He said it's bad news he has to fight after just defeating R-Truth, but bad news for Neville he's got to face him now. Barrett vowed to take his spot on the throne as the new King of the Ring. Neville made his entrance and seemed to be favoring his ribs which must have been hurt against Sheamus.

Bad News Barrett defeated Neville via pinfall in the King of the Ring final. Late in the match, Neville dodged a Bull Hammer from Barrett and had a near fall. Neville was able to knock Barrett down and went for the Red Arrow, but Barrett moved away. Neville managed to land on his feet, but Barrett hit him with a quick Bull Hammer for the pin.

Raw Results 11/29/10 - 2010 King of the Ring

Raw Results from Philadelphia, PA:

They kicked things off with highlights of last week's main event, Barrett vs Orton for the WWE Title. Barrett and Nexus attacked Orton before the match, hurting his knee. Barrett took advantage of that during the match, and hit his finisher, but John Cena arrived to ringside to yank the ref out before he could count the pinfall. Cena was chased through the crowd by Nexus, and Orton won the match. Not long after, The Miz cashed in his MITB contract getting a title match against Orton. After a hard fought match, Miz hit his finisher to win the WWE title.

Michael Cole welcomed fans to the 2010 King of the Ring tournament, plus the "Era of Awesome" begins with The Miz, new WWE Champion. Lawler suggested Cole calm down just a bit. They showed a royal thrown, cape and crown set up on stage with special king music playing. Just then, Alex Riley, The Miz's apprentice came out onto the stage to boast about Miz being the WWE Champion. Riley talked about the unforgettable moment when Miz won the title. Riley kept talking saying it was time to party, even insulting new Raw commentator CM Punk. He said Raw is going A-Ri and it's going to be "Awesome."

Brackets were revealed for the 2010 KOTR as: Bryan vs Del Rio, Morrison vs Rhodes, Jackson vs McIntyre, and Kingston vs Sheamus.

Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio
KOTR Tournament Round 1

Ricardo Rodriguez was on hand to introduce the first competitor in the KOTR tourney. Rodriguez was sporting a bruised eye from the punch he received from Big Show on Smackdown.

After commercial break, Del Rio had control but it wasn't long before Bryan gained momentum back. He had multiple pinfall attempts with Del Rio escaping them all. At one point, Del Rio rushed towards Bryan at the ropes, but missed and fell near the crowd barrier. Bryan went for the suicide dive through the ropes and took down Del Rio but also crashed shoulder first into the barrier. Del Rio took advantage of it in the ring by slapping on the Armbreaker to make Bryan tap out.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio wins via submission over Danie Byran to advance to Round 2 of KOTR 2010.

Cole, Punk and Lawler talked about former King of the Ring winners: Edge, Bret Hart, Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Another superstar will join those names after tonight.

R-Truth arrived out performing "What's Up?" his standard crowd-pumping theme song. Truth spoke in the ring about Cena giving his farewell last week to the WWE. Truth said he tried to get Cena to quit on his own terms earlier, but it all ended up costing him what he loves the most - the WWE Universe. Truth said Nexus may have won the battle, but the war hasn't even started yet. Truth challenged any Nexus member to go one-on-one.

Josh Matthews was shown backstage and went to Nexus locker room. Michael McGillicutty walked out telling Matthews to shut up and that he hear Truth, saying he's about to show him what happens when he challenges Nexus. The camera showed McGill walking on his way to the ring when he got attacked by someone off camera wearing jean shorts. McGill got beat up and tossed to the ground, then a hand with a purple wristband waved to the camera, looking very much like John Cena's arm.

John Morrison vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes
KOTR Round Tournament 1

Early on Morrison slapped Rhodes in the face, prompting Dashing to roll out of the ring and kick the barrier. Morrison retrieved him and tossed him back in for more punishment. Rhodes soon gained the advantage.

Late in the match, both men jumped to the ropes to go for their flying kicks. Morrison was quicker though and landed his to Rhodes face to knock him down. He followed up with a knee to the head to take out Rhodes for the pinfall.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over Dashing Cody Rhodes to advance to KOTR Round 2.

Miss USA Rima Fakih will be on hand to crown tonight's 2010 King of the Ring winner.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Drew McIntyre
KOTR Tournament Round 1

Jackson got the early advantage and smashed Drew in the corner with a huge clothesline then a splash. CM Punk noted that one of the turnbuckle covers came off a bit causing it to be exposed. Drew smashed Ezekiel face first into it and had a near fall as a result.

At one point in the match, both guys went tumbling out of the ring. They continued to fight at the bottom of the ramp. Jackson had Drew down and saw the ref count nearing 10. He went to rush back to the ring, but Drew grabbed his leg to hold him back. The result, a double countout, meaning whoever wins the Sheamus vs Kofi Kingston match gets a bye to the finals.

Winner: Double countout so neither superstar will advance to Round 2 of KOTR.

Daniel Bryan was backstage icing his shoulder injury from the earlier match with Del Rio. Both of the Bella Twins came up trying to cozy up to Bryan. Alex Riley entered the scene to ask what they were doing hanging with that loser. He chastised them saying they're in charge of entertainment for The Miz's big victory celebration, and yelled at Bryan for blowing his opportunity on NXT to be mentored by The Miz.

When Raw returned they reviewed last week's main event again with Barrett vs Orton for the WWE Title, preying upon Orton's injury. Also shown were highlights of The Miz cashing in his MITB contract to win the WWE Title. After the highlights, Jerry Lawler said former champion Randy Orton won't be there tonight due to the injury he suffered.

Justin Roberts introduced the new WWE champion, The Miz. Miz arrived out in a suit carrying the WWE Championship belt. Alex Riley was with him. Michael Cole stood up from his seat and applauded the new champ.

Miz showed off photos of a girl from the crowd last week who was angry that he won the WWE Championship. He said that little girl will forever be known as "the Miz girl," reminding him of all the trouble he had to go through to get there. He said Orton's not there due to a knee injury. Miz said the only real injury on Orton is his pride due to being embarrassed in last week's loss. He said Orton is the first in a long list of people who will be demoralized. He vowed to be longest reigning champion in WWE history.

