2012 Royal Rumble Entries & Eliminations

The 2012 Royal Rumble was held in St. Louis, Missouri with a field of 30 participants competing this year.  Last year's event had 40 wrestlers in it, with Alberto Del Rio winning the match, and going on to a Wrestlemania 27 championship match against Edge.

See the complete 2012 Royal Rumble results including the other matches on the card.

This year's event saw all sorts of comical spots, twists, turns, and amazing feats, as well as surprise entries.  All three members of the commentary team entered the Rumble at one point or another (Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, Booker T).  WWE Diva Kharma made her return to the ring to become the third diva to compete in a Rumble.  Other former WWE stars such as Mick Foley, The Road Dogg Jesse James, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan were also part of the match.

However, there could only be one true winner and this year's was The Celtic Warrior Sheamus.  Sheamus arrived at the 22nd spot for the match, and managed to last until the end, facing Chris Jericho.  Jericho and Sheamus went back and forth, nearly eliminating each other.  Finally, Sheamus was able to block the Codebreaker and put Jericho over the top rope.  Despite Jericho hanging on and getting back to the apron, Sheamus' Brogue Kick sent him to the outside.

Here's a look at all 30 competitors, their entry spots and their order of elimination for the Royal Rumble 2012 edition!

01) The Miz (24th by Big Show)
02) Alex Riley (1st by Miz)
03) R-Truth (2nd by Miz)
04) Cody Rhodes (25th by Big Show)
05) Justin Gabriel (4th by Ricardo Rodriguez/Mick Foley)
06) Primo (3rd by Mick Foley)
07) Mick Foley (8th by Cody Rhodes)
08) Ricardo Rodriguez (5th by Santino Marella)
09) Santino Marella (7th by Cody Rhodes)
10) Epico (6th by Mick Foley)
11) Kofi Kingston (18th by Sheamus)
12) Jerry Lawler (9th by Cody Rhodes)
13) Ezekiel Jackson (11th by Great Khali)
14) Jinder Mahal (10th by Great Khali)
15) The Great Khali (14th by Rhodes & Ziggler)
16) Hunico (16th by Kharma)
17) Booker T (13th by Rhodes & Ziggler)
18) Dolph Ziggler (26th by Big Show)
19) Hacksaw Jim Duggan (12th by Cody Rhodes)
20) Michael Cole (15th by Booker/Lawler/Kharma)
21) Kharma (17th by Ziggler)
22) Sheamus **WINNER**
23) Road Dogg Jesse James (19th by Wade Barrett)
24) Jey Uso (20th by Randy Orton)
25) Jack Swagger (23rd by Sheamus/Big Show)
26) Wade Barrett (21st by Randy Orton)
27) David Otunga (22nd by Chris Jericho)
28) Randy Orton (28th by Jericho)
29) Chris Jericho (29th by Sheamus)
30) Big Show (27th by Orton)

It should be noted that several of the eliminations above were assisted by outside interference.  Michael Cole was technically eliminated by Kharma who was in the ring, but it was his fellow commentators, Lawler and Booker, who yanked him off the apron.  Also, Sheamus was in the middle of pushing Jack Swagger over the top rope, when Big Show made his way to the ring and pulled Swagger to the outside.

Raw Preview 06/06/11

With the Capitol Punishment PPV just two weeks away, it appears John Cena will need an opponent to face him for the WWE Championship. R-Truth has been trying to make a statement, talking about conspiracy theories and picking on fans to get the Raw GM's attention. Last Monday he defeated John Cena by a sneaky countout. Will this win put R-Truth into the #1 Contender spot, or will the GM make him earn the spot another way?

Also, last week it was learned that Alex Riley has been hired to Monday Night Raw. Riley is formerly a Smackdown employee after the WWE Draft, but also a former employee of The Miz. Now it seems that Riley has The Miz's number, as he's been able to get the upperhand on his mentor the last several weeks. Will Riley continue to have Miz's number, or will the mentor school the student this time?

The WWE Divas learned on last week's show that diva Kharma will be out of action after dominating the divas without a match. Kharma announced her pregnancy and then was taunted by The Bella Twins. With Kharma out of the divas picture, will The Bellas continue to safely guard the Divas Championship? Which diva will be the next #1 contender for the title?

Check out Raw tonight at 9PM EST on USA!

Raw Results 05/30/11

Raw Results from Omaha, NE:

The show opened with no audio and audio technicalities as R-Truth was on a rampage. He was backstage tossing apart concession stands and merchandise areas. Truth went out to the audience and found a young kid and his father, calling them Little and Big Jimmy wearing their Cena T-Shirts.

Cena finally came out to the ring to confront Truth, calling him crazy. Cena and Truth were about to go at it, but the anonymous Raw GM sent an email to interrupt. Cole got up to read and announced that the GM had made the match official. He added "there will be no Lil' Jimmies at ringside." Truth asked if it was a joke, then told Cena "you gonna get got" and left the ring.

