Smackdown Results 06/25/10

Smackdown Results from Manchester, NH:

Smackdown opened with Teddy Long and Vickie Guerrero smiling on camera backstage. Teddy announced there were 3 new champions crowned this past Sunday at Fatal 4Way PPV, including Smackdown's own Rey Mysterio as World Champion. He said at the next PPV, Money in the Bank, Rey will defend his title.

Vickie butted in to continue talking, saying in the next two weeks the two of them will evaluate all the Superstars to decide which 8 men will compete in the MITB ladder match. Teddy said the 8 guys will be fighting for a contract hanging above the ring, they can cash in at any time for a World Title shot. Vickie brought up how Mr. McMahon was rendered incapicated by the NXT superstars on Raw.

Just then, Drew McIntyre came in to interrupt and started to dress down Teddy about how he officiated his IC title match at Fatal 4Way PPV Sunday. He told Teddy to wipe the smirk off his face. Teddy said he'd met with the WWE board and they told him that he can run Smackdown as he sees fit. Teddy said first order of business is he will reinstate Matt Hardy, and he'll be in action tonight, against Drew McIntyre. Teddy ordered Drew to get out and Vickie backed him up on it.

Big Show came out to start off Smackdown. Grisham and Striker were shown at the commentators table. They brought up how Kane believes CM Punk is the guilty party behind Undertaker's attack. Tonight Kane gets to go one-on-one with CM Punk in a No disqualification match.

Big Show vs. Jack Swagger

Swagger got a mic up on the stage to let everyone know he's protesting the fact he had to defend his World Title in a Fatal Fourway. Swagger said it's impossible for a natural-born champion like himself to come out victorious. Swagger said he was cheated and he's invoked his rematch clause for Money in the Bank PPV. Swagger said "cheaters never win and winners never cheat." Swagger vowed until he gets a rematch he's going to make everyone suffer. Swagger told Big Show right now he's going to make him suffer.

Swagger got dominated early by Show, including a massive Superplex from off the corner. Show stayed down on the mat while Swagger rolled around on the floor outside the ring.

Late in the match, Show had Swagger in a chokehold and was going to do the Chokeslam. Swagger countered and it looked like he was going to roll through for a pin. Instead, he put on an ankle lock. Show was screaming in pain but finally managed to grab the bottom rope. Swagger dropped to the mat and kept the hold on. The ref called for the DQ since Swagger wouldn't respond to his orders. Swagger kept it on after the bell until finally two refs got him to stop.

Swagger was still down on the mat holding his ankle in pain as Swagger glared at him from the top of the stage. Finally, Show got himself up with the ropes to stare up at Swagger, then fell back down to the mat again for the refs to help him.

Winner: Big Show wins due to disqualification of Jack Swagger.

MVP, Christian & Kofi Kingston vs. Curt Hawkins, Vance Archer & Dolph Ziggler

Late in the match, Christian hit a missile dropkick on Ziggler for a pinfall. Archer and Hawkins came in to break it up, so Kofi and MVP came in to clean house. Everyone went to the outside, except the legal men, Ziggler and Christian. Ziggler threw Christian face first to the turnbuckle. Ziggler went for Zig Zag but Christian held the corner to prevent it. From there he grabbed Ziggler and hit Killswitch for the win.

Winners: Kofi Kingston, Christian & MVP win via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler, Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer.

Grisham introduced highlights from Monday Night Raw where the NXT season 1 crew gave Mr. McMahon a beatdown in the ring. This came after it was discovered Mr. McMahon was behind their attacks earlier. They hit several big moves on Vince including a running clothesline from Sheffield, Wade Barret's slam off the shoulders, and Justin Gabriel's 450 Splash from the corner. Striker read off the anonymous GM's email "these actions will be met with the appropriate consequences."

Backstage, Kane slammed his fists on a coffin, saying tonight they will gain vengeance against the guilty culprit. Kane vowed to break CM Punk's body in two tonight and decapitate the head of the SES. Kane slammed the lid of the coffin as he was huffing and puffing.

Matt Hardy was walking backstage all smiles. He slapped hands with several WWE staff, then JTG walked up and gave him a handshake.

Matt Hardy vs. Drew McIntyre

Late in the match, the two foes fought outside the ring. McIntyre rammed Hardy into the steps hard. Hardy was resting on top of the steps with his head in prime position for Drew to stomp on. Drew went for it as he did to Hardy once before, but this time Matt was clever and moved then swiped Drew's other leg, causing McIntyre to fall on his back on the steel steps. Hardy rolled McIntyre back into the ring, went for the pinfall, but McIntyre kicked out.

McIntyre got a pinfall on Hardy as well, but Matt kicked out of the pin. Drew got a wicked look on his face as he went towards Hardy. Matt quickly grabbed him for the Twist of Fate to win it.

Winner: Matt Hardy wins via pinfall over Drew McIntyre.

Teddy Long appeared up on the Titantron with a message for McIntyre. He said he was sorry he lost the match and had some bad news for him. Teddy said he did some research and it seems that Drew's VISA has recently expired. Teddy said Drew's been in the country illegally. Teddy asked security to go bring him back to Scotland. Two guys in suits walked down the ramp, while Matt Hardy was backing up leading a "hey hey goodbye song" with the crowd. Drew rushed over to Matt Striker and told him to say he's not going anywhere. McIntyre screamed at Striker and kept pounding away on the tables, but then the two security guys escorted him up the ramp and backstage.

vs. Cody Rhodes

Rhodes grabbed a mic and told the WWE fans to look at WWE's most attractive superstar. Rhodes then had a WWE.com diva's poll shown up on the Titantron over who was the most attractive WWE Superstar. Rhodes had them reveal the results and Rhodes won it with a 35% vote over John Cena's 28%. Rhodes acted surprised about the results, then told his NXT rookie Husky Harris to take off his vest.

Rhodes said Husky represents the average male with his girth and strange tattoos. He thanked Husky and said he could go backstage. Rhodes said it's strange he came out so good looking because have you seen his relatives. Rhodes got out of the ring, then went over to the crowd. He started insulting various audience members for being out of shape, then asked Todd Grisham if he knows how many hours it takes him to get in such great shape. Rhodes turned his attention to ring announcer Tony Chimel asking when his last donut was, the first match?
Rhodes returned to the ring and
thanked the WWE Divas saying they have exquisite taste. He layed on the corner and said he can't help his God-given ability to excel in the ring. Rhodes then announced from now on everyone including Tony Chimel will call him "Dashing" Cody Rhodes. He kept repeating it over and over to the booing fans.

Dolph Ziggler came backstage to talk to Vickie Guerrero. He complained that their relationship was not two-way. He said he feels he gives and gives and gives. He told Vickie he wants gold. She said she gave him a gold chain. Ziggler said he wants an Intercontinental title match. He told her to make it happen, otherwise he doesn't know what will happen with them.

Kelly Kelly vs. Rosa Mendes

Rosa Mendes was jumping rope in the ring as her theme music played. Kelly Kelly came to the ring along with Tiffany. Just then, LayCool's music hit. They made their way out to the ramp along with their NXT rookie, Kuval wearing his pink Property of Laycool shirt. The ref told Rosa to stop jumping rope when the bell rang.

LayCool sat with Striker and Grisham for commentary and asked "who allowed Rrrrrosa in the rrrrrring?" As they kept chatting, Kelly Kelly got an extremely quick victory with her leg drop to the back of Rosa's head. Kelly Kelly started jumping rope to show off in the ring, then threw the jump rope at them. LayCool got up on the apron, so Tiffany got in the ring help Kelly. LayCool backed off and jumped down from the apron. Kuval just watched.

Winner: Kelly Kelly wins via pinfall over Rosa Mendes.

They showed a replay of what Swagger did earlier in the show to Big Show with the intense ankle lock he wouldn't let go off even after losing the match by DQ.

Smackdown returned with Spanish guitar music and an outside shot of a nice home. Inside, they showed a guy reading a book on the couch. He said his name is Alberto del Rio. He said people talk about all his attributes including honesty. He said all men are born with honesty, but lose it quickly. He said as the growth process continues, so do the lies. He said a liar is a despicable person. He added only one man who doesn't lie, Alberto Del Rio. Striker and Grisham noted that it seems a new superstar is headed to Smackdown. Grisham handed out congrats to Rey Mysterio for capturing the World Title this past Sunday at Fatal 4Way. He'll be there next week to address the WWE Universe.

Kane vs. CM Punk
No DQ match

Punk was introduced first. After he got to the ring, Punk got on the mic and pointed at his mask saying "this is the face of an innocent man". Smackdown went to commercial, then returned with Kane's intro. Punk immediately attacked when Kane got in the ring, but Kane threw him hard at the corner and Punk fell outside the ring.

With Kane beating up Punk outside the ring during the match, Luke Gallows came rushing down to Punk's aid. Kane got to him though and threw Gallows face first off the steel steps and then into the crowd barrier. The masked member of SES came down to help out, but Kane got him too, whipping him into the barrier near the ramp. Serena layed across the guy on the ramp to prevent further attack, and Punk/Gallows attacked Kane from behind. The mystery man came in to help as well. They stood him up and whipped Kane into the crowd barrier, then Gallows splashed against him. They tried to slingshot Punk at Kane. Kane did a backdrop and threw Punk into the timekeeper's area.

Kane beat up the other SES members as they rushed him, then went back after Punk. Kane smashed both of Punk's arms onto the steel steps one-by-one. He continued to dismantle Punk outside the ring throwing him into the ring steps a few times more. Kane began taking apart the commentary table. The mystery SES guy rushed him, so Kane chokeslammed him to the floor. He grabbed Punk and slapped on the Chokehold.

Luke Gallows attacked from behind for the save. Kane soon regained control on him, then chokeslammed Gallows through the table. He went back after Punk through the crowd, stalking him up the steps into the crowd and then out into the arena lobby. He slammed Punk through a concessions table, then over another one. He punched Punk out through the arena door. Punk got up and ran across the street as Smackdown ended.

Winner: No contest, no winner determined.

Raw Revelations - Anonymous GM & The Nexus

It appears clear now that those pesky NXT guys aren't fooling around. In the course of just a few weeks, the NXT Season 1 crew has:

1)Destroyed a ring and surrounding set
2)Sent John Cena out on a stretcher
3)beat up Edge, Luke Gallows, CM Punk, Hart Dynasty & a variety of other personalities around the ring
4)shaken up Bret Hart in a crazy limo rampage and eventually got him fired
5)helped Sheamus win the WWE Title
6)given their former boss, Mr. McMahon a royal beatdown
7)"disposed of" Daniel Bryan (although we know the real story)
8)got themselves all contracts with the WWE

Basically, they've been responsible for a lot of damage in the past few weeks. Lead by Wade Barrett this group will be called "The Nexus" as the name has apparently been trademarked by WWE. I'm curious to see when and where (and against who) Wade Barrett takes his PPV title shot. He's in the role of a heel, as is Sheamus. I was expecting WWE to go with a lesser title for Barrett, say the US Title or Intercontinental, but seems he may go for the bigtime prize. Maybe he'll go after Rey Mysterio who currently holds the World Title, unless maybe Orton or Cena recaptures the WWE Title in the coming months.

