of its kind match. The "Championship Scramble" concept match was first announced by Raw General Manager Mike Adamle. It will see a total of 5 wrestlers in the ring for 20 minutes. Whoever scores the final pinfall of the match before 20 minutes elapses, becomes the champ. So that gives Punk a tough task. He must outlast Batista, JBL, John Cena and Kane to retain his title.

With that said, it's time to weigh in on who you expect to take the match? Will it be John Cena finally regaining a major title? Will the Animal take back the title he lost to Edge and Undertaker? Wrestling Poll: Save a Superstar!

Last week the WWE decided to give the proverbial axe to 6 of its wrestlers and 1 veteran referee.

Here's a look at the six wrestlers cut:

Big Daddy V - Also known as "Viscera" and "Mabel" from Men on a Mission. A former Hardcore champ who was most recently on the ECW's roster and at one time was a #1 contender for the ECW title.

Braden Walker - Newer star on ECW who was undefeated and part of Teddy Long's new talent initiative.

Domino - A member of the Smackdown roster and at one time one half of the tag team champs with Deuce and manager Cherry.

Nunzio - A one time Cruiserweight champion and member of the FBI (Full Blooded Italians). Nunzio was seen on all three rosters, Raw, ECW and Smackdown.

James Curtis - More of amateur wrestler losing to various superstars. Most recently seen on ECW's show.

Shannon Moore - The punk rocker who saw plenty of time on Smackdown and ECW as a singles wrestler, protege of Matt Hardy, and tag team partner with Jimmy Wang Yang competing for the titles.

Wrestling Poll: CM Punk's MITB Plans

As of Wrestlemania 24 a new "Mr. Money in the Bank" was declared, as CM Punk won the annual Money in the Bank Ladder match. After outlasting several other competitors, then climbing the ladder in the center of the ring, Punk pulled down the coveted briefcase which he now owns. Inside that briefcase is an "anytime, anywhere" contract which Punk can cash in against the champ of his choosing. Most believe that refers to the ECW title, WWE title or World Heavyweight title.

WWE has done a great job of keeping fans wondering about when Punk will cash in and against who. He's thrown the idea out to both Edge and Randy Orton that he might cash in for the WWE or World Heavyweight title. He's still on the ECW roster for now, making one wonder if that's the title he wants. Despite some recent losses, Punk very nearly won the WWE King of the Ring tournament and will be in the upcoming WWE One Night Stand Pay Per View. In that match, Punk competes with 4 other stars in a Singapore Cane match to become #1 contender for the ECW title. The upcoming WWE draft on June 23 could give more of a clue about Punk's plans, should he move to Smackdown or Raw.

Wrestling Poll: WWE Heels

Wrestling fans it's time to let your opinion be seen once again. Right now the WWE has several heels causing mayhem and problems for fans, other wresters and themselves. There's Smackdown's Edge & Vickie Guerrero who continue to make life miserable for Undertaker and other members of the roster. Recently, Vickie took away Undertaker's title and banned his Triangle Choke submission hold. There's also Edge who is nicknamed the "ultimate opportunist", but took the easy way out by entering a battle royal at the last minute to earn his chance at the title.

Then there's the power-hungry, King and Raw General Manager, William Regal. Regal continues to show the WWE wrestlers and fans that he has ultimate control over what matches they see. He even stops them at his discretion, shutting the lights out. Last week he forced Mr. Kennedy and Triple H to wrestle against the entire ECW roster.

Let's not forget the other heels such as Randy Orton, Santino Marella and MVP, all who do their best to irritate fans, cheat through matches and attack opponents!

Poll Results: Fans Vote on WM24 Matches

WWE Fans have spoken about Wrestlemania 24 and the matches they are most excited to see. From the latest WWE Wrestling poll here at WWE Characters, 31% of fans who voted are ready for the big Triple Threat WWE title match featuring WWE's John Cena vs. Triple H vs. Randy Orton this Sunday. The WWE title is on the line and as of right now, it could be anyone's title after the big PPV ends, even a Money in the Bank winner...

Coming in second with 20% of the votes is the World Heavyweight match between Undertaker and
WWE Superstar Edge. Undertaker has never lost at Wrestlemania, while Edge is current champ and claims he's never lost to Taker. One of these two records might be gone after Wrestlemania, with either Undertaker wearing the World Heavyweight belt, or Edge stopping "the streak".

Thirdly, WWE fans are excited to see WWE Divas in Bunnymania, which features 2 Playboy WWE Divas, Maria & Ashley as they face the tough heel divas in The Glamazon Beth Phoenix and Melina. Vince McMahon told Larry King on CNN he isn't even sure what will go on in this match...Rapper Snoop Dogg is a guest Master of Ceremonies for the match, making you wonder just what his role will be in the match!
