WWE Releases Melina, Kozlov, Masters, DH Smith & Gail Kim

WWE made several big cuts on Friday to the rosters of Raw, Smackdown, Superstars and NXT. The latest to be released from their duties with the company and wished well in future endeavors: Vladimir Kozlov, Chris Masters, Melina, Gail Kim and DH Smith.

While none of those released were in pursuit of any major championship gold, it seems Kozlov and Masters were semi-important in current roles. Masters had seemed to be on the upswing with victories over the likes of Drew McIntyre, Tyler Reks and Jack Swagger. It may have been that WWE was trying to audition Masters to see if the fans would get behind him enough. Masters just recently lost via submission to Jack Swagger on Superstars this past week.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Kozlov had two victories this past week. On NXT he defeated JTG, and then on Superstars he defeated Primo. Quite a way to go out for the Moscow Mauler, who is a former tag champion. He was involved in a mini-feud with JTG on NXT, and was a former pro mentor. Apparently, WWE had no more use for the big man, which means he'll probably wind up in TNA with the others.

Gail Kim, Melina and DH Smith. There's not much to be said of them right now as WWE just wasn't using them much at all. Every once in a while they'd show up in a match, but weren't part of any interesting stories or plots. All of these released superstars and divas were title holders at one point during their careers though, and are likely to show up with TNA at some point.

Best of luck to all five competitors with their future work, because once again WWE's loss is TNA's gain!

The good news is there are still plenty of WWE Superstars and Divas working. One of which is Maryse, as seen in her latest photo shoot video (HOT)!

WWE Superstars Results 08/04/11

WWE Superstars Results 08/04/11:

After the pyro finished exploding to start the show, commentator Jack Korpela was on hand, saying Summerslam is less than two weeks away and there's two legit WWE Champions. Alicia Fox was introduced to the start the show as Korpela and Striker talked over Summerslam. Striker was looking sweaty, potentially from his match on NXT.

Kaitlyn vs. Alicia Fox

As the match started, Striker noted that Beth Phoenix is now the #1 contender for the Divas Championship. Alicia took control early on with a headlock, but Kaitlyn escaped and put a headscissors on Alicia for a bit. Kaitlyn was able to pick up Alicia with one arm and sat her on the corner. However, Alicia jumped off the corner and took Kaitlyn down to gain control. Striker and Korpela talked over Kaitlyn's assets and flaws.

Kaitlyn made a late comeback with several takedowns including a dropkick takedown for a near fall. She worked on Alicia more in the corner. Kaitlyn botched a move near the ropes with Alicia able to recover and kick her in the gut. She followed with the scissors kick to get the win.

Winner: Alicia Fox wins via pinfall over Kaitlyn.

Pat Silva vs. Brodus Clay

Brodus Clay, former bodyguard and rookie for Alberto Del Rio, resurfaced in a match tonight against an amateur wrestler. Korpela said Clay hasn't been seen since he was busted open at Extreme Rules 2011 PPV.

Clay had an elbow drop on Silva for the pinfall but lifted up at 2. He followed up by throwing Silva backwards against the ropes, then sent him against the ropes for a "rhino-like headbutt" to the man's gut. He followed with a huge splash in the corner, then came from off the ropes to hit a flying splash on Silva. Korpela called it "The Fall of Humanity." Brodus with the easy win. Striker said this is the future of the WWE.

Winner: Brodus Clay wins via pinfall over Pat Silva.

Josh Matthews was now on hand to talk about WWE.com's Summerslam swimsuit pics. Fans can see WWE Divas past and present including Kelly, Stacy, Lita, Maryse, Trish and Eve.

Vladimir Kozlov vs. Primo

Stanford talked about how Primo used to be part of DZP with Zack Ryder for a bit. He and Matthews talked about how Kozlov and Primo are proving they can go out on their own without partners. Before this match could start, JTG arrived out to ringside. Stanford talked about how Kozlov and JTG fought on NXT this past Tuesday with Kozlov getting the win. JTG joined Matthews and Stanford on commentary.

JTG talked about how Stanford is more gangsta than Matthews because he rapped on the True Long Island Story with Zack Ryder. During the match, Kozlov picked up Primo and put him on the corner to kick him. He caught Primo and prepared for a running slam, but Primo slipped off and took Kozlov down. Scott Stanford brought up Coolio to JTG as "the original gangsta." JTG corrected Stanford that he's more gangsta than Coolio.

Primo went for a running move on Kozlov in the corner, but Koz moved out of the way so Primo hit the corner. Moments later, Kozlov used his headbutts to Primo's chest. Primo kicked Kozlov in the face as he charged him in the corner. Primo jumped off the corner for an axe handle, but Kozlov batted him down from the air, then took the pinfall. JTG shook his head about it and he had some words with Kozlov but never got out of his seat to get in the ring.

Winner: Vladimor Kozlov wins via pinfall over Primo.

They showed the Raw Rebound. It featured the confrontation between CM Punk and COO Triple H in the ring as well as the later in-ring meeting with Triple H and John Cena. Triple H told Cena he won't strip him of the championship, because his claim is legit. CM Punk arrived out to interject. Punk asked if Triple H was going to strip him of his title he rightfully won at MITB PPV. Triple H said neither man will get stripped of their title, they'll settle it one-on-one in a match at Summerslam. The match will determine the undisputed WWE Champion. Scott Stanford reviewed the announced matches for Summerslam so far including the two big championship bouts.

Jack Swagger made his ring entrance for the main event right before Superstars took a break for ads.

Chris Masters vs. Jack Swagger

Early on, Swagger put on several submission holds to try to get the early advantage. Masters tried to power out, only to get slammed down to the mat. Later on, Masters ducked two clothesline attempts and then took Swagger down with a flying elbow. He followed with a suplex for a near fall. Swagger stayed in control after hitting a huge leg drop and had yet another pinfall attempt.