I have a feeling these NXT guys will continue their destructive ways and interfering in matches to further annoy the WWE Universe. Not sure we'll see them wrestle in the ring for several weeks, because they probably need to keep generating heat to get themselves established. However, Michael Cole read a "new email" from the new anonymous GM of Raw saying their actions will be dealt with. Hmmmm....maybe a match could come next week?

About that new GM who simply sends emails to Michael Cole on a laptop, giving him something to do besides commentate and make geeky remarks, I've got some early guesses at who it is. First thought was that it was Mr. McMahon duping us all, which is still possible. He loves that sort of thing. Other thoughts were that it's his daughter Stephanie, former commentator Jim Ross, the fired NXT guy, Daniel Bryan, or maybe even Linda McMahon. The anonymous thing is a good mystery though and leaves the door open for plenty of intriguing possibilities.

WWE NXT continues to heat up and it's exciting to see the fans will get to be heard in the first vote on next Tuesday night. Voting begins at 10PM EST on WWE.com. This season' the rookies get a 50% pro vote and a 50% fan vote which will influence the contest. So far, I have a feeling the fans like Kuval's in-ring showmanship despite the 0-2 record, as well as Percy Watson's flamboyant/flashy personality, and probably Michael McGillicutty's quick wins & pairing with Kofi Kingston help. I'm expecting we'll see those 3 at the top for fan votes despite their win/loss records. The pros may have a different view though.

Who is your favorite to win the WWE NXT contest in Season 2? Also, who do you believe is the anonymous RAW GM? Feel free to comment below!

Raw Results 06/21/10

Raw Results from Bridgeport, CT:

Raw opened with the intro theme video, not highlights from Fatal 4Way. Lawler and Cole discussed how controversial last night's Pay-Per-View was, with the NXT crew interfering in the main event for the WWE title, which lead to Sheamus become the new champion.

Vince McMahon arrived out to the cheers of the crowd. Vince brought up how last night Sheamus won the WWE title due to the chaos during the main event. Vince said there's only one person to blame for last night's chaos, Bret Hart. Vince said Bret made a bad decision last week firing Wade Barrett and dismissing the entire NXT group which set off a bad series of actions. Vince said due to Bret not showing up last night, there was all this chaos.

Vince said as Chairman of WWE he has no other choice but to relieve Bret as GM of Raw. Vince said there's a new GM who will run things on Raw, who prefers to remain anonymous. He said the new GM will issue instructions through the Mac laptop computer on the announce desk. Vince said when Michael Cole gets an email he'll stand up and announce what they've said.

Cole stood up to read the first email that just came in. He said per order of the new GM all 7 of the former NXT guys have officially been hired. Vince said looks like an interesting show, and wished everyone a fun night. He was about to leave when the new WWE champ Sheamus arrived out. Sheamus got in the ring with a mic looking a bit concerned.

Sheamus said this was not the way he wanted to win the WWE Title, he wanted to prove that he belongs in the top of the WWE by beating 3 of WWE's best in the ring. Sheamus said he can't accept the WWE title under these conditions, then started to hand the belt over to Vince McMahon. He yanked it away and said "I will anyway" then joyously raised his arms up laughing about it. Sheamus sent out a message of thanks to the former NXT guys - "Thank you for interfering in the match last night, and taking out Bret Hart last week."

Sheamus said he really didn't need the NXT guys' help and the only statement made last night was him winning the WWE Title. Just then, he was interrupted by John Cena's music. Cena walked down to the ring smiling about it and got a mic as well. Cena thanked Vince McMahon for hiring the new GM, and told Michael Cole to send an email thanking that new GM for hiring back the NXT guys. Cena brought up that he still gets a rematch, and said he can't think of a better spot than Bridgeport, CT for that. Sheamus said no way tonight.
Vince got in between the two guys, just as Michael Cole got a new email from the GM. It said Sheamus will defend the WWE Title tonight against John Cena in the main event. There will be a special guest referee too - Mr. McMahon.

Highlights were shown from last Monday's Raw where Evan Bourne won against Chris Jericho due to Jericho's DQ. After the bell, Bourne kicked Jericho to the mat and hit Air Bourne on him.

Evan Bourne vs. Chris Jericho

They showed a still image of the Air Bourne from last night's Fatal 4Way PPV where Bourne beat Chris Jericho. Jericho had a mic and said he requested this match for tonight, and if he doesn't win he'll walk out of the arena and the WWE forever.

In the late stages of the match, Jericho had Walls of Jericho locked in but someone Bourne managed to crawl to the ropes. Bourne rolled onto the apron and a frustrated Jericho recovered on the other side of the ring. Jericho went after Bourne who was on the apron, but Bourne again got a roundhouse kick in, knocking Jericho to the mat. Bourne climbed the corner and went for Air Bourne, however Jericho got both knees up, then hit Codebreaker for the win.

Jericho seemed to be helping Bourne stand up and encouraging him, but then shoved him back down to the mat. Jericho rolled out of the ring smirking and raising up his arm.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins via pinfall over Evan Bourne.

Cole and Lawler reviewed the intro for Raw when the new GM sent an email to announce the main event WWE Title match with Vince McMahon as special ref.

Vince McMahon was on the phone backstage talking about the WWE Title match with an unknown caller. He said he understands that he gave the new GM complete authority. Vince said not to surprise him too much though. Vince walked over and grabbed his referee shirt smiling.

Virgil was shown in the locker room when Ted Dibiase walked in. Dibiase said he wanted to apologize for his actions last week, humiliating him in the ring. He told Virgil his services would no longer be needed. Dibiase said he got an upgrade, and in walked Maryse. She spoke in French. Virgil asked Dibiase what he'd do for protection, and Dibiase said go to the drug store. He told Virgil he's fired and Maryse said goodbye in French, then smiled at Dibiase.

Josh Matthews was backstage to interview Natalya and Hart Dynasty. Josh asked about their thoughts on Bret being relieved of his GM duties. They said Bret did nothing wrong and what happened to him was a disgrace. Natalya said the NXT guys should have been arrested for last week's incident. She said as his family they'll never let that happen again. DH Smith said they'll make his uncle Bret proud. Natalya said she'll dedicate her first Raw match tonight to Uncle Bret.

The camera showed a limosine pull up outside of the arena. The camera stopped on the back door but nobody stepped out.

Natalya vs. Tamina

The Hart Dynasty and The Usos were at ringside for the divas match. The match was ultimately in Natalya's hands as she prepared for the Sharpshooter to win it. Suddenly, the NXT guys came storming out from backstage and to the ring area. The Usos pulled Tamina out of the ring while DH and Kidd got in the ring to protect Natalya.

Wade Barrett grabbed a mic and said he knows the Harts are upset but they came to apologize. Kidd wasn't having it and did a springboard jump over the ropes onto two NXT guys crashing down on them. DH Smith came outside to start fighting, but the 7 NXT guys soon overpowered the Harts. They tossed Kidd into the crowd barrier and beat down DH Smith. Cole said "these 7 guys are so dangerous." Barrett got into the ring as Raw went to commercial.

Winner: No contest due to NXT guys interrupting the match.

Raw returned with the 7 NXT guys in the ring. Otunga had the mic and said on behalf of their group he wants to apologize for their actions the past few weeks. Otunga said they love WWE so much they'd do anything to get noticed and to get those contracts. Otunga said now that they have those contracts things can go back to normal.

Slater took the mic and said they've got no problem with the WWE locker room or WWE Universe. He said the attacks are nothing personal. He said they want to apologize to a few select individuals. Justin Gabriel took over saying first they want to apologize to Bret Hart, and they hope he's doing OK now. They apologized to The Hart Dynasty, saying they had to defend themselves tonight, and hope everyone can co-exist peacefully.

Darren Young said they want to apologize to John Cena. Young said they used to call him "the black John Cena". Young said Cena will get his title back. Skip Sheffield said they want to apologize to the entire WWE Universe for always supporting him and the others. Sheffield said he hopes everyone can find it in their hearts to forgive and forget. Michael Tarver took the mic next. Tarver made an apology to his daughters. He said when you've got an opportunity to realize your dream you've got to do what it takes.

Finally, Wade Barrett took over to speak. He said they all did what they had to do. Barrett reminded everyone he had a WWE title shot and a contract. He said he only aligned himself with the NXT guys and they would all stick together, because that's what loyalty is all about. Barrett said the NXT season one guys have formed a bond that will never be broken. He said his PPV title shot has been reinstated as well. Barrett sent a message to Sheamus saying he only won because they made Cena a target, and they could just as easily make Sheamus a target. He told Sheamus he will become WWE Champion no matter who he has to beat. A new theme song started playing after Barrett stopped speaking.

Lawler and Cole reminded fans that the theme song for Fatal 4Way was "Showstopper" by Toby Mac and that WWE.com has full highlight photos.

John Morrison vs. Ted Dibiase

Morrison came out with his NXT rookie Eli Cottonwood who stood next to Morrison for the special slow-mo intro.

Ted Dibiase came out with Maryse on his arm. He said he's got better things to do than wrestle tonight. He said he found a suitable replacement for him though. Out came Zack Ryder with his NXT rookie Titus O'Neil.

In the late part of the match, Morrison missed on a spin kick so Ryder went to the apron. As Morrison went at him, Ryder yanked him down against the top rope. Back in the ring, Ryder tried for the Rough Ryder, but Morrison reversed it to slam Ryder face first to the mat. From there it was time for the Starship Pain to finish Ryder off.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder.

Josh Matthews caught up with John Cena backstage, he asked what Cena thought of the NXT guys' apology. Cena laughed it off, saying they put him on a stretcher and cost him the title, almost his career. He said every action has got a reaction. Cena said "apology not accepted." Cena said now he's worried about getting the WWE Championship back. Vince McMahon came up in his ref shirt saying there will be no excuses tonight. Vince said tonight his job is to insure that the best man will win.

Eve Torres & Great Khali vs. Alicia Fox & Primo

Primo wanted nothing to do with Khali in the start so he tagged in Alicia. Eve tagged in as well and got the upperhand on Alicia taking her down in a headlock. Alicia soon gained the advantage though and mocked Eve when she was down on the mat.

At one point in the match, Primo tried to get a kiss from Eve, and grabbed her arm in the ring. Eve slapped him in the face. As Primo was holding his cheek, Eve tagged in Khali. Alicia Fox hit the road with her Divas belt, leaving up the ramp. Khali began to dismantle Primo in the ring, then eventually hit the Punjabi Plunge for the win.