They looked at footage of Kharma breaking down in tears in the ring last week. Cole said she'll speak live tonight.

Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler

Down the stretch, Kofi went for the SOS, but Ziggler held onto the ropes to knock him down. As Kofi staggered up, Ziggler hit the Zig Zag on him for the big pinfall win. Vickie celebrated as Cole talked about how important a win it was for Ziggler over the US Champion tonight.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall over Kofi Kingston.

Cole questioned Alex Riley's actions against his mentor, The Miz, last week. Cole said he'll find out what was behind it all and get an apology from Riley later tonight.

Ricardo Rodriguez introduced Alberto Del Rio to the crowd. Del Rio drove out in a $100k Audi car, with Cole talking about how they drove around in it earlier. Del Rio talked about what happened to Big Show last week, and they had the footage shown of the tag titles lost to New Nexus, and Show getting run over by Del Rio's car backstage, causing a serious leg injury.

Del Rio had Ricardo speak in Spanish about what happen. Del Rio said Big Show made a mistake and brought all this on himself. He then added that Big Show owes him money for damaging his car so he'll send him a bill. Del Rio then said for Big Show to "get well soon." Lawler and Cole talked over Del Rio's attitude and the damage to Del Rio's car.

They showed the divas warming up backstage for a divas tag match, with Eve and Kelly Kelly vs The Bella Twins.

Eve & Kelly Kelly vs. The Bella Twins

In under 3 minutes, Kelly was able to make a hot tag in to save Eve from the doubleteaming and eventually hit the Rocker Dropper to get the pinfall win.

Winner: Kelly Kelly and Eve win via pinfall over The Bella Twins.

---

Cole interviewed and confronted Alex Riley about what he did to his mentor, brother and father, The Miz last week. Riley eventually snatched away the mic and told Cole to shutup. After Cole called Riley a bastard, Riley shoved him down to the mat and playfully kicked him around. Suddenly, The Miz rushed into the ring behind Riley to attack him.

However, as the fight continued, Riley got the upperhand on his mentor and fought him outside the ring. Eventually Miz took off running through the crowd. Riley got back in the ring and stood tall as the crowd cheered on their newfound hero.

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

In the final stages of this match, Punk and Rey traded counters. Finally, Punk got in an enziguiri kick which was able to drop Rey to the mat, giving Punk the pinfall victory. Punk left the ring celebrating with Mason Ryan.

Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over Rey Mysterio.

WWE Diva Kharma appeared in the ring to talk about her dreams of becoming a WWE Superstar. She said on Season Two of Tough Enough, Jim Ross said she was too fat to be a WWE Diva. She said she took those words with her to Japan to learn to become a wrestling master.

Kharma noted that her other dream was to become a mother, and she is now pregnant. She said it's a high-risk pregnancy, which prevents her from competing in the ring. Kharma thanked everyone for letting her share her dream, then vowed to be back.

The Bella Twins' music hit and they came out to mock Kharma. They said they can't believe she's pregnant because they just thought she was really fat. In the ring, Kharma scared the Bellas, then said she hopes the Bellas are there when she comes back in a year.

---

Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger

Swagger called out Bourne for this match based on what happened last week. Early in the match, Swagger cockily rolled Bourne into the ring from outside then made a pinfall attempt. Bourne escaped it and Swagger did some pushups on Bourne's back. Swagger started to play around and Bourne capitalized, quickly rolling him up for a surprise pinfall. Cole called it a major upset for Bourne. Swagger was visibly upset in the ring.

Winner: Evan Bourne wins via pinfall over Jack Swagger.

---

John Cena vs. R-Truth

In the main event, Cena nearly got the Attitude Adjustment, but Truth escaped it and left the ring. He went into the stands, with Cena chasing after him. Truth clotheslined Cena down hard to the floor. He jumped back over the guardrail then got in the ring to see Cena get counted out.

After the decision was given to Truth, he went back over to the little kid and his dad from the intro of Raw. He took the kid's soda and threw it in the dad's face before taking off. Cena came over and checked on them all, then gave the little boy his armband. Cena was just standing next to the family looking confused as Raw ended.

Winner: R-Truth wins due to countout of John Cena.

What's Up With WWE Diva Kharma?

Quite an interesting past few days with the Pay-Per-View results giving not much in terms of new champions or surprises. The WWE has had some good opportunities to really rev things up, but has failed to do so. One case in point may be WWE Diva Kharma.

Kharma is of course the former TNA Knockout champ, Awesome Kong. For weeks her role has been to interrupt matches on Raw or Smackdown or at PPV's. She's used her finisher on the likes of Eve Torres, Layla and one of the Bella Twins. Kharma was absent from the latest PPV, Over The Limit 2011 though.