Masters went for a powerslam with Swagger on his shoulder, but Jack slipped off and shoved Chris into the corner hard. He followed with his running Vader bomb for a near fall. Stanford sent it to break saying they had a "real humdinger" going on for Superstars tonight.

After the break, Swagger was in control as he worked on Masters' lower back. Masters made a comeback from against the ropes and then the two traded punches before Masters rammed Swagger into the corner. Masters took down Swagger with a big clothesline, but Swagger responded by clipping Chris' leg and then booted him down. Swagger had a near fall, and then in frustration wrapped the scissor lock around Masters' midsection. Swagger used the rope for some leverage so the ref counted him until Jack broke it off.

Swagger rushed at Masters who sidestepped him and then put on the Masterlock. Swagger was able to escape near the ropes, so Masters followed with a big slam and then a knee to the face when Jack ran at him. Masters jumped from the corner to take down Swagger with a shoulder tackle. After a Spinebuster, Masters had yet another near fall. Later still, Swagger went for the Vader Bomb, but Masters put his knees up to block. Masters tried to lock on the Masterlock from there, but Swagger backed him into the corner hard. Swagger put on the Ankle Lock to get Masters to finally tap out.

Winner: Jack Swagger wins by submission over Chris Masters.

Matthews reviewed the highlights of the match including how Swagger won. Swagger did his run around the ring and gloated about the win. Scott Stanford signed off for the Raw crew for this episode of Superstars with Summerslam approaching.

Gail Kim & Natalya vs. Maryse & Melina

A Raw divas tag match was the second contest of the night. During the match, Gail Kim hit a huge crossbody on Melina for the near fall. Maryse tried to come in to help but Gail took her out. Moments later, Melina dropped Gail against the top rope then attacked her. Melina kept up the attack.

The heels started a doubleteam attack on Gail to wear her down as Natalya could only watch from the apron. Natalya got the crowd to do a bit of a "Gail" chant. Maryse gave the ref her hand to the face when he tried to warn her at one point.

Later in the match, Natalya finally got the tag in and started cleaning house, taking down the heels. All four divas got involved towards the end, with Natalya and Maryse remaining to fight in the ring. Natalya was able to grab Maryse and get her into the Sharpshooter, making Maryse tap.

Zack Ryder arrived out to the ring for the main event match. He got on the mic to talk about how everyone got Wrestlemania spotlight except him. He said it's all good because he's an internet star who's got his own YouTube show. He said next he'll make Great Khali his personal punching bag.

The Great Khali vs. Zack Ryder

Stanford reminded fans that Khali won a Lumberjack battle royal before Wrestlemania 27. Ryder went for a boot kick, but Khali grabbed his leg and shoved him down. He prepared for punches on Ryder in a corner, but the ref stopped him. Ryder begged for Khali's mercy, then tried to punch him before running out of the ring.

Ryder got on the apron and was distracted by fans, so Khali grabbed him and tossed him in the ring. Khali went to work in the corners with a few huge chest chops. Ryder finally hit a dropkick to take out Khali's legs and ground him for the attack.

Khali was back to his feet very soon though and managed to grab Ryder for the Punjabi Plunge to finish it. Khali danced in the ring with Singh to entertain the crowd as Scott Stanford signed off.

WWE Superstars Results 03/24/11

WWE Superstars Results 3/24/11:

Here are the quick results for Thursday night's episode of WWE Superstars.

Yoshi Tatsu & The Great Khali defeated The Uso's after a Punjabi Plunge/Khali Bomb

Daniel Bryan & Gail Kim defeat Tyson Kidd & Melina after Bryan made Kidd tap out in the LeBell lock. Bryan botched his backflip counter from the top rope.

Chris Masters defeat Tyler Reks. Tyler controlled the majority of the match but Masters ended up getting the win following the Master Lock. Tyler worked on Masters' leg throughout.

Analysis: Not much in the first two matches that will go anywhere. If nothing else this seems to continue Chris Masters' push for something. At this point, Masters seems to deserve a spot at Wrestlemania 27, possibly the dark match prior to the main card?

Stanford and Matthews talked about the Cole vs Lawler match, then kicked it to the Raw Rebound. It showed Monday's Raw where Michael Cole brought out JBL as his special guest referee for the WM27 match. However, before JBL could sign the contract to be Cole's referee, Stone Cold Steve Austin interrupted and came to the ring. He ended up hitting a Stone Cold Stunner on JBL to knock him down and clear Cole out of the ring. Austin signed the match contract to be special guest referee, before heading over to dump a can or two of beer on Michael Cole's head at ringside.

Vladimir Kozlov vs. Zack Ryder

Tamina accompanied Santino and Kozlov to the ring to support Kozlov during the Superstars match. Primo was also ringside for Ryder.

Late in this one, Ryder was on the side apron outside the ropes. Kozlov went over and threw him into the ring, then hit a huge boot to send him into the corner. He picked up Ryder on his shoulder for a powerslam. Primo got on the apron to distract, so Santino rushed over and yanked him off the apron. That distracted Kozlov who turned to see what was going on. Ryder slipped off his shoulder then came back to hit the Rough Ryder, to take down Kozlov for the win.

Winner: Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Vladimir Kozlov.

Great Khali, Mark Henry & Natalya vs. William Regal, Tyson Kidd & Melina

Post-match, Mark Henry hit a huge splash on Kidd and then Natalya put the Sharpshooter on him before leaving the ring.

Is Chris Masters heading to Wrestlemania 27?

WWE Smackdown star Chris Masters has been on a roll lately, albeit on the WWE Superstars program and not his own. With three straight victories, including two over Tyler Reks, Masters surely should be booked for a Wrestlemania 27 match.