Winner: Eve & Great Khali win via pinfall over Primo & Alicia Fox.

The Viper Randy Orton was shown walking backstage on his way out to the ring. Lawler said he has asked for time to speak tonight.

Orton came to the ring and got on the mic. He said if NXT guys want to interfere in his match, that's fine because now that they have a WWE contract. He said that means he will punt kick each and every one of them. Orton said he accepts Barrett's apology too and hopes he becomes WWE Champion. Orton said because he will be the one to take it from him.

Just then, The Miz arrived out in street clothes with his US Title and a mic. He questioned Randy getting another main event title match. Miz said he's sick of seeing Orton in the main event matches week after week. Miz said one thing Orton has never done is hold the US Title and WWE Title at the same time. Miz told Orton to go to the back of the line. Miz said the next WWE Championship match is his.

The Miz got into the ring finally saying he has an industry secret to share "I'm the Miz and I'm-" Miz didn't finish but instead kicked Orton in the gut and started hammering away on him. Orton soon gained control of things and powerslammed The Miz down. Orton dropped down to pound away on the mat, getting ready for Miz to get up. He rushed him and went for RKO, but Miz quickly escaped the ring. Orton stared out at Miz as he walked off around the ring. Just then, Edge slipped into the ring. As Orton turned around, Edge caught him with the Spear. Edge got down to look at Orton and said on the mic "Now the real fun begins Randy".

John Cena vs. Sheamus
WWE Title match

Vince McMahon arrived to the ring dressed as the special guest referee for the main event title match. Michael Cole read back the email he received earlier from the new "anonymous" General Manager of Raw. John Cena was out next followed by new champion, Sheamus.

Mr. McMahon was at ringside while another referee was in the ring for the match. At one point, Sheamus was recovering outside the ring and Cena came out after him. Sheamus got up though and whipped Cena hard into the steel steps. He tossed Cena back in the ring for a pinfall but somehow Cena kicked out of it to Sheamus' dismay.

Sheamus went back out of the ring and grabbed the steel steps. He set up half the steel steps on the ramp, then pulled Cena to the outside. He threw Cena into the steel step part on the ramp, then brought Cena's limp body back to the ring. Sheamus got in the ring and prepared for Cena to get up. Cena did and Sheamus hit him with the Pump boot kick. Suddenly, the NXT Season 1 guys appeared and came running to the ring. Sheamus saw them and quickly got out of there. He headed into the crowd just as Heath Slater and another NXT guy tried to grab him.

They turned their attention to Cena. The commentators hit the road. Darren Young stood Cena up then tossed him over the commentators table. Barrett ordered them to do something and Skip Sheffield pushed the commentators table on top of Cena near the crowd barrier. Mr. McMahon was standing there watching it all with a mic in hand, seeming to admire their work.

Winner: No contest due to NXT guys interference. Sheamus retains the WWE Championship.

Vince got into the ring with the microphone. Vince told the NXT guys to stop it, then told them to get in the ring. Vince told the crowd to check out these extraordinary athletes. Vince said he can take partial responsibility for their actions against everyone. Vince asked for a round of applause for himself. The NXT guys were smirking behind him. Vince said next week the new GM is going to reveal something.

Vince started looking concerned as the NXT guys started shooting him evil looks almost as if they were going to attack. Vince then started laughing saying "you guys almost had me there for a second." They started with the looks again. This time they all surrounded Vince looking like it was time for a beatdown.

After several moments that's what happened as all seven NXT guys began to beat on Vince. He tried to escape the ring, but they grabbed him and started stomping on him even more. They picked up Vince as Skip Sheffield hit a huge running clothesline. Several guys put Vince up on Barrett's shoulders for his slam move. Barrett ordered Justin Gabriel to go to the corner for the 450 Splash to finish things off.

Raw closed with the NXT guys leaving the ring with Vince McMahon layed out. They all headed backstage with no commentators on hand to call the action. An unknown guy got in the ring and started yelling for someone to get help out there.

Raw Preview 06.21.10

With Sunday night's Fatal 4 Way PPV (see results) several of Raw's superstars put their titles on the line while others participated in ongoing feuds. In previously unscheduled matches, The Hart Dynasty and Natalya were able to overcome their latest opponents, The Usos along with manager Tamina, while Evan Bourne collected a huge victory over veteran star Chris Jericho. However, in the Divas title match, we saw a new champion crowned. Will Eve Torres invoke her rematch clause for tonight's episode of Raw?

Also on Sunday, Bret Hart was supposed to be there to answer Wade Barrett and his NXT crew's demands. However, we learned early in the show that Bret would not be present. The messenger was none other than Vince McMahon, who left the PPV in a limo to go meet with Hart's representatives. Unfortunately for John Cena and others, that would hurt the main event Fatal Fourway for the WWE Title.

In the main event, with the match in progress, the cameras cut backstage to show Wade Barrett and his NXT crew attacking wrestlers backstage and tearing apart the set. From there, they headed down to the ring where they once again attacked John Cena. Edge tried to fight off Wade Barrett but ended up getting taken down as was Randy Orton. Somehow, Sheamus eluded the attack and made a winning pinfall on John Cena. From there, the attack continued on Cena by the NXT season one stars. Sheamus escaped with the WWE Title, but Cena, Orton and Edge were all shown down as the PPV ended. Will John Cena be able to fight in a rematch on Raw? What will the NXT season one rookies have to say about last night, and what will become of Bret Hart?

Catch Monday Night Raw tonight at 9PM EST on USA!

Fatal 4Way PPV predictions 2010

The Fatal 4Way Pay-Per-View for 2010 will feature three Fatal fourway matches on its card. This is the first edition of the new PPV event, and the World Title, WWE Title and Divas title are up for grabs with four individuals competing in each of the contests. The champion won't need to be pinned or submit to lose the match or title. So in effect, the champion has a tough task ahead for Sunday night!

Those champions include WWE title holder John Cena, World Title holder Jack Swagger and Divas champion Eve Torres. The Miz will also defend the United States Championship and Kofi Kingston the Intercontinental title, making for quite the event! Here's my Fatal 4Way predictions...

But first, a side note. This Pay-Per-View is truly unpredictable in that we have some "loose cannon/wildcards" from both Raw and Smackdown. For Raw, it's Wade Barrett and his NXT crew. They last were seen on Raw threatening GM Bret Hart to give an answer by Sunday. They could end up playing a part in the event. Also, Kane seems to be a man possessed on Smackdown. He may very well play into the World Championship match, as we saw from the end of Smackdown Friday night.

R-Truth vs. The Miz
United States Championship

The Miz just won the belt the other night from R-Truth so it would be very odd to flipflop the belt around so soon. Then again, WWE has shown it will do that. Just look at what happened with Bret Hart winning the title, becoming GM, then vacating the belt for R-Truth to win. Anyhow, The Miz should retain. Let's keep the US title a bit respectable and stable. Also, The Miz has a rookie who will likely be at ringside in Alex Riley.

Prediction: The Miz wins via pinfall over R-Truth.

Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston
Intercontinental Championship

It was interesting to see the run-ins on Smackdown when McIntyre was humiliating GM Teddy Long. Not only did Kofi Kingston show up, but so did Matt Hardy. It makes you wonder how long the Hardy and McIntyre feud is going to keep up. Hardy was supposedly banned from all WWE premises and events, but that didn't stop him Friday.

On Smackdown, Drew finished off both Kofi and Hardy thanks to the help of 10 security guards. With that in mind, I don't see Kofi Kingston losing the title here and Matt Hardy may even show up yet again.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston retains the Intercontinental title.

Maryse vs. Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox vs. Eve Torres
Divas Championship Fatal Fourway

If I have to pick one match with a title loss for the Pay-Per-View, this is it. As much of a fan as I am of Eve Torres, I can't see her keeping the belt too long. Her most likely successor is Maryse. The two will continue their feud, this time with Eve trying to regain her title back.

Prediction: Maryse wins the Divas Championship.

Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. John Cena
WWE Championship Fatal Fourway

I keep leaning towards Sheamus here, but the NXT storyline keeps getting in the way. The interesting thing is that the live Raw on TV Monday night didn't feature a conclusion to the tag match involving Cena and Orton versus Edge and Sheamus. We've seen them skirt the issue with Orton for weeks due to his shoulder, making sure he hasn't competed. If he wins the WWE Title Sunday I'll be shocked. On the other hand, we all know Edge is the ultimate opportunist and loves to steal victories out of nowhere.

The buildup of John Cena has continued for weeks now, and Sheamus hasn't really seemed to get much heel heat in recent weeks. Still, the latest storyline involving Wade Barrett would seem to point towards him getting his spot with WWE back as well as his PPV match for a title. He'll go for the top dog, John Cena and the WWE Title. So Cena wins, to set that up.

Prediction: John Cena retains the WWE Championship.

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. Big Show vs. Jack Swagger
World Championship Fatal Fourway

One way to work the whole Undertaker-Kane story is to have Rey Mysterio win the World Championship Sunday night. It would make Kane point the finger at Mysterio for taking out Undertaker, in essence getting his spot in the match and winning the World Title. My thought on the whole story is that it's probably Kane who was really behind it. He wanted to grab Undertaker's spot at Fatal 4Way but Mysterio got in the way, winning the Battle Royal.

However, Rey Mysterio wasn't originally intended for the match and was going to take time off from WWE. So he's likely not going to win the title. Jack Swagger retains, because it doesn't seem WWE really wants the belt on anyone else right now, until maybe the return of Undertaker.

Prediction: Jack Swagger retains the World Championship.

Once again, these picks were a struggle, which is good because the WWE has us all guessing with the recent storylines. These are the more exciting times to be a fan from the WWE Universe, because we don't really know what roles Wade Barrett, the NXT and Kane will play on Sunday. They seem to hold the power cards for swaying GM's and matches at the Fatal 4Way on Sunday!

Check here Sunday night starting after 8PM EST as Fatal 4Way PPV results will be continually updated right up until 11PM EST!

Feel free to leave your own thoughts about what will happen at Sunday's Fatal 4Way PPV. Will the NXT guys play a role in a title loss? Will Kane be involved in the main event?

Smackdown Results 06/18/10

Smackdown results from NC State University:

The show opened with highlights from last Friday including Kane still on a mission to find out who destroyed his brother The Undertaker. Kane screamed "there will be vengeance" during his backstage speech at Taker's coffin. He attacked numerous wrestlers throughout the night including Jack Swagger, Rey Mysterio, Gallows and the Mystery man of SES, and finally The Big Show.

Tonight Mysterio & Big Show team up to face CM Punk & Jack Swagger in tag action. Also tonight, Drew McIntyre will go one-on-one with Teddy Long in the ring. If Teddy doesn't compete he gets fired. CM Punk arrived out to start off the show with a mic in hand.