Alex Riley held up a copy of the new book about the rich history of the WWE Championship. Miz said Roddy Piper and Ricky Steamboat, both Hall of Famers, never won the title. He said the list goes on and on. Jerry Lawler got up to interrupt saying he's a name on that list. Lawler said Miz basically beat a guy who had already been beaten up by 7 other guys. Miz told Lawler it sounds like the ramblings of a bitter old man. Michael Cole got up and told Lawler to sit down and let Miz have his moment. Lawler suggested that Miz call someone out tonight for a WWE title match who hasn't been beaten down by 7 other guys.

Cole told Lawler to be careful or Miz might make an example of him. Lawler said he's been there since 1993 and never has had a WWE title opportunity, so he asked Miz for a shot. Miz said he won't be defending his WWE title tonight. Lawler said that confirms it, Miz is a coward. Miz retorted that Lawler is just a shell of a Hall of Famer who's never done anything.

Suddenly, the lights flashed and email sound dinged. Cole got up to read an email from the GM. The Raw GM said they are interested in seeing Miz defend the WWE title tonight, so he will do so in the main event against Jerry "the King" Lawler. Raw GM adds a stipulation, tonight's match is Tables, Ladders and Chairs in anticipation of the TLC PPV in December.

Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus
KOTR Tournament Round 1

CM Punk said Sheamus is his pick, and said he'll be facing John Morrison in the finals. Not sure if this was a slip by Punk or just his prediction. Michael Cole announced the 2010 Slammy Awards will be in two weeks with a special 3 hour Raw. CM Punk apologized saying he thought this was the finals.

Mid-way through this match, Kofi scored the Boom Boom double leg drop. Cole noted that the winners of the KOTR tournament have combined for 62 championships. Sheamus had Kofi up for the High Cross move. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise, but Sheamus landed under the bottom rope. Kofi tried to pull Sheamus into the ring, but Sheamus held onto the apron cover. Kofi stomped on his hand then pulled him in.

Moments later, after a pendulum kick, Kofi got on the corner and went for a flying move. Sheamus got him mid air with his Brogh Kick, then scored the winning pinfall. Sheamus will be in the finals due to the double countout of Jackson/McIntyre.

Winner: Sheamus wins via pinfall over Kofi Kingston to advance to the finals of 2010 KOTR Tournament.

Mark Henry & Yoshi Tatsu vs. Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel

As the match was continuing the crowd started going wild all of a sudden. John Cena was shown out in the crowd with a ticket in hand. He shook hands and hugged various fans, then took a seat in the front row to watch the match. CM Punk called Cena a showboater because he sat on the side to get his face on camera.

Gabriel broke up a pinfall that Henry had on Heath Slater. Gabriel and Yoshi ended up going to the outside. Slater managed to kick Henry as he rushed him in the corner. Slater got up on the corner and turned his attention to yell at Cena in the front row. As he jumped at Henry, Henry caught him and hit World's Strongest Slam for the win.

Winners: Mark Henry and Yoshi Tatsu win via pinfall over Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater.

Post-match, John Cena jumped over the crowd barrier and rushed to ringside. He tore off the commentator's table top and moved the monitors, then yanked Slater out of the ring. Cena did an Attitude Adjustment on Slater to crash him through the table. Cena took off into the crowd, and jumped up on some equipment to do the You Cant C Me taunt. Nexus arrived to ringside to assist Gabriel backstage.

They replayed highlights of the earlier incidents involving Cena taking out Nexus members McGillicutty and Gabriel.

Nexus members Otunga, Harris and Gabriel were in the locker room backstage. Otunga said they're sitting ducks for Cena. Barrett walked in and said they're going to end things tonight. He said he'll go call him out there.

They showed Jerry Lawler in the locker room getting ready for the match. Arn Anderson walked in to say the title match is long overdue. AA told King the TLC matches are dangerous and chances of getting hurt are pretty good. He said nobody will blame him for letting the opportunity pass him by. Lawler said he's never been in a TLC or WWE title match. AA said we'll see what you're made of, one thing left to do is beat him. CM Punk and Cole talked of Lawler's chances at winning the WWE title TLC match later on.

John Morrison vs. Alberto Del Rio
KOTR Tournament Rd 2 Match

During the match, Cole and Punk talked of former winners, noting that Regal was the last winner in 2008, but he is currently on a sabatical. Morrison took down Del Rio with a flying kick for a near fall. Moments later, Del Rio hit a move to work over Morrison's arm, by smashing it against both knees as he dropped to the mat. He hammered on Morrison's head down on the mat, then whipped him to the corner for a running kick.

Suddenly, the horn started to beep on Del Rio's car several times. Del Rio turned to look out towards his car and saw Rey Mysterio appear out of the sunroof area. With Del Rio distracted, Morrison hit the flash kick from the ropes and took the winning pinfall.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over Alberto Del Rio to advance to the finals of KOTR Tournament.

Wade Barrett was shown walking down the backstage hall, on his way out to the ring to call out John Cena.

They showed Barrett vs Orton in last week's main event yet again, with Cena rushing out to yank the ref from the ring and then hit the AA on Barrett. Orton was able to win the match with the RKO to retain the WWE Title.

Nexus leader Wade Barrett arrived out to the ring by himself. In the ring, Barrett said he's the only one on the planet with the power to bring Cena back to the WWE. Barrett said he sees right through Cena's plan to try to get him so mad he reinstates him. Wade said he promises Cena will never work in WWE again. Barrett vowed that Nexus will get their hands on him. As Barrett continued to speak he was interrupted on the big screen with John Cena appearing in the parking lot. He said he made a promise before he was fired to take out each member one-by-one. Barrett said it's obvious Cena's out in the parking lot. He said "Security go get him." Cena reminded him that Nexus attacked security weeks ago so they're in no rush to save Nexus.

Suddenly, Harris, Otunga and Gabriel showed up to corner Cena near a truck in the parking lot. Cena said they should know that he's not the only enemy there. They turned around and got attacked by other Raw superstars including DH Smith, Mark Henry, Yoshi Tatsu and Vladimir Kozlov. Cena tossed Otunga head first at the nearby limo, smashing the glass window. He threw him into some nearby trash cans. Cena also delivered the AA to Gabriel, smashing him onto the hood of the Limo. Cena says to the camera that he'll keep going until he gets each and every one of them, then said he'd see Wade and Nexus again next week.