Masters' most recent win came against Curt Hawkins on the 03/03/11 episode of Superstars, using the Masterlock to render Hawkins unconscious. Prior to that, Masters had two big wins over one of Smackdown's fiercest competitors, Tyler Reks. Reks extracted some revenge on last night's WWE Superstars with an attack following Masters' win.

It seems that maybe these two should be in a one-on-one match at Mania, even if it's the dark match. They could also be good picks for the Wrestlemania 27 Money in the Bank ladder match. Either way, Masters has proven his worth and talent in recent weeks, deserving a trip to the WWE's big Pay-Per-View in April.

Will Masters be given a WM27 spotlight, or will he need to do more to earn it?

He followed with the big slam and riled the crowd up, before missing on the Lie Detector. Regal tried for a Pedigree style move, but Truth blocked it so Regal couldn't pick him up. Truth hit his other finisher the "What's Up" to DDT Regal down for the winning pin.

Winner: R-Truth wins via pinfall over William Regal.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Zack Ryder & Primo

Josh Matthews noted how Santino and Kozlov are re-focused and not complaining as they try to get back into the tag title picture. Early on, Primo salpped down Santino then kicked and punched away on him. However, Kozlov and Santino managed to toss both Primo and Ryder out of the ring right before a commercial break.

After break, Primo had a side headlock on Kozlov. He tried to do a move jumping off the side ropes, but Kozlov caught Primo and tossed him across the ring. Kozlov missed on a corner move though with Primo making the tag to Ryder. Ryder hit a huge missile dropkick to ground Kozlov and take control.

Primo punched Santino off the apron to prevent Kozlov from tagging out. However, Kozlov managed to escape Ryder. Santino barely got to the apron in time for the tag in. He came in with momentum. All four guys got involved though. Primo got tossed out of the ring. Ryder rushed over to dump Kozlov out too. Ryder turned and saw Santino there so he went for the Rough Ryder. Santino did his drop down split, so Ryder hit the mat. As Ryder got up, Santino was ready with the Cobra and struck!

Winners: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov win via pinfall over Zack Ryder & Primo.

WWE Superstars returned with Smackdown's team of Striker and Korpela. Jack introduced the video interview of Shawn Michaels dissecting the Triple H vs The Undertaker match. Michaels talked about his mixed emotions, being happy to see his friend end the streak, but angry at himself for not being able to get the job done.

They showed footage from last Friday's press conference with Sin Cara in Mexico City. Sin Cara is the latest lucha libre wrestler to sign on with WWE.

Chris Masters vs. Curt Hawkins

Korpela said Masters is one of the hottest superstars in WWE right now. Korpela said Masters has now figured out how to beat Tyler Reks twice and he could get onto the Wrestlemania 27 card. Striker said it's already a stacked card.

Late in the match, Masters started to gain momentum as he jumped off the corner and hit a shoulder block to take down Hawkins for the near fall. Hawkins started to battle back to gain control though. Hawkins punched Masters several times to stun him, then rushed back against the ropes. As he came at Masters with the strike attack, Masters caught him by the arm, and then locked him into the Masterlock. Hawkins soon was out of commission with the ref calling for the bell.

Post-match, Tyler Reks rushed to the ring and attacked Masters, ultimately hitting the Burning Hammer to smash Masters face-first to the mat!

Winner: Chris Masters wins via submission over Curt Hawkins.

Superstars was back to show the final lines of John Cena's rap dis to The Rock on WWE Raw. Striker and Korpela discussed this intense war of words. They rolled the footage of The Rock responding to Cena this past Monday with his mock of Cena in baseball cap and chain. Rock appeared via satellite rather than live at the Buffalo arena. It ended with Rock doing some rap lines of his own, calling Cena a "Yabba Dabba bitch" and finishing with "You will smell what The Rock is cooking."

The show ended with the end of Rock's response to John Cena, rather than a main event match like the usual format is.

Late in this match, Reks went for the neckbreaker with Masters able to elude his grasp and shove Reks to the ropes. Reks came back and Masters hit a big Spinebuster on him for the near pinfall. Masters got on the corner with Reks going after him. Chris was able to fight Reks off and punch him down, then jump off the corner at him. He followed with an attempted Masterlock. Santino rolled out of harm's way, then got to his feet to rev up his Cobra punch. Kidd got up and the Cobra struck. Santino grabbed the pinfall win, then celebrated with Tamina in the ring.

Winner: Santino Marella wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd.

Wrestlemania promo video revealed the big event is just 38 days away!

Josh Matthews introduced the Raw Rebound which covered the 2 21 11 reveal. They showed the footage of Undertaker's arrival on WWE Raw. His in-ring appearance was interrupted by another return though, Triple H. Neither of the superstars spoke any words, but merely looked at the Wrestlemania banner hanging from the ceiling. They each gave one another a signal implying a possible match at Wrestlemania 27.

The United States Champion, Daniel Bryan, arrived to the ring for the main event matchup. Scott Stanford said Maryse will be ringside as a bonus.

Daniel Bryan vs Ted Dibiase

Maryse accompanied Dibiase to the ring but she seemed to give him the hand, wanting nothing to do with Dibiase. Bryan smirked about it in the ring. Stanford and Matthews took a look at footage of the Khali kiss cam showing Maryse dissing Dibiase by not kissing him and smooching with Yoshi Tatsu instead.

Bryan had momentum in the late stages of the match with a near fall. Dibiase barely kicked out, then went for Dream Street. Bryan countered by running forward off the corner area to turn it into a pinfall. Moments later, Dibiase rushed at Bryan near the ropes, with Bryan able to duck down and flip Dibiase over the top rope. Bryan followed with the suicide dive through the ropes to crash into Dibiase. From there, he tossed Ted in the ring and climbed the corner, then went for a move. Dibiase ran under him and Bryan landed on his feet. The two had an encounter in the corner, with Bryan able to escape, but he got thrown across the ring by Dibiase.