Punk said he'll win his fourth major championship at Fatal 4Way. He said he's disappointed Undertaker won't be on hand to witness it. He then started to insult the crowd's intelligence and reminded them he's the only guy in history to make Undertaker tap out. He said if not for Taker's current vegetative state he'd make him tap out again. He said neither he nor any member of SES is responsible for Taker's state now. Punk admitted he's glad Taker's out of it, and wishes he could have seen it. He said he'll shake the hand of whoever did it.

Punk said the WWE landscape has been so much better without Taker. Just then the arena went dark. As the lights came back on, it appeared The Undertaker was in the ring. CM Punk backed away to the corner, then slowly went towards him. He gave Taker a few touches to make sure it was really him. All of a sudden, the guy ripped off a wig and black trench coat, and it was Luke Gallows all smiles. Punk laughed as they tricked the crowd, and he put on the Undertaker hat.

As Punk prepared to step on the hate, pyro went off and Kane made his way down the ramp. Suddenly, Jack Swagger rushed him from behind and knocked Kane down. Punk, Gallows, Swagger and the mystery SES guy all started beating on Kane at ringside. They took it into the ring, where Kane got a huge splash. The SES held him down so Swagger could do several of his running splash moves from the corner. Rey Mysterio and Big Show hit the ring to chase off the heels. Kane was recovering near the ropes, so Rey took the opportunity to hit a 619. It sent Kane stumbling back where Show chokeslammed him.

Rey backed out of the ring cautiously giving Show a look. Show got down in Kane's face and said "for the last time I had nothing to do with what happened to Undertaker, and nothing is going to stop me from becoming World Champion!"

Smackdown returned with a highlight video from 9/25/09 Smackdown when Mr. McMahon introduced the wrestler he personally signed, Drew McIntyre. Drew will go one-on-one against GM Teddy Long in the ring tonight.

MVP & Christian vs. Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer

They showed Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins attacking MVP 2 weeks ago after his match against Jack Swagger. Christian was a recipient of an attack from them on last week's show.

Late in this match, Christian had the pinfall on Hawkins. Archer rushed in to break it up and began to beat on Christian, which brought in MVP to help his partner. He punched Archer down, and Archer went to the outside. Archer grabbed MVP and threw him shoulder first to the ringpost. The ref turned his attention to make sure MVP was ok. Christian went for Killswitch on Hawkins, but Archer snuck back in and hit his finisher on Christian. Hawkins went to the corner and hit the elbow drop for the win.

After the match, MVP got into the ring and tried to fight Archer and Hawkins, but ended up eating Archer's boot to the face. Archer hit his finisher, the inverted DDT, and Hawkins did his elbow drop again, on MVP.

Winners: Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer win via pinfall over Christian & MVP.

Michelle McCool and Layla were backstage talking about makeovers, while their NXT rookie carried their Womens title belts behind them. Rosa Mendes came walking up to them saying she wanted to talk to them forever. She said picture it if they made it "LayCoolosa". They insulted her and said the Joker called and wanted her makeup back. Then they joked about when she last won a match. They said she needs to re-evaluate her career and style. Rosa started tearing up and walked off. They told Kuval to turn his frown upside down.

They showed a March 5, 2010 video highlight where Drew McIntyre had his loss to Kane expunged by Vince McMahon. Teddy Long had to deliver the news on camera, that Drew was still undefeated.

Vickie Guerrero was backstage looking a bit upset. Chavo walked in saying he was glad the Guerreros were back together on Smackdown. She turned her attention as Ziggler had just walked in wearing a pair of short, tight jeans with a tool belt on. He thanked her for the new jeans but said they're real tight. Vickie started checking out his butt. Chavo interrupted and Vickie told him to go get ready for a match. Chavo said he didn't have one, but Vickie said it's next, then asked Dolph to hang up a picture of the two of them. She kept having Ziggler adjust the poster of the two of them and watching his backside. Chris Masters came walking in and said "hey Vickie I've been thinking about this match..." He noticed Vickie was paying attention to Dolph, so he walked out. It didn't get the intended laugh the writers wanted.

Striker and Grisham discussed this Sunday's Fatal 4Way PPV with the World Title on the line being defended by Swagger against Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and Big Show. Striker said Swagger doesn't have to be pinned to lose the title.

They showed a May 7, 2010 incident between Drew McIntyre and Matt Hardy in the ring which lead to GM Teddy Long coming out and stripping him of the title, suspending and firing Drew from WWE. McIntyre was removed from the building.

JTG vs. Chavo Guerrero

JTG jumped up on the corner with Chavo, then hit the mugshot late in the match, but Chavo kicked out of the pinfall attempt. Chavo missed on a charging move in the corner, allowing for JTG to hit his finisher on Chavo. JTG brought 3 kids into the ring to mimic his moves on the ropes.

Winner: JTG wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Josh Matthews interviewed Kofi Kingston backstage asking about his IC title match against Drew McIntyre this Sunday. Josh asked if the deck's stacked against him due to Drew's relationship with Mr. McMahon. Kofi said the fight won't be a problem, but he's got a problem with what Drew is doing later against Teddy Long. Kofi said he'll walk out Sunday as IC champ still.

They showed footage from May 14, 2010 where Kofi Kingston won the Intercontinental Title in a Finals match against Christian. Kofi was celebrating in the ring, but Drew McIntyre arrived out with a note from Mr. McMahon ordering Teddy to return the IC title to him.

The show returned with June 11, 2010 highlight footage of Drew McIntyre threatening Teddy Long that he'd have him fired if he didn't help him again. Kofi Kingston came down and gave Drew a beating for it. Drew McIntyre told Teddy later in the show that they'd have a match against each other next week.

Theodore Long vs. Drew McIntyre

This match was ordered by Vince McMahon. If Teddy Long refuses to participate he is fired as Smackdown GM. Teddy's theme music hit but Long didn't show up, so Drew grabbed a mic. He reiterated that if Long doesn't come out for the match per Mr. McMahon, he's fired. Teddy's music came on again, and out came the Smackdown GM.

Drew said he didn't care if Teddy was out in a business suit, he was still going to tear him apart. He said first to insure there's no shenanigans from Matt Hardy or Kofi Kingston, he enlisted his own private security force. About 10 security guards came down the ramp. Drew told the ref to check Teddy Long to make sure he has no foreign objects.

Drew got in Teddy's face and said here's your big chance to hit me. He kept getting in Teddy's face. Drew brought up how Teddy's family members are watching and many are unemployed. He told him to do exactly what he says. Drew told him to get down on his knees or he'd put him down. Next he ordered Teddy to tell him he's the chosen one. Long did so after Drew threatened him again. Teddy stood up and Drew told him he was in charge so to get back down. Drew knelt down with him, then ordered Long to lay down on his back in the middle of the ring. He told him to do it for his wife. Long crawled to the middle of the ring and did so.

Drew called Teddy pathetic, then told them to ring the bell. He put a foot on Teddy's chest then said for the ref to count to 3. Drew got the easy victory out of it.

Winner: Drew McIntyre wins via pinfall over Teddy Long.

Theodoroe Long got up and looked to be in tears as he tried to leave the ring. Drew walked over and grabbed him by the shoulder to stop him. Drew prepared to give him a Future Shock DDT. Kofi Kingston came rushing down to make a save. The security guards all grabbed Kofi to restrain him. Teddy escaped the ring, but Drew came out and gave a beatdown to Kofi. He finished with a huge boot to level Kofi. Just then, Matt Hardy rushed out of the audience and tackled McIntyre. The security guys restrained Hardy though and Drew started to give him a beating. He brought Hardy into the ring and delivered the Future Shock DDT to lay him out. Drew ordered security to toss Kofi into the ring for him, so he could give him a Future Shock DDT too.

Kelly Kelly vs. Layla

Layla was accompanied by her co-Womens Champion Michelle McCool of Team Laycool. NXT rookie Kuval was not with them. Tiffany accompanied Kelly Kelly to the ring.

Both outside divas played a part in the finish. Kelly went to the second rope of the corner for a move, but Michelle was there to distract. Layla kicked Kelly and she fell to the mat. Meanwhile, Tiffany rushed over and clubbed Michelle down. Layla saw it and kicked Tiffany in the head through the ropes. Layla tried to set up a neckbreaker, but Kelly countered. She put her leg on the back of Layla's head and drove her to the mat for the pinfall. The commentators said the win puts Kelly among top contenders for the Womens Title.

Winner: Kelly Kelly wins via pinfall over Layla.

Josh Matthews interviewed World Champion Jack Swagger backstage. Swagger talked about a story from when he was 4 years old and his dad told him to go for the gold as a wrestler. Swagger said he went on to win four gold medals that day. He told Matthews he's a winner and its just what he does. Swagger said he'll dedicate his victory at Fatal 4Way to his daddy. Swagger said in time the names Mysterio, Punk and Big Show will be forgotten. He said people will never forget Jack Swagger though.

WWE Smack of the Night showed Christian escape Dolph Ziggler sleeperhold, then win with a Sunset Flip pin from the corner. Christian was attacked after the match by Hawkins and Archer, then Dolph Ziggler came back in the ring to put a sleeper on Christian. Vickie
Guerrero held his arm up in victory.

Smackdown consultant Vickie Guerrero came out saying "Excuse me!" several times then introduced Dolph Ziggler.

Chris Masters vs. Dolph Ziggler

Masters went for the Masterlock and got it late in the match. Ziggler was able to get through the ropes though to break it. As Masters walked for him, Ziggler kicked him hard in the knee. From there, it was all over when Ziggler hit the Zig Zag on Masters. Vickie got into the ring to celebrate Dolph's win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall over Chris Masters.

Striker and Grisham brought up NXT, then switched over to Fatal 4Way. They discussed the WWE Title Fatal Fourway, Kofi Kingston vs Drew McIntyre and the Fatal Fourway for the World Title.

Rey Mysterio & Big Show vs. CM Punk & Jack Swagger

Mysterio was introduced first followed by Big Show, CM Punk and then the champion, Jack Swagger.

During the match, Punk went to the outside to chase CM Punk, but instead got leveled by a Luke Gallows clothesline. Smackdown took a commercial break with Rey layed out, then returned with Punk using a Boston Crab on him.

The heels continued to work on Rey Mysterio, who eventually countered to take down Jack Swagger. Mysterio got up with the ropes and jumped to tag in Show. Show began to take Swagger down then hit him with a hip splash and knocked him down. He signaled for the Chokeslam, with Punk trying to get in the ring. Show sent Punk off the apron then went to Chokeslam Swagger. Swagger hit a DDT on Show though.

Show rolled over and tagged in Rey, whoe went for a high risk move but Swagger avoided it. Swagger picked up Rey and went for Gutwrench Powerbomb. Rey countered it into a slam takedown for the surprise pinfall victory.