They showed video of the aftermath of the scene outside in the parking lot with broken glass and the smashed up limo. Cole introduced a replay of what just happened out there with Cena and Nexus. CM Punk said Cena isn't working for WWE so he is assaulting these guys.

Gail Kim, Melina & Natalya vs. Tamina, Alicia Fox & Maryse
Six Diva Tag Match

They showed a replay of last week when Tamina serenaded Santino backstage with her acoustic guitar ballad, and then the passionate kiss. As the match was going on, Santino came out from backstage serenading Tamina with his own acoustic song "I Think We're Alone Now."

Tamina was wooed by Santino's song and put him in a headlock then walked him backstage. Maryse was yelling about the fact Tamina left them. It ended up with Natalya versus Alicia Fox in the ring. Natalya put Alicia down on the mat, locked in the Sharpshooter and forced the tap.

Winners: Natalya, Gail Kim & Melina win via submission over Tamina, Alicia Fox & Maryse.

They showed a career highlight video of Jerry "The King" Lawler in anticipation of his first ever WWE Championship match tonight. They showed Lawler stretching back in the locker room wearing his wrestling gear.

Raw returned with Ted Dibiase back in the locker room looking at a toy version of the WWE championship belt. Maryse came in yelling at Dibiase for playing with toys and not winning the real belt. She said when he looks bad, he makes her look bad. Finally, Dibiase had enough and screamed at her to Shut up then stormed off.

Harris and Otunga were shown sneaking around the arena. Harris said Cena won't stop until Cena gets his job back from Wade. Otunga said he thinks he knows a way to bring an end to all of this, then said he has Harris' back.

Josh Matthews interviewed the finalists for the King of the Ring 2010 tournament, John Morrison and Sheamus. He said Sheamus may be fresher due to less matches, but Morrison has history on his side since he beat Sheamus at Survivor Series. Sheamus told Morrison he got lucky at SS, but tonight he's got an arm injury so he's ripe for the picking. Morrison said it doesn't matter if Sheamus is bigger or stronger or looks white like powder, at the end of the night only one of them will walk out of there as King of the Ring. The camera showed the crowd, robe and throne up on stage with Cole saying the finals are coming up next.

John Morrison vs. Sheamus
KOTR Finals Match

Miss USA Rima Fakih was introduced by Justin Roberts as the special guest ring announcer for the match. Sheamus gained control of the match heading into the commercial and continued to be in control afterwords. They showed Sheamus had tossed Morrison into the crowd barrier during the break. Sheamus dropped Morrison in the ring to further damage that hurt arm.

Morrison started to make a comeback and eventually had Sheamus in the corner. He started to pound away on him, but Sheamus shoved him off. Sheamus went for the running Brogh Kick, but Morrison ducked it. Sheamus set up for the High Cross to finish off Sheamus. Morrison slid off and tried to land a backslide pin, but couldn't. Sheamus shoved Morrison to the corner then charged with Morrison elbowing him. Morrison reversed a Sheamus sidewalk slam to turn it into a DDT. Morrison had the pin but Sheamus grabbed the bottom rope to stop it before 3.

Moments later Sheamus dropped Morrison to the mat on his hurt arm. He went for the pinfall with Morrison able to kick out. Sheamus kept assaulting that hurt shoulder and put on a submission to try to get Morrison to tap. Morrison flipped around on the mat and kicked Sheamus in the head to get out. Sheamus grabbed Morrison from behind but Morrison delivered a reverse kick to his face to take him down.

Morrison went for Starship Pain, but Sheamus got both knees up to block it. Moments later, Sheamus managed to finally deliver that Brogh Kick to level Morrison. He followed with the High Cross to throw Morrison across the ring, then grabbed the winning pinfall for the win. Sheamus is the 2010 King of the Ring winner.

Winner: to win the 2010 King of the Ring Tournament.

Post-match, Sheamus walked up the ramp and received the sceptre, robe and crown from Miss USA Rima Fakih. Sheamus took his seat in the throne as the 2010 King of the Ring. He picked up a mic to speak, saying finally the lineage for the high kings of lineage has been fulfilled. He stood up yelling "All Hail the King" after referring to the WWE Universe as his royal subjects.

They showed Jerry Lawler and WWE Champ The Miz walking backstage on a split-screen on their way out for the main event WWE Championship TLC Match.

Jerry Lawler vs. The Miz
WWE Title TLC Match

A main event match set up earlier by the Raw GM gave Jerry Lawler his first ever WWE Title match in a TLC match against The Miz. The ring had tables, ladders and chairs set up around the ring with the WWE Championship hanging above the ring. The Miz was introduced first and arrived out with his protege Alex Riley. Riley had the beat up and battered MITB briefcase with him. Jerry Lawler was introduced second to the crowd's ovation.

Michael Cole said he was guaranteeing that Jerry Lawler isn't walking out of there as the WWE Champion tonight. CM Punk told him he can't say that since Jerry Lawler is a legend. Lawler scored the first punch after a lock up, causing the two to recircle each other.

Later, The Miz started to bash Lawler with chairs on the outside. He tossed Lawler back in the ring, then set up two chairs. Lawler nearly hit a backdrop to drop Miz onto both chairs, but Miz managed to jump over them. He picked up Lawler then did a back breaker onto the chair. Punk kept saying Miz was making mistakes, while Cole was saying this is a young man's game which doesn't favor Lawler.

Alex Riley started to grab a ladder to hand to Miz in the ring. It took several moments and allowed the King to start bashing Miz with a steel chair. Lawler went to the outside to get a ladder, with Alex Riley rushing over. King floored him with a huge punch, then started to slide the ladder back into the ring. Miz grabbed the other end inside the ring, but Lawler flipped the ladder causing it to hit Miz in the jaw. Back in the ring, Miz managed to counter a move in the corner causing Lawler to hit the ladder. Moments later, Lawler avoided a move by the Miz with the ladder in the corner then backdropped him onto the ladder.