As the two guys recovered, Yoshi Tatsu arrived down the ramp in a suit with flowers behind his back. He walked over to Maryse and presented the flowers to her. She took them and smiled saying thank you. Yoshi put his lips foward smooch-style. Dibiase saw all this and ducked through the ropes asking "What are you doing?" Maryse put her hand in Yoshi's face to refuse the kiss, then smashed the bouquet into Dibiase's face. He feel back and Bryan knocked him down to put the LeBell Lock on for the victory. Maryse walked up the ramp and turned around as she heard Dibiase had lost. She went backstage laughing about it all.

WWE Superstars Results 02/17/11

WWE Superstars Results 02/17/11:

Jack Korpela and Matt Striker of Smackdown kicked off Superstars talking about Elimination Chamber coming up. Striker mentioned that they will show the replay (shortened version) of The Rock appearing on Raw this past Monday. Chris Masters arrived out for the first match.

Chris Masters vs. Tyler Reks

Reks used the ref as a shielf early on and managed to get in a kick on Masters. Masters left the ring for a bit then got back in to slam Reks to the mat. He went for the Masterlock early, but Reks escaped and regained control of the match.

Later in the match, Masters hit a huge Spinebuster up in the air to drive Reks to the mat for a near fall. Chris rammed Reks into the corner, but then got elbowed in the face. Reks jumped off the corner at Masters with a double axe handle, but Masters avoided it. He quickly locked the Masterlock on Reks and held it tight. Eventually, the ref called for the bell as Reks had passed out.

Winner: Chris Masters wins via submission over Tyler Reks.

The official theme song for WWE's 2011 Elimination Chamber PPV is "Ignition" by TobyMac. Available now on iTunes.

Yoshi Tatsu & DH Smith vs. The Usos

The Raw commentators, Josh Matthews and Scott Stanford, were now there for the latest matches. This match was still in progress after a commercial break. Superstars returned with one of the Usos keeping Yoshi down in a headlock. The Usos worked the doubleteam effectively and they kept Yoshi away from the tag.

Yoshi managed to get to his feet after another submission headlock hold. He rammed the Uso brother to the corner, but got shoved away. Yoshi came back with a spinning kick to take down the Uso. The Uso made a tag out just as Yoshi stretched over to tag Smith in.

Smith arrived in on fire and had momentum. After a leg drop he had the near fall. Smith went for a seated Powerbomb. The other Uso rushed in to break up the pinfall. Yoshi came in to make it a foursome in the ring. Yoshi got knocked down near the apron, so the ref was distracted checking on him. The Usos managed to make a switch during that. The one in the ring threw Smith shoulder first into the ringpost, then rolled him up for the winning pinfall.

Winners: The Usos win via pinfall over DH Smith and Yoshi Tatsu.

They showed the abbreviated replay of The Rock's return to Monday Night Raw. Rock will be the official host of Wrestlemania 27 in Atlanta, GA. He also made sure to tell the fans he wasn't back for the money or a movie promotion but because of the fans. Rock gave his word "I am never, ever, going away." He also had some choice words for current WWE Superstar John Cena. Rock mentioned he looks forward to seeing The Miz and Cena at Mania in several weeks.

After the replay, Josh Matthews directed fans to follow rock at his Twitter (twitter.com/therock) or Like his Facebook at facebook.com/DwayneJohnson.

The WWE Tag Team Champions, Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov, arrived to the ring along with Santino's girlfriend, Tamina.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Zack Ryder & Primo

Santino threatened the Cobra on Ryder early, so Ryder backed off and ducked out under the ropes. Ryder tried to toss Santino against the ropes, but Marella shoulder blocked him down. Ryder soon took control after that and tagged Primo in for a move off the top rope. Moments later, Ryder missed on a move from the ropes and hit Primo. Santino and Kozlov did a few tag ins and out. Ryder managed to counter a Santino move and backdropped him. Primo tagged in again and had a near fall.

WWE NXT Results 02/08/11

WWE NXT Results from Green Bay, WI:

After a highlight video showing recaps of the past weeks of NXT Season 4, Striker had the four rookies ready for an opening challenge. It was "Rock Em, Sock Em Joust." The rookies had to try to knock their opponent off a podium with the Gladiator joust stick.

First up was Bateman vs Curtis. Bateman managed to win the first round although Curtis shoved him after falling off. Next up, Brodus Clay got himself DQ'd by shoving Saxton off. Clay got on the mic to say that this contest isn't made for someone his size, and he would make a statement in the ring later on.

In the finals, Saxton and Bateman both fell off their podiums. Originally, Saxton was called the winner, but a reply showed his foot touched the ground first. They had a re-do, and this time around Saxton was the clear cut winner. He got 2 immunity points for that. That makes it Curtis with 3 points, Bateman and Saxton with 2 each.

Byron Saxton vs. Derrick Bateman

Masters got the crowd going with a "turd" chant for Ziggler during the match. Bateman got inspired, then hit a back drop suplex on Saxton. He kicked Saxton in the chest and later hit a corner dropkick on him. In the close, Saxton went for a small package on Bateman. Bateman came back by using Daniel Bryan's LeBell Lock to force Saxton to tap out.

Winner: Derrick Bateman wins via submission over Byron Saxton.

The next NXT competition was a WWE Shop Challenge in the spirit of Price is Right. The rookies would have to guess a suggested retail price of each WWE merchandise item. NXT Season 3 rookies AJ and Naomi were special helpers for the challenge. The items they had to guess included the Top 50 Superstars of All-Time, WWE Kids Magazine, World Heavyweight Replica belt and the WWE Championship History Book. Brodus Clay won the challenge and got 3 immunity points for it, tying with Curtis for the most points.