Winners: Rey Mysterio & Big Show win via pinfall over Jack Swagger & CM Punk.

After the match, Kane's pyro went off. He stormed down the ramp and knocked down Gallows, then got in the ring. Kane chokeslammed Swagger, kicked Show on the outside, then chokeslammed CM Punk. Next he went over to Rey Mysterio and Tombstoned him. Kane picked up a mic and said one of them is already in Hell and doesn't even know it. He said this Sunday will be a fatal night for the guilty party. Kane raised up his arms then brought them down to make the ringposts explode. He turned his head up to look at the top of the ramp where an open coffin was set. Kane got down on one knee with his palm up like the Undertaker and faced the coffin as flames went up around it. Smackdown ended.

Raw Revelations - NXT crew roughs up Bret Hart!

On Monday Night Raw this past week, Wade Barrett and his NXT crew were back in the ring. This time it was because Barrett said Raw GM Bret Hart demanded an apology. Instead of an apology, Barrett and company all stood behind what they did, saying they were treated like animals on NXT so that's how they acted on Raw. Barrett said they made a statement that has everyone still talking, but that it wasn't just about John Cena. From there, Bret Hart came out to the ramp, and listened as David Otunga presented a list of demands they had, or things would keep getting worse. Those demands included WWE contracts for all of them, fancy dressing rooms and travel accommodations.

Hart laughed off their requests, and then proceeded to fire Wade Barrett. He told the rest of the NXT troop to hit the road, or he'd bring the cops in. Of course we all saw what happened later in the show. Cena called them all out, then had backup from the Raw roster as they drove off the NXT stars. Later still, during the main event, the arena went dark while the entire Raw roster was up on stage to protect the inner arena and main event tag teams (Cena/Orton vs Sheamus/Edge). That left the backstage unprotected, where the NXT guys ripped apart the equipment and kidnapped the GM. They loaded Bret Hart into a limo so it could crash around the garage and shake him up. The show closed with Barrett telling Hart they want an answer by Sunday, most likely about getting all his NXT cronies signed to WWE contracts.

I think we can fully expect to see the NXT guys signed to WWE contracts. It's a good storyline (although it's been done before with WCW), but again it makes the whole NXT competition seem pointless. Why make fans sit through weeks of real time competitions, if all of the guys will end up being part of WWE anyways? The competitions they had between one another were definitely not staged. Was the point just to preview them all so the fans could adjust and be ready for this new angle? I think many of the guys will work well in WWE though, so we'll have to see what Bret Hart decides to do, and what it brings forth with the NXT stars. Having new guys for fresh matches won't hurt at all.

Another issue - The explanation of why Daniel Bryan wasn't part of the NXT crew any more was that "he showed remorse". Barrett said he won't be seen with them ever again. Is that supposed to mean, they ordered a hit on Daniel Bryan Mafia style, or gave him concrete shoes and dropped him in the ocean? I think a much better explanation could have been used with Michael Cole saying he pressed charges and Bryan isn't allowed near him due to a restraining order. Or even that Bryan was arrested and had pending legal charges. At least that would tie several loose threads together. The whole Daniel Bryan attack on Michael Cole makes more sense that way too, but the writers chose their way. It also would have given Bryan a way back in to WWE. Even John Cena seems in favor of him being around.

As for Season 2 of NXT, it's been better than Season 1 so far. There's been more interactions with Pros and Rookies and some of the new talent is very intriguing. I like the variety of personalities of these guys more so than most of Season 1. Again, many of these latest NXT rookies seem like they have potential for a future WWE gig. My early favorites would have to be Alex Riley, Eli Cottonwood, Kuval and Michael McGillicutty. I can see the fans favoring Percy Watson or Kuval. Kuval got some oohs and ahs out of the crowd Tuesday night despite losing to Riley who seems like a good heel. Michael McG looked good with his finisher, but he really needs to change up the name though. It's a doozy, especially for those of us recapping his matches!

Tuesday's episode of NXT had a good close with Cody Rhodes knocking host Matt Striker down. Wonder if anything will come out of this from Matt Striker, or if he'll stick to commentary and hosting?

We're heading towards the Fatal 4Way PPV full speed, so there should be plenty to come on Friday's Smackdown and possibly Superstars. Stay tuned for the blog's predictions for this Sunday's big PPV event!

Raw Results 06/14/10

Raw Results from Charlotte, NC:

Raw opened with highlights from last week's main event, where John Cena faced CM Punk. Wade Barrett arrived to the ramp and came closer to the ring, then was joined by his former NXT competitors from Season 1. They surrounded the ring and gave Cena a beatdown, then proceeded to dismantle the ring and surrounding Raw set. Others were attacked including Jerry Lawler, Matt Striker, Justin Roberts and the referee. Cena was taken out on a stretcher but gave the thumbs up sign up on the ramp.

NXT winner Wade Barrett was in the ring to start off Monday Night Raw. He introduced himself to the booing fans, and said he's in the ring because the GM of Raw demanded he come and apologize for last week. Barrett said he'd like the rest of the NXT athletes to come down so they can do it properly. The other guys came down from the crowd. Everyone from NXT season 1 arrived to the ring except Daniel Bryan who was recently fired by WWE.

Jerry Lawler had Michael Cole and the other WWE staff near ringside all take off through the audience, fearing for their safety. Barrett gave the mic to each guy asking for an apology, but they all said "no way" and said they'd do it over again. Otunga said he won't apologize after the way they were treated, he said "they need to apologize to us." Barrett said they were all treated like dirt and animals on NXT. He cited the silly challenges they had to do, and the WWE management changing rules to eliminate contestants on a whim.

As Barrett kept bragging about what they did last week, Bret Hart's music hit and the Raw GM came out to talk. Hart said 8 guys on 1 makes them cowards. He talked about them beating up Cena, Punk and all the others. Wade Barrett brought up Daniel Bryan saying he actually had some remorse over the whole thing. Barrett said "let me assure you, you'll never see Daniel Bryan here again". Bret Hart told Barrett that John Cena will be ready to go for this Sunday's Fatal 4Way PPV.

Barrett brought up how he gets a WWE contract and a WWE title match at a Pay-Per-View of his choice. Barrett said the other NXT guys have demands of their own. Otunga said they all want WWE contracts, their own dressing rooms and 1st class travel accommodations. Otunga said if Hart fails to comply, then last week was just the start. Barrett said Hart can make history by giving these guys contracts. Hart said his answer is "NO". Barrett said he's making a big mistake, but Hart said he made the mistake. Hart told Barrett he was fired too and suggested the other guys all leave the ring or he'll call the police in. Raw went to commercial break with them still in the ring.

Raw returned with Lawler and Cole back in the commentary positions. They said it was good to see those NXT guys get tossed out by Hart, then turned the discussion to Fatal 4Way PPV. Lawler said there's no better demo then to have a Fatal Fourway match as a preview tonight and it will be for the United States Title.

John Morrison vs. The Miz vs. Zack Ryder vs. R-Truth
US Title Fatal Fourway match

In the closing moments, Ryder hit the Rough Ryder leg drop on Truth near the corner and took a pin. Morrison rushed over and kicked Ryder off, causing him to roll outside. From there, Morrison hesitated a moment but noticed Truth right in position for his finisher. He went for Starship Pain and hit it, then took the pin. The Miz rushed over and tossed Morrison out of the ring, then stole the winning pinfall to win the title.

Winner: The Miz wins via pinfall over R-Truth to win the United States Championship.

Josh Matthews interviewed Randy Orton backstage, asking the status of his shoulder for Fatal 4Way. Orton said to watch and see what happens to Sheamus later on. Josh asked Orton for his thoughts on what NXT did last week and tonight. Orton said part of him respects them trying to get noticed, but a bigger part of him thinks they deserve to have their brains beaten in and got off lucky for what they did.

Tonight's guest host is Mark Feurestein of "Royal Pains" from USA. This week's episode will guest star WWE's The Big Show. Behind-the-scenes footage was shown on Show's work, where he will play a horror film star. The episode airs this Thursday on USA at 10PM EST.

The Bella Twins were backstage with guest host Mark Feurestein. They were cozying up to him as he suggested they could play twins on his TV show. Just then, Ted Dibiase and Virgil came up behind Feurestein. Dibiase suggested there could be a new shiny car out there for him if he makes him co-guest host tonight. Feurestein said "no way", and admitted he was scared of him. Just then, Big Show showed up behind them, so Feurestein started talking trash. Finally Show butted in and asked for a main event tag match: Mark & The Big Show against Ted Dibiase & Virgil. Dibiase and Virgil left, so Feurestein started celebrating with Big Show. Feurestein showed off his ice skating moves and jumped up into Show's arms. The Bella Twins were nearby and gave strange looks then said bye.

John Cena was shown walking backstage on the way out to the ring.

They showed highlights from last week's Viewer's Choice Bodyslam challenge between Chris Jericho and Big Show. Big Show won with the bodyslam, but then won by the other two methods by making Jericho submit and tossing him over the top rope.

Evan Bourne vs. Chris Jericho

Cole said a few weeks ago a star was "Bourne" Evan Bourne, when he teamed with John Cena to take on Edge and Sheamus. Michael Cole rattled off that last week on Monday night, WWE.com had more visitors than NBA.com, MLB.com and ABC.com.

Late in the match, Bourne escaped from Walls of Jericho, then went for a unique cover with Jericho kicking out. Jericho hit Codebreaker, then took the pin with Evan Bourne kicking out of it. Jericho was shocked and started beating on Bourne near the ropes. Jericho kept attacking despite the ref warning him. Jericho threatened to punch the ref, so the ref said to ring the bell.

Jericho went back over at Bourne who was on the apron. Bourne got a high kick to Jericho's head to knock him down, then climbed up to the corner and hit Air Bourne.

Winner: Evan Bourne wins due to disqualification of Chris Jericho.

John Cena made his way down to the ring for a speech, making his return after last week's attack from the NXT guys. They replayed Bret Hart firing Barrett and the other NXT guys earlier. Cena thanked Bret Hart for what he did earlier. He talked about being used to being a target in the WWE, because nobody wears a bigger target. He said there plan was almost brilliant, but their genius was blinded by ignorance. John Cena said he won't press charges against the NXT guys but wants to finish this with each and every one of them.

Just then, the NXT guys came down through the crowd. Cena got ready for a fight. He was soon joined by other guys from the Raw locker room: Regal, Santino, Mark Henry, Edge, Sheamus, Orton, Evan Bourne and R-Truth all came down to aid Cena. They gave the NXT a beatdown in the ring and drove them off into the crowd. The NXT guys were shown running out of the arena as Raw went to commercials.

