WWE Superstars Results 08/12/10

WWE Superstars Results 08/12/10:

Raw's Michael Cole noted that we're just 72 hours away from Summerslam, on our way to the Staples Center in LA, California. Yoshi Tatsu made his way to the ring first for an opening tag match from Raw. Goldust was out next as Cole and Lawler talked Summerslam.

Yoshi Tatsu & Goldust vs. Jimmy & Jey Uso

Tamina led The Usos to the ring for the match. Late in the match, the action broke down as Yoshi went for a jump over the top rope out onto one of The Usos, but he moved away. Back in the ring, Goldust had control of Jey and was going for a reverse suplex. Tamina got up on the apron and momentarily distracted Goldust. Jey dropped off and then dropkicked Goldust hard. He tagged in Jimmy who hit the huge Splash off the corner on Goldust.

Winners: The Usos win via pinfall over Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu.

They showed highlights from Tuesday's episode of WWE NXT. Alex Riley had the winning time for the "Power of the Punch" which won him an appearance on Monday Night's Raw. Later in the night they announced the latest WWE Poll. Kaval, McGillicutty, Percy Watson, Husky Harris and Alex Riley were the top 5, as Lucky Cannon was eliminated. Matt Striker announced that next week there will be a double elimination for NXT, bringing the field down to just 3 rookies.

Chris Masters vs. Chavo Guerrero

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker were now on hand for the Smackdown match. Towards the end of the contest, Masters picked up Chavo suplex style to seat him on the corner. Masters and Chavo began fighting back and forth, with Masters climbing up to go for a superplex. Chavo blocked it, and was able to fight Masters off, dropping off the side of the ring to snap Masters against the top rope. With Masters down in the ring, Chavo went for and hit the Frogsplash. Chavo continues his recent winning streak.

Winner: Chavo Guerrero wins via pinfall over Chris Masters.

WWE Superstars returned with a promotional highlight reel video of the new Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler. Grisham and Striker discussed Raw and what's going on between Team WWE and Team Nexus. They reviewed the developments in the feud via highlights. Striker and Grisham ran down the matches for the Summerslam 2010 card which will include Kane vs Rey Mysterio for the World Championship, with Kane vowing to put Mysterio in a casket.

Kelly Kelly vs. Michelle McCool

Michelle came to the ring along with Layla and their NXT rookie, Kaval. Both cheered on Michelle as she punished and exploited an arm injury on Kelly during the match. Kelly made a comeback though, jumping on Michelle from the corner and then using multiple moves to take McCool down. Michelle went for a backbreaker but instead Kelly got her with the spinning headscissors throw.

Later, Michelle avoided Kelly in the corner causing Kelly to hit the corner. However, Kelly fought back and got up on Michelle's shoulders. Michelle blocked a move and dumped Kelly face first to the mat, then stalked her from behind. As Kelly finally started to get up, Michelle grabbed her and put her into the Faithbreaker for the win.

Kaval got in the ring with his diva mentors. Team LayCool put together their two halves of a Womens Championship belt and held them up in celebration after the match.

Winner: Michelle McCool wins via pinfall over Kelly Kelly.