Backstage, Truth had a talk with Johnny Curtis. Truth said Curtis needs to ignore all the trash talk he's been hearing from the other guys saying Truth doesn't like Curtis. They hugged and Truth left so Curtis could get ready for the match.

Johnny Curtis vs. Brodus Clay

As the match was starting, Josh Matthews said he just got a note saying he gets to decide who gets immunity tonight. Dolph Ziggler got up and did a "Milwaukee, Wisconsin, what's up?!" taunt, drawing boos from the crowd.

Truth and Rodriguez were on the apron to coach the rookies. Early on, Brodus took control and tossed Curtis out through the ropes. Curtis managed to gain some control back in the ring, booting Clay in the face as he rushed at him in the corner. Clay regained control and dropped Curtis gut-first on the top rope.

Later in the match, Clay did a standing side headlock on Curtis. Curtis started to punch his way out but Clay locked the hold on again. The crowd started up a "turd" chant to get Ziggler, so Ziggler asked if they were doing a "nerd" chant for Daniel Bryan. Ziggler threatened to leave and then went backstage but returned a few moments later.

Curtis landed a leg drop over the top rope on Clay for a near fall. Curtis managed to get a huge dropkick from the corner, but Clay rolled over and got out to the apron to avoid a pinfall. Clay snapped Curtis by his neck across the top rope. Clay finished Curtis with a huge powerslam for the victory. Rodriguez got i nthe ring to announce Clay as the winner.

Winner: Brodus Clay wins via pinfall over Johnny Curtis.

Matt Striker told the pros up on the stage to huddle up and get to the voting, because elimination is coming up.

Striker took a poll of the crowd to determine who would get immunity, Clay or Curtis. They gave Curtis more cheers, so Striker said he could fall back in line. Striker had them roll through the NXT rookie pictures up on the big screen and it stopped on Byron Saxton.

Striker tried to get some closing comments from Byron, who seemed choked up. He composed himself and got on the mic saying he didn't understand how the WWE Universe could make this decision. He said he forgives them then, because one day that little birdie known as "common sense" will come back home and everything will be "A-OK." Saxton started up the ramp, but Ziggler walked down and asked what he was smiling about. Ziggler screamed at him that he was disgusted by him. Ziggler told him to get out now. Chris Masters taunted on the mic saying if Saxton was a real man he'd punch Ziggler now. Saxton stayed in place and smirked at Ziggler then pointed at him as NXT went off the air. The pro's up on stage looked confused as to what Saxton was doing.

However, Brodus Clay ended the show by taking out all of his NXT competitors in the ring then letting out several yells.

Scott Stanford mentioned that WWE.com is counting down the Top 25 matches of 2010. He asked fans to tell WWE which they agree and disagree with.

David Hart Smith vs. William Regal

Stanford said Smith is looking to make it three straight wins as he's beaten Tyson Kidd and Zack Ryder in the past few weeks on Superstars. Stanford brought up that Regal wrestled Davey Boy Smith back at Halloween Havoc 1993. Matthews mentioned that Stanford's had more partners than anyone so far on commentary.

As Matthews made jokes about Stanford turning CM Punk over to the darkside, the match went forth. Smith had a shoulder take down during the match for a near fall. He had another shoulder tackle on the outside to bring down Regal right before a commercial break. When Superstars returned, Regal was taking control of Smith in the ring working on his left leg.

Jack Korbela and Matt Striker were on hand for Smackdown commentary. They introduced the Raw Rebound which covered the events from Raw with CM Punk, The Nexus (minus Barrett) and John Cena. Later on, Cena got to the ring to call out Punk, but Nexus showed up, without Barrett. Otunga said Nexus is under new management now. He offered Cena a truce, but Cena wouldn't go for it and told Otunga to leave the ring. Nexus appeared to be heading backstage, but then they turned around, stormed the ring and beat down Cena. Otunga left a Nexus armband laying next to Cena. Nexus headed up the ramp and CM Punk came out from backstage. He walked through Nexus and got in the ring to hit the GTS on Cena. Punk got a steel chair and almost bashed Cena with it. Instead he sat in the chair, waited a few moments, then put on the Nexus armband. Punk saluted Nexus on the ramp to close out Raw.

The Masterpiece Chris Masters made his entrance to the ring for the main event.

Chris Masters vs. Tyler Reks

Tyler Reks made his entrance to the ring next. Masters had an early takedown with a side headlock on Reks. Reks got to his feet and backed Masters to the corner then rammed him in the gut. Striker asked his new commentary pal Korbela why he does pushups before coming out for commentary. Korbela said anything to work out the jitters prior to doing commentary. Moments later, Chris Masters clotheslined Reks out over the top rope to the outside. Masters brought Reks onto the side corner area of the apron and put on the Masterlock. Unfortunately, he couldn't legally use the move there. Masters broke the hold per the ref and Reks yanked Masters arm hard against the corner. Masters fell to the floor before a commercial break.

After break, Reks continued working on Masters left arm injury. Masters started to fight back but got smashed down by Reks for a near fall. Korbela said Reks is hoping to be one of the competitors in the 2011 Royal Rumble in Boston, MA. Striker said guys will be jockeying for position in the coming weeks.

Masters started to pound away on Reks on the outside, then threw Reks back in. Reks charged at Masters in the ring, but Masters got him with a Samoan Drop. Masters used a one arm slam, then prepared for the Masterlock. His left shoulder was too injured though so he couldn't hook it. Reks got out and Masters countered with a backslide pinfall attempt.

In the closing moments, Masters was in control and charged at Reks in the corner. Reks avoided him and Masters hit shoulder first. Reks put him up for the Burning Hammer to finish Masters off.