Sheamus was walking backstage when Josh Matthews caught up to him. Josh asked why he just came out to help John Cena. Sheamus said he's not going to let a bunch of NXT guys ruin his WWE Championship match at Fatal 4Way. He said if anyone's going to take out Cena, it's him.

WWE Rewind showed the Viewer's Choice match for the Divas. It was overwhelmingly a divas battle royal. It came down to Eve, Jillian and Maryse. Maryse and Jillian worked on Eve and eliminated her. Jillian held up Maryse's arm, but got kicked in the gut and tossed out of the ring.

Eve Torres & Gail Kim vs. Maryse &

They announced another Fatal 4Way match with Eve defending the Divas title against Gail, Alicia Fox and Maryse at the PPV this Sunday.

Late in the match, Maryse and Alicia worked the doubleteam on Eve. Eve dodged a kick from Alicia, causing Fox to kick Maryse off the apron. With Maryse taken out, Eve hit a neckbreaker on Alicia for the pinfall win. Maryse held her chin outside the ring. Gail Kim picked up the Divas title, eyed it, then handed it to Eve.

Winners: Gail Kim & Eve win via pinfall over Maryse & Alicia Fox.

Cole and Lawler started talking up the Fatal 4Way, saying another match has been added with The Miz required to defend the US Title against R-Truth on Sunday.

Lawler said they also changed the main event to a tag match, with Cena and Orton teaming up to face Sheamus and Edge.

They showed host Mark Feurestein backstage doing a chest bump with Big Show.

ark Feurestein & Big Show vs. Ted Dibiase & Virgil

Cole reminded fans Big Show will be part of the Fatal 4Way match for the World Title with Jack Swagger, CM Punk and Rey Mysterio. Show got on the mic in the ring and introduced the guest host for Raw and his tag partner, Mark Feuerestein.

Dibiase tried his best against Big Show but at one point tagged in Virgil. Virgil didn't want any part of Show and got down off the apron. Big Show grabbed Virgil by the head and pulled him up onto the apron then tossed him into the ring. Virgil was able to roll to the outside, but Feuerstein rushed over and grabbed him then threw Virgil back in for Show Show gave Virgil a chest chop in the corner, then chokeslammed him down. Show pointed to Feuerstein then tagged him in. He did "The Worm" then an elbow drop which didn't really connect, but Virgil was still out for the pin.

Show and Feuerstein left the ring. Dibiase got in and looked down at Virgil who was flat on his back on the mat. He picked up his belt and prepared to leave, then turned back. He put a bill in Virgil's mouth a la his dad's old move. Dibiase then turned back again, went over and took the money before leaving.

Winners: Mark Feuerstein & The Big Show win via pinfall over Ted Dibiase & Virgil.

Santino Marella vs. William Regal
Special guest referee Vladimir Kozlov

Kozlov officiated the match between Santino and Regal, with Regal getting the upperhand early on. Regal went for what looked like a backdrop, but Santino turned it into a Sunset Flip pinfall. It appeared Santino had a handful of tights so Regal kept arguing with Vladimir after the decision. Santino celebrated outside the ring.

Winner: Santino Marella wins via pinfall over William Regal.

Bret Hart arrived out to the top of the stage. He told Regal, Kozlov and Santino to all come stand up on stage with him. Hart said he's not going to let history repeat itself, so he had every member of the Raw roster come out to the staged for the main event. Hart Dynasty, The Usos, Morrison, Dibiase, Khali, Henry and others all lined up at the top of the ramp.

A WWE Did You Know? fact came up when Raw returned stating that last Monday for Viewer's Choice Night the website WWE.com had more visits than: MLB.com, NFL.com, MTV.com, Apple.com, NBA.com and Disney.com.

The members of the Raw roster were up on stage for the main event. Edge arrived out first and nodded to Mark Henry and Great Khali then made his way to the ring. Next out was Sheamus, followed by Randy Orton and finally the champ, John Cena. Cena came onto the stage, then turned around to salute the Raw roster members for being there.

Randy Orton & John Cena vs. Edge & Sheamus

Early in the match, Orton gained momentum after a backbreaker on Edge. He went for the RKO, but Edge shoved Orton away then scurried out of the ring as Raw went to commercial.

After break, things went haywire. Orton managed to make a hot tag to Cena, who came in and started to go wild in the ring. Cole called it "vintage John Cena". Suddenly, the arena lights went dark. The cameras cut backstage where the NXT guys had returned to the arena. They started throwing around and knocking over equipment backstage, destroying the place.

Somehow they had Bret Hart and dragged him down the hall. Two of the NXT guys loaded him into the back of a waiting limosine, then told it to take off. The limo started going in reverse to back up, screeching its tires. It hit another car on the way out, then kept driving around and crashing into other cars in the parking garage. Barrett opened the door and they pulled Hart out. He told Bret his brains rattled now, they want an answer by Sunday. They left him propped up against the car they backed up into.

Winners: No contest, match never ended due to NXT invasion backstage.

Smackdown Results 06/11/10

Smackdown Results from Tampa, FL:

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker reminded fans that Fatal 4Way is a week from Sunday with Jack Swagger defending against CM Punk, Big Show and Rey Mysterio. Tonight CM Punk faces Big Show for the first time ever and Rey Mysterio faces Jack Swagger for his first time.

Mysterio arrived out first and grabbed a mic for an in-ring speech. Mysterio spoke about winning last week's battle royal to get into the Fatal 4way for the World Championship. He said when he wins it, it will be "our World Mysterio started to speak in Spanish but was interrupted by Swagger's music.

Swagger got into the ring to confront Rey saying he didn't earn anything. Swagger told him he capitalizes on the misfortune of others, including The Undertaker. He said he spent countless hours studying wrestling and doing drills because he knew he'd be a World Champ one day. Rey told Swagger all his higher education went to waste because all the stuff he just said was "stupid". Rey told Swagger it will take just one 6-1-9 to win the title. Just then, CM Punk and the SES arrived out.

Punk had a mic in hand as he and SES walked down the ramp. Punk discussed how he was attacked on Raw by about 36 assailants, almost assassinated. Punk said he's not a normal man like Swagger or Rey, he's extraordinary. He said he's the only straight edge 3 time champ in WWE history. He said he'll make it 4 times at Fatal 4Way. Rey told him he needs to show some dignity and remove his mask to show his baldness. Punk told Rey he's calling the kettle black since he wears a mask all the time.

Big Show came out next to get in the convo. Show said he's going to walk into Fatal 4Way and beat the three others up, then walk out with the World Title. He asked Punk why he's keeping a mask on, since Show said he's bald and it looks good on him. Show said maybe he'll do him a favor later and just yank his mask off. Punk told him he won't be winning at Fatal 4Way and he won't get his mask off tonight.

Just then the arena went dark but red lights stayed on the ring. Kane appeared on the Titantron and threatened to find out which of the guys in the ring attacked his brother The Undertaker. He said whoever did it, will wind up in a casket. Kane yelled "There will be Vengeance!"

Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger

Swagger hit a big boot kick late in the match and went for the pin. Rey barely kicked out of it. Swagger went for the Gutwrench Powerbomb, but Rey flipped out and was able to connect with a spinning move to send Swagger against the ropes. Rey connected with 619 to Swagger's gut, the hit a springboard dropkick to send Swagger against the other ropes. Rey hit 619 to his face this time, then did a springboard leg drop for the win.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via pinfall over Jack Swagger.

Mysterio was celebrating in the ring, but Swagger knocked him down from behind. Swagger kept attacking Mysterio, but Kane's pyro went off. Kane walked down the ramp to the ring, and Swagger kept up the beatdown on Rey. Swagger tossed Rey shoulder first into the ringpost. As he turned, Kane grabbed him around the neck and Chokeslammed him down. He saw Rey on the mat and grabbed him for a Chokeslam as well, then left the ring backing up the ramp to survey the damage.

vs. Layla

Michelle and Layla arrived to the ring with their NXT rookie Kuval. They tossed their sweatshirt jackets on Kuval as they made their way to the ring. In the ring, they both put their championship belts on his shoulder. Michelle and Layla started calling the audience ugly, but Michelle said her parents are out there. The camera showed them. Team LayCool said they can give makeovers to audience members. Just then, Tiffany's music hit to interrupt. She came to the ring with Kelly Kelly.

Late in the match, Tiffany gained momentum as she jumped up on the corner to punch on Layla a few times. Layla shoved her back then went for her, but Tiffany grabbed her into a small package. Layla kicked out. Michelle McCool got up on the apron as a distraction, but Tiffany rushed over to knock her off. As she turned around, Layla caught her with the "Layout" a neckbreaker for the finish.

Winner: Layla wins via pinfall over Tiffany.

Christian was introduced for the next match of the evening. As he was in the ring posing, Vickie Guerrero came out to the ramp with her "Excuse me!" phrase to get the crowd going. She said it's her pleasure to introduce the Future of the WWE, a man who is mesmerizing in many, many ways- Dolph Ziggler. Vickie walked Ziggler down the ramp holding onto his arm.

Christian vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler had a near fall late in the match with Christian escaping. Ziggler came back with a leg drop to drive Christian face first to the mat for another near fall. Vickie yelled at the ref to count it faster. Ziggler rushed at Christian in the corner, where Christian avoided then hit the Pendulum kick. Christian had a flying uppercut and went for Killswitch. Ziggler countered and put a sleeperhold on him. Christian managed to thrust his weight at the corner causing Ziggler to hit the corner. From there, Captain Charisma hit the Sunset Flip pinfall from the corner to win.

As Christian was celebrating, he got attacked in the ring by Curt Hawkins and Vance Archer. They each did their finishing moves on Christian. They left the ring with Hawkins yelling "that's how it's done" as they backed up the ramp. Ziggler got into the ring eyeing Christian. He stood him up and locked the sleeperhold on to put Christian down. Vickie smiled approvingly from ringside then got into the ring to congratulate Ziggler and hug him.

Winner: Christian wins via pinfall over Dolph Ziggler.

They showed Kane backstage talking to a casket which was supposed to be The Undertaker's. He said he'll never let the fire be extinguished because all his life he's had him as a guide. Kane said now that he's gone his soul is empty and hollow. He said his soul is tortured, but the souls of the assailant's will also be tortured. He said their souls will be damned to hell.

Drew McIntyre arrived down to the ring dressed in a suit. He grabbed a mic and angrily demanded that Teddy Long get out there now. Drew threw his jacket down in the ring and yelled for Teddy to come out now. Teddy's music hit and he walked down to the ramp. Teddy started to say something but Drew told him to watch the Titantron and speak when he's told to. Highlights were shown from the Intercontinental title match where Kofi retained the title against Drew. Striker said Matt Hardy's presence in the audience distracted McIntyre.

Drew had the Monday Night Raw footage shown next, where the fans voted a Mystery Man to face Drew on Raw. The mystery man was Matt Hardy, who Teddy Long said was suspended from Smackdown but not Raw. Hardy won the match then kept attacking Drew, even pulling some of Drew's hair out.