Riley hopped onto the apron and clotheslined King down. Lawler got back up though and fought with him from in the ring. Riley went for a suplex, with Lawler punching him, causing Riley to fall backwards through a table smashing it. Lawler set up a ladder and began his climb for the title, with Miz pulling him down. Punk criticized him for not climbing up the ladder right then. Miz went for a high risk move with a chair, but Lawler cut him off on the corner. Lawler went up for a Superplex, but Miz headbutted him down. King git back up and shoved Miz off the corner apron area and Miz fell backwards through a table, crashing to the floor.

Michael Cole got out of his announce position, leaving Punk alone to do commentary. Cole tried to get Miz up from the floor, as King climbed up the ladder and got to the WWE belt. Suddenly with lawler's hand on the belt, Michael Cole rushed into the ring and grabbed him by the leg. Punk was shocked as was Lawler when he looked down to see what was going on. Lawler hopped down to confront Cole over what was going on. Cole kept backing around the ladder in the center of the ring telling Lawler he didn't mean it. Finally Lawler punched Cole in the face as he'd had enough of him. Lawler got on top of Cole on the mat and began to punch away on him.

All of that chaos allowed Miz to return to the ring and make his climb up the ladder. He got to the top and started to reach for the belt, but Lawler had managed to get up the other side. The two competitors fought up top with Miz grasping one hand on the swinging belt. After several punches from Lawler, Miz smashed the belt into Lawler's face. Lawler fell off the ladder to the mat while Miz snatched down his WWE belt to retain.

Winner: The Miz wins the TLC Match over Jerry Lawler to retain the WWE Championship.

King of the Ring Tournament 2010 Edition

According to recent commentary from Smackdown's team of Grisham, Cole and Striker, there's six WWE Hall of Famers who were former King of the Ring winners. Can you name them?

If you guessed Don Muraco, Harley Race, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ted Dibiase, Bret Hart and Tito Santana, consider yourself an expert in WWE trivia. Those guys are true legends of the sport, and many of the other names to win the tournament have gone on to big things in their careers. Another name is Triple H, who will be in the Hall of Fame in the future. The tournament has basically launched careers. The King of the Ring has been held since 1985, but took years off in 1900 and 1992, as well as 2003, 2004, 2005 and just last year in 2009. As of right now, the current reigning King of the Ring is William Regal who won the 2008 edition in Greenville, South Carolina.

That brings us to the 2010 King of the Ring, which will be held on Monday's episode of Raw in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. Four superstars qualified from Raw and four qualified from Smackdown to give the following eight tournament competitors:

RAW: Sheamus, John Morrison, Daniel Bryan and Ezekiel Jackson

Smackdown: Alberto Del Rio, Dashing Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre

Scanning the list, there's a total four heels and four faces between the eight names. Michael Cole keeps touting Ezekiel Jackson as his favorite. When you look at the list of former winners, most of the guys were heels, making you think it's likely one will win this tournament. You might easily rule out Bryan, Kingston and Rhodes to win the tournament at this point.

However, I'll go with John Morrison to win it, even if he's a face. Let's shake things up and get his push going. He's got the recent push and may end up besting Sheamus in the finals. Morrison also seems headed towards a reunited storyline with Melina, which would give her "queen" status. This would also bring Morrison closer to the major title picture, and coincidentally his former tag partner, The Miz, holds the WWE Title. With Cena involved in a different story, and Orton hurting, Miz may enter a new feud with Morrison.

Of course if we want to cover our bets, we'd take Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio as favorites too. Both seem like the type of heels who woul do the crown justice by rubbing it in everyone's faces en route to a title shot.

Who do you expect to win the 2010 King of the Ring Tournament on Monday's Raw?

Raw Results 11/22/10

Raw Results from Orlando, FL:

Michael Cole opened the show to welcome fans to the brand new Amyway Center in Orlando, FL. They showed still images from last night's Survivor Series main event, with Lawler saying Cena counted the pinfall for Orton, to give him the win. Lawler said due to his actions he was fired.

Nexus leader Wade Barrett arrived out to the stage alone, but then the rest of his Nexus members came out as well to head to the ring. Barrett spoke on the mic regarding last night's main event, but the fans kept drowning him out with "You suck" chants, jeers and boos. Barrett said last night he didn't have a chance at winning the WWE Title, because John Cena was biased from the beginning. Barrett noted that no official has ever been allowed to put his hands on a competitor, but Cena did so last night when he distracted him and pushed him into an RKO. Barrett called last night's match unjust and demanded another WWE Title match against Orton, this time with a neutral referee.

The Raw GM sent another email with the lights blinking. Cole got up to go read from the podium at the laptop. The GM said there is some validity to what Barrett is saying, so Barrett will face Orton for the title tonight. Barrett said he was highly appreciative of the decision by the GM, then said in anticipation of that announcement he already decided to allow Cena to be on Raw tonight. Barrett said he wants Cena to say his final words to the WWE Universe. Wade said he'll enjoy hearing Cena's final words as much as he enjoys becoming WWE Champion.

Lawler was surprised at the announcements and asked Cole to confirm the GM's email. Cole did so, and said he just received word that Cena would in fact be on Raw.

A commercial aired to promote next Monday's episode of Raw which will be a special 3-hour "King of the Ring" tournament show from Philadelphia, PA.

Michael Cole told Jerry Lawler he had a special announcement for him. Cole stood up and got on the mic to announce there is a new member of the Raw broadcast team, CM Punk. Punk arrived to ringside to greet Cole and Lawler, then said he's part of the Raw broadcast team for the foreseeable future.

R-Truth vs. Sheamus
King of the Ring Qualifying Match

Truth arrived out with Eve Torres, and Truth was doing his old theme song "What's Up?" instead of "Crunk." Michael Cole said this will be one of four qualifying KOTR matches.

Right before a commercial break, Truth landed a high kick on Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior rolled to the outside and slammed his fists on the announce table, then kicked it a few times before commercial.

When Raw returned, Sheamus had the advantage and kept Truth down with an arm submission hold. Truth finally got to his feet and hit a jawbreaker on Sheamus. Truth had momentum with multiple clotheslines to take down Sheamus. However, Sheamus caught him with an elbow as he rushed him in the corner. Moments later, Truth had a hip toss for a near fall. Later still, Truth landed an impressive missile dropkick from the corner for yet another near fall.

In the closing moments though, Truth went for a move but Sheamus countered to pin him down. Truth barely escaped it, but as he got up, Sheamus came back with the Brogh kick. Sheamus waited for several moments then went for the Irish Cross. He tossed Truth across the ring and then made the winning pin.

Winner: Sheamus wins via pinfall over R-Truth to qualify for the 2010 King of the Ring Tournament.

Cole and Lawler talked about how a major career ended last night with Survivor Series. They said ironically the new dvd "The John Cena Experience" just came out last Tuesday. Punk said it's the only way you'll get to see Cena now because he's fired. They showed an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip with Cena at Wrestlemania 26. The highlights showed Cena as he got ready to go out and face The Animal Batista.

Michelle McCool and Layla were shown walking to get into the arena. A security staff stopped them as they entered saying this was the entrance for Raw superstars. Michelle McCool told him to check his list for her name, and the security guard asked how it was spelled, then kept saying it wasn't on the list. McCool and Layla started yelling at the guy until Natalya showed up next to him. He asked Natalya if she knew them and she said never saw them before. Natalya walked off as the security guard made LayCool go back outside.

Santino was backstage with Kozlov having drinks. Santino said they were so close to winning the tag titles last night and it was so close he could taste it. Kozlov said they'll capture them tomorrow. Santino said tomorrow's never guaranteed then started saying he was so depressed and wondered if anything could ever make him feel better. Just then some guitar music started up and Santino went over to see Tamina strumming a guitar in a chair. She started singing a song to him which made Santino pucker up his lips. Tamina gave him a strong kiss, then got up and gave him the "call me" sign. Santino fell back into his chair holding his chest.

They showed Orton lacing up his boots in the locker room when Josh Matthews came in to interview him. Matthews asked if Orton can beat Barrett again tonight like he did last night. Orton said he respects Cena for calling the match down the middle last night, even if they were never best of friends. Orton then guaranteed Barrett won't leave the arena with the WWE Championship.

WWE Slam of the Week showed Ezekiel Jackson highlights of Zeke tearing through his competition including Primo and Zack Ryder.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. The Miz
King of the Ring Qualifying Match

The Miz's theme music hit, but Alex Riley arrived out instead of Miz. Riley got on the mic as he walked down the ramp saying 10 minutes ago the greatest wrestler in the world suffered an anxiety attack, so he's been authorized to take his place and qualify for him.

Riley had some offense, but was soon overpowered by Jackson. Jackson shoved him to the ropes then leveled him. He followed up with a huge clothesline in the corner and then his one-armed slam for the win.

Winner: Ezekiel Jackson wins via pinfall over Alex Riley to qualify for 2010 King of the Ring tournament.

They showed John Cena backstage talking with R-Truth and Eve standing by. Gail Kim came up to give Cena a hug. Santino was there to shake his hand and then Yoshi Tatsu shook his hand as well. Cole and Lawler said it will be interesting to hear what Cena has to say.

Cole and Lawler talked about how they just saw that Cena has arrived to the arena. Lawler said it must be some sort of trap by Barrett bringing Cena here. Justin Roberts introduced John Cena to the ovation of the Orlando crowd, with Cena's full theme music and him rushing to the ring in his usual energetic way.

Cena said if he's going to go out it's gonna be this way, not with a ref shirt on or carrying someone's bags. He talked about how before he ever got this WWE job he was living in his car, cleaning toilets. Cena said he respects every person who's allowed him to be in the WWE today like Stone Cold, HHH, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. He said his goal was for each of those guys to be able to look him in the eye and say "kid you're alright." Cena talked about how being with WWE was living out a fantasy, so what Nexus did to him for the past two months won't ruin the greatest nine years of his life.

Cena started talking about his family and how they've always been patient. He talked about how he'll go to West Newberry after tonight to see his mom for her birthday and congratulate his brother Matt on his recent birth. Cena became a bit emotional and teary during this part of the speech. Cena said if he's going to go out he's going to do it right. He told all the ladies and kids in the crowd to chant "Let's Go Cena" and all the guys over 18 to chant "Cena Sucks." He stood back and admired the chants, with the men sounding considerably louder.

Cena said the chants were beautiful. He then had advice for former boss, Wade Barrett. He told him to stop trying to take shortcuts and the easy way out. He said the fans will give him everything if he gives them everything in return. Cena said to the camera "Wade, karma's a bitch." He said he'll cut the thank you list down to one very important mention - the WWE Universe. He thanked them for showing up, standing up for WWE and letting him share his life with them for 9 years. Cena finished the speech then said "let's go home." He got out of the ring and walked up the ramp to the top of the stage, kissed his dog tag and gave the crowd a salute.

The commentators were silent as they showed peoples' reactions in the crowd. They showed Cena walking backstage with a whole bunch of WWE superstars, divas and workers applauding him. Cena got to the end of the line and Randy Orton arrived out. Cena put out his hand and Orton shook his hand then gave Cena a hug and smile. Cena started to walk off towards the exit of the arena. Barrett emerged on camera to watch Cena leave and did the "U Cant C Me" taunt then smirked and walked off.

Daniel Bryan vs. Ted Dibiase
KOTR Qualifying Match

Maryse was at ringside for Dibiase. As Daniel Bryan was making his way to the ring Brie Bella came rushing down the ramp behind him. Brie grabbed Bryan by the arm and walked him to the ring. Cole was shocked by this. CM Punk called Brie a "4" at best.

Late in the match, Dibiase used a huge powerbomb style slam to put Bryan on the mat. Dibiase went for the cover, but Bryan reversed at 2. He got into position for the Labelle Lock, locking it in on Ted Dibiase. Dibiase soon tapped out. Cole said that Bryan will now join Ezekiel Jackson and Sheamus in the KOTR tournament.

Post-match, Brie got in the ring to make sure Bryan was ok. Nikki Bella came rushing to the ring and came in to check on Bryan. The Bellas started pushing each other a bit, but Bryan pushed them together into a hug.

Winner: Daniel Bryan wins via submission over Ted Dibiase to qualify for the 2010 KOTR Tournament.