They sent it to the ring for host Matt Striker to introduce the Season 4 NXT rookies: Connor O'Brian, Jacob Novak, Johnny Curtis, Brodus Clay, Derrick Bateman and Byron Saxton. Matt Striker discussed the competition terms again, and congratulated Jacob Novak for winning the first competition last week, "Capture the Flag."

Tonight's first competition would be a karaoke challenge, with the live crowd as judges. Each superstar randomly chose a card from Striker which had the entrance theme for a WWE Superstar. O'Brian went first and sounded horrible, with his pro Del Rio standing up on the stage and looking disgusted. Derrick Bateman had to do The Miz's theme song but couldn't. Jacob Novak tried to do his own pro, Dolph Ziggler's theme song. Brodus Clay had to sing Cody Rhodes' theme song. Johnny Curtis got Orton's theme, which got a pop from the crowd, but he didn't do so well either. Byron Saxton got to go last, and got Shawn Michaels' theme song. Even though he mixed up the words the crowd gave him a decent amount of applause. Based on crowd response, Byron Saxton won the competition.

They returned with an outside shot of The Cajundome, then launched a video package on NXT Season 4 Rookie Jacob Novak. He talked about all the sports he played as a youngster, and said he's destined to dominate. Novak compared himself to current WWE Superstar, Jack Swagger.

Byron Saxton & Chris Masters vs. Brodus Clay & Ted Dibiase

As Masters and Saxton arrived to the ring, parts of the obstacle course were seen on the ramp and outside the ring. Maryse accompanied Dibiase and Clay to the ring.

Early on, Brodus shoved Saxton down to the mat, causing Saxton to back out under the ropes for a timeout. After another shove, Saxton taunted Clay then tagged in Masters. Brodus had some power offense against Masters, but the pro made his comeback, avoiding Clay on a corner charge. Masters tried to slap on the Masterlock, but Dibiase rushed in to break things up. Brodus kept dominating Masters, then tagged in Dibiase before a commercial break.

Masters continued to get dominated by Dibiase and Clay, with Saxton just watching from the apron as his pro was punished. Saxton finally got in, but against Brodus Clay. Saxton was able to elbow his way out of a charging Clay in the corner. Saxton tried to jump from the corner with Clay catching him in the bear hug, then slamming him hard to the mat. Masters tagged in and missed on a big knee drop. Saxton got away to tag in Masters who came in with a lot of offense against Dibiase. Clay tried to make a save, but Masters moved and Clay dropped on Dibiase instead. Masters prepared for the Masterlock, but Saxton slapped his back cockily from behind. Saxton told Masters it was his time now. He tried to take control of the match, but Dibiase got him with Dream Street to win it.

Winners: Ted Dibiase and Brodus Clay win via pinfall over Chris Masters and Byron Saxton.

Daniel Bryan walked in on his rookie Derrick Bateman in the locker room backstage. He talked to him about a submission move to use against Alberto Del Rio tonight. Bateman got a little too into the submission move attempt and started going wild yelling "Submission Wrestling" until Bryan kicked him in the face with his free foot. Bryan said it might have been a little too much too soon, then wished him luck in his match.

Time for the next competition, the Obstacle Course. Saxton and Novak each have 1 immunity point. The winner of the obstacle course will get 2 immunity points due to the degree of difficulty.

Here's each of the rookie's times:

Jacob Novak 37.9 seconds
Byron Saxton 1:02 minutes, seconds
Conor O'Brian 42.7 seconds
Derrick Bateman 35.7 seconds
Johnny Curtis 34.8 seconds - Curtis was DQ'd for falling off the balance beam*
Brodus Clay disqualified

Saxton was still hurt after getting hit by Dream Street so it took him over a minute to do the course. Someone was yelling "come on Rat boy" at Conor O'Brian as he tried to complete the course.

*Due to earlier confusion by the refs, the senior official gave Johnny Curtis another shot at the obstacle course after Brodus Clay had gone. Johnny Curtis got 31.4 seconds on his second attempt to earn 2 immunity points.

They showed a video package about rookie Johnny Curtis and how he started wrestling training outside in the woods in a ring when he was younger. Curtis said in 2005 his close friend was struck in an accident and killed. Curtis said he wears dog tags on his tights as a remembrance of his deceased friend.

They showed the Raw Rebound which covered the 2010 Slammy Awards. Winners included CM Punk, Michael Cole, Pee Wee Herman, LayCool and John Cena as Superstar of the Year. Wade Barrett came out and took his Slammy Award. Barrett called out Cena to the ring and officially re-hired him. Barrett said he was re-hired on two conditions, that he agrees to go one-on-one tonight against David Otunga, and that he goes one-on-one with him (Barrett) at TLC in a Chairs Match. Barrett and Nexus gave Cena a beatdown in the ring, including bashing a chair down on Cena. Later on that night, Cena fought Otunga in the main event. Barrett sent all the Nexus guys backstage, to leave Otunga alone for the match, just like Otunga had them do to Wade last week with Cena in the ring. Cena won the match by the STF, and continually bashed Otunga with a chair, showing Barrett what may happen to him Sunday.

Backstage, Jacob Novak walked in and shook Vickie's hand, saying how beautiful she was in person. Novak started to compliment Vickie and asked for some advice when Ziggler came walking in. He made sure Novak knew Vickie is his girlfriend. Ziggler asked Vickie to give them some alone time to talk. Vickie said bye to Novak and walked out. Ziggler asked Novak what was going on, and then told Novak to go find a quiet place to watch the main event. Novak said "sure thing boss" and walked off.

Ricardo Rodriguez was introduced in the ring, then did the introduction for Alberto Del Rio for the main event.