Drew said when it comes to Viewer's Choice he is the only choice, "The Chosen One". Drew said he'll have to do Teddy's job again. Drew said per Vincent Kennedy McMahon Matt Hardy is suspended from all WWE programming, not just Smackdown. Teddy started to talk, but Drew ripped his mic away and threw it out of the ring. He told Teddy to look at his face so he can see his expression when he gets the latest news. Drew prepared to say something but Kofi Kingston's music hit.

Kofi came out to the ramp with a mic in hand. Kofi said he's sick of hearing Drew complain each week and throwing tantrums when he doesn't get his way. Kofi said everyone is sick of it, including the crowd, the popcorn man, the vendors and everyone else. Kofi said on behalf of the WWE Universe he's telling him to shut up.

Kofi told Drew they're opposites, because Kofi earns things like the IC title like a man. He said when he dislikes someone, like Drew, he does something about, like this. Kofi clocked him with the mic and started to attack. Drew rolled on top of him and eventually out of the ring. Drew jumped back on the apron but received a Trouble in Paradise kick from Kofi. Drew was layed outside the ring as Kofi posed on the ring.

Big Show vs. CM Punk

Punk tried to dodge Show several times and threw some punches. Show just shoved Punk down. Punk started dancing around Show trying to kick at Big Show. He finally ducked out under the ropes to avoid Show. Finally Punk came back with a series of kicks. Punk climbed up on the corner. Show recovered and screamed at Punk "come on, I dare ya, come on!!!" Punk climbed down and hopped outside the ring to regroup with SES as Smackdown went to break.

Show was in control out of the break and hit a massive chest slap on Punk. The fans chanted "take it off" for Show to remove the mask. Punk escaped though. Show set up the Chokeslam and grabbed Punk's throat. He teased the Chokeslam then put Punk down on the mat on his knees. Show grabbed the mask and started to pull on it. Luke Gallows, Serena and the SES mystery man all rushed in to end the match and save Punk. Gallows and Mystery Man were able to get Show down on his knees for Punk to kick in the head. Show was down on the mat to get more beatdown.

The attack continued with Punk instructing Serena to run over and kick Show in the gut. All of a sudden, Kane's pyro exploded again. Punk, Gallows and Mystery Man kept attacking, but Kane came down the ramp, then rushed into the ring. SES tried to attack, but Kane chokeslammed the Mystery man, then Gallows. He looked over as Big Show was getting up. Show stood and Kane grabbed him around the throat, then Chokeslammed him. Grisham called it a 500lb chokeslam.

Smackdown ended with Kane in the darkened fiery ring and CM Punk looking terrified up on the ramp with Serena. Grisham said Fatal 4way is a week from Sunday.

Winner: Big Show wins due to disqualification of CM Punk when StraightEdge society attacked.

Smackdown Preview 06.11.10

Tonight's Smackdown will pair off the four guys involved in this month's Fatal 4-Way match for the World Championship title. In one match, we'll see CM Punk back in action just a few nights after suffering a vicious attack on Raw from the NXT season 1 competitors. Luke Gallows recently appeared on WWE Superstars and seemed in good condition, but how will CM Punk do? His opponent tonight is no slouch, as he'll be facing The World's Largest Athlete, The Big Show. Will Punk find a way to overcome his injuries and defeat this massive foe? Or will Big Show get the quick and easy victory?

In the other half of the Fatal 4-Way matches, World Champion Jack Swagger will face off against Rey Mysterio. Mysterio just recently earned his spot in the Fatal 4-Way match after The Undertaker was mysteriously attacked and unable to compete. Meanwhile, Swagger has continued to hold onto the World Title despite challenges from Randy Orton, Big Show, Edge and Chris Jericho. Tonight will be a non-title match, but will Mysterio be able to earn a pinfall against the champ, or will Swagger prove his worth in the ring?

And finally the mystery will continue as to who attacked Undertaker on Memorial Day weekend. We saw The Big Red Monster Kane taking out his frustration by confronting just about every superstar he could find on Smackdown and Raw. Kane was also one of the final competitors in the Smackdown Battle Royal, only to be eliminated by Rey Mysterio last. On Raw, Kane was voted in by the fans to face The Celtic Warrior Sheamus, but Sheamus hit the road and got counted out. Will Kane be given another opponent tonight to take out his frustrations, or will he find one himself?

Raw Preview 06.06.10

Tonight's Raw will be a special 3-hour edition of the show featuring both the rosters of Raw and Smackdown. It's "Viewers Choice Night" on the show, which means the WWE Universe will be in charge, deciding on who's wrestling, what the stipulations and matches are and more! Fans can head to WWE.com today to determine the various aspects of tonight's episode of WWE Raw. Also, the show will be hosted by not one, but four guest hosts, the stars of the upcoming "A-Team" film!

Last week's Raw saw several altercations go down involving the participants of the upcoming Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE title. Most significant was the altercations between Edge and Randy Orton, two heated rivals. In the opening moments of the show, Edge gave a beatdown to Evan Bourne for interrupting his in-ring speech. However, the Viper came out to strike and saved Bourne. Later in the night, Edge retaliated backstage by hiding in Orton's locker room, then slamming the door against Orton's hurt shoulder. Due to that, Orton couldn't fight in a scheduled tag match with John Cena against Edge and Sheamus. Will Orton be healed up for tonight's show or still unable to go?

Due to the altercation involving Orton and Edge, it left Cena without a partner for the tag match. It looked like Cena would have to go at it against Sheamus and Edge by himself, but Cena found a tag partner with serious skills. Evan "Air" Bourne joined Cena in the main event and got his time in the spotlight. Bourne pulled off the win thanks to a Cena Attitude Adjustment. After Air Bourne had been completed, it was Cena and Evan enjoying victory. Will Bourne continue to rise high on tonight's show, or will one of Cena's opponents strike back?

Catch the special 3-hour edition of Raw starting at 8PM EST on USA!

Undertaker not dead, out of Fatal 4-Way

In WWE News and a Smackdown/Fatal 4-Way update, The Undertaker was out of action Friday night. In fact the theme of Friday's Smackdown was that the Undertaker had been found in a "vegetative state" by brother Kane, and that an investigation was ongoing into "who or what" perpetrated the attack. Kane made it his mission on the show to confront the prime suspects, the other guys in Fatal 4-Way's World Title match, and of course Rey Mysterio who lost to Taker last week.

According to Wrestling Observer, this is due to the injuries Undertaker suffered while fighting Rey Mysterio in last week's qualifying match on the 5/30 airing of Smackdown. Reportedly, Taker suffered a broken nose, broken orbital bone and a concussion all in that one match. It may have been the result of the seated senton move Mysterio did on him. If you saw the conclusion of the match, you noticed Taker's bloody nose.

When first reported, they were unsure if Taker would still be in the Fatal 4-Way match. We now know as of Smackdown he is unable to go. Kane claimed we won't see Undertaker walk amongst the living any longer, and they made it almost like a funeral. We've seen Undertaker dead, buried and rise again many times though. Kane is planning to put whoever did this into their own living nightmarish hell. Meanwhile, GM Teddy Long had everyone on the roster excluding the divas and guys in the Fatal 4-Way match, compete in a Battle Royal. It came down to Kane vs Rey Mysterio, with Mysterio able to elude the Chokeslam and headscissor toss Kane to the outside. Mysterio now takes Undertaker's place at Fatal 4-Way in the title match with Big Show, CM Punk and defending champ, Jack Swagger.

It's an interesting storyline they're using and I'm wondering how much time they'll give Undertaker off. Who do you believe is behind this? Kane showed some serious acting range, but it's always possible one destructive Brother doublecrossed the other!

Smackdown Results 06/04/10

Smackdown recap from Dallas, TX:

Smackdown opened with General Manager Teddy Long on camera backstage for a special announcement. He said over Memorial Day weekend, The Undertaker was found "in a vegetative state" by his brother Kane. Long said there's an ongoing investigation to find who or what was responsible for this attack. The Smackdown intro video kicked off from there.

Grisham and Striker were on hand for the commentary. They reiterated what Teddy Long had just announced, and reminded fans of Drew McIntyre's rematch for the Intercontinental title tonight against Kofi Kingston.

The arena went dark and the ominous druid theme music came on. Eight hooded and fully-cloaked druids came out from backstage carrying a coffin which they placed at ringside. After several moments with the druids standing around the ringside area, Kane's pyro exploded and the Big Red Monster arrived to the ring.

A podium with a mic was set up in the ring along with a wreath as if it were some sort of funeral. Kane backed away for a moment to collect himself, then told druids to open the coffin. He walked over and looked at the empty coffin and seemed upset. As ominous music kept going, Kane talked on the mic saying the most feared and respected force in WWE, his brother The Undertaker will no longer walk amongst them. Kane delivered a sort of eulogy about Undertaker's reign of darkness in WWE coming to an end. He made it sound as if an icon and their bond of brotherhood was "gone forever".

Kane said his brother will rise from the dead no more. He said soon those responsible will also be gone, as he will commit them to the depths of hell, a torturous existence they can't start to fathom. Kane was now screaming that there will be Vengeance never before seen, felt or imagined. Kane shoved the mic and podium down in a rage then knelt down like his brother's classic ring pose. Kane crawled over to the ropes near the coffin crying, saying he should have been there for him.

Smackdown returned with Grisham talking about the somber and chilling mood in the air after Kane's talk in the ring. Tony Chimel introduced World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger. Swagger came out wearing an Oklahoma Sooners football jersey. Striker and Grisham said they don't know who will take the place of Undertaker at Fatal 4-Way if anyone.

MVP vs. Jack Swagger

Late in the match, MVP hit a Fisherman's Buster for a pinfall, but Swagger kicked out. From there, MVP stood Swagger up, with Swagger countering his move and hitting a Belly-to-Belly suplex for his own near fall. In the closing moments, Swagger went for his running Vader Bomb move on MVP near the corner. MVP got up and swiped Swagger's leg to make him hit the mat face first. Swagger stood up in the corner and MVP charged for his running kick. However, Swagger moved out of the way then got a school pinfall on MVP for the win.

Swagger escaped to the outside and grabbed his title to head up the ramp, with MVP on his feet in the ring. Just then, Curt Hawkins rushed into the ring and attacked MVP from behind. MVP staved off the attack, but soon Vance Archer was there to give him a boot kick. Archer hit his inverted DDT to bring MVP down, then Hawkins did a flying elbow off the ropes on him.

Winner: Jack Swagger wins via pinfall over MVP.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero walked into Teddy Long's office and told him as GM he needs to get ahold of himself. Vickie said Teddy needs to take action to find a replacement for Undertaker at the Fatal 4-Way. As consultant, she suggested Dolph Ziggler as the guy to take Taker's spot in the match. Long then said every man on the roster will get an opportunity, and compete in a Smackdown battle royal tonight for the spot.