Natalya vs. Alicia Fox

The new divas champ Natalya wrestled in her first match since winning the title. They showed a still image with The Glamazon Beth Phoenix hoisting Natalya with the divas title belts up on her shoulders.

During the match, Alicia pulled out a bunch of Natalya's hair. This enraged Natalya enough to gain momentum. She picked up Alicia in standing suplex position and then did a few squats with her. After a near fall, Natalya tried to put on the Sharpshooter but Alicia grabbed the ropes. Natalya managed to pick up Alicia in a Bear Hug. Moments later, she had Alicia back down on the mat and locked on a Sharpshooter to make her tap out.

Winner: Natalya wins via submission over Alicia Fox.

Melina was backstage talking to boyfriend John Morrison. She wished him luck on his KOTR qualifying match tonight. Morrison said he had to go and started to leave when Melina slapped his butt then smiled at him. Morrison put on his coat and started walking off, then turned back to smile at Melina.

WWE Rewind showed last week's match where Tyson Kidd betrayed his Hart Dynasty partner DH Smith by not letting him make the tag, then kicking Smith in the head. Gabriel was able to hit the 450 Splash for the win.

John Morrison vs. Tyson Kidd
KOTR Qualifying Match

Kidd settled into a side headlock on the mat early on, but Morrison stood up to battle back. He managed to leg sweep Kidd to take him down, and soon gained the advantage. Kidd rolled to the outside at one point, with Morrison trying to get him. Kidd used a distraction then kicked Morrison in the head to regain control.

Back in the ring, Morrison was eventually able to hit and impressive kick from off the side ropes to take down Kidd. He followed up with Starship Pain to take the pinfall victory.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over Tyson Kidd to qualify for the 2010 King of the Ring Tournament.

Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton
WWE Championship Match

As Randy Orton made his way down the ramp for the main event, he was suddenly attacked from behind by Nexus. Wade Barrett yelled orders at his team to beat up Orton. A group of referees arrived out to get them away from Orton. They managed to get Nexus up to the top of the stage away from Orton. Orton appeared to have hurt his knee and needed help standing up. Suddenly, Husky Harris rushed down and kicked Orton hard in the knee causing him to fall to the ramp holding his knee. Orton was livid down on the ramp as the ref asked if he was OK. Raw went to commercial break.

When Raw returned, Barrett made his way to the ring smiling. He was without Nexus this time and Cole said the Raw GM had banned them from ringside. CM Punk said the damage was already done to Randy Orton. Barrett was discussing something in the ring with the referee who seemed to be talking about Orton's knee issue. Barrett was trying to say Orton would forfeit if he didn't show up. Orton's theme music started up though and he eventually started limping out from backstage.

Barrett took full advantage of Orton's predicament, focusing on the hurt knee and continually attacking it. He applied a submission to try to wear it down, but Orton managed to kick Barrett away. Wade rushed at him, but Orton grabbed him and hit a backbreaker. Moments later though, Barrett was back in control and picked up Orton to hit the finisher, The Wasteland. Barrett seemed to have the winning pinfall as he got down for the victory cover. However before the ref could complete the 1-2-3, John Cena had rushed back into the building and was ringside to yank the ref out of the ring!

Cena got in the ring and hit the AA on Barrett to drop him, before Nexus all arrived to chase Cena out through the crowd. Orton pulled himself up by the ropes and Barrett got up as well. He went at The Viper who quickly got him with the RKO to get the pinfall victory.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Wade Barrett to retain the WWE Championship.

Post-match, Orton was still limping and felt he had escaped a close call. However, all of a sudden The Miz's music hit and he arrived to the ring to cash in his MITB briefcase.

The Miz vs. Randy Orton
WWE Title Match

Miz took advantage of the knee injury as well, eventually taking down Orton and smashing his knee against the ringpost multiple times. However, once Miz was back in the ring he missed on a charge at Orton in the corner. Orton started to fight back and was able to level Miz, then tried for the DDT from the ropes. Miz escaped it though and took down Orton. He rushed at The Viper, with Orton hitting the Powerslam. Orton started to pound on the mat ready for his big finish.

As Miz stood up seeming to be stunned, Orton went at him for the RKO. Miz countered it though and hit the Skullcrushing Finale. Miz captured the huge 1-2-3 pinfall victory to finally cash in and become new WWE Champion. Miz fell to his knees on the mat with the title belt, then posed with it up on the ring corner. Fans were shocked at what had just gone down.

Winner: The Miz wins via pinfall over Randy Orton to become the new WWE Champion.

Orton was shown holding his knee down on the floor as Miz hoisted up the belt on the stage and Alex Riley congratulated him. Michael Cole was ecstatic at the era of "Awesomeness" beginning. Raw ended with Cole yelling "Miz is your Champion!"

Wrestling Poll: CM Punk's MITB Plans

As of Wrestlemania 24 a new "Mr. Money in the Bank" was declared, as CM Punk won the annual Money in the Bank Ladder match. After outlasting several other competitors, then climbing the ladder in the center of the ring, Punk pulled down the coveted briefcase which he now owns. Inside that briefcase is an "anytime, anywhere" contract which Punk can cash in against the champ of his choosing. Most believe that refers to the ECW title, WWE title or World Heavyweight title.

WWE has done a great job of keeping fans wondering about when Punk will cash in and against who. He's thrown the idea out to both Edge and Randy Orton that he might cash in for the WWE or World Heavyweight title. He's still on the ECW roster for now, making one wonder if that's the title he wants. Despite some recent losses, Punk very nearly won the WWE King of the Ring tournament and will be in the upcoming WWE One Night Stand Pay Per View. In that match, Punk competes with 4 other stars in a Singapore Cane match to become #1 contender for the ECW title. The upcoming WWE draft on June 23 could give more of a clue about Punk's plans, should he move to Smackdown or Raw.

Vote in the latest poll below or on the righthand sidebar about what you think will happen with Punk's Money in the Bank briefcase.

JR said there is news on the Fatal Fourway as they showed last Monday's JBL vs. HHH match where Orton interfered. JBL recovered to knock both HHH and Orton out in the ring. JR noted that the Fatal Fourway match is now an "Elimination Match", where wrestlers will fight until just 1 is left.

Finlay vs. Great Khali

Khali came to the top of the ramp, then went up and took a seat on the throne as Raw headed to commercial break. In the matchup between Smackdown stars, it was India vs. Ireland as JR noted. Hornswoggle accompanied Finlay to the ring and watched from ringside.

Khali quickly manhandled Finlay, clotheslining him down, then slamming him to the mat. Khali missed on an elbow drop, and Finlay tried to attack. Khali quickly grabbed Finlay around the throat and shoved him to the corner. Finlay fought back then tried to jump off the ropes, but was met by a huge boot. Hornswoggle got into the ring with a shilaleigh, but the ref quickly stopped him. Hornswoggle left the ring and scurried under the ring as Khali went to the outside to slam Finlay's leg against the ringpost. Khali disregarded the ref's count and instructions to stop, so the ref called for the bell. Khali continued slamming Finlay's leg into the post, and all of a sudden Big Show emerged from backstage.

Show walked down the ramp staring straight at Khali. Show walked around the ring to where Khali was. Great Khali walked off to the other side of the ring and Show got into the ring to look out at him. Michaels said he has just one question for Batista tonight, but wants it to be face to face. Batista soon appeared from backstage along with his music and pyro display.

Michaels said last week Jericho asked Batista a question, but Batista never gave his answer. HBK asked if Batista wanted to be the man who faced Flair at Mania. KOTR Semifinals

Finlay hobbled down to the ring with his injured leg taped up thoroughly. As the bell rang Regal quickly forced Finlay down to the mat and kept trying to go for the leg. Finlay fought him off using a backflip with his legs. The action spilled outside the ring and Regal shoved Finlay into the steel steps so his leg would hit. Back in the ring, Regal continued to go at the injury as much as possible. Finlay withstood the attack and was able to throw Regal into the corner of the ring shoulder first. Finlay continued his momentum, with Regal kicking and punching back.

After a failed pin, Regal came off the ropes to kick Finlay in the head. Regal slapped on the Regal Stretch submission causing Finlay to yell out. Finlay wouldn't tap out, but the ref soon called for the bell.

The fake Obama kicked out and used the "Barack Bottom" followed by an attempt at the People's Elbow. The fake Bill Clinton tripped fake Barack near the ropes. The ref counted as both fake Hilary and Obama were down on the mat. All of a sudden, Umaga's theme music came on and the angry Samoan came down to the ring.

Umaga entered the ring as the ref called for the bell. Umaga looked at Bill and Hilary and a fallen Obama. Umaga grabbed Obama and picked him up to deliver a vicious Samoan Spike. Bill Clinton tried to make peace with Umaga, but he wasn't having it. Umaga let out a yell and the fake Bill took off running up the ramp. Umaga grabbed Hilary, hoisted her up on his shoulders and slammed her down to the mat.

Winner: No winner due to Umaga's interference.

JR and Lawler returned to recap the Political Smackdown and remind people of tomorrow's voting in Pennsylvania.

WWE Divas Ashley, Maria, Kelly Kelly, Cherry and Michelle McCool made their way down to the ring. Maria said last week something happened that they never thought was possible. Footage was shown of Mickie James picking up the surprise pinfall on Beth Phoenix last Monday to win the Women's Championship. Ashley then introduced the new WWE Women's Champion, Mickie James.

Mickie came to the ring holding up the title belt and hugging the other divas. Maria said they all wanted to say Congratulations. Mickie thanked them and said it sends the message to never quit or give up. As Mickie kept speaking, Beth Phoenix' theme music came on and Beth arrived to the ring with Victoria, Melina, Natalya Neidhart and Jillian Hall.

Beth said listening to this lovefest prompted them to come break it up. Beth Phoenix called Mickie's victory a "fluke" and said having these inferior divas with her is a "slap in the face. Michelle McCool went up to Beth and said "this is a slap in the face", then slapped her. All of the divas began to brawl in the ring, with the face divas eventually tossing the heels out. Beth and her fellow divas stood at the bottom of the ramp to yell at the other divas in the ring.

A promo was shown to announce that next week Mr. Kennedy makes his return to Raw.

CM Punk vs. William Regal
KOTR Finals

It came down to Punk and Regal as the final 2 WWE Superstars in the tournament. After several kicks to Regal's head, Punk hit the bulldog, but Regal recovered to suplex Punk down. Regal followed up by stretching Punk's arms behind his back down on the mat. Regal continued to keep the hold on Punk despite a brief bit of offense from CM. Punk got to his feet and fought back by kicking Regal several times. Punk connected with right hand shots then a kick to the back of Regal's head. Punk went for the pin with Regal kicking out at 2.

Both men got back up and Punk lifted up Regal for GTS. Regal was close to the ropes and held the top rope to get back to the ring. Regal delivered a shot to the head of CM Punk, then tried for the Regal Stretch submission. Regal eventually locked the vicious hold onto Punk. Punk tried to fight out of it but had nowhere to go and soon tapped out. William Regal is now the reigning King of the Ring.

Winner: William Regal wins by submission over CM Punk to become the 2008 WWE King of the Ring.

Cena, HHH, Kane & Undertaker vs. JBL, Orton, Edge & Chavo

Orton came to the ring first to talk about how sick he is of hearing others say they will leave Backlash as the new champ. Orton listed off all of the PPV's he's successfully defended the WWE title at including No Mercy, Armageddon and Wrestlemania 24. Orton vowed to remain WWE Champion after Backlash. When JBL got to the ring he and Orton began arguing. Chavo came out next but didn't intervene.

Edge came to the ring and tried to make peace between both men. Lawler mentioned the latest WWE magazine which features WWE Superstar Edge.

The matchup started soon after HHH, Cena, Kane and Taker each made their entrances. Taker started off against Edge, with Undertaker taking control quickly. Taker went Old School off the top rope then ran over and knocked Orton, JBL and Chavo off the apron. Raw headed to break with Undertaker picking up Edge in the ring.

