Jerry Lawler Update Given in Michael Cole Interview Video

On Wednesday, Michael Cole appeared on the "Fox & Friends" TV show to discuss the Jerry Lawler collapse and heart attack incident on Monday Night Raw.  Cole revealed how quickly the various staff reacted to the incident, including his own quick reactions to mute his headset and call for help once Lawler had passed out.

Cole also made some other interesting notes during his interview, including the fact that at one point he heard Lawler snoring and thought it was an "angle" for the show.  He also was asked about the fact that Lawler had wrestled earlier in the show and if "The King" is too old to be doing that.  Cole noted that Lawler wrestlers 100 to 150 times a year for various promotions, and has passed all the various physical tests required to do so.  He said he loves what he does and has done it 42 years now.

The other good news is that Lawler is currently in stable condition and had a breathing tube removed.  Cole said millions and millions of fans worldwide have been showing an outpouring of concern and support towards Lawler as he looks towards his road to recovery from this scare.

Zack Ryder is WWE Internet Champion

That's right Broskis, Long Island Iced Z, Zack Ryder, is the official WWE Internet champion. Zack even has an official belt, seen in the "Z! True Long Island Story" episode #24 on YouTube.

In his latest YouTube video, Ryder shows off the hardware, but ultimately ends up throwing the belt away in the trash. Ryder calls the belt a joke, saying it's merely a kids replica championship belt with stickers on it. However, he brings out an even cooler looking version of it later on (seen here). Actually it looks pretty damn cool and wouldn't be a half bad idea if Ryder started bringing it to the ring. In fact, WWE may be on to something since they show multiple TV shows, including WWE Superstars, on the internet each week. Ryder could defend the belt on Superstars.

Speaking of Ryder, Triple H made him the official assistant to Smackdown GM Teddy Long on the show Friday night. Ryder didn't do too badly in his first night. He found a guy for Mark Henry to squash within a minute in the ring, and gave Ezekiel Jackson a handicap match against Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. Jackson lost the match to Rhodes by pinfall, which could be a sign of things to come for Rhodes.

As noted on Yahoo's recent writeup, Zack Ryder has certainly been doing well thanks to his YouTube show and Twitter following, as it has fans inspired and asking him to be shown more on TV. However, the WWE seems to be working on their use of social media to further develop the brand. With CM Punk and Zack Ryder's recent viral videos on YouTube, as well as public feuds by WWE superstars and divas on Twitter, this could get interesting.

WWE Holiday Gift Ideas 2010

With the holiday season now upon us, it's time to start shopping for gifts (if you haven't already)! For WWE fans, there's plenty of great items to both give and receive including tickets to live events, video games, DVD's, CD's and books. Let's check out some of the hot gifts you might want to ask for or give to a fan from the WWE Universe this holiday season.

Probably the hottest gifts will be the new DVD's and Blu-Rays related to John Cena. One is the recently released, The John Cena Experience, which includes some great exclusive behind-the-scenes footage in addition to 16 matches which define Cena's career. The other DVD or Blu-ray is of course the movie Legendary, which features Cena in a dramatic role about his kid brother who wants to be trained to be a state championship caliber wrestler. There's plenty of other WWE DVD's and Blu-Rays to opt for including the new Big Show movie "Knucklehead", or the soon-to-be-released DVD "WWE: Top 50 Superstars of All Time."

WWE fans who own the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 will thoroughly enjoy the latest installment in pro wrestling video games. That game is none other than Smackdown vs Raw 2011 which has a ton of great features allowing for the creation of your own superstars or divas, playing in story modes through seasons and just locking up for a variety of cool matches including the Royal Rumble, TLC, Falls Count Anywhere and Elimination Chamber.

There's a brand new book coming out which wrestling fans are sure to enjoy called "The WWE Championship: A Look Back at the Rich History of the WWE Championship" which takes a look at the complete history of the WWE Title and its respective owners (sorry Miz, it was published before you won it). Another book coming out soon (December 14th) will be the Goldust paperback called "Cross Rhodes: Goldust, Out of the Darkness." Fans of wrestling will enjoy this read from the Bizarre one. There's also the WWE Encyclopedia released just last year which includes over 350 pages, nearly 1,000 Superstars, and more than 1,500 images in its one-volume complete reference book for WWE fans!

It's hard to go wrong with these WWE items, but there's so many more to choose from. Scan even more hot WWE items here and find that perfect gift for the fans on your holiday shopping list!

iTunes now selling WWE PPV's

Fans of WWE wrestling finally have a way to enjoy WWE Pay-Per-Views without forking over $50 for a replay, going through illegal streaming websites, or waiting for the DVD/Blu-rays to hit shelves. Now iTunes is offering WWE PPV events in both standard and HD format for download.

See WWE PPV's on iTunes
icon

As of Wednesday, iTunes has three WWE Pay-Per-Views for sale from 2010: Over the Limit 2010 PPV, Fatal 4 Way PPV, and the Money in the Bank PPV. The costs are generally $17.99 for the HD versions and $12.99 to $14.99 for standard. In fact, Over the Limit costs $14.99 while the other two are $12.99.

The great thing is not just that the full PPV can be downloaded, but if fans want they can buy individual matches for $2.99 a piece. That's right, buy the Money in the Bank ladder matches to relive the excitement. Or buy John Cena vs Batista in the infamous "I Quit" match. As mentioned, it's only three PPV's available so far, but fans are already salivating at the possibilities. If both WWE and iTunes are smart they'll offer plenty more, because fans will want to be able to download and relive classic moments, such as WM's Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker rematch, to have the final match of HBK. Definitely liking this idea from WWE and going to pick up the Money in the Bank matches now to relive the action.

In addition to the PPV's, it also appears there's at least two full-length WWE DVD movies being offered right now with "The Rise & Fall of WCW" for $9.99 and "Ricky Steamboat: The Life Story of The Dragon" for $14.99.

Check out the iTunes WWE PPV downloads here!

Happy Birthday Vince McMahon!

Today August 24th, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is celebrating his 64th birthday. On tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw, Vince was given a grand in-ring celebration, D-Generation X style, including Vegas Showgirls, Cirque De Soleil performers, an Elvis impersonator and Big Dick Johnson jumping out of a cake to dance in a G-String. Vince McMahon was not entirely pleased by the joke, but later on he got his birthday wish when he got to score the winning pinfall over Randy Orton in a six man tag, No DQ match.

The Chairman has seen his share of good and bad times over the years with World Wrestling Entertainment, including run-ins with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley and D-Generation X. He's been killed on Raw multiple times, had plenty of practical jokes played on him, flirted with divas, been Punk'd into thinking Hornswoggle was his bastard son, and fired countless WWE employees. Here's a selection of some of the more memorable Vince McMahon YouTube videos to check out:

Vince Gets Rick Rolled - The catastrophe that went down during McMahon's Million Dollar Mania final segment on Raw.

An article at TVweek.com offers a little more insight into what video clips can be used:
