WWE Superstars Results 8/18/11:

Jack Korpela opened the shown on commentary talking about how Summerslam saw plenty of controversy, then pondered on what sort of surprises tonight's Superstars might offer. Wade Barrett arrived to the ring to start the show as Korpela and Striker talked about the events from Summerslam impacting Raw and Smackdown.

Trent Barreta vs. Wade Barrett

Korpela talked about Barrett defeating Bryan at Summerslam and being ranked #18 on the WWE Power rankings. Striker wondered who will be the #1 contender for Randy Orton's championship.
Barrett dominated throughout the early going off this one, eventually tossing Barreta over the top rope. Wade went for a running boot near the barricade but Trent moved, and Wade crotched himself on the barricade. Trent chopped him off there, then did a moonsault type move to take Barrett down. The ref's countout reached 8, but Trent tossed Wade back in and hit a missile dropkick for the near fall.

Late in the match, Trent escaped Wasteland and tried to do his running DDT off the corner. Moments later, Trent ran at Wade and jumped on his shoulders for a move. Wade blocked it, then showed his strength by grabbing and holding Trent in Powerbomb position, then tossing him onto his shoulders. He finished with Wasteland.

Winner: Wade Barrett wins via pinfall over Trent Barreta.

Jose Vargas vs. Brodus Clay

Clay took on another amateur on tonight's Superstars. Brodus with the early beatdown on Vargas, including tossing him up in the air and then hitting multiple elbow drops on the much lighter competitor. Brodus used his foot to jab into Vargas in the corner, then shoved him against the ropes to club down from behind.

Brodus hit a German belly-to-belly suplex for the pinfall, but pulled up at 2. He tossed the guy into the corner and then did a huge running splash on him there. As Vargas staggered from the corner, Brodus ran against the ropes and then flatted him with the flying crossbody splash for the win.

Winner: Brodus Clay wins via pinfall over Jose Vargas.

Scott Stanford and Josh Matthews were now on hand to cover the Raw matches on Superstars. They briefly talked about how exciting Summerslam 2011 was before getting to the match.

Santino Marella vs. Primo

Stanford said this match came about because of Santino's hot girlfriend and how Primo said he only got her because he's a WWE superstar.

Early in the match, Santino hit a big shoulder on Primo, but Primo stayed on his feet. Santino suggested Primo try it, and Santino dropped to the mat then leapfrogged Primo as he came from off the ropes. The two men had an exchange of attempted hip tosses, but both blocked to make for a humorous segment. Later, Santino threatened the Cobra and Primo escaped the ring.

Santino made a late comeback with the hip toss move after dropping down for the James Brown split. Moments later, Primo had the advantage and got on the corner, but got crotched when Santino hit the ropes. Primo hit the mat and as he got up, Santino wound up The Cobra, then struck to KO Primo for the win.

Winner: Santino Marella wins via pinfall over Primo.

They showed a video package about Summerslam Axxess in Hollywood. Sheamus was on Conan's show on TBS. Other superstars featured in the video were The Miz, CM Punk and John Morrison. There was also an anti-bullying campagin featuring Eve Torres, Rey Mysterio and celebs including Jordin Sparks.

Superstars returned with Stanford and Matthews talking about the night after Summerslam on Monday Night Raw when Alberto Del Rio defended his WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio. They showed a replay of the main event from Raw.

Zack Ryder made his way out to the ring for the main event right before Superstars went to commercial break.

Zack Ryder vs. Drew McIntyre

Zack did a Woo Woo Woo taunt to start it off, but Zack started a beatdown on him including a snap suplex for a near fall. Later, the two traded slaps to the face, followed by a flapjack from Ryder. He clotheslined Drew out of the ring then dove over the top rope to take down Drew. Zack tossed Drew back in the ring, but Drew rolled out the other side. Zack went out to attack, but ended up hit with a Spinebuster against the apron.

Back in the ring, Drew began to take control, kicking away on Ryder in the corner. Drew ended up outside the ring again as Superstars took a final break in the action. Drew was in control in the ring as Superstars returned. The crowd tried to rally Zack with a "Let's go Ryder!" chant.

Towards the end of the contest, Zack pounded on Drew in the corner then hit the Broski boot. Ryder with the near fall, showed frustration at the fact he didn't win there. He measured up for the Rough Ryder, but instead Drew Powerbombed him into a pinfall. Zack still managed to kick out of it. Drew got a huge boot of his own moments later, with Zack able to escape the pinfall.