Derrick Bateman vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio got the early advantage with a headlock on Bateman. Bateman tried to elbow out, but Del Rio knocked him down then punched away on him some. Grisham noted that Del Rio is likely preparing for Sunday's match against Mysterio at TLC PPV. Del Rio slammed Bateman back for a near fall. Daniel Bryan cheered on his rookie from the apron, while Brian O'Conor was ringside to support his pro, Del Rio.

Bateman got some momentum with a running neckbreaker, but couldn't capture the pinfall on Del Rio. He went for a dropkick in the corner, but Del Rio moved out of the way. Del Rio followed by tossing Bateman shoulder first into the corner. From there, Del Rio locked in the cross armbreaker submission to make Bateman quickly tap out. Daniel Bryan got in the ring to confront Del Rio and check on Bateman.

Ricardo Rodriguez was yelling in celebration outside the ring. Del Rio celebrated up on the corner, then his rookie O'Brian held his arm up as NXT ended.

Stanford and Lawler talked about how there looks to be trouble in the Hart Dynasty following what happened on Raw weeks ago where they lost to Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes. Stanford talked about how this must be affecting Natalya as she tries to capture the divas title.

Tyson went for a Sharpshooter early on, but Ryder managed to crawl over to the bottom ropes. Things continued after a commercial break. Kidd managed to trip Ryder onto the bottom rope, then jumped over the top rope to hit a leg drop on him. As Kidd was standing up outside the ring, DH Smith rushed down to ringside. He began to argue with Kidd who told him to get out of there. Natalya rushed down to try to smooth things out but to no avail. Ryder moved as Kidd went for a springboard move, then rushed back to hit the Rough Ryder.

Natalya sent Smith backstage then went into the ring to try to comfort Kidd about the loss.

Winner: Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd.

MVP vs. Curt Hawkins

Matt Striker and Todd Grisham of Smackdown took over the commentary duties now. They talked about how Smackdown has Bragging Rights after the big PPV victory. Striker mentioned how Hawkins is arrogant and acts like he's better than the rest of the roster yet only has been in the WWE for a few "minutes" really.

In the late stages of this one, Hawkins knocked MVP to the mat, then climbed to the corner turnbuckle. MVP got up and ran to the corner as Hawkins jumped at him. He returned to hit the Playmaker taking Hawkins down for the pinfall win.

Winner: MVP wins via pinfall over Curt Hawkins.

Superstars returned with a highlight promo video on the current US Champion, Daniel Bryan of Raw. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker talked about how Bryan impressed at Bragging Rights and the next night on Raw.

They introduced the Raw Rebound which featured highlights of John Cena versus Randy Orton, with the winning side getting to choose the special referee for Barett vs Orton WWE Title match at Survivor Series 2010. Cena won when Barrett interfered and got Orton DQ'd. Barrett announced that his special guest referee will be John Cena at Survivor Series. He said if he wins the WWE Title, Cena is relieved of his obligation to Nexus. However, Barrett said if he's not victorious he'll fire Cena on the spot.

Chris Masters arrived to the ring for the main event sporting a shiner under his left eye. Grisham and Striker said it occurred last week during his tag match.

Chris Masters vs. Tyler Reks

The match started with just about five minutes left on Superstars after commercial. Masters took advantage early with several moves, causing Reks to roll to the outside. Reks recovered and Masters went to fetch him. Reks was ready though and bear hugged Masters before smashing him into the ringpost. From there, he took control inside the ring.

Reks continued to stay in control for some time, until Masters gave him several shots to the face and chest. Masters shifted his weight as Reks tried to pick him up, but the pinfall didn't get to 3. Masters started building momentum on a collection of punches to take down Reks. He went from the second rope and hit a shoulder tackle to take him down, then tried to put the Masterlock on. Reks slammed him back into the turnbuckle, then kicked his lower back. Reks was able to hoist Masters up on his shoulders and hit his finisher to win it.

Winner: Tyler Reks wins via pinfall over Chris Masters.

WWE Superstars Results 10/21/10

WWE Supertars Results 10/21/10:

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler from Raw started things off, with Superstars airing just days ahead of the 2010 Bragging Rights Pay-Per-View. Santin Marella and Vlad Kozlov arrived out to start the show.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. The Usos

Lawler and Cole talked about how Santino and Tamina have a strange flirtatious relationship going, where Santino seems hesitant to accept her advances. They switched gears to talking over this Sunday's PPV, with the Team Raw vs Smackdown match becoming elimination style.

Kozlov had to escape the Usos to make a hot tag to Santino. In the closing moments, Santino was in the ring with momentum as both Usos ended up in there with him. He prepared for his Cobra strike on the non-legal Uso, but the other tried for a high kick. Santino ducked it and the Uso kicked his own teammate out of the ring. Santino used the Cobra on the legal Uso left in the ring to win it by pinfall.

Winners: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov win via pinfall over the Usos.

Darren Young vs. William Regal

Young worked a headlock on Regal midway through the match, before Regal took control near the corner and hammered him down. Regal settled into a headlock of his own on the mat to wear down Young.

Young gained some momentum late in the match. However, Regal was able to escape his Full Nelson attempt. With Young ducking down, Regal came from against the ropes to catch him with the Knee Trembler to finish him off.

Winner: William Regal wins via pinfall over Darren Young.

With Smackdown's Todd Grisham and Matt Striker now on hand, The Nexus arrived to the ring sans John Cena. Wade Barrett and crew got into the ring to deliver a message during their first ever appearance on WWE Superstars. Barrett said Sunday when he defeats Randy Orton he'll become the 40th WWE Champion in history. He said his name will be mentioned along with other champs like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and the man in his corner, John Cena. Barrett said if Cena doesn't follow his orders at Bragging Rights, he'll be fired.