Smackdown returned with Striker leading into highlights from the WWE NXT finale show, where it was down to Justin Gabriel, David Otunga and Wade Barrett. They competed in a Triple Threat which Barrett won, and he later was named winner of NXT in the Pros Poll.

CM Punk was putting his mask on backstage in a locker room, when Kane smashed the door in and grabbed him. He started yelling at Punk and asked "Did you do it?" Punk said he and the SES had no connection, but offered their services to help a fallen brother. Kane said "Brother" and then shoved Punk out of the way. Smackdown went to a commercial with Kane fuming.

Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston
Intercontinental Title match

During the match, as Drew was dominating Kofi, Matt Hardy was shown walking down stairs in the arena with a ticket in hand. Matt had been suspended last week per Drew's note from Vince McMahon to Teddy Long. Hardy held up a ticket to show off as the fans chanted for him and Drew glared out at him at ringside.

Matt applauded for Kofi Kingston once he had knocked Drew down outside the ring. Drew took over outside by smashing Kofi into the steel steps then hit a suplex on the floor with Matt watching.

At one point in the action, McIntyre dodged Kingston outside the ring when Kofi jumped over the rings at him. Drew backed up a bit then threw a backhand at Matt Hardy to knock him down front row. Drew tossed Kofi back into the ring, as Matt tried to climb over the crowd barrier. Several security guys came over to restrain him. Back in the ring, Kofi countered Drew's move with the SOS to bring Drew down for a winning pin.

After Kofi's victory, Matt pretended to walk away casually then turned and got by the security. Matt got into the ring and hit a Twist of Fate to take Drew down. Security chased Matt into the crowd and out of the arena.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Drew McIntyre to retain the Intercontinental Championship.

Kane was shown in the locker room kneeling down in a moment of silence. Rey Mysterio was shown nearby kneeling with him and started to offer a prayer for Undertaker. Kane became upset and said he doesn't need Rey's sympathy, then said maybe Rey had something to do with what happened since he lost to Undertaker last week. Rey said he had nothing to do with it, but Kane wasn't accepting it. Rey backed away out of the locker room.

Smackdown returned with World Champ Jack Swagger backstage, belt on his shoulder. Swagger said in the state of Texas, the University of Oklahoma invented "Swagger". He talked about starting all four years for the Oklahoma Sooners, and how they beat the Texas Longhorns all four years. Swagger told everyone to stand up so he could sing the University of Oklahoma fight song. He began to sing "Boomer Sooner" with a bouncing ball on the screen for the words, until Kane walked up. The song ended as Kane asked "was it you?"

Kelly Kelly vs. Rosa Mendes

Michelle and Layla came out to the top of the stage to watch/distract Kelly during the match. That allowed Rosa to gain control. Rosa hit a suplex for a near fall. Rosa put a headscissors on Kelly down on the mat to wear her down. As Rosa got up and ran against the ropes, Kelly jumped on her and started pounding her head to the mat.

Kelly went on a tear with the momentum. Rosa whipped her to the corner, but Kelly hit her on the charge, then jumped with a splash pin. In the end, Kelly kicked Rosa in the gut and then drove her to the mat face first with her leg on Rosa's neck. The co-Women's champs Team LayCool was shocked up on the ramp with Kelly smiling out at them.

Winner: Kelly Kelly wins via pinfall over Rosa Mendes.

Big Show was in the locker room with Hornswoggle playing cards and having fun. Kane walked in and Hornswoggle took off running. Kane confronted Big Show saying Taker has always had his number. Show said he had nothing to do with Undertaker's condition. Show told Kane don't accuse him, because it would be a giant mistake. He put a hand on Kane's shoulder, but Kane pulled away then kicked the card table down.

Smackdown roster Battle Royal

The winner of this Smackdown roster Battle Royal would get the final spot in the Fatal 4-Way World Title match, replacing The Undertaker. Rey Mysterio was introduced first. Next was Dolph Ziggler and then Smackdown went to commercial.

When they returned, Luke Gallows, Finlay, Christian, Caylen Croft, Trent Berretta, MVP, JTG, Curt Hawkins, Vance Archer, Chavo and Chris Masters were all in the ring. Drew McIntyre was introduced and came to the Battle Royal next, holding the back of his neck still. Kofi Kingston was introduced next followed by Kane last. Shad Gaspar was missing from the ring of the roster members. Serena and CM Punk were at ringside to watch.

During the match, Mysterio rushed out under the ropes and tried to unmask CM Punk. Luke Gallows came out after him, but Rey ducked and attacked. CM Punk and Serena ran up the ramp, as Rey got back in the ring. Smackdown went to commercial.

A bunch of guys all tried to throw Kane out from the corner. Luke Gallows came over and started attacking them to help Kane get free. Gallows tossed Caylen Croft out of the ring, then Kane knocked Masters to the outside. Berretta was tossed up high over the ropes, nearly landing on his Dude Busters partner outside the ring. JTG was thrown over next. Kane and Gallows met in the center of the ring and started to punch back and forth. Kane took Gallows down with punches and kept punching away. McIntyre and Kofi eliminated each other over the ropes.

It came down to a final three of Rey Mysterio, Kane and Luke Gallows. Kane gave a big boot to Rey to knock him down, then went after Gallows. Near the ropes, Kane prepared for a chokeslam. Suddenly, a hooded mystery man from SES appeared and got on the apron to kick Kane in the back. Kane turned and that allowed Gallows to attack. He tossed Kane over the ropes but Kane held on. From the apron, Kane grabbed the mystery guy and Gallows each by the throat. He shoved mystery man off the apron, then got in the ring and walked Gallows to the other side, pushing him over the top rope.

It was just Rey vs Kane for Undertaker's spot now. The two battled for several minutes, with Rey able to stun Kane a bit. With Rey on the apron, he jumped off the top rope for a move, but Kane grabbed him around the throat. As Kane went for the Chokeslam, Rey turned it into a headscissors to toss Kane out over the top rope. Rey now joins CM Punk, Big Show and Jack Swagger in the World Title Fatal 4-way!

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins the Smackdown roster Battle Royal to become the final participant in Fatal 4-Way's World Title match.

Raw Preview 05.31.10

Tonight will be a special Memorial Day 2010 episode of WWE Raw, hosted by Ashton Kucher star of the upcoming movie "Killers" (movie trailer video). Kucher is no stranger to the WWE as he's a bigtime fan, and has also Punk'd some of the WWE's biggest including The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Stacy Keibler and HHH. However, on tonight's show Kucher will try to keep things under control as the Fatal 4-Way PPV will be on the minds of at least four guys. WWE Champ John Cena now knows that he will defend against three of his toughest opponents in a few weeks: Sheamus, Randy Orton and Edge. How will these superstars prepare for the upcoming title match?

Last week, we also learned there is a new General Manager for WWE Raw, Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Among Hart's first orders of business was setting up the qualifying matches for the Fatal 4-Way WWE Title match spots. Hart also was instrumental in ridding the WWE Universe of Batista, because Batista refused to partcipate in a qualifying match. Hart gave Randy Orton the win and a spot in the WWE Title match due to Batista's forfeit. That lead to Batista's decision to quit. Last week also saw The Hitman put his United States title up for grabs in a match between former champion, The Miz and R-Truth. Truth came out on top to pick up his first major championship in the WWE. Who will step up to the plate and challenge Truth now that he's champ? Will Ted Dibiase continue to go after R-Truth?

Speaking of Dibiase, he now claims he has the funds to buy and do whatever he wants. Last week saw the priceless superstar attempt to buy a talented fan's eyeball. Dibiase has also employed the services of Virgil and gave Santino Marella a taste of Dream Street last week. Marella, who had come to the aid of a fan, was in the wrong place at the wrong time, as Dibiase let him have it. However, Santino is likely to want retribution. Will he get a shot at Dibiase tonight?

Catch tonight's Raw hosted by Ashton Kucher starting at 9PM EST on USA!

Fatal 4-Way PPV matches 2010

Fatal 4-Way will be yet another new Pay-Per-View title for the WWE, coming in June. This event is the followup to May's "Over the Limit" which saw five titles on the line and only one (Intercontinental) changing hands. At Fatal 4-Way we know that the two major titles will be up for grabs in traditional Fatal Fourway matches. Those are four-man, everyone for himself style matches where the champion doesn't have to be pinned to lose the title. It'll be John Cena defending the WWE Title and Jack Swagger defending the World Heavyweight Title. Here's the breakdown of the Fatal 4- Way PPV matches for 2010, so far.

Sheamus vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. John Cena
WWE Title Fatal Fourway

John Cena retained the WWE Championship at Over the Limit by defeating Batista in an "I Quit" match. The following night on Raw, an extremely banged up Batista not only forfeited his chance to be in the WWE title match at Fatal 4-Way, but he also ended up quitting WWE. With that in mind, three new competitors would be lined up for the match against Cena. First up, was Randy Orton who automatically qualified due to Batista forfeiting the match. Next, Sheamus defeated the Worlds Strongest Man, Mark Henry for the third spot. In the main event on that same Raw, Edge, Chris Jericho and Cena competed in a Triple Threat match. Since Edge won it with a spear on Jericho, he was given the final spot in the match. John Cena may have made one of his biggest rivals quit, but now he'll have to contend with three of his toughest opponents from history. Will Randy Orton, Edge or Sheamus walk out of Fatal 4-Way with the WWE Title, or will John Cena hold on to the championship?

CM Punk vs. The Undertaker vs. Big Show vs. Jack Swagger
World Heavyweight Title Fatal Fourway

Over the Limit saw Jack Swagger retain his World Title, but he didn't win the match. Instead, Swagger got himself disqualified by clocking Big Show in the head with the belt. Due to this fact, Smackdown GM Teddy Long automatically put Big Show in the Fatal Fourway match against Swagger. Still, two more opponents would be needed. In one qualifying match on Smackdown, CM Punk defeated Kane after some help from Straight Edge members Luke Gallows and Serena. The second match saw the return of the Undertaker to Smackdown. Rey Mysterio gave him a tough, tough fight, but in the end it was The Undertaker's Tombstone Piledriver sealing Rey's fate. The Undertaker will now be a part of the Fatal Fourway for the World Title he held before Wrestlemania 26. Will the Deadman reclaim the belt, or maybe CM Punk or Big Show brings the title to Smackdown next? Can Jack Swagger find a way to win against these three tough opponents?

WWE's Fatal 4-Way is scheduled for Sunday June 20, 2010 starting at 8PM EST on Pay-Per-View. Results will be continuously updated here at WWE Characters the Blog from 8PM until 11PM EST. See more information about this year's event over at WWE.com, official website of the WWE!