McIntyre set up for the Future Shock with Zack escaping it. Drew went for another Powerbomb attempt, but Zack jumped off him and then ran against the ropes. As Ryder came back he jumped up and connected with the Rough Ryder for the win.

Winner: Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Drew McIntyre.

WWE Superstars Results 12/2/10:

The show opened with Todd Grisham and Matt Striker from Smackdown. They said tonight's main event is DH Smith versus Tyson Kidd. Tyler Reks arrived out for the opening match.

Trent Barreta vs. Tyler Reks

Curt Hawkins arrived out to watch the opening contest between Barreta and Reks. Barretta managed to take down Barreta after Hawkins had been talking about being in a different league from Trent. Barretta hit a diving senton on Reks. Hawkins described himself as a future main eventer while the match continued.

Moments later, Barreta flipped off the second rope to moonsault onto Reks outside the ring. He rolled Reks into the ring for a near fall, but then Reks picked him up and rammed him into the corner. Reks continued with momentum heading to commercial and was still beating on Trent when they returned. Hawkins said it's only a matter of time before Reks seals the deal. Reks picked up Barreta for a bear hug.

Late in the match, Reks was dominating but he catapulted Trent towards the corner and Trent landed on his feet on the apron. After hitting Reks, he got up on the corner and landed a dropkick to Reks' back to take him down. Barretta went for a move on Reks near the corner, with Reks grabbing him and dropping him face first onto the turnbuckle. From there, Reks hit his finisher to win the match.

Winner: Tyler Reks wins via pinfall over Trent Barreta.

They did a replay of WWE NXT Season 3 finale highlights. Kaitlyn defeated Naomi in a match, then later on they had a trash talking face off in the ring. However, at the end of the night it was Kaitlyn who was voted the winner of NXT Season 3.

Darren Young vs. William Regal

Time for the Raw commentary team which is Scott Stanford and CM Punk. Stanford called CM Punk "very handsome" tonight. Punk talked about Darren Young being his former rookie on NXT and saying he doesn't care what's going on with him now or then.
Regal started beating on Young in the corner then whipped him to the opposite corner. Young had a burst of offense, but Regal knocked him right back down for more punishment. Meanwhile Stanford read off Regal's title accomplishments to CM Punk who noted he beat Regal for the IC title. Young started to fight back with European uppercuts and had several near falls but Regal kept getting out.
Moments later, Regal had Young down on the mat and locked him into the Regal Stretch. Young couldn't even tap out because his arms were locked in the submission so he had to verbally submit.

Winner: William Regal wins by submission over Darren Young.

Raw Rebound took a look back at Monday's "Era of Awesome" starting with The Miz as new WWE Champ. Jerry Lawler got into an argument with him from ringside, but the Raw GM ended up booking a match between Lawler and The Miz. Lawler received his first ever WWE Title match for the main event of Raw, a TLC match. In that match, Lawler withstood the beating from Miz by chairs, but was able to eventually fight off Alex Riley, sending him crashing through a table. He did the same to Miz from the corner, but Michael Cole left the commentator position to try to help Miz up. With Lawler almost able to pull the championship belt down, Cole rushed into the ring and grabbed his leg to stop him. Lawler ended up punching Cole down, and that allowed Miz to start his climb up the ladder. Lawler tried to go up and fight him, but got smashed in the face with the hanging belt.

Raw superstar Tyson Kidd arrived out for the Superstars main event with his former Hart Dynasty partner, DH Smith.

David Hart Smith vs. Tyson Kidd

After an early argument between the two former partners, Smith took control. Smith hit a huge clothesline to put Kidd out of the ring over the top rope. He went out to retrieve Kidd and kept beating him up when he brought him into the ring. Later, Smith missed when charging at Kidd in the corner. Kidd was able to deliver a kick to the back of Smith's head sending him out of the ring before a commercial break.

Late in the match, Smith had momentum and hit a suplex into a bridge pin, but Kidd kicked out. Smith with a legdrop and another near fall on Kidd. Kidd grabbed him by the shorts to propel Smith out through the ropes. Smith was on his feet with Kidd trying for the baseball slide, but Smith blocked then smashed Kidd into the apron. On the outside, Smith went for a suplex near the apron, but Kidd landed on his feet then stepped on Smith's fingers. Outside the ring, Kidd charged at Smith but ended up getting powerslammed. Smith tossed Kidd back into the ring for another 2 count.

Smith set up a Sharpshooter, but Kidd managed to grab the bottom ropes then delivered a kick to Smith. Moments later, Kidd put a Sharpshooter on Smith. Smith was in agony but stretched towards the bottom rope. He was about to tap but stopped, then eventually reached the ropes to break it. Kidd missed on a leg drop on the apron, falling hard on the apron. Smith came at him, but Kidd yanked him down face first against the ropes. Kidd went for a springboard move, but Smith countered turning it into a pinfall to win.

Post-match, Smith was about to duck out through the ropes to leave. He decided to get back into the ring and walked over to Kidd offering him a friendly handshake. Kidd thought about it a bit then slapped his former partner in the face. Kidd rushed out of the ring to the ramp yelling back at Smith "You need me more than I need you! You were lucky to beat me tonight!" Smith yelled back "this is all your fault, you happy now?" as Superstars ended.

Winner: David Hart Smith wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd.

WWE Superstars Results 11/25/10

WWE Superstars Results 11/25/10:

Smackdown's team of Matt Striker and Todd Grisham were on hand to start off the special Thanksgiving edition of WWE Superstars. Curt Hawkins arrived out to start off the show.

Trent Barreta vs. Curt Hawkins

Right before the match started, Striker wished Josh Matthews a happy birthday. Grisham noted that Barreta and Hawkins were roommates and trained together for a number of years but are now feuding. Right before a commercial break, Barretta was able to do a huge suicide dive over the top rope to take out Hawkins outside the ring. As he walked over to Hawkins, Curt grabbed his tights and tossed Barreta into the crowd barrier.

Post-break, Barreta was trying to fight out of a hold but Hawkins took him right back down. Hawkins worked on a headlock down on the mat. Despite a comeback from Barreta, Hawkins scored a flapjack style move and another move to slam Barreta to the mat. He went for the flying elbow from the corner, but Barreta rolled out of the way. Trent came back with the running knee to take Curt down but couldn't score a 3 count. Barreta went for his springboard DDT move but Hawkins countered to throw Trent to the mat. Hawins followed with a swinging neckbreaker into a face plant on the mat.

Winner: Curt Hawkins wins via pinfall over Trent Barreta.

Grisham talked about how John Cena was fired from WWE since he officiated the WWE Title match at Survivor Series and Orton won to retain the title. Grisham introduced the highlight footage of Cena's farewell speech to the WWE Universe.

When Superstars returned, the Raw commentators were now present, with Lawler and new commentator Scott Stanford. Stanford thanked All Hail the Villain for the Survivor Series theme "Runaway." They sent it to the ring where Ashley Valence was shown as the ring announcer. Valence had been MIA since her use as a co-host on NXT Season 2.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Primo & Zack Ryder

Stanford talked about how the WWE Universe is still in shock over what happened this past week with Raw and John Cena. Lawler said the entire landscape has been changed.

Early on Kozlov took control against Ryder and threw him around, prompting Ryder to back up to tag in Primo. Primo didn't want any of Kozlov either and demanded he tag in Santino. Santino and Primo locked up a bit until Santino finally took down Primo with a side headlock. He kept it on and rolled backwards to make the tag to Kozlov.

After commercial break, the heels managed to gain control against Santino, working the doubleteam and tagging in and out to wear him down. Santino managed to avoid Primo charging towards him, then leapt over to tag in Kozlov who took control. He eventually hit a running powerslam, but Ryder came in to kick Kozlov in the head. Kozlov went over towards the ropes and Santino tagged him just as Kozlov took Ryder to the outside with a clothesline. Santino went in to face Primo, the legal man, who punched him in the gut. Santino got up though, and after kicking Primo, wound up the Cobra punch to strike. He connected and made the winning pin.

Winners: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov win via pinfall over Primo & Zack Ryder.

Superstars returned with the Raw Rebound. It featured highlights of Nexus attacking the champ Randy Orton, right before Wade Barrett was to take him on for the WWE Title. Barrett tried to take advantage of Orton's hurt knee, and nearly had the winning pin after his Wasteland move. However, John Cena rushed to ringside and yanked the ref out of the ring before he could make the winning pinfall count. Cena pounded on Barrett some until the Nexus came rushing out from backstage. They chased Cena out through the crowd. Meanwhile, Orton managed to hit the RKO and pinned Barrett to retain the WWE Title.

Post-match, Orton was celebrating a tough victory. All of a sudden, The Miz's theme music sounded and Miz arrived to the ring with his MITB briefcase and Alex Riley. Miz indicated he wanted to cash in, then an official match began. Miz had his work cut out for him, but took advantage of Orton's injury. Orton kept fighting back and at one point went for a quick RKO. However, Miz countered it and hit Skullcrushing Finale for the win. Miz is your new WWE Champion.

Mark Henry vs. The Usos
2-on-1 Handicap Match

A rematch from the previous Superstars where the Usos beat Henry in the handicap match. Jimmy and Jey Uso were accompanied to the ring by Tamina.

During the match, Henry was near the ropes with the ref distracted by one of the Usos. Tamina got up on the apron and kicked Henry in the back, but it didn't do a thing. He turned to stare her down, and that allowed one of the Usos to pounce on him from behind. Henry reacted to him and soon tossed him to the corner. Henry went for the huge running splash, but the Uso moved away, then worked on Henry's leg as he was down. The Usos continued to keep working on Henry while he was down on the mat, but their pinfall attempts failed.

One of the Usos head a headlock on Henry, but Henry stood up and tossed him in the air. The Usos made a tag, but Henry clubbed the other one down and headbutted him. Towards the close, Henry threw the other non-legal Uso into the ring. He slammed one on top of the other, then did a huge splash on them. He pushed the one non-legal Uso hard causing him to roll all the way out of the ring. Henry then picked up the legal Uso and hit World's Strongest Slam, prompting a "Goodnight Irene" phrase from Scott Stanford. Henry with the pinfall win and celebration to close Superstars.

Winner: Mark Henry wins via pinfall over The Usos.

WWE's Scott Stanford, Jamie Keyes NXT'd, Del Rio's first loss

This past week held plenty of WWE happenings including the whole John Cena joining Nexus saga, which the WWE Universe is still buzzing about. There's also a new commentator named Scott Stanford, the first diva rookie was eliminated on NXT Season 3 via WWE.com and Alberto Del Rio took his first in-ring loss from a major superstar.

First up, new commentator Scott Stanford, who almost immediately reminds you of another guy (no longer with WWE) in Mike Adamle. He definitely has a sportscaster sound to him, but needs work on how to talk over matches with Jerry Lawler. It seemed as if he was in his training or initiation and that Lawler was trying to keep things from getting off-track. Stanford's a bit stiff, but at least he's not calling matches like Adamle was, yet. No word on where Stanford will fit in, could he be on hand just for Superstars Raw matches. Michael Cole seems to be the third wheel on Smackdown now, yet still on Raw, so this will be interesting.

There was a NXT elimination on Tuesday night. It was the first episode of NXT Season 3 on WWE.com, which was a bit choppy. Depending on your internet speed/connection you may have got the short end of the stick there. The video feed was decent but had its quirks here and there. At the end of the night, Jamie Keyes was eliminated. She definitely tried to sell her sexy self through in-ring talks but it just didn't work out. Even a kiss to Matt Striker failed her. There was also a competition which seemed fixed, as Kaitlyn got over thanks to making fun of Vickie Guerrero. Why would the fans not eat that up, giving Kaitlyn immunity? WWE creative is working Kaitlyn into the Dolph-Vickie love triangle, so they're playing the cards of keeping her around. Otherwise that story would be odd if a diva is eliminated then just shows up. Wait nevermind that's happend with the first two seasons!

How about Smackdown? Not only the debut of Edge, who Theodore Long said he personally traded for, but also Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio. It was Del Rio's first loss, as Rey made his return to avenge what Alberto did to him. Great match, and fans weren't quite sure who'd win, especially with ring announcer Ricardo trying to interfere. So Del Rio isn't undefeated, but he'll definitely be in the upper eschelon of WWE in the future. Time should eventually reveal how high he rises.

Back to Edge, it's no secret who he was likely traded for as various wrestling sites/blogs are saying it's CM Punk who will show up on Raw. One fan even suggested an interesting scenario where Punk is also the Raw GM and orchestrated the whole trade. That could be very interesting. Will Punk resume his Straight Edge gimmick on Raw as a heel or go back face? He seems to work great as a heel, and he'd be another great one for the show in addition to The Miz and Nexus.

WWE Superstars Results 10/07/10

WWE Superstars Results 10/7/10:

Smackdown's Todd Grisham opened the show announcing a main event from Raw for later of The Usos versus the Hart Dynasty. Chris Masters arrived out for the opening contest. Matt Striker and Grisham spoke about the week past including John Cena joining Nexus and Wade Barrett becoming #1 Contender for the WWE Title.

Chris Masters vs. Vance Archer

Archer was accompanied to the ring with Curt Hawkins. Masters nearly had the Masterlock on Archer during the first part of the match, but Archer was able to fling him out of the ring over the ropes as the show took a break.