Barrett said he's simply better than every single other WWE Champion, and Nexus is the most dominant force in WWE. Barrett had a video package shown to highlight how Barrett defeated Cena at the PPV to force him to join Nexus. The video highlights finished off with this past Monday's Raw where Orton was beat up by Nexus with Cena forced to watch, then forced to hand Orton to Barrett for his finishing move.

Drew McIntyre arrived out to the ring, followed by Dashing Cody Rhodes for the main event Smackdown tag match.

Chris Masters & MVP vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre

Chris Masters was first to the ring followed by MVP with new theme music. Masters took control of Rhodes early with a backflip to toss Rhodes over him across the ring. He had a near fall afterwords then tagged in MVP. MVP and Drew McIntyre were soon in. Later on, Rhodes and McIntyre were doubleteaming Masters in their corner.

In the final moments of the main event, MVP made a hot tag to come in and take it to both Rhodes and McIntyre. He knocked Drew off the apron, but then Rhodes came back at him with a strike. MVP was quick to turn the tables though and smashed Rhodes face first into his knee. MVP followed it up with the Ballin Elbow drop, then went for The Playmaker. Drew came in to knock him off though. Masters entered the fray and locked the Masterlock on Drew, but Rhodes came at him. Masters released the hold and put it on Rhodes next. McIntyre recovered and kicked Masters in the leg, then knocked him to the outside.

MVP was able to gain control against McIntyre, kicking him outside the ring through the ropes. Meanwhile, Rhodes attacked MVP from behind raking his eyes, then hit the Cross Rhodes to win it.

Winners: Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre win via pinfall over Chris Masters & MVP.

WWE Superstars Results 08/26/10

WWE Superstars results 08/26/10:

Cole and Lawler kicked off the show as Raw superstar Goldust arrived to the ring. The commentators discussed how the anonymous GM was quite busy on Raw this past week.

Goldust vs. William Regal

Regal seemed to dominate through the first half of the match using arm submission holds. Goldust started to try a comeback, however as he ran from the ropes and jumped at Regal, Regal ducked. Goldust went flying across the ring and rolled to the outside, hitting the floor as Superstars hit commercial break.

After break, Superstars returned with Goldust using a suplex to bring Regal into the ring from the apron. Goldust now had control of things as he took it to Regal in the corner with punches. Regal was down on his knees and pleaded for mercy, but Goldust stomped on his hand. Regal played up a finger injury and it fired up his momentum to beat on Goldust.

In the closing moments, Regal rolled under the ropes to the apron. Goldust came over to retrieve him, but Regal grabbed him by the head and yanked him throat first against the top rope. Goldust snapped back and was hunched over in the ring. Regal got back in and hit the knee trembler for the win.

Winner: William Regal wins via pinfall over Goldust.

They showed highlights of the latest NXT episode. It involved the final 3 contestants Alex Riley, Michael McGillicutty and Kaval in a trivia challenge. Kaval and McGill answered most of the questions. Riley got only the final question, about which superstar has the record for most WWE Title reigns, Triple H. In the end, Kaval won it with a score of 700 to McGill's 500.

WWE Superstars returned with a look at news clippings about the WWE's recent tour in Asia. Grisham said it shows Miz signing autographs and he never realized The Miz did that. Grisham and Striker were now on hand for the Smackdown portion of the show.

The Dudebusters vs. Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer

Two of the few tag teams left around for the division squared off here with Grisham and Striker talking of their chances to contend for the titles.

Late in the contest, Caylen Croft avoided an attack from Hawkins, then dumped him over the top rope to the floor. Archer rushed over to kick Croft down from the apron. From there, Archer tried to finish off Barretta picking him up for a slam move. Barretta shifted his weight and turned it into a tornado DDT using the ropes to come off and DDT Archer to the mat. The Dudebusters pick up a surprise victory in the tag division.

Winners: The Dudebusters win via pinfall over Hawkins & Archer.

Superstars returned with an Undertaker highlight video showing him disposing of his victims in the ring. Grisham and Striker reminded fans that Undertaker will be back on Smackdown tomorrow night.

They kicked it over to the Raw Rebound. Highlights were shown from Monday when Sheamus was given the right to watch a series of matches and determine his choice for #1 Contender for the WWE title. Sheamus watched Edge, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton pick up wins. At the end of the night, Sheamus chose to face Zack Ryder saying he's a guy who's never been given a shot. Sheamus beat him as soon as the bell sounded, then declared that he doesn't have to defend the title again for 30 days now.
That brought out Wade Barrett saying he gets a WWE PPV title shot and wants it against Sheamus at Night of Champions. The GM sent an email saying Sheamus will defend the title in a Six Pack Challenge against Barrett, Orton, Jericho, Edge and John Cena. Raw ended after everyone beat up Barrett, then used their finishing moves on each other. It closed after Orton hit the RKO on Cena.

Smackdown superstar Drew McIntyre made his way to the ring for the main event.

Chris Masters vs. Drew McIntyre

McIntyre targeted the left leg of Masters, wrenching it back on the mat. Masters punched his way out and got to the corner to stand up. He tried to kick Drew as he came at him but Drew grabbed Masters by the leg and kicked his other. Drew flipped Masters across the ring to throw him down by his leg, right before Superstars went to commercial.

After break, Drew continued his dominance with a dropkick to take out Masters left leg. He kept punishing the Masterpiece with a variety of strike attacks and moves to target the hurt leg. McIntyre went for the FutureShock DDT, but Masters countered and turned it into a near pinfall.
Moments later, Masters tried to get the Masterlock on Drew in the ring. Drew avoided Masters locking it in as he threw himself through the ropes and out of the ring. Masters locked in the hold outside the ring for a bit, but Drew rammed him backwards into the crowd barrier.

Drew got back in the ring and Masters followed him. However, Drew was now able to gain control of Masters in the ring and hit the Future Shock.

Winner: Drew McIntyre wins via pinfall over Chris Masters.
