Smackdown Preview 01.11.08

Last week's Smackdown saw Rey Mysterio become the winner of the Beat the Clock tournament. Rey faced Edge in the final match of the evening, and thanks to a little help from Batista and Undertaker, he won his match in the quickest time. This came as a result of Taker and Batista getting screwed out of their chances earlier in the tournament, thanks to Edge, Ryder, Hawkins and Vickie. Rey will now have the opportunity to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Title at the Rumble. Undertaker and Batista are sure to be unhappy with the way things went down last week. Will they seek further revenge? Or will Vickie Guerrero place them in more matches to try to punish them? Also, will Edge and his proteges try to soften up Rey Mysterio prior to the Rumble?

Smackdown has also seen a breakdown or breakup in the relationship of Chuck Palumbo and Michelle McCool. On last week's show Palumbo blamed Michelle for their mixed tag team loss to Victoria and Kenny Dykstra. Chuck berated Michelle in the ring then rode off on his motorcycle, alone. Will the duo continue to be a couple or friends? And will Jamie Noble enter into the picture again?

Smackdown has a new commentator in JBL's absence as well. Johnathan Coachman will be joining Michael Cole at ringside again to call the matchs. Be sure to tune in to Smackdown at 8PM EST on CW network for all the action!