In the closing moments, Archer and Masters fought on the outside. Archer went for a huge running clothesline, but Masters ducked it and Archer leveled Curt Hawkins instead. As Archer was back on the apron and Masters was in the ring, Hawkins yelled at him for what happened. Meanwhile, Masters grabbed Archer from behind in the Masterlock and pulled him into the ring, keeping the lock tight. Eventually the ref called for the bell as Archer was out of it.

Post-match, Hawkings got in the ring with Archer still down. He kicked Archer in the head, then went to the corner turnbuckle and hit his flying elbow drop on Archer before leaving the ring.

Winner: Chris Masters wins via submission over Curt Hawkins.

Grisham introduced this past Tuesday's episode of NXT which was exclusively on WWE.com. They showed the rookie diva talent show with Aksana's special pushups, AJ's flexibility, Jamie planting a kiss on matt striker, and Kaitlyn drawing a portrait of Vickie Guerrero and Maxine getting smashed in the face with a pie she made for Hornswoggle. Kaitlyn won the competition due to crowd response. Later on, the first elimination was Jamie Keyes who is partnered with The Bella Twins.

Darren Young vs. William Regal

Regal was announced as the 2008 King of the Ring. Jerry Lawler was joined by a new commentataor, Scott Stanford, who predicted a technical matchup tonight. King said you can expect that from Regal at least. Stanford talked about Regal's pet lizards and how Regal's been in the business for a good 15 years.

Young caught major momentum late in the match, with several takedowns including a huge dropkick for a near fall. Regal rolled to the outside to recover, so Young made the mistake of getting to the apron. Regal swiped his leg causing Young to fell on his back on the apron. Regal got back into the ring and as Young was getting in, Regal rushed to hit the Knee Trembler on him for the pin.

Winner: William Regal wins via pinfall over Darren Young.

Jerry Lawler and Scott Stanford talked about the upcoming Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio match for Friday's Smackdown. Stanford introduced the Raw Rebound with John Cena and his "new Nexus buddies." The highlights were seen of Cena being required to join Nexus on Monday night, and participate in a match as Michael Tarver's tag partner. Later on, Cena was ordered by the Raw GM to do as Barrett told him or get fired from WWE. Barrett ordered Cena to help him win a battle royal later on. Cena did so, eventually eliminating himself from the contest so Barrett could win and become #1 Contender for Randy Orton's WWE Title.

The Hart Dynasty arrived out without Natalya. King noted that DH and Tyson have had some tension between them lately.

The Hart Dynasty vs. The Usos

Stanford was able to identify Jimmy Uso in the ring based on hairstyle. He talked about Natalya not being present and how she didn't win the Divas title this past Sunday due to Layla's interference in the match.

The Hart Dynasty started off strong with Tamina watching and encouraging the Usos. At one point Kidd did some impressive work jumping onto the apron and then swinging through the ropes to dropkick Jey Uso down. From there, Kidd rushed across the ring, came off the ropes and then did a diving flip out onto both Usos as Superstars went to break.

After break, Kidd struggled but finally got away to make a hot tag to DH Smith. Smith came in with a huge boot to Jey Uso followed by a leg drop. He knocked Jimmy off the apron, then went outside to toss Jey back in. As DH tried to get into the ring, Tamina grabbed his leg to stop him. DH turned to glare at her and got bashed down from behind by one of the Usos.

The Usos gained control from there and worked a doubleteam on DH Smith, eventually bodyslamming him down. Scott Stanford continued to bring up that Natalya wasn't around for the match. Lawler said he wasn't sure why, but maybe they need to do a little more homework before arriving out to keep asking these things.

Kidd broke up a late match near fall by The Usos. As the ref got Kidd out of the ring, the Usos did a doubleteam attack for another near fall. Moments later, Smith was able to muster the strength for a suplex on Jimmy. Tyson tagged in with some quick, high-flying moves for a near fall. Kidd went to the corner and had an impressive variety of moves including a headscissors to bring his opponent down. The action broke down though with Kidd eventually tossing an Uso out of the ring onto his partner DH. As Kidd turned around he ate a big kick to the face, then the legal Uso hit a Samoan Splash from the corner.

DH and Kidd argued over the finish with Kidd inside the ring and Smith on the outside. Stanford asked King if this would cause more tension for the Harts, then said we'd "find out next time."

Winners: The Usos win via pinfall over The Hart Dynasty.