As Raw returned, Chavo went for a pinfall on HHH. HHH kicked out but Chavo tagged in Edge. Edge ran at HHH for the Spear, with HHH moving away and then slamming Edge to the mat. Edge grabbed HHH's leg as he went to tag, but Triple H escaped to tag Cena. Cena took control and had Edge ready for a 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Orton distracted the ref and as Cena went against the ropes, Chavo pulled the top rope causing Cena to fall out.

The heels took advantage of Cena and began to each take turns beating on him. Orton held Cena in a sleeper but Cena stood and rammed Orton to the corner. Both men ran at each other and collided, falling to the mat. The ref counted both as they each rolled towards their corners for the tag. In came Chavo and Kane next, with Kane cleaning the ring, then the apron. Kane climbed the corner and jumped at Chavo, knocking him to the mat. Kane took the pin, but the heels came in to break it up. All of the men began to brawl. Everyone left the ring except Chavo and Kane. Edge got back to the ring and made a blind tag. Kane continued to fight with Chavo and hit the Chokeslam, but Edge caught him with a surprise Spear to pickup the pin.

After the match, Cena got into the ring and surprised Edge with an FU. HHH came at Cena and the two fought, with HHH setting up a Pedigree. JBL entered the ring and clotheslined HHH down. Orton came into the ring and began to jaw at JBL, but Undertaker had also entered. Raw ended after Taker did a double chokeslam on Orton and JBL, then stood in the ring.

Winners: Edge, Chavo, JBL & Orton win via pinfall over Kane, Undertaker, Triple H & John Cena.

Raw Preview 04.21.08

After a one year break, tonight's Raw will feature the return of WWE's "King of the Ring" tournament. During Raw there will be a tournament of single round elimination matches. Eight superstars from the rosters of ECW, Raw and Smackdown will compete. While it's not known right now who the competitors are, it's sure to make for an interesting night full of matches, with one superstar ending the show as WWE's 2008 King of the Ring. Previous winners have included the Macho Man, Bret & Owen Hart, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Booker T was the last reigning King in 2006, but who will wear the crown for 2008? See previous King of the Ring winners here.

Also expect more from superstars Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and Batista. Jericho, who will be special referee for the Batista-Michaels match at Backlash, has hosted each wrestler on his "Highlight Reel" show. However, Jericho managed to irritate both wrestlers and was on the receiving end of a HBK Superkick on Raw, and then a Batista Bomb om Smackdown. How will Jericho react to Batista and Michaels' actions last week. Will Jericho have more comments to make on tonight's Raw, or will the brash superstar be a little quieter as he prepares to referee the feud?

There was also an open invite issued to the democratic presidential candidate hopefuls, Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. WWE has suggested the two feuding politicians take to the WWE ring to settle their political differences. According to WWE.com, both Senators will be in attendance at Raw to watch the event. Will the two be able to get into a WWE ring and settle their differences?

Expect to see more from Beth Phoenix who will want a rematch against the new Women's champion Mickie James, as well as the participants in the Fatal Fourway WWE title match set for Backlash.

Tonight's Raw will be a special 3 hour show starting at 8 PM EST on USA.

WWE King of the Ring Winners

King Booker T

In 2006, Booker T defeated Bobby Lashley to become WWE's King for over a year's time. Both Booker and Lashley have since left WWE. Monday night will mark the return of WWE's tradition, the King of the Ring tournament. Eight wrestlers from the Raw, Smackdown and ECW rosters will compete in a single elimination tournament, until 1 man is victorious. That man will be crowned the 2008 King of the Ring. Jerry Lawler has always used "King" as part of his nickname, but was never an official winner of the tournament.

The event had its start way back in 1985, and has produced 17 kings, with Don Muraco the first ever. Bret Hart is the only wrestler to repeat as King (1991 and 1993). There was no tournament held in 1990, 1992, 2003-05, or 2007. Also of note, the tournament has had as many as 16 competitors, but more recently has shortened the field to just 8.

Booker was the last official winner of the tournament but left the WWE in 2007. Here's a look back at all the wrestlers who have enjoyed reigns as the WWE's "King of the Ring" as well as the wrestler they beat in the final match.

King of the Ring Competitors?

2008 King of the Ring will be a special broadcast on USA this coming Monday as the regularly scheduled Raw TV show. It will be a special 3 hour show starting at 8PM EST. The tournament is set to feature 8 wrestlers squaring off in matches, until there is just one winner. The grand prize winner, will get to reign as King (until next year's event). The last official King of the Ring for WWE was King Booker who presided over Smackdown and Raw with Queen Sharmelle, until he eventually left for "that other wrestling organization".

Here's some speculation for the 8 who will be in it. Remember the tourney includes names from Raw, Smackdown and ECW all competing.

Shelton Benjamin
MVP
Paul Burchhill
Shawn Michaels
Batista
Matt Hardy
Kofi Kingston
Santino Marella

I don't see either man winning, but Shawn Michaels and Batista would be a good idea as they have the upcoming Backlash fight. This could intensify the feud maybe by having each man interfere in the other's match, costing them the win.

One of the best scenarios above would have it come down to Matt Hardy vs. MVP in the final match, with Hardy winning the bragging rights to become King.

For some reason Paul Burchhill, Shelton Benjamin and MVP make the most sense to win a King of the Ring tournament right now. Burchhill hasn't really had any feuds yet and seems like he'd be a good fit for the role. Katie could be named his "Queen" to extend their strange relationship. MVP, we all know loves to brag about his in-ring accomplishments, so he makes a good candidate to win also. Shelton is similar to MVP on ECW as he continues to say he's the "Gold Standard", so we may see "King Shelton". Edge would be a fitting king and immediately make Vickie his "queen", which would probably irritate fans even more.

Santino Marella would be a longshot but is another guy who loves to irritate the fans, and being able to tell everyone he is "King" of WWE would definitely do that. A few other names to consider for the tourney: Carlito, Vladimir Kozlov, Festus, Tommy Dreamer, The Miz, John Morrison & Finlay.

At this point I can't see any of the major title holders outside of MVP or maybe Chris Jericho being in the tournament, or any of the title challengers. I wouldn't expect we see Undertaker, JBL, Cena or Orton, but Triple H is a possibility so he can continue his claim as the "King of Kings".

Feel free to leave your thoughts below on who will be competing and who will win the tournament..