Then came Raw. There was an 8 divas tag match involving Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Eve Torres and Beth Phoenix against Melina, Maryse and The Bella Twins. Before the match was a minute or more underway, Kharma interrupted and headed to the ring looking to cause some damage.

Except she didn't do a thing really. She got in the ring, allowed herself to be surrounded by divas and then fell to her knees crying. It puzzled, the divas in the ring, a lot of viewers, and wrestling analysts as to what in the heck was going on. Was Kharma showing her vulnerabilities after weeks of superiority? She went from mighty force to be reckoned with all the way down to babbling baby.

When the Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella match for OTL was put in place, it seemed like Kelly was destined to win the Divas championship. Karma's been eyeing her for weeks, so it made more sense that Kharma would defeat Kelly for the divas title rather than a heel, like Brie. However, Kelly lost at OTL and Kharma never showed up.

So what's up with Kharma? Over at Diva Dirt they ran a poll to have fans vote on what's going on. The popular choice is "It's all an act! She's lulling the Divas into a false sense of security. 47.71% (699 votes)." Coming in 2nd is "It's all an act! She's lulling the Divas into a false sense of security. 47.71% (699 votes)."

One of the comments there suggests that Karma felt ganged up on by "the pretty divas" similar to the pretty girls who used to make fun of her when she was younger. So it's very likely that's why she takes out aggression on pretty dolls and has been admiring Kelly Kelly. They may even become friends, but it just seems to defeat the whole point of weeks of decimating divas in the ring.

If anything, Kharma should've fought off the divas one by one, battle royal style, tossing them out over the ropes. Only problem is, Beth Phoenix seems like the one who could really give a good battle with "Awesome Kong" aka Kharma. Let's hope it's headed that way!

Raw Preview 05/09/11

After last week's Raw featuring a birthday celebration for The Rock, it's hard to imagine what's next for the roster. However, there's sure to be more fallout after last week's other events. That includes R-Truth attacking John Morrison rather than having a one-on-one match in the ring. This feud continues to heat up as the two foes will eventually meet in the ring. Will John Morrison issue a challenge on tonight's show?

Last week also saw the arrival of Kharma on The Raw show. During a match between Kelly Kelly and Maryse, Kharma's eery entrance music started up. The imposing new diva arrived to the ring and in maniacal fashion, decimated Maryse before Kelly's eyes. She left the ring without touching Kelly Kelly, but one has to wonder why Kharma is choosing the divas she is. Will she have her sights set on one diva in particular tonight?

Finally, last week saw John Cena successfully defend the WWE Championship against The Miz, despite Miz and Alex Riley's attempts to cheat. The Miz tried to win it after hitting Cena with the WWE championship belt, but the referee was wise to his game and reversed the decision. Earlier in the night, Cena promised The Rock that he will hold onto the title until they meet at Wrestlemania 28. Who will be the next wrestler on Raw to challenge John Cena?

Catch all the action of WWE Raw tonight at 9PM EST on USA!

Smackdown Results 05/06/11

Smackdown Results from Orlando, FL:

The show opened with brand new champ, Christian, arriving out to celebrate his World Heavyweight Championship. He talked about how great it felt to be champ now and his friend Edge's support. However, Christian was interrupted by Mark Henry, then Great Khali and finally Randy Orton. Each of these three demanded a title shot at the new champ. Smackdown GM Teddy Long came out and told the crowd they could decide. The crowd voted for Randy Orton vs Christian, tonight.

Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan by pinfall in almost 10 minutes after the Brogue Kick.

Cody Rhodes came out to talk about the good news that Rey Mysterio was sent to Raw and can't cause any more malevolence. He had his assistants give paper bags to the audience to hide their hideousness.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Big Show by pinfall after a big clothesline in the ring. The other members of Corre were ringside and beat up on Kane, distracting Show enough to help Jackson get the win. After the win, Jackson left The Corre behind in the ring as he went backstage.

In quick fashion, Layla defeated Alicia Fox by pinfall after hitting her neckbreaker. The match barely lasted more than a minute. Post-match, Kharma arrived to the ring and decimated Alicia Fox after Fox tried to attack her. Layla got away unharmed.

Backstage, The Corre members confronted Ezekiel Jackson about his distancing. It ended up a big fight as Jackson hit Wade Barrett, but then the rest of Corre beat up Zeke. They tipped a huge bin or container onto Jackson, leaving him layed out in the hall area.

Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd via pinfall after hitting the C4. Chavo Guerrero was on commentary during the match and accused Sin Cara of stealing one of his moves during the match. After the bout, Chavo went over and offered a hand shake to Sin Cara who obliged, before the two backed away.

Randy Orton defeated Christian by pinfall to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. The surprising win came when Orton connected on the RKO as Christian was trying for his Sunset Flip pinfall move.

That concludes the latest episode of Smackdown!
